Seeing Jimmie and the band live is an amazing experience. Every musician in the band is a talent in their own right. Together they play some incredible blues music. Mr. Vaughan is a gifted musician who looks like he really enjoys what he does when he is playing the blues. There were a lot of experienced musicians in the room that night and it showed. My husband and I enjoy this band so much that we caught five of their shows on this tour. My only wish is that they come to the East Coast more than once a year !

This is the first time I saw Jimmie Vaughn perform in person. He was awesome and the band was hot. The Northern Lights Theater was great as well. I will go see more shows there in the future. Jimmie stayed after the show to make sure he met everyone that was there to meet him.

Jimmie showed and reminded us why he is one of the most celebrated and revered Blues musicians ever. He makes it look easy and his sound is as strong as ever. Having Lou Ann Barton join him was great and the Tilt-A-Whirl band complements his sound and style perfectly!

Jimmie Vaughan is a fascinating guitarist which I always knew and was still impressed with is no nonsense ripping of his guitar. The Tilt a Whirls were great as well...happy to see a top notch brass section...and the rythm guitar appeared he could play lead almost anywhere else...drummer never missed a beat and was pleasently surprised to see Lou Ann Barton on stage...I'd do it again tonight if Jimmie and his band were at the same venue. AWESOME!

Too much rockabilly not enough blues. Female singer was too shrilly and Jimmie tried to be heard over her voice and it didn't sound good.

The show was great. It lasted almost 2 hours. If you like Texas style blues, this for you. The only downer was the female vocalist who was over amplified and at times sounded screechy. BUT FOR $20.00, can't complain.

My girlfriend and I went to see Vimmie Vaughn at the Rythym Room in Phoenix Az last week. The venue was small, but very cool. Not only did Jiimie have us dancing the entire time, the opening band rocked as well. It was a great night and suggest it to anyone!

Maybe if Vaughan had a better place to play than the sardine-packed Rhythm Room in Phoenix, he'd be more comfortable. Heat, poor ventilation, and sheer mass of bodies in the packted-out show couldn't have been fun for the band, either. Add to that Jimmy's poor vocals, "... put your hands up and step away from the mike, slow-ly" and the show just wasn't anything even close to special. Even the crowd was yelling, "Stevie! Stevie!", for him to play some of his brother's stuff -- because what he was laying down was boring as hell. And shame of the RRoom for selling more tickets for the $$ and to hell with patron (or band) comfort. It's just flat out greed.

This was a packed house and exciting event. The crowd seemed to be mostly longtime fans, and Jimmie did not disappoint. It was a really fun concert, especially for such a small venue which was standing room only. I wish I could go every night!

The interview portion of the night was really awesome - much better than I'd anticipated. To hear someone I consider to be a blues legend play, and then get the opportunity to shake his hand and get an autograph after the show, made it an unforgettable evening. The venue is really intimate (only 200 total seats). A "Storyteller" experience.

The Venue and setting are great at the Grammy Museum its like having your own private concert. Unfortunately Jimmie has lost lots of his spark and needs to reconnect to a younger audience. There was a serious gap in the Jimmie I used to see play and would love for him to inspire a new fan base.

If you do not get out to see Jimmie Vaughan at least once in your lifetime you are definitely missing out on one of the greatest guitar players to be walking the earth. The sound he lays out with that guitar...it's not the guitar or the amps making those sounds. It's Jimmie! Talk about raw, unfiltered, soulful Texas Blues guitar playing! The entire time he was up there you could tell by his whole persona that he was born to do it and was just having a great time playing his heart out. The guy is totally cool, no doubt about it. And when Lou Ann Barton hit the stage...unreal. It was so great to see them together in person. I got to meet him after the show and it was one of the coolest moments in my life! He is such a cool person and was very warm and friendly...made you feel like you always knew him. Get out to see him and help keep the blues wheels spinning! Thanks for the great show Jimmie and band!

I love Texas blues and make a point to catch Jimmie Vaughan anytime I can. He is a terrific guitar player and even better person. His band is great, including an amazing rhythm section and the recent additions of former Roomful of Blues members Doug James (Baritone Sax) and Greg Piccolo (Tenor Sax). Lou Ann Barton has a wonderful soulful voice. Jimmie's new album, "Blues, Ballads, and Favorites" is really good. My favorite song is "The Pleasure Is All Mine." I highly recommend going to see Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-A-Whirl Band, featuring Lou Ann Barton. You won't be disappointed.

