Steve Howe is a masterful guitar player. There is no doubt. He assembled a fine group of musicians to perform some of the most difficult arrangements ever proforma by a classic progressive rock group. My favorite moments were the opening with close to the edge and closing with starship trooper which capped the long awaited finale combined with yours is no disgrace and roundabout. But for a 50th anniversary celebration it lacked too many of the classic hits. The was no wondrous stories, owner of a lonely heart, going for the one. Just a lot of progressive jam. Stadium volume for a small theater. I got to see it once. I would not see it again.

Back in the early Seventies, I was a famous, southern Top-40 radio announcer, and music director. I was an art-rock freak too, and with lots of college students in our listenership, I played a lot of great music that wasn't on the normal Top-40 lists. When Atlantic Records released "Roundabout", they offered a gold 45-RPM record on a wooden plaque to any radio station music director that sent them a printed Top-40 list with Roundabout at #1. Well, I did so, and got my plaque with my "AirName" on it. I've always wanted to get Steve and Jon to autograph it, but I'm not on-air anymore, so getting backstage access doesn't happen for me. Until now - I bought Meet & Greet tickets and got Steve's 'graph! Now, I've just gotta do the same thing for the Jon version of Yes, if it ever makes it to the east coast. The show was great, too!

YES 50 is an awesome show, filled with fantastic tracks, (new and old) but most importantly, the band was as good as I have heard them in over 25 concerts. I first saw yes in Philadelphia in 1976 and have been a fanatic fan since then. Steve Howe is AMAZING. His talent and awe inspiring performance was nothing less than spectacular. He is a master musician and communicated well with the audience. Jon Davison s participation was also a command performance whose voice has a mesmerizing balance of his own style, but not unlike Anderson's cadence. Jon Davison has an inspiring quality all of its own. He is certainly a huge compliment to the band and one can tell that he is grateful to perform with R&R Hall of Fame Legends. There is good chemistry between Howe and Davison, and both are leaders for the team... When "Soon" was played, Howe's command of the ageless and time defying Fender slide guitar was impeccable. The slow slides of keys along with Davison s airy voice were undeniably one of the best parts of the concert... Only once did I see a bit of breakdown, noted by Howe to his dear friend and keyboardist Geoff Downes. Howe turned around and gave a bit of a scowl to Downes who acknowledged his advice. Overall, a fantastic show, and most important I was able to share it with my 22 year old son who has become the new generation of YES fans. Adieu my friends at Yes until we meet again and most notably, God Speed to Chris Squire.

This was an amazing show at the Warfield in SF. Asia played all their hits including "Video Killed the Radio star" and "In the court of the Crimson King" These were pleasant surprises. Also, Yes did many of their favorites including rare Tempus Fugit and Astral Traveler. These s guys to shame many of the newer top 40 bands out their today.

The Warfield was a great venue for the Yes/Asia concert. We had lower loge seating which was very comfortable and the sound system was much better than the Filmore and slightly better than the Regency. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The first band, Asia, was very good. I had not heard them except for Steve Howe who is an incredible guitarist plus he did both Asia and Yes sets! I had been looking forward to Yes for forty years and thoroughly enjoyed everyone EXCEPT Benoit David who has "temporarily" (?) taken over for Jon Anderson. Benoit is a very good entertainer but can he replace or substitute for Jon Anderson? NO! His voice was weak or drowned out at times and even a little flat. He does not have the unique voice that Jon Anderson has. That was my main disappointment but the vocals and especially the instrumentals from Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White were unbelievable. Oliver Wakeman did an acceptable performance as keyboardist taking over for his dad but has a way to go before he is at his Dad's level. If Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson had been there, this would have been a 5-star review.

As a guy who had his own band and played numerous SF venues, I have an deep appreciation for a live show where all the elements come together perfectly. Sometimes bands are 'on' while the hosting venues seem to be conducting an organized firedrill. Other times it's the venue that's comfortable and the band seems dazed as though set down on the stage by a promoter mothership with no direction or organization. Thursday nights double-bill of Asia and Yes at the Warfield was a perfect example of opportunity meeting preparedness. Not only did the bands deliver, but they seemed to almost sense they were participating in the venue's rebirth under the AEG group. Sure Asia's last show here in May when they snuck into town under the cover of darkness to play the Grand Ballroom was more enthusiastic and watching the new Yes without Jon Anderson feels a little like hearing a pick-up band. All that aside, everthing worked. The bands went on and off on schedule, the staff was courteous and enthusiastic, and the band swag was adequate (does anyone really NEED a signed lyric sheet or coffee mug?). Even the lighting was appropriate (except for that moment when Carl Palmer gestured for them to stop with the aircraft-landing-on-your-head spots during his solo). Bottom line, next time you read a favorite act is going to play here, put down the Wii, put Netflix on hold, make the effort to come, soak up the history of the venue as illustrated by classic photos on the walls, and thank one of the staff for keeping the grand Warfield rocking in the free world. #

