2nd time I have had the pleasure of seeing EA and the Bloody Crumpets live. They put on an excellent show, hands down. Great selection of songs, including some I have never heard before, and a hilarious floor show to go with the music. EA's antics are fantastic and the interactions between her and the Bloody Crumpets are very entertaining. The small venues that they play at also help make things feel a bit more intimate and personal. If your an EA fan, you should absolutely see her live, and if your not so sure, its worth the very modest price tag for tickets.

Gorgeous girls and wonderful Music. What more could you ask for? Emilie Autumn isn't for everyone, but for those who can set aside judgement on look alone and take a shot at seeing her are in for a treat. This show is more than just a `concert`. It's a combination of Emilie's music in conjunction with visuals and dialogue that'll keep you entertained throughout. Inbetween the music, we, as the audience (or plague rats) are treated to conversations involving three other females that accompany Emilie; all with their own unique personalities. Audience participation is at it's finest with a few lucky participants being able to step up on stage and interact with one of the lovely ladies. Again, it's not a show for everyone and some might even be scared off by the audience themselves, but for those who aren't faint of heart? Look no further than the amazing Emilie Autumn. I'd go see her again if I could. Come back to Chicago soon!

She may seem to be a stereotypical candy goth princess but Emilie Autumn doesn't let that image control her. She puts on a wonderfully mad and entertaining tea party/cabaret. I felt as if I was at an Off Broadway show due to her simple yet pleasing theatrics and dramatic performance. Her co performers, The Bloody Crumpets, add light hearted humor to an otherwise melodramatic show. For anyone seeking an evening of wayward Victorian/Industrial fun, this is the show to see!
It was so so incredible and amazing. I wish all my BFFs could have been there too!!! I just want everyone to attend her show so that you too can be as amazed as I am!!!! She was just soooo {FETCH}! I love her soooo much. I hope I can go to all her shows. I love her, bye.

The venue was smaller - probably no more than 200 or 300 people there - and the show therefore felt much more intimate and involving. But that made the concert that much more enjoyable! How do you describe Emilie Autumn and her Blood Crumpets? The show involved dancing, walking on stilts, amusing little skits, and acrobatics a la Cirque du Soleil... and one of it getting trite and boring despite the length of the show. The routines for the songs all coordinate, such as the Bloody Crumpets "cutting" her and licking the blood when she sings "I want your suffering" (during "Liar"). You only truly experience her songs once you see them performed live, because she puts a lot of creative thought behind the live performances. The audience interaction is the best part, and you lose yourself in just singing along and feeling a camaraderie with the other fans in the venue. Absolutely amazing - it was my first concert I've ever attended, and worth the two-hour drive to get there.

At first I was concerned that because this was a smaller venue and audience - I think there may have been 200 people tops - that the quality of the show might suffer. I couldn't have been more mistaken. Emilie's performance is like falling into a dream filled with corsets, glitter, and crumpets. Her songs are only truly experienced live - "Liar" goes from accusatory to haunting when you see Emilie being 'slashed' on stage as she howls "Are you suffering?/I want your suffering" I can't possibly describe the show - it was all at once beautiful, funny, and a reminder that inside of every one us resides a wayward Victorian girl. We traveled over 100 miles to Orlando to see this event, and I would do so again in a heartbeat!

I would love to see this band again, at another venue, perhaps The Tabernacle. I'm certain that the dynamic of a performance, that largely depends on interaction with the audience, would be far superior at a venue where the live act (with a higher ticket price than the club's cover charge) was the priority. The loud throbbing beat of the house/techno music pounding through the floor from the cellar, drowned out our enjoyment, and meant that Emilie & her Bloody Crumpets had to scream to be heard. Not only did it annoy her, but the audience was deprived of any subtle nuances in the banter that comprised the performance. My only complaint about the band was that there was not enough live play, but that could've been because of the circumstancesat the venue. When Emilie finally seared the strings with her bow, and let her fingers dance on the ivories, it was phenomenal. I thought it would have been funny and appropriate if she had ripped into "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" for a few notes, just as a joke, but I wasn't brave enough to shout it.

What more could you ask from a troupe of five wayward Victorian girls? Amazing vocals, acrobatic performances and skits. Tea, muffins and crumpets flying as were glitter and there was lots of making out. Unfortunately the Masquerade, glorious building that it is, was less than polite, whatever club it hosts on Friday nights was miserably loud from the Hell section, we were staged up in Heaven. At times it was hard to hear the performance over the club/lounge's poor excuse for electric music downstairs. That aside though, I hope she does another tour, EA is a powerful woman who is so obviously the ringleader and her Plague Rats will follow without question.

