I was really excited to see rasputina...it's been like 15 years since I saw them last. The foundry was a really nice venue, drinks were expensive but what do you expect.

I am a long-time Rasputina fan who never had a chance to see the artist live. Several years and lineups later, I chanced upon Melora's website and found out that the trio would be playing in KC. The group came out with little fanfare, and simply sat down and welcomed the crowd, then broke into "Hunter's Kiss," an older favorite. Melora's voice is ever as perfect live as it is in the studio, and the cellos were never off. The performance was simply amazing and haunting. Melora would start each song with a sentence or two about what the next song was about, showing off her quirkiness. My only complaint would be that Melora did not take any requests at all during the show, which meant that they would not play any happier, upbeat tunes from the past, like "Wicked Dickie" or "When I Was a Young Girl" or "High on Life" or "State Fair" that would have been fun to hear live. Instead, she stuck with a mix of newer and older tunes that were all pretty dark. I have tended to pick and choose what songs I liked from their albums, so I did not recognize all of the songs...only about half. They played at least 3 songs from "Sister Kinderhook," their 2010 album, and "Sweet Sister Temperance" has become a favorite of mine, so it was thrilling to hear it live. And of course, I don't think any Rasputina show would be complete without "Saline The Salt Lake Queen," which they played well. A friend of mine commented that Melora Creager looked depressed, but I think that's her neutral look. The drummer (Melissa Bell?) had a goofy smirk on her face the whole time, so at least we could tell she was enjoying herself! Daniel DeJesus kept up as second chair and backup vocals..he did awesome. Overall, a great show!

Rasputina was awesome and fun to watch. Eliza Dunkirk the opener was also very entertaining and has a great voice. The venue was perfect. Everything you want for a small venue to make it a really great experience

Great show. Melora and her band have sort of reinvented the songs, and they clearly had a blast playing them. I am super stoked that the cover of the Smiths "That joke isn't funny anymore" is on one of the cds I bought.

Great venue with great sound. Really good playlist that didn't really leave me wanting. Would definitely recommend to anyone that has not seen them even with passing curiosity to give them a go. I have missed out on other shows of theirs for years, and finally was able to see them. Well worth the wait.

Very powerful show! Listening to them for years, really happy to see them live. While I thought it was awesome, my girlfriend that I brought ended up breaking up with me later that night for no reason. So be careful in bringing a girlfriend?

Hard to describe how excellent this was, I'd say even if you aren't sure about their style it's just such an amazing energy to hear them in person...and they're VERY friendly too! They hit ALL my favorites, which was super impressive. I didn't quite expect that. I felt like my mind was being read. I got everything I bought signed along with some things I brought with me, chatted with the band a little, got photos...I cannot emphasize how FRIENDLY they were! Everyone should get a chance to see them. And the setting was perfect. The Tralf is really lovely and I'd go again, a very nice atmosphere, intimate but not too crazy. Easy to enjoy and get into the performance even though you're not standing and jumping around like at, say, the Town Ballroom.

I was extremely impressed with everything about this performance. As a very long time listener this was quite probably the highlight of my Rasputina listening experience. The chemistry between the performers has greatly improved and made it quite an incredible experience.

I'd only ever heard of them prior to seeing them live. I have to say it was one of THE best introductions to a new obsession I'd ever had. Awesome show!!!

The opening band came on, and I wasn't entirely thrilled, but that was simply because I wasn't in to their style of music. They were quite talented, I just simply didn't enjoy their particular brand of music. Rasputina, on the other hand, was truly incredible. This is only my second concert, and it was a truly fantastic experience. Rasputina was amazing, they played beautifully, their set list was great, Malora's dialogues with the audience were hilarious, and everyone had an amazing time.

It was shorter than I expected. No time from the moment the doors opened to the start of the show, so being a few minutes late cost me a couple of songs. It was nice to see Voltaire again but I'd never seen Rasputina. They were noticeably absent pre and post show where as Voltaire was out socializing and signing things, really connecting with his fans. After an 8 hour drive I sort of expected a more exciting show. At least the venue was clean.

We loved the music, but could not see Rasputina due to the crowd standing in front of the stage. My husband and I are short and the stage was so low. Voltaire was his funny and adorable self. We had a good time meeting new people and seeing friends.

This show wasn't as good as the last time they played here. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the band is pretty darn bored with the Barracuda song/joke.