The concert overall was excellent. How can you complain about seeing a favorite band closer than you would in an arena ? Alan White seemed to make a few mistakes, but everyone else was in true form. The new singer Benoit David was amazing. They played a great mix of older stuff from Fragile, Close to the Edge, Time and a Word,The Yes album and Drama. My only real big complaint was the wacky lighting. They had the bright lights that some performers use to illuminate the crowds. Unfortunately, they used them like strobes, flashing them on and off in time with certain parts of the songs. Then they changed from bright white light to red and yellow, but the annoying effect of being blinded (when we were all there to SEE the show)got old very fast.Musically it was great.

it was my first time seeing both these bands I really enjoyed the show...main reason for going to the warfield was to see Asia because they had cancelled last time they were in San Francisco I would have liked to hear more song from Asia. John Wetton's voice is still strong and Steve Howe was truly amazing on guitar especially doing double duty with both bands.

Better than expected. They both (Yes,Asia) still got it! Howe continues to bring it, Squire reigns supreme. New additions work well, singer...Great, Wakeman needs more time to show his talent (Was not featured much at all). Asia - Carl Palmer...Outstanding!!!!!

ASIA always amazes, John Wetton's voice, strong as ever...Carl Palmer is just about the best drummer on earth, Steve Howe is a guitar god and Jeff Downes keeps it all together! As for YES, well the lead singer who replaced Jon Anderson needs to tone down his jumping and wear clothing that does not make him look like a circus clown. I felt like I was watching a tribute band. Grow your hair, and fit in will ya? Seats were superb, always at the Warfield, great place for live music. ROCK ON!

Last night was my 8th time seeing Yes in the past 25 years and I can honestly say it was far from their best moment. The absence of Jon Anderson definitely shows. The Jon Anderson-less Drama album is one of my favorite Yes albums, so I went in with an open mind. Benoit David does a fine job singing the songs, although it seemed to me his voice was higher than Jon's ever was even in his prime. What turned me off more was watching someone try and act like Jon (even wore practically the same outfit Jon wore at one show in the past). I would have enjoyed the show more had Benoit been himself and not a wanna-be Jon. As for the music, I thought Yes was the loosest I have ever heard them. I'm not a stickler for perfection and I enjoy the occasional train wreck but it felt more like a half-hearted performance than what I've seen in the past from these guys. To sum it all up, more often than not I felt like I was watching a Yes tribute band with special guests Howe, Squire, and White instead of watching Yes with a new vocalist and keyboardist.

Starting with Asia... What can I say? Words cannot describe it! Not only did they play the most well know pieces of their repertioire (ending the show with Heat of the Moment), but played also some themes from their older bands! Imagine hearing, again live, In the court of the crimson king and the ELP/Asia rendition of Fanfarre for a Common Man!!! The Palmer solo was jaw dropping. Yes! Yes! OMG! Yes! Ecstatic, orgasmic, moments! Starting with songs from Close to the edge, it could not be better. Songs from Drama and 90210, and themes like Roundabout, made the show something I would like to see again! I would have liked to hear some Tormato music, but nothing is perfect, right?

Sounds a lot better than no, no, no, doesn't it! Great show. Asia was very entertaining and did a great job on King Crimson's "Court". Wetton's voice was strong! Yes was tight and Benoit has an incredible voice like Jon back in the day. Oliver was strong on keyboards. Steve still has all his chops and lots of energy. Chris's voice was as strong as his bass playing. And, Alan what can I say other than FANTASTIC! A good time was had by all.

the venue at the casino was very intamate, seating about 1000 people. asia started and did all their biger hits.the crowd was pleased, but the crowd was there for yes. after asia played their songs, the crowd gave polite applause. when yes came on ,the crowd became alive with anticipation. they played songs from the early years,i think the latest song was from Close to the edge album. the replacement singer was ok,but lacked the front-man expierience of Jon anderson. Even Chris squire seemed out of place being co-frontman. rick wakemans son,was certainly a talented musician, but hardly an entertainer.at time he just stood ,hands at side barely making a move.his inexpieriance in front of a crowd showed. overall,i am a rabid fan having seen them every tour since 1973. as with all forms of entertainment, there are good and bad shows.this one was between good and bad.