I enjoyed myself over the entire concert, I laughed, I had adrenaline rushes, I swooned. I loved the Bloody Crumpets too, Captain Maggot & Veronica were my favorites. They were all quite talented and fun to watch! Emilie Autumn presented us with an unquestionable force representing her such diverse talents. I missed "Let The Record Show" though, that is one of my favorites, but she did not disappoint whatsoever. I will do whatever I can to see her shows in Atlanta again.

Emilie Autumn's preformance was definatly an unforgettable one. The theatrics were incredible and everyone was in awe. All of the preformers had their own personalities. It was more of a stage preformance than a concert. Be warned though: it was very hyper sexual. There was a lot of girl on girl touching and kissing, and suggestive behavior. This didnt bother me much, but I wouldn't recommend bringing young children.

Seeing Emilie Autumn and the Bloody Crumpets was beyond what I had hoped for. The El Rey Theatre's art deco ambiance was the perfect accompaniment to The Asylum's warrior. EA's energy was fierce and so true to her message. I would encourage every EA fan (or muffin, rather) to embrace their inner Plague Rat and support this incredibly powerful and inspiring woman. Every essence of what she and the B. Crumpets brought to the stage was unforgettable and undoubtedly thought-provoking. This is not just a performance- this is an autobiographical documentary. I was privileged to enter, and become a part of, The Asylum, and came out of it feeling like I had another home. Thank you to Captain Maggot, The Blessed Contessa, and Naughty Veronica for your spectacular talents and ferocious beauty. And, above all, thank you to Emilie Autumn for your bravery, your passion, and for fighting like a girl.

The Venue and staff were amazing. Emilie Autumn was fantastic, but I really wish she would have waited on touring until her record was finished, as most of the audience was lost due to the fact that they didn't know any of the unreleased tracks she was singing. Her fans weren't very energetic so that kind of put a damper on the concert.

The last time I saw EA was at a teeny venue in Pomona. I was happy to see her at the El Rey, which has a larger stage and swankier feel. The dark red velour matches the sinfully burlesque, frightfully desperate, and wild feel that I come to expect from EA and The Bloody Crumpets. I enjoyed every minute of their shenanigans, always impressed with the set design and attention to detail. Having The Contessa and Captain Maggot come out with acrobatic theatrics is always a highlight of the show. This show was definitely more gritty than flirty, which may come as a surprise to the men in the audience who came to see a burlesque show. Yeah, they're wearing corsets and lace and kissing each other, but they do it as she's growling about killing 49% of the population (i.e. the men). :P

This was really lots of fun and I found myself smiling throughout especially between songs when Emilie and her crumpets were bantering back and forth. The interludes in between made it seem like a play at times which was a unique approach. I loved how each Crumpet had something to bring to the show especially Contessa with her amazing acrobatics. Loved all the songs that were played, "Mad Girl" with only Emilie and her harpsichord was a real treat. The El Rey theatre venue was really nice, this was my first time there and I would see a show there again for sure

This was the first time I got to see Emilie in concert. I drug along my boyfriend, even though he isn't the same level of fan I am. He is notorious for never taking pictures at concerts, theory being that you should have been there, but it took no time at all for him to whip out a camera and start snapping away. He was NOT expecting the kind of epic show that went on. I had so much fun, and her interaction with the audience was fantastically personal and fun. All four of us that went had a blast. We're still talking about it. Also... the costumes are to die for.

I recently discovered EA and have been listening to her songs. I saw the concert coming and I just bought the tickets without researching. Her theatrical performance with the Bloody Crumpets just blew me away. I was not expecting it. It was pretty nice just seeing her and not an opener. I don't think her music is for everyone, but if you like any of it definitely buy an album and check out a concert when she comes back. Apparently she was sick from laryngitis or something, but she still performed excellently and hung in there for her fans.

