Albany Devils

Great time in Albany. Was there rooting for the syracuse crunch! Had a blast. The Albany fans are not nice to visiting teams fans. They lack some class.

Received tickets for a semi pro hockey game featuring the Albany Devil's. Seats were on the glass next to the penalty box. We were literally on the ice. (feet were frozen) From the moment the players hit the ice, the action was non stop. It almost seemed as if we were part of the game. Only one lame fight but both teams showed a lot of skill for their level and put on a great show for the crowd. There was entertainment and Zambonis between the periods. Plenty of food and drink was available . All in all a great evening at the Times Union Center in Albany.

Seeing a hockey game in person is great. Having ice level seats makes it even better as players are banged into the glass right in front of you and you hear and see the puck whizzing by you only a few feet away. The problem I had with my seats was I wasn't warned they would be obstructed view. My seat was at the end of the row with an opening to go underneath the seats so I figured I wouldn't have to worry about anyone being in front of me. However, I had a man holding a camera recording the game so it could be broadcasted on the jumbo tron in the middle of the stadium. Why is that needed for such a small venue with plenty of empty seats? So I lost the view down along the boards, the penalty box, and to the right of the goalie on the other side. I paid for front row to now have someone be right in front of me but I had it anyway. Other than that, it was a great time.

Seats were awesome. Very exciting game. The Devils made a great comeback with 2 goals in the last minute of the game- plus the opposing coach got thrown out of the game.

The game was good if you were a Rochester fan, but if you were hoping for Albany to pull through, you were sorely mistaken!! The Devils only scored once while the visiting team scored 6 times, once they scored twice in 30 seconds (or at least thats how it felt)! Of course the venue, as always, was wonderful. Had seats right behind the glass which I've never experienced before, and don't think i'll repeat. To many people walking in front and it is a bit more colder in that area. Overall it was an ok experience, hopefully next time they'll be winners!!

Brief history: The Albany Devils are actually the original Albany River Rats. The Charlotte Checkers are the most recent team to wear the Albany River Rats jersey, before the team was transferred closer to its parent club, the Carolina Hurricanes. Watching some of the Checkers, who used to be River Rats(Samson, Dodge, Osala) playing against the Devils was bittersweet. But I think that it was a great matchup, and look forward to the next time they meet, which I think is in December or early next year.

Although Myself and my Family were in the opponents house, most of the fans were very courteous. Of course there is always one in every bunch who bothers everyone. The facility was clean and the staff very helpful. The seating was quite comfortable as well. Parking was easy and getting into and out of the event was pretty effortless. Of course with the Phantoms winning 5-3 it was an enjoyable walk to the car.

Such a fun time. The crowd was really into it! This game was as (if not more) exciting than an NHL game!!!!

We had lots of fun at the game and want to go again.

Great game. lot of action and ended in a shootout. What more could you ask for.

I took twelve members of my family to go see the devils this past weekend and it was great. We took up almost two rows right behind the visitors bench and they were great seats you could even hi-five players as they came of the ice. It was a great value for a great day.

It was great to be able to see the Albany Devils play at the Prudential Center. There were seven of us who went and everyone had a blast. We hope Albany can play at The Rock more often!

The game was excellent. My kids and I all had a great time. Not a bad seat in the place, and you can't beat the price.

This event was amazing had so much fun! Cost was so family friendly ! Would definitely go again.

game was exciting BUT I was disappointed there were no Albany Devils souvenirs and all the gift shops were closed

The folks at Prudential welcomed us with open arms to a cozy AHL game. General Admission got us the best seats we've ever had at a sporting event. Thank you for the great evening.

The atmosphere in the TU arena for the hockey game was subdued. Quiet and uneventful...maybe it's the size of the arena with the very small crowd. Hockey games in Glens Falls are much more rowdy and exciting with more giveaways, t shirt cannons, people and kids dancing during intermission. None of that in Albany. The Devils played well against the Tigers, but the Arena and support staff need to learn how to put on a show.

This venue is a great place to watch a hockey game! Brought my 5 year old daughter to the game and she loved it.