Asia and Yes both did very well last night. Asia got - by far - the most rousing response when they covered "Fanfare" - an Aaron Copeland tune that was famously adapted by Emerson Lake & Palmer so many years ago. While my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the older band members are clearly past their prime - the vocals not as powerful, the moves not so athletic but the enthusiasm was there - and that made all the difference.

I can't say enough good things about this concert! Always have been a YES fan , have seen them several times over the past few decades and I was not in any way disappointed in this incredible collection of talented musicians. Alan White was terrific as always and Oliver Wakeman was good. Squire and Howe were fabulous! They are so talented but something about this performance just transcended even that to make it so much more. The joy they all take in performing really came through. Benoit David was wonderful, and while I would have preferred to see and hear Jon Anderson I don't think anyone attending this concert would have given up the opportunity to hear an evening of unbelievable YES songs performed so well . It was just all around fantastic! If you are also an Asia fan then you have double the reasons to be thrilled with this show. They were also amazing, played a great, tight set and performed an entertaining and memorable collection of songs. Don't hesitiate on the opportunity to see this concert!

So, you re thinking, Yes without Jon, no way! Way. They were great last night. Oliver Wakeman, who we met after the show, is talented, capable, and fits in like a puzzle piece. He s also quite charming, just like his dad, who, as I pointed out to him, he looks remarkably like. Go figure. David Benoit is a revelation. My wife said that sometimes she closed her eyes and there was no perceptible difference between the many times we have heard Jon and last night s show, I have to agree. We got several tunes that I had never heard performed and a nice selection from the classic catalogue. You will not be disappointed. Asia we had never seen. There are three surprises in the set that I will not spoil. It s worth the price of the ticket just for that. They played a very full hour long set, and left us wanting more, though with Steve pulling double duty as lead guitar for both bands, I can see where 3 hours work is about all a guy substantially older than my 50 years can handle on a regular basis. If they come near you, go. You will not be sorry.

I've probably seen YES more times than any one band - and they did not disappoint. While I've always liked listening to Asia, I had never seen them live and in my humble opinion - they stole the show. YES, with their new lead singer and keyboard player played a lot of their big hits and a few obscure tunes - and all were very nice to listen to. The new Lead Singer (Benoit David) from Canada was great. A blind guy might not have even noticed Jon Anderson wasn't on stage. While in my opinion he has a better voice all around - he didn't quite seem to have the range that Anderson had. I hope Jon Anderson is able to make a comeback some day. Asia with, as Chris Squire put it, the hardest working man in the music industry - Steve Howe was fantastic. Great song selection and stage appeal made me glad I wasn't late for the opening act. I can't wait for them to tour again - It'll be on my list of shows to see in 2010.

Snoqualmie casino. Boy they sure are ruining that neighborhood. Beautiful place though. The seating for the buffet took so long that we only had time to scarf down one plate of dry fish, dry chicken and tough prime rib. For $22 not happy. Onto the show, Asia sounded good. John Wetton can still sing. Yes, in the absense of Jon Anderson finally played some Drama stuff(I've waited almost 30 years for that) Oliver Wakeman was just a hired hand. No solo or attention focused on him at all. Benoit sounds great(just like Jon). No epic pieces but a good span of catolog. Chrises bass died at the intro to tempus fugit so Steve played some interlude picken while we waited for the guitar change. This was the most "pop" set I've ever seen. These guys need to get back into the studio. I need to hear some new material.

Usually an opening band will play a few songs and then on to the main show. Asia played for an hour! They were fantastic. We had a small intermission and on to YES which was a little over two hours long. Talk about a band that can play! Both band's acoustics were phenomenal as they kept the audience entertained with their music and wit. If you haven't heard them live, you need to!!! YES with Asia is a must for anyone that enjoys keyboard synthesizers and guitars (of any kind).