Although they were over an hour late before starting the show, (I believe this was due to the overwhelming amount of people that showed up, either that or maybe because she had her VIP teaparty right before, who knows) other than that, it was super cool. This was my first time seeing her in concert. I noticed that her concerts are more like a "show" than a concert. And I have heard that somewhere too. It truly is. She and her Bloody Crumpets- Contessa, Captain Maggot, and Veronica, all romp around and make the show fun and entertaining. Each gal has their own talents. Captain Maggot was fun to watch on stilts and doing her hula dance, and Contessa was doing some kind of "sling" dance above our heads, with an eerie "hanging" at the end. It was really neat. Very original, I've never seen anything like that before. I know that she also does fire-breathing as well. As for Veronica, she does a feather dance, and,she loves to kiss and show. Kissing EA as well as a "virgin" or 2 from the audience. Any young gal that has never kissed a girl before and wants to. She calls it "The Rat Game". Very cool. The songs are awesome and it's great to watch Emilie burn it up on the violin and harpsichord. Go EA! I will definitly see her again!

Upon looking at other reviews to see if I had posted one about the great Emilie Autumn, I stumbled upon the fact that others had insulte her wonderful show at the Masquerade. This was not a bad show in the least, the Masquerade being the hellhole it is disrespected her in every possible way. I'd been to other shows there and yes they still had the rumble from the cellar but those bands were loud enough to mask the noise. Emilie's music and stage show didn't have the loudness to compete with it and she had every right to be angry. They showed absolutely nothing towards her as an artist especially by calling the police and fire marshall. She does not sing with a track and her stage show is wonderful. So wonderful in fact that the show at the Masquerade sent me gallavanting accross 4 other states just to see her again and again She has so much respect and love for her fans that in fact after the Masquerade when they kicked her out we waited by the tour bus and she invited us and the other plague rats to join the VIP's and sing My Fairweather Friend with her and get pictures taken with her and autographs. She is an amazing artist with the greatest stage show and presence in the world. I will be a plague rat until I die.

I'm not usually a review writer, but seeing and listening to Emilie Autumn and the crew live was one of my best experiences and best concert ever! Their corsets and bloomers were beautifully unique from the style down to embroidered threads. Not only were their outfits amazing, but their hair and make-up also received as much care to detail. As a whole, the concert was visually appealing and very interactive as well. I loved watching members of the crew suspend themselves from the ceiling on hoops and hanging fabric. Oh, and I can't forget to mention Emilie Autumn's amazing electric violin solo performance. You haven't lived until you hear her play live :) The band members were also available afterward for signing and pictures. Many people also had the opportunity to personally chat with Veronica who returned sooner than her other crew mates. I'm so glad they are currently touring in North America and lucky that they performed in my hometown :)

So, I was taking my brother out for his 26th birthday to mainly see TBM, so the event was starting at 7pm with the thought that Emilie Autumn was playing first so, we took our getting to Boston, MA finding a place to park, then taking the time to find where they were playing at. Well unfortunately we waited for 2 hours of what we thought was going to be TBM playing. So we saw Emilie Autumn, and my brother and I were not really liking their music. So we decided to go to the bar next store for a drink, while we were waiting of Emilie to get done; so we could see the main event. Well that's what we thought anyway, after we got back, we saw stage guys packing up, and after going up and asking. After they told me that TBM already played, I was very heated. I thought from reading "Emilie Autumn / The Birthday Massacre" that the Emilie band was playing first at 7pm, then TBM at 8pm from what I was reading from Ticketmaster. I was ready to give my brother one of the greatest presents of all. Getting him to see TBM Apparently that didn't happen like we wanted it to.

I was so excited for this show! I left quite disappointed, however. I thought she would have an incredible band with her, but she didn't. She had two backup singers with her this time around and they sang along to backing tracks primarily from the "Fight Like a Girl" album. Actually, I couldn't tell if the backup singers were singing or lipsyncing. The backing tracks sounds like they were under water. Emilie sounded good (for a glorified karaoke concert). I still love her though and will probably give her another chance. This time around was such a bummer though...

The Birthday Massacre opened the show and was awesome! But then Emilie Autumn killed the mood. She is horrible. Overly dramatic. Showy. Fake. And a voice that's meant for off off broadway theater, not a concert. She's a cheap knock off of Lady Gaga. Birthday Massacre should have played the whole night and Emilie Autumn should have been just a spectator!

I have been a fan of The Birthday Massacre for a while, and was really happy to see them live finally - they played a very tight set. You could tell this was not the first go 'round for them. They sounded really great. I knew less about Emilie going into the show, probably having heard only 10 songs from her ever. It did not matter, as she does not play a traditional concert anyway. It honestly felt more like a variety burlesque musical than a concert, which I loved. Even when I didn't know the songs, it was a spectacle to watch. Would totally recommend it for people open to new experiences and who like watching crazy shows.