Well, I really am a fan of the Rhythm Room. I love it. It's cool, it's old, it's great. HOWEVER, when you are forced to stand in that packed little space listening to Jimmie Vaughan, for goodness sakes-- and have no room to dance??? Yeeah, then you're like, "why the hell don't they expand this place?" lol....you have Stevie Ray's brother killing it and the guitars are wailing and the horns are blasting -- and that's when you need a huge dance floor because that's where he belongs. Great music, of course... drawback was after the opening act--waited an hour standing for Jimmie but he was pretty worth it!

Show was great, he played for over 2 hrs. and performed a wide varity of songs, new and old. Added unexpected treat was a guest appearance by Lou Ann Barton who sang numerous numbers with Jimmie and solo. Really goes back. First act was JP Soars and the Red Hots. Well, this man is one exceptional guitarist himself, by the end of his set he was blowing minds and bringing the house down. I had never heard of him before and was expecting average, but he alone would have been worth the price of admission. Jimmie Vaughn gave a great show, his band was terrific and he is so smooth and confident on the guitar, loved his singing too. Wonderful night for blues/electric guitar fans!!! One note, the venue was like a mini house of blues, but consumers should be warned that there is no seating. We had to stand for 4 hours (of incredible music!) but having recently been injured in a car accident, that is something I might not have chosen to put myself through had I known. Other than that, I loved the venue -- relaxed and friendly and all about the music, and I was standing right under Jimmie's fingers and could see every note he played--- I had a blast! (despite the pain issues).

I booked Jimmie Vaughan at BB Kings because i wanted to experience a live gig there while in New York . We went with two friends and booked a booth for a guaranteed table .Jimmie was a little "safe' to begin but got better when his lady guest singer (who I did not catch the name of ) came on . In my opinion she made the show . I've seen a lot of music in UK and this did not wow me .

From the moment the band took the stage I knew this was not going to be a good show. The band was tired, slow and lifeless. Jimmie's voice was strained and weak. Song selection was odd... never heard of most of the songs. Too many slow and medium tempos. The band never broke a sweat. Terrible guitar tone! I'm afraid that Jimmie is trading off of his brother's name.

Simply put, I have been waiting for Jimmie Vaughn to play in NE PA for over 10 years. He (and his terrific band) did not disappoint! Jimmy played a 2 hr set with tunes from all of his solo albums, he played two tunes from the Family Style CD recorded with his brother, and several from his recent albums with Lou Ann Barton. Fantastic entertainment! This show had everything, including the blues, Motown, soul, jazz and pop all in one brilliant show. Playing the guitar with few (if any) effects other than reverb, Jimmy played using his thumb and skin and a pick 50/50. Jimmy Vaughn was well worth the cash and the travel time. My 8 year old son loved the show also! Probably the most underrated living guitarist. Period.

Jimmie was excellent as was the Tilt a Whirl Band and special guest Lou Ann Barton, herself of Austin and the Texas music scene. Jimmie and Lou Ann have been around awhile, they put on a seasoned , tight and excellent show. Lou Ann's voice fits Jimmies style to a tee. The band was great as well. All the musicians are highly skilled. The sax player is especially good. If you like what I refer to as the 'Texas Blues' You need to see Jimmie.

Jimmie and his band were great! Not so much Louann Barton. Her voice is too high, loud and twangy. Her voice hurts my ears. She adds nothing to Jimmie's show. Aside from her, the performance was excellent. Jimmie is an awesome blues guitar player. Seating in the showroom at the talking stick was very good. All of the staff was very attentive and polite. However, we were not allowed to record any of the performance. We tried and we were politely asked to stop. So we did. The couple sitting next to us asked us to give up our good seats so their friends could sit with them. The male of the couple was trying to be persuasive. Wanted us to trade with his friends and go sit in the 3rd row balcony. We had main floor seating. After we said "no", his friend tried to guilt us out of our seats, but it didn't work. Luckily they left us alone after the show started.

i have seen a lot of concerts. I've seen Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Clapton, and basically all the last living blues greats that are around, but none of those concerts have topped seeing Jimmie Vaughan. He played a full two hour set, the band took a break while he played Six Strings Down alone on the stage. He did all his classics like Boom Bapa Boom, White Boots and DFW. He also did some great renditions of Come On (Let The Good Times Role) and Texas Flood, clearly an ode to his brother. Most of the set was from the "Plays More Blues Ballads and Favorites" album, which is my favorite album of his. Lou Ann Barton was great as well, her and Jimmie are a great pair on stage and are very funny together on stage. For the last two songs a guy named Jimmy Vivino came out and played with Jimmie. I hadn't heard of him before, but now i have to check him out he's a great player and squeezed some great tones out of a Les Paul Special. Jimmies tone that night was great. Clear and clean but got dirty when he really dug into the strings. It was the best show i had ever been too, and it was a real treat to see my guitar hero.