Having seen Yes several times before, perhaps I am a little jaded. Nevertheless, I was a bit less than impressed with the show. Judging from other reviews, I may be in the minority here. So, take this review as it is; my subjective experience. I have never really been a fan of Asia. When their debut hit back in '82 I had such high hopes. However, the "popification" of prog rock was in full swing at this time. At any rate, Asia's show was an OK experience for me. The audience was very enthusiastic and supportive. My favorite piece was "Fanfare For The Common Man." The guys really let loose on this one. Yes' set began shortly after and pretty much began as they have numerous times before (Firebird opening, Siberian Khatru). Benoit David has done a very admirable job filling in for Jon Anderson. In my opinion, he sounds like Jon in his prime. I had some high expectations, looking forward to hearing "Tempus Fugit" and "Machine Messiah" from DRAMA; a Yes album that is polarizing among fans but one that has always been one of my favorites. Aside from Chris' minor bass meltdown that resulted in a false start on "Tempus Fugit," I was quite disappointed in the execution of this song. The studio cut has this vital, driving energy to it - largely because of Chris Squire's propelling bass line. This live version felt lifeless and muddy. Chris' bass sounded so overly processed by a flanger that there was no sense of that crucial drive or attention to the pulse. The band didn't gel on this tune at all. "Machine Messiah," however, was much more together. Good job on this tune. The overall sound was muddy and often revealed a lack of cohesiveness. This may be no fault of the band as the sound men may need to bear responsibility. Steve Howe mentioned something in passing after the show about some problems with the monitors. Speaking of Steve Howe, he was the most animated and enthusiastic I've seen him in years. Kuddos to Steve for giving it 110%. Overall, a somewhat disappointing experience for me. I was involved in a "Meet & Greet" opportunity after the show which I will elaborate on. DISCLAMER - TICKETMASTER BEARS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE "MEET & GREET." I PURCHASED THIS PACKAGE THROUGH ANOTHER VENDOR. HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT MY EXPERIENCE MAY BE INFORMATIVE TO OTHERS. Following the show, the six of us who purchased "Meet & Greet" packages were informed to meet next to the left side of the stage. We would be escorted to a "green room" where we would get the opportunity to meet Yes, get autographs and a photo with the band. After a brief delay we were escorted to the green room where Steve Howe, Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman awaited our arrival. Alan White and Chris Squire arrived shortly thereafter. Now, since I paid quite a bit for the Meet & Greet package (ca. $250), I really expected the chance to briefly speak to the band members. I was greatly disappointed. With the exception of Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman, who were genuinely gracious and appreciative of the fans, the other members, while not overtly rude, were less than enthused to engage in conversation. Granted, I understand that the band had to be tired (especially Steve who did double duty with Asia), but the six of us forked out some considerable money for this opportunity. When I attempted to engage band members, there was no eye contact or attempt at reciprocation. As we attempted our photos with the band, one member constantly complained that the photos needed to move along quicker as the band was exhausted. Really makes the fans feel important, doesn't it? Again, I understand that the band was tired. But, many of us work hard jobs too. As a teacher, I'm required to put on my best face for evening events even after a long day. I would suggest that in the future, "Meet & Greet" functions occur BEFORE the concert. I would also like to remind the band that their fans are their "bread & butter." The "Meet & Greet" was a learning experience. I will not put out the money for another one again. P.S. Our host who did his best to make our experience a positive one, had a lot to manage that night. No fault should lie with him. In fact, my thanks for putting up with the headaches and doing his best for us.

Since Alan White is on sick leave, Steve Howe is the only one left. The rest of them were joined as regular after 2010. Steve is 70% of Yes, so it's still Yes. Actually They all play as good as original ones. Base of Billy Sherwood sounds even better than Chris Squire's (R.I.P.). I am glad that I was there to hear my favorite yes album, Tales from Topographic Ocean. They played side 1 and 4, I wish they did 2 & 3 also. At the gift shop, They were selling a solo CD of Billy Sherwood and Homebrew 6 Steve Howe. Don't miss them. They were hand signed by Billy and Steve, Great albums!

I have seen them over two dozen times and in 2015 they still continue to impress. The set list was diverse, as unlike last year where they played cover-cover of Fragile and Close to The Edge, this year's show featured a nice mix of old (Time and A Word) mid (Tempus Fugit) and New (Heaven & Earth). The opening tribute to Chris Squire set to Onward from Tormato. It was sad yet incredibly beautiful and was the right touch to address his passing without dwelling on the loss. Billy Sherwood was solid and transformed his Spector bass into the haunting sounds of Squires classic Rickenbacker. Jon Davison once again sang to perfection, and Steve Howe is still the virtuoso at 68. The unsung hero's as always was Geoff and Alan who sat in the back and kept it all together. Yes will forever be one of the greatest touring acts around, and after nearly 5 decades, they continue to create beautiful music and memories for all that are fortunate to witness.