Minor league hockey anywhere is a great deal of fun and this arena is no exception. My seats were right along the boards but I walked around a bit before the game and all seats are excellent. Be sure to check out the stand that sells the New York State microbrews!

We had good seats, the kids had a good time , and it was my youngest grandaughter's first hockey game. She loved it.

Everyone had a great time! Venue was clean! Game was awesome!

We really enjoyed the game. It was our first time at Boardwalk hall and we were in awe of it! Not only did we love the game but we also enjoyed the light show outside of the building!

I and the 2 kids with me had a great time! All the personnel at the Hall were friendly & helpful, and our seats were amazing. We were disappointed by the lack of team merchandise for sale. But that did save me a lot of money. And what was that nasty sewage smell between the garage & the Hall? Thought it was bad when we arrived, but it was worse when we left.

Turned out to be a great game, but my team lost in overtime. The Boardwalk Hall is a great place for a Hockey Game, and the crowd was much less than overflowing. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Only issue, unfortunately is that since neither team is the "local team", the fans don't seem to be nearly engaged; very little cheering, or noise for either team. From that standpoint, a little dull....

I gave it five stars, AMAZING? no, but a GREAT GAME!! Always nice when I can take my kids local for some professional hockey - at a reasonable price -- we miss the BOARDWALK BULLIES !!!

Awesome venue for minor league hockey. I went with my 10yr old and my 4yr old. Ample parking with a short walk to the game. Great seats for an unbeatable price. A terrific overall experience.

Game was great. Seats were excellent. Main entrance of building had a serious sewer gas mixed with sulphur smell. It was almost unbearable. But it dissipated once you got past the escalators

Always a good time and a great stadium to get close to the action

American Hockey League game showcased rising professional stars. Talent was not lacking. Fast, exciting game included a pretty good one-on-one fight. Boardwalk Hall was a good venue. Small crowd was energized!

The atmosphere inside Boardwalk hall is great! Even though there weren't many fans in attendance, you could still feel the energy coming from the teams. However, Boardwalk hall definitely needs to upgrade its food and beverages. The popcorn and cheesesteak was horrible. And there was only a single t-shirt for sale.

The improvement in Boardwalk Hall is impressive especially since the last game I saw there. Clean comfortable roomy seats.. Pleasant friendly helpful staff. I will definitely consider attending other games and events there. Also I enjoyed having a glass of wine while watching the game. We felt safe and comfortable. Also liked parking at the facility

The game was fun. I missed the mascots and the fun stuff they used to do with the crowd when they were in Philly.

I think this will be the last season that the Devils and Flyers will send their minor league teams to Atlantic City to play hockey. The attendance was awful! I bet that there were less than 1,000 inside the Boardwalk Hall convention arena. The hockey game was good, but clearly this is a money loser for the teams involved. No one wants to visit AC in the colder months. Several of the casinos are now closed. And, there are very few family friendly restaurants near the Boardwalk Hall.

Outstanding venue, great team and game, only problem was they only had a very select few concession stands open, I should have went to get my food during the player practice, I missed 5 min of the first period and an incredible goal. Suggestion get your food & drinks early!

If you are hockey fans and want a nice night out that's enjoyable and affordable for the whole family this would be it.

I was able to waive to someone on the Phantoms bench for my son to get the broken stick. He has been smiling ever since! He won't let anyone touch it!

First ever time seeing the Albany Devils. Great afternoon to see hockey. Nice building...reminds me of my youth going to the New Haven Coliseum (New Haven Night Hawks). Very similar buildings.

The Penguins and Devils put on a good show. Exciting game that went into overtime!