I had the pleasure to hang out with Jimmie at the Coach House in SanJuan Capistrano last September. He is really down to earth and very personable. We talked for about 30 minutes and during that time he also signed my Jimmie Vaughn strat. We took some photos together and it was all to cool. Talked about his days growing up in Texas. He is one of the greats....no doubt!! I also leaned he shops at Trader Joes. He takes care of his health. But the best was at the end, on my way out the door he was signing autographs and he noticed I was headed out and said, "hey Larry, I enjoyed out visit this afternoon! and reached over the counter to shake my hand!! That itself topped the show off. Thanks JIMMIE!

I arrived early to pick up my ticket and then I went next door to the club to check it out because the doors were open. There stood Jimmie with the owner I presume and he turned as asked me "How ya doin" ? well, I was in shock for a second but finally responded by saying "Great Mr. Vaughn it's a pleasure to meet you! I quickly asked him if he would sign my pick guard off my Fender "Jimmie Vaughan" strat and he said "I'd be happy to, where is it?" I said "it's in my car and he said go get it! When I returned he asked me what I wanted him to write on it and I said "I don't know" and we both started to think out loud and finally he asked me about my what was my favorite music and I told him "your music for sure" so he wrote TO LARRY...Keep Playing The Blues!!! Jimmie Vaughan....It's was the coolest experience I have ever had let alone getting to shake a the hand of a true LEGEND!! He is so friendly and down to earth.....what a fantastic gentleman he is

Jimmie Vaughan was absolutely "PHENOMENAL!" He played songs from his new album, which I have just about worn out already listening to it. His band was choice and his guest appearance (Lou Ann Barton) did a wonderful job accompanying him in songs like "Wheel of Fortune" and I Miss You So." The audience went crazy when Jimmie sang Boom Baba Boom, again accompanied by Lou Ann Barton. The venue was the best! Where else can you have a great dinner and enjoy Rock and Roll at it's best?

On Wednesday May 19th Jimmie Vaughan and his band pulled into NYC for one night at B.B. King's Club in Times Square. A very high energy opening set from Moreland & Arbuckle, a roots rock group from Kansas started off the evening. Jimmie Vaughan then came out, assisted by Doug James and Greg Piccolo (alums of Roomful of Blues) on horns and gave a rousing set of old favorites from prior shows and CDs and new tunes from his upcoming CD. Jimmie was very comfortable during the set and bantered with the crowd between numbers adding to the intimacy of the performance. Halfway through the set Jimmie was joined on stage by long time musical companion from the old days in Austin, Lou Ann Barton who added her own warmth and flavor to the show. At the end of the set Jimmie did a solo performance of Six Strings Down, a song he wrote for his late brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan. It was a wonderful evening of great blues and roots music at B.B. JP Soars & The Red Hots was warm-up band. They did a great job, a lot of fun & would be great to see again in local venue. We've seen Jimmie a number of times & he hasn't lost a step. Loved the addition of the saxes & stand-up bass. He didn't play as many old favorites as he has, but that often happens w/ a new album coming out (June/July according to him). Lou Ann Barton was a nice surprise, and sang about 1/2 the show in one form or another. It was our 1st trip to this venue & although it was fine, it would have been nice to know that there was no seating in the stage area. If you get the chance & like that style, never miss a chance to see Jimmie. He'll deliver!

The JV-Trio puts on a good show and plays great blues music. We saw them almost 2 years to the day at the same venue. The showroom at TSR is a nice quaint venue to see a show, not a bad seat in the house, plus it's nice to have drink service. JV-Trio took the stage at 8:10 and played for about 70 minutes before leaving but they came back on for a 15 minute encore. They played a very similar set list as last time only this time the Hammond organ player was not there. Good show glad we got to see them again.

Second time I've seen Jimmy Vaughn at this venue, Talking Stick Showroom. Sound is fantastic. Big screens above, and lighting are great. Jimmy Vaughn, and "Tilt-a-Whirl" band truly bring you to a different place and time with each number. Texas Blues, and I'll add in a touch of Rock-a-Billy. Jimmy's a BIG stage presence, yet shares the stage graciously with incredible musicians. Thanks Danny Zelisko, and Talking Stick!

I didn't know what to expect, not having seen him live before, so some of this is on me. I didn't like the music/format with this band. I prefer pretty much everything he's done prior on disc. The songs all sounded the same to me, a sort of jump blues/jazz hybrid. Also, he should have let the bass player sing more, his voice was much better.