Toto opened with a lively set. Lukather was in great form as well as the rest of the notables in the group. They closed with energy for the segue to Yes. Having lost Chris Squire recently was a unexpected change to the line-up as Chris supplied a lot of talent and charisma to the show. With the group down from three (3) to two (2) original members [Alan White has earned this title being there abt 40-years], they still held the audience with enthusiasm and dedication on both sides. The sound levels were for seniors and noticeably lower than Toto who had more Rock-appropriate decibels. Not looking for ear-bleeding, but Rock really needs to be felt physically a bit more. A step-up in SPL would have been appropo. The performance was enjoyable, but relatively relaxed. Billy Sherwood (bass) had big-shoes to fill stepping in for Chris [Squire] and he did fill them...and then some. The composite was "Yes" in all their reflections and brought their historical and current significance to us once again with the complexity and diversity they are known for albeit with a wanting for a tad-bit more intensity. 1972 it was not. Then again, adding 43 years, it was a thrill to see them still engaged. Would I go again? - Yes (what answer did you expect). ©RumbleBox.

Granted, there were a lot of seniors in the audience, but a step-up in SPL would have been appropo. The performance was enjoyable, but relatively relaxed. My review is directed to the bands, easier than talking in 3rd person. Let me just say first, HUGE PROPS TO THE ROAD & STAGE CREWS, behind the scenes guys, who make it all happen, are nice but don't take crap. Thanks to the bands for sharing their lives and time(which is precious) in this intensive world tour! and also thanks for any little souvenirs given out to some of us non deserving lunatics up on the front row!, they're priceless .'] I wanted to review, but I don't tweet, so, I'm glad this opportunity came along to review... TOTO, is a major favorite band of mine now, I've seen you dudes finally in person, WOW!!!! I like that you're a little more power and rock and big love(not so twangy as sometimes in past)!!! I respect also, like happened to YES, that you've had band members pass on as well, sorry for your loss!! When I bought your 'TOTO XIV' CD in the lobby, I thought that'd be a cool souvenir, holy moley!!, my 300 mile drive home was just a momentary blurr just listening to the album over and over for 5 hours...WHY did you have to make my eyes go and do things that aren't manly to talk about in public!!! The jazzy songs are good(I'm not so much a Steely D__ type music person, more of a Pink Fl__d person), China Town is a way cool beat, I've passed through CT in SF once(I'll just think of all the good Chinese food). But, I've been in a tough life, and your music is a 'Band-Aid' let me tell you. Everyone on Earth needs to buy XIV, 'for the love of God' it's better than 'living in a van down by the river'!!! :) I feel like my 70's band YES was really there for me 'way back when' and has been there all along, thick or thin, great sound and even with some crazy words sometimes I still got the meaning of the rock, love and hope, and every one of the guys including Bill B, first Jon, and others and especially now Billy S honoring the memory of Chris Squire, mean everything in the world!!! I also liked Trevor Rabin's time too. All the respects to the present, previous, (future) and 'moved on...' members of the band YES. I got the YES t-shirt, not the ice-cream... And finally, music so good like this just proves that bands like Yes and TOTO are definitely not from this planet, super talented and wonderful aliens gracing us with their friendship....thanks a mega billion you dudes and dudetts... Thanks for playing in the deep south, home of the blues because we got the blues...

We had the VIP Fan pre-sale tickets, so our concert was even more special due to getting to meet Toto backstage pre-show and sit in on their sound check. Toto are consumate professionals and real down-to-earth guys who seemed genuinely thrilled to meet their best fans. The Toto show was a rocking great 90mins, with practically everyone standing and singing along the entire time. I've seen Toto a couple times before, but this was even better than those times. Higher energy, more fun, and the venue had perfect sound. An unforgettable summer night. While I'm not as big a fan of Yes, they played their most memorable songs, had a state-of-the-art psychedelic electronic backdrop, and had their fans engaged. It wasn't the intense excitement and fun that Toto brought, but it was a nice bonus.

I am extremely satisfied with Toto's VIP package. Their Meet & Greet, private show and Q&A was awesome enough, but then having the opportunity to shake hands, get autographs and photos and have a little 1-on-1 time was unforgettable. Not to mention, my 12-year-old son was allowed to take part too, and I'm grateful that they allowed kids to get VIP packages. The price is reasonable for the experience, for sure.

The 8-14-15 Concerts for both the bands Toto and Yes were fantastic. Both Toto and Yes played as many of their hits in the time they had. Each of the concerts could have played on for hours. Outdoor venue at the Rose Music Center was great, especially when having Front Row Tickets as I did. Wow!