The game was highly entertaining, went to overtime and then a shootout. The service on the other hand was not so great. We got the family four-pack, which included a ticket for a soda and hot dog. When my wife was in line, she overheard the clerk tell the person in front of her that she could only get Coke or Diet Coke to drink, nothing else (even though the ticket said, "soda"). My wife came up and said she did not drink anything caffeinated, nor did our 3 year-old daughter. Eventually she was able to get a root beer and lemonade. When my friend and I went to redeem the ticket during the 1st intermission, first after gave the clerk the ticket and ordered, she told me it would be $8. I said, "Isn't that what the ticket is for?". A woman standing by us pointed to the part that said, "Good for one hot dog and one soda". After conferring with her manager, she did not charge me. Then, after ordering, we find out they were out of hot dog buns at that stand (as well as pretzels). So after waiting for about 10 minutes, a guy with a cart finally arrives with the buns and pretzels, which caused us to miss half of the second period. Also, there are many people who do not know, "hockey etiquette", such as waiting for a stoppage in play before leaving or returning to your seats, plus I never really saw any ushers to enforce this. I know at NHL games I have attend, the ushers typically make you wait for a stoppage, but this is the minor leagues, I guess. . . The poor service and environment really took away from a very entertaining game.

These guys are the future of the NHL, if it ever resolves its labor issues and they bust their ass knowing scouts are watching. It's a great family atmosphere and its very affordable compared to the astronomical prices the NHL gouges their fans for. Albany Devils dominated play with outshooting Connecticut Whale something like 44-15 but the whale escaped with a 2-1 win in a shootout.

This was my first time ever going to a hockey game and my friends came up from jersey and told me I should come. I've watched hockey on tv but have never been there for a game and let me tell you I instantly fell in love with hockey that night! It's amazing watching them and how into the game you get!

The Arena was difficult to navigate, and had barely any staff to help you find seats. Just a mess of construction.

I understand that the team is leaving but the service I did not receive in the team store was uncalled for. You still have a job to do and shall still do your best.

It was my first game ever and I'd definitely go back!

Either the Devil's are in a daze, or the Marlie's are that much better, the Devil's do not belong on the same ice with them. Devil's played thier power plays mostly in their own zone, couldn't advance or move the puck, when Marlies had power play, Devil could not stop them period. Looks like a minor league team playing a major league team ! Oh, and the officals might as well wore Marlie's uniforms, that's how blatenly obvious the officiating was !

The Devils came back to win after killing 4 penalties in the 3rd period. Amazing.

I am a hockey fan. As such, I have thick skin. I don't expect a hug fest. The Albany fans made this game a horrible experience. Rude, threatening, poor winners. Felt uncomfortable and less than safe. Will be a long time before we go there again. Sadly, their behind the scenes staff is working hard to increase numbers, draw people in, and offer a better experience but the "fans" ruin it. Let me say, also, I am not talking about young people. I am talking about grown, middle aged men. Concession and parking prices too high. Clean facility. Friendly ticketing staff.

I found the Times Union Center to be so fan friendly. The parking garage is adjacent to the facility withing easy walking distance. The entrance process was quick and simple. The concessions were varied and somewhat reasonably priced and our ticket location was perfect. I would highly recommend an event at the Albany Times Union Center.

One of the Best Hockey games I have been to in a long time! You Go Devils!!!

I had a blast driving up to Albany to catch a Devils game. Met a lot of great people and had a really fun time. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone, even casual sports fans. Can't beat the price!

Great seats, right on the glass between the faceoff dot and the blueline. Poorly played game by both teams. Sort of looked like beer league hockey. One of the guys even lost the puck on a penalty shot. But hey, it was hockey. Something to do on a winter Saturday in Albany.

I took my 12 year old mentee to her first hockey game and she loved it! Great game!

I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Times Union Center. It was a comfortable temperature and the fans are fun. I am not as familiar with hockey as my boyfriend but I think he was glad to see some guys play he knew played in the NHL. I like to see lots of scoring and the night I attended they had a thrilling win!

With a little excitement for a bomb threat, we had a wonderful time and the hockey was exciting as always. Always an amazing night out.

Very fast moving action last period by Amerks was pretty intense .but Devils just seemed faster and more skilled fun to watch the action!

Exciting game! Albany wasn't able to get on the board the first two periods but that third period - WOW!!!! I think they scored 4 goals in 5 minutes.

Any hockey game is worth going to, Devils vs Wolfpack is a must see!!!!