This was my first show and my expectations were low. The tickets were dirt cheap so I figured it would be low quality. I only went because my girlfriend absolutely adores emilie autumn. I had little interest in watching it since frankly the songs are not targeted at heterosexual males. We arrived at the show two hours early only to be horrified at the venue. The neighborhood was horrible. We stayed in the car until the show started. The show started almost an hour late but it was nice. The stage was cute, the costumes were surreal, and the girls' enthusiasm was overthetop. I felt bad since I know there were several parts of the show that seemed like they were expecting crowd participation and it was subtle but I knew they were disappointed. Also I know my girlfriend was a little heartbroken that emilie lost her voice prior to the show a long of songs were subpar compared to her usual singing. I personally was entertained throughout the entire show. She doesn't play instruments and I thank her for that. I think I would have been bored to tears if it was just her singing about getting her revenge against forty nine percent of the population. She has catchy songs and puts an amazing performance. I was somewhat uncomfortable with the homosexual activities because they seemed forced. Anything forced, gay, straight, and everything in between, makes me uncomfortable. TL;DR great show,'even if you're a straight guy, amazing performance, nice music, poor venue and lose of voice stole her a star.

Emilie Autumn is a unique artist that sounds like nothing you've heard while putting on a fantastic show that you will never forget. Being a plague rat that inhabits the Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls is an exciting and inspiring position to be in. Emilie turns "fight like a girl" into what it should mean as being strong and fighting as hard as any human could do. She's ccompanied by the Bloody Crumpets: the always lovely Veronica Varlow who puts together a hell of a burlesque show, The blessed Contessa Montebello whom only asks to dine on fellow humans while drinking some tea, and finished off by the Pirate Captain Maggot. Harpsichord, the Rat Game, pastries for us plague rats and the incredible talents of Emilie Autumn and her Bloody Crumpets make for an excellent show that everyone should definitely go see, each and every time she comes to your city.

For the past few years every time Miss Autumn has preformed here in Chicago I have made it my duty to see her and The Bloody Crumpets perform in all their glory. The Venue is always small but I really prefer it that way as the connection between us Plague Rats and our Mistresses are that much closer. More than just music it is a show and an experience that will make you fall in love with Miss Autumn and her Crumpets. If you like the burlesque, the intense, and the best an electric violin and harpsicord can offer, you will love every second of this.

Phenomenal show by Miss Emilie Autumn and her Bloody Crumpets. This is a show unlike any other. The music is thoughtfully laid out to create a story. In between songs the girls exchange witty quips and interact with the audience with skits like "The Rat Game." The show is part metal, part classical, part broadway, and part burlesque. Everyone should experience this incredible act at least once.

Incredibly amazing show! EA never disappoints; her voice, the interactions, and some comic relief to boot! Besides the show's amazingness, EA fans are the nicest bunch I've ever shared the pit with. :]

This was such an entertaining show! Emilie really knows how to tell a story cohesively and even takes time to include her audience in the performance. The costumes were, of course, Victorian-style boudoir to die for. The set design gave the feeling of a prison without being overdone so as not to take away from the performances. All the Ladies on stage worked well together, evident in their harmonizing, and each had their own unique characters. The audience members were pretty cool too. I'd definitely go see one of her shows again.

Well, my late arrival got me a pretty lame view of the action, but overall the experience was definitely unforgettable. I loved the show. <3

Emilie Autumn and the Bloody Crumpets put on one hell of a show. The music is so unique and the show they put on can't be compared. My husband and I have went to 2 shows in less than a year and eagerly await the next time she's in our area. We traveled over 3 hours and booked a hotel just to go and see Emilie perform.

Emilie Autumn is a phenomenal artist, and the Bloody Crumpets are amazing together. However, I feel like this show was a mockery of what they can normally do, which I blame entirely on the venue. The House of Blues is a terrible venue for a concert, plain and simple. The floor for general admissions is too small, and there are seats in the balcony from which a person cannot even see the stage. The stage itself is to short to accommodate the audience, making it incredibly difficult to see anything unless one is in the first two to three rows of the floor. Not to mention anything of the over-priced bars, the bad attitude of the security personnel, and the "skip the line if you blow twenty bucks on House of Blues merch." I feel like a lot of the performance was toned down and cheapened by the fact that this was sold as an all-ages show. Not only did that mean much of the performance was either changed our left out entirely, it meant that the concert had to end early to allow the under-agers to get home before curfew time. Maybe that sort of thing is appropriate for some other performances, but for Emilie Autumn--who basically performs a musical burlesque show--it just ruins the experience.