Yes and Toto together. Not a pairing your would normally envision, but it worked well. Toto was great and they really enjoyed playing. My first thought when they hit the stage was "Who are these older guys?" LOL. But I have to remember I'm no spring chicken either and it has been 30 plus years since Toto had a majority of their hits. Yes, came out at 9pm and put on a great show with a very touching tribute to their late bass player Chris Squire. I will admit, Chris was my favorite member of the band and he was definitely missed, but the band played on and Billy Sherwood did a great job taking Chris' place. Yes covered a lot of their older but more notable material. The venue is brand new and I was pleased with the site. We had 5th row center seats which were great, but they do have the PIT seats jammed somewhat too close in my opinion. Almost like getting the center seat on a plane. Both bands took the stage right on time and everything seemed to be very well organized. We had bought a meet and greet package and my wife and I had a chance to meet Yes after the show. This was my second meeting with them and they seemed much more relaxed this time and I had a chance to have a nice, albeit, short conversation with each member. If you have a chance to seem them in concert, please go. You won't be disappointed.

Toto went on stage first and right on time too may I add. From the first note of the first song (Running Out Of Time) until about 5 minutes after the final note of the last song (Africa) the entire building was charged up and on fire. They had everyone rockin for the entire 90 minutes. Toto is a hidden secret in the USA for some unknown reason. I can't say the same for Europe. They are HUGE over seas. If you've never seen Toto live, do yourself a favor. GO. They are on tour in the U.S. currently. From today 8/11 in Brooklyn until a week or two into September. I didn't stay for Yes so I can't report on that part of the show.

Yes has been great over the years and this show at Thunder Valley was no exception. The new singer filled in great for Jon Anderson. Yes has always had a reputation for great fill in singers when Anderson couldn't go on tour. They played all the great older songs along with some really good new material. They don't have the power punch and intesity they did years back but they are a lot older. Also they only played for two hours. I think a evening with Yes should have been at least three hours.

This is the second time we ve seen Yes in as many years. They are so fortunate to have found Jon Davison - what a perfect Yes voice. Together with Steve Howe s immaculate guitars, Chris Squire s booming bass and Alan White s 'right on' percussion, they put a fantastic show in prime form! I was a little disappointed that there wasn t a Wakeman there at first, but it didn t take long to be awed by Geof Downes and his keyboards. WOW! The only thing that was extremely annoying and disruptive was security crawling thru the isles (making me move many times) to tell people to quit taking photos. Whats with that? Everybody knows not to use flash photography at a show of any kind, so the people taking pictures was not an issue at all but security was. If pictures are not allowed, say so on the ticket! I go to many concerts each year and this is the first in many years where they made a big deal about cameras. Time to get with the program!

Tremendous show! The first song of the evening was Close to the Edge. That alone justified the price of the ticket and they still had 18 more to go. Unexpectedly, they did SOON, which nearly brought me to tears. If you close your eyes you could not tell the difference between Jon and the new guy. Whether electric, acoustic, or slide guitar all licks were crisp despite Steve s age. The band was tight & the visuals were first rate and it was an exceptional evening at the Casino Ball room with 1800 fans. I saw yes in the 70s and 80s so my advice is to catch them while you can Time is an unforgiving master.

I have seen over a dozen yes concerts starting in 1976. I last saw them in Dayton when they were touring with Toto. This was not the Yes show I expected, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Opening with the album side length title track to Close To The Edge kind of set the tone for the evening, that they were going to play what they wanted, not necessarily what the audience wanted. The first set was practically devoid of any hits, while the second set trotted out a few more well known numbers. It wasn't until the encore that they played their most well known songs. They really dug deep into their catalog and pulled out some seldom heard gems. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the songs had never been played live before, or at least not in a long time, which is what I like. I wish more bands would do that. I'm getting tired of all the greatest hits tours where every time you see a band the set list is almost the same as last time. Anyway, I thought it was a very good concert. Each song was performed fabulously and in full length! Guitarist Steve Howe can still move his fingers nimbly enough to play the intricate parts expertly, and I thought replacement singer Jon Davison sounded just like Jon Anderson and sang each song beautifully, albeit minus the stage presence that Anderson has. Three small screens behind the band displayed images and videos related to the song, usually inspired by the album cover, which was cool. As a long time fan I enjoyed the show immensely! The highlights for me were "Parallels" from Going For The One, and "Does It Really Happen" from Drama. For serious fans this show had to be a treat, but I can see where casual fans may have been a bit disappointed. Oh well, there's always the other Yes you can go see.