Was a very exciting game! The fans are fun and faithful. There is a lot of local participation. They have area youth hockey teams come out on the ice(some as young as 4) which is adorable. Local boy/girl scout troops or schools sing the national anthem. Great time!

My 3 boys (ages 2 to 8) had so much fun!!! They can't stop talking about how much they enjoyed it. Great entertainment for a good price.

The Albany Devils together with the Times Union Center do a great job with this hockey venue. Awesome action, fast, tough hockey...pro level action without the pro level cost. Weekend games especially are great times to bring out the kids and get them involved. Lots of attention to making this a great, family oriented outing. Terrific venue all the way around.

There was five of us, and we all had a great time. It was a small crowd in the arena. We had the first row in the section. We do have the same seats for the following three games. This is our 2nd year going.

It could use a little more fan interaction. Didn't even see the mascot.

I've attended multiple sporting events at Boardwalk Hall and they do a great job with service and accommodation.

I love my Devils. Albany and New Jersey. Have since I was 8 (yes that was the River Rats era). Stop taking your kids to a professional hockey game and getting mad when I'm screaming at the other team. It's hockey. This arena is CALLLLM compared to the Knick when the Rats played here. If you want your kids to have a good time at a pro hockey game, sit them as close to the ice as possible, because those of us that are diehard fans with season tickets sit farther up toward the top of the lower bowl. Just some tips :)

Brought the whole 7 member family for a night at Times Union to watch the Albany Devils beat the Hershey Bears. Met Jon Merrill for breakfast in our hotel and watched his pro debut and +2 performance and first assist! Good Luck. You'll Rock!

Sat first row on the glass next to the bench for half the cost of nosebleed seats at the Garden. Good quality hockey, family-friendly environment. Only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because they ran out of programs.

Had lots of fun, but the seats were terrible so we had to get them exchanged.

Your services were great. I ordered the tickets to the game and received them swiftly and without any problems. These tickets were a gift, and my boyfriend was absolutely thrilled, front row, right on the ice. We would definately go again.

My whole family enjoys hockey but I never saw what the buzz was about until I saw my very first game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City New Jersey. The action is non stop and draws you in. Before I knew it I was cheering and booing with the other fans! I still don't enjoy watching hockey on tv but if asked to go to a game-I wouldn't say no!

Great game almost as good as the NHL . Would definitly recommend this to other people

Boardwalk Hall is an older building in Atlantic City but clearly it has been refurbished in recent years. The Phantoms/Albany hockey game there Jan. 20 was my first visit to this venue - but not my last. A clean, bright, pleasant arena with at least decent amenities and a great view from my rinkside seat about 12 rows up. I had a great time and am likely to attend the ECAC hockey tournament there in March. Boardwalk Hall should have a full-time AHL or ECHL tenant, I think. I have no idea why the Flyers let the Phantoms move to Glens Falls, NY, when they could have been playing nearby at the Jersey Shore while their new arena is being built in Allentown.

It was great getting to see the Flyers farm team play in Atlantic City. It was an exciting game and the seats were awesome!!

Having been a Cub Scout master many years ago, I know what the adults went through, getting up to get the Cubs something to eat and drink. While we had seats 1 & 2 and it was kind of hectic always getting up to let the adults and Cubs out, we didn't mind. They enjoyed themselves and so did we. Will go to a game again.

Boardwalk Hall is a great location. There are many fun things to do before & after this event, to make a great night out of it. Entry to this event was speedy. The staff was very friendly. The seating was great! The mascot & games make it fun for the kids. Overall this was a very nice event for families & I already booked my tickets for the Hersey Bears vs. Phantoms!

Saw the Albany Devils play against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Great place to see a hockey game the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the Devils lost!! Lots of parking at arena, the boardwalk is open (casino's etc...) and inexpensive tickets. Overall, a nice afternoon!

There's not a bad seat in the house! Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City is a GREAT place to see ANY event. There's no exception for hockey! You're going to be close to the action... even if you're in farthest away seat in the place. I wish they had the hockey events even more often than they do... I'd go all the time. See you there December 14th, 2014! ;-)