Excellent venue for the Texas Legend. As always, Jimmie did not fail to deliver the goods. Tilt- a Whirl band was tight.

The showroom at talking stick resort is a first class venue in every way. The room is small and intimate, the seating is comfortable e and service people are friendly and responsive. I have seen Jimmie before at a old downtown club where the ambience was on the other end of the spectrum and this was so much nicer.. He is a master cr of the blues and his band is terrific. I will not miss seeing him when he returns to Phoenix..Don't miss him, he won't be touring forever...

It s all general admission. Just find yourself a seat, the usher told me as I wandered down into the Dallas House of Blues Thursday evening. Seats? At the House of Blues? Low and behold, the usual standing room only area of the venue was filled with folding chairs so I took the front row center stage. Wow! I thought. Now I can see, the Texas bluesman and lesser guitar god, Jimmie Vaughan up close and personal! I blew my chance to see Jimmie s little brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan when he played at Oklahoma State University back in 1985. That s still a WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING moment in my life. However, I wasn t blowing a chance to check his big brother off my concert bucket list. Although most people know way more about Stevie Ray Vaughan than brother Jimmie, the elder Vaughn brother is not a talent that should be taken lightly. After all, the guy did open for Jimi Hendrix back in the day, and was the guitar muscle behind the Fabulous Thunderbirds back in the 80 s. I can t remember the name of the opening act, but they were pretty awesome, even though the bass guitar player looked way too much like Christopher Lloyd to be in a blues/rock band. Yea, they were good, but we were all there to see the Dallas born and Texas bred blues rocker Jimmie Vaughan, and when the 66-year-old guitar slinger took the stage (looking a bit like Harvey Keitel these days) the hometown crowd of middle-age rockers jumped up from their folding chairs in cheers. Well, I did for a few minutes anyway and then sat back down. You re sitting down? some ditzy chick behind me exclaimed. Well, yea. I m on the front row. Why do I need to stand? Or do you want to spend the rest of the show looking around me? Even though I didn t feel the need to stand through the whole show, her enthusiasm was not altered in the least, and I often felt her hands banging the top of my head from her fervent clapping. No problem. I ve had 200-pound crowd surfers, wearing combat boots sail over my head. I ll survive this. Just like I survived the couple who decided to use the two feet of space between me and stage as a dance floor while pounding on my feet. Oh well, it s only rock and roll, and I like it or tolerate it. For us who remember Jimmie s band the Fabulous Thunderbirds, we know that Kim Wilson was the singer, and I had never thought of Jimmie as a singer. However, between dishing out tasty blues licks on his Fender Strat Jimmie s voice rang out with the same intensity of that of his brother Stevie Ray. Although the two brothers seem to lover their Fender guitars there is certainly a difference in their styles. Where Stevie Ray played with such intensity you d think he was going to break all six strings and tear the neck off the guitar at times, the elder Vaughan is a bit more laid back. As he and his five-piece band played through covers of such legendary performers as Web Pierce and Clarence Gatemouth Brown (saw him play once) you could tell Jimmie was enjoying playing as much as we were enjoying listening, ditzy chick behind me and all. With a big smile on his face, Mr. Vaughan reached way back into the archives of blues, soul, and swing music to play songs like Etta James IF I CAN T HAVE YOU and Jimmy Reed s YOU GOT ME RUNNIN . When he got tired of his own voice he d invite his long-time vocalist Lou Ann Barton to join in. Yes, this lady looks as if she s sang in a few bars in her life, and could probably kick your ass if riled. Of course, for an old band jock like me some of the shows highlights was when Jimmie handed the spotlight over to his trombone player whose solos made me want to go home and dig out my old horn. However, the biggest highlight of the show for me was when Jimmie answered to the calls of the crowd and bent his strings to the Texas blues standard TEXAS FLOOD. A song that his little brother used to bend his strings to oh so very well. Must be a family thing.

I was pleasantly surprised with the facilities and showroom at Talking Stick. The showroom is a small quaint venue, not a bad seat, the seats were comfortable and the service was good. Then the band took the stage and they sounded great what a very talented group of musicians that put out a great sound. Good ole Texas Blues, we loved the sound of the Hammond organ along with the saxophone and trombone plus the guitar player and lead singer Jimmie was pretty darn good!

I confess I did not know a lot of the songs that they played, but it wasn't about that. It was about hearing an extremely soulful TX blues front man lead his incredibly tight and talented band for two hours of raucous entertainment. Bari/tenor sax and trombone players were fantastic. LouAnn Barton joined for about a half-dozen songs; her voice is made for Jimmie's guitar and his own vocals. I didn't want it to end.