Very enjoyable though to me it was apparent that the intricacies of their music is not an easy thing to re-create live. Having sad that great momentous songs and music which all seemed to pass by all to quickly. I bought Close to The Edge in 1971 and it took me 47 years to hear it live. It was well worth the wait !~!

Yes was fantastic, as usual. Totally great playing and song selection for their 50th Anniversary. Very enjoyable. The only problem was that the show was quite short. They cut, at least, 45 minutes from their set list all because it was at a casino! I asked the people why it was so short and the lady said, "they only got paid for 90 minutes and they played 95. You should be happy about that." !!?!

Longtime Yes fan and I have seen them perform with many different lineups. Interesting album choices. I get Drama because that was Geoff Downes first album but Tales from Topograhic Oceans was an interesting choice. Never my favorite album. They are such wonderful musicians that I enjoyed that part of the show but was really waiting for the final songs which did not disappoint. The tribute to John Wetton by playing Heat of the Moment was a nice finishing act. Sorry that Alan White was unable to play but his backup, Jay...., was amazing.

I expected they would perform at least 3-4 of their early songs, like "Long Distance Runaround"; "America"; "Close to the Edge"; "Owner of a Lonely Heart"; "Roundabout" for examples. The only older song they performed was "Roundabout" and that was their encore. They played well, have great voices, and overall performed well, but a few more older songs would have made the show more enjoyable. I really, for the life of me, cannot figure why they didn't perform "Long Distance Runaround" - it's their greatest song !!!!!! I will not see them again when they come to my area. On a positive note, tickets were just $35, so money was not wasted.

Following Yes' album series, they performed all of Drama, 1/2 of Tales from Topographic Oceans, 1/2 of Close to the Edge, and a few of their standard pop hits (i.e. Seen All Good People, Roundabout). Unfortunately, except for "Leaves of Green" from "The Ancient" Steve Howe didn't play any of his other usual acoustic numbers ("Mood for a Day", "Clap"). Although this isn't a band line-up I'm familiar with, Billy Sherwood did a fine job filling in for Chris Squire and Jon Davison did really well on lead vocals, guitar, and percussion. Alan White was out recovering from back surgery and although his sub was an excellent drummer, there were definite points when the band was out of sync with each other as they seemed to still struggle with the new drummer's tempo. Having played in bands in the past, I know what a necessary evil playing with subs in your band can be like.

As impressive as it was, I have seen Yes performances that blew this out of the water. Then again, this didn't really feel like Yes as I remember, with Jon Bill or Allan Rick and of course Chris (God rest his soul). That being said, they performed the task at hand quite well. Billy was amazing on bass. He resembles Chris in many aspects. He is definitely equally talented. Nice choice Steve! And Steve, btw, played good. I wasn't blown away by him, as I've been several times before. Then again he is aging, SO skinny and almost tired looking. There were some errored moments. Some technical, others performer slips. Probably unnoticeable to the normal ear, but as a perfectionist musician... I pick up on those things. The visuals were as impressive, if not more impressive, aiding my recommendation to see this show. The colors and amount of seemingly endless lights were spectacular!. All in complete timing and theme of each song. Both albums listed were played in their entireties, and then some. I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I won't list those. Go! Have fun, and let them know you are! Enjoy and Love On!

I was giving up on yes. It was disappointing to go to a concert and hear the yes album and close to the edge over and over. When you have as many studio albums as yes does, you want to hear more than they were giving. So when they started doing the album series, my interest peaked again. When they announced doing tales from topographic oceans and drama, I knew I was going. 40 yrs since I've heard that music. No way was I missing that. The venue, freedom hill amphitheater is an open air and perfect setting for yes music. The people who run it and their messed up policies are another story. The website said they had no camera policy. If the artist said no cameras, no cameras. I have never known the band to not allow picture taking at their shows. So when I get to the entrance, the people in charge say...no cameras allowed, but it's ok to bring in cell phones that take pictures and video???? I phones that can shoot better pictures and video than a lot of cameras??? Tell me, what is the difference? Luckily, I am smarter than their security and I got my camera passed them and took great pictures and video for my personal enjoyment and memories. Secondly, the theater was amazingly empty. The lawn had about 40 people and half of the pavilion looked unsold. It had to be disappointing to the band to look out on all the empty seats. But that didn't stop the theater's floor security people from hassling people who wanted to move and sit in an empty seat that belonged to nobody. I personally listened to one such argument. The overall experience convinced me I will not return to any show at freedom hill amphitheater. It just isn't worth it. The band was great however. I realized it was the first time I had seen the band without one original member. It was strange. It was great to hear the drama album because steve howe and Geoff downes had written much of the material and then I was so excited for side 1 and side 4 of topographic oceans. the bonus was the guitar solo with steve and the lead singer doing another piece from the album. it was also nice seeing billy Sherwood playing with them for the first time. billy does a great job in place of his friend and fellow band mate chirs squire. the performance was not quite as powerful as I had hoped and there were times steve sounded out of time with the band and other times when he sounded like he was hurting his fingers, but it all came together. they then threw in some of the old classics....all good people, Siberian khatru, and you and I....all in all, good seats, good music, good time...venue excluded go see them

I've been following them in concert since the early 70's and once again, the band was sensational . While the members of the band have changed, the music has not. Steve Howe remains one of my favorite musicians of all time. We all dearly miss Chis but fans should rest assured knowing that Billy Sherwood is simply amazing - a great musician with a very impressive stage presence. YES exemplified the beauty of mixing classical and rock into one. I've seen YES numerous times and they never cease to amaze. Regardless if your passion is guitar, base, keyboards or drums, YES provides a full array of showmanship and artistry. Jon Davidson sang beautifully and kept the spirit of YES flowing. The show brought back memories of pure talent, playing in harmony and no need for outlandish light shows and special effects. Simply come out and rock the audience. Saw Yes last year at the Warner with Fly From Here (a great album) and they came back this year with three whole classics. Back in the 70s saw Yes a bunch of time. The group always puts on a great show with their music as clear and strong as ever. Each musician in top form with Steve Howe brilliant. The new lead singer, Jon Davison, clearly enjoys being onstage with the band and does a credible job filling in for Jon Anderson although he doesn't seem to have quite Anderson's range or power. But it was Yes for sure.

the name says it all "YES" saw the group in Biluxi earlier this year they were good then, Now Jon Davidson has moved onward and upward. He is a very humble person. At the meet and greet I told him how much he had improved in the last 5 months and he said thanks, these were big shoes to fill and he had worked hard. It shows, thet did 3 full albums with only 20 min. break. If you get the chance say "YES"

YES,and Emerson,Lake & Palmer have always been tied for the World's Greatest Band Ever For Me since I was born, and growing up,and even still today...This was my 3rd. Lifetime Show...I saw them in 1994,and again in 2002 both times with a different lineup except this was the 1st time I've seen them without "The Great Jon Anderson",and I know what some out there think without Jon Anderson No-YES...Well this is not the case, because I was apprehensive too,and now I'm a believer Jon Davidson is an Extremely Strong Talented Vocalist he was spot on,and did Mr.Anderson justice as with the rest of the band...Also my favorite guitarist in the world Steve Howe was utterly fantastic, and so were Alan White,Geoff Downes, and "The Great Man Himself Chris Squire"...They played 3 of their Greatest Classic Albums:Close To The Edge,Going For the One,and The Yes Album with shear perfection...The entire Atlanta Symphony Hall which looked too be damn well sold out was totally blown away with their performance, including myself...I highly recommend anyone who loves YES,or just shear precision playing go,and see them...You'll not be let down...Also I recommend getting The Meet and Greet Package so you can get your photo taken with them also they include 3 autographs on separate items a special T-Shirt,A signed Close To The Edge Remastered C.D.,and a Poster, and they're really nice guys so get out there, and see these Rock Icons!!!

First time I purchased front row meet & greet tickets and I wasn't disappointed. They came onstage on-time and went right into Close to the Edge. They played the entire album. The sound was perfectly balanced as Chris Squire played every note I remember from this album. Steve Howe may look 80 years old but he's astounding still on lead guitar. Geoff Downes on keys did not disappoint and looked like he was having the time of his life. Of course Alan White on drums is as solid as they come and this newer guy, Jon Davison was, okay don't shoot me, probably better than Jon Anderson is now. Don't get me wrong. I saw Yes at an arena show in Tampa maybe 1974 and I was skeptical about a replacement for Anderson but I was blown away. He had all the nuances perfectly as they moved from Close to the Edge to Going for the One and ending, after an intermission, with The Yes Album. 3 full albums and an encore of Roundabout. After Led Zeppelin in 1973, I would say this Yes tour ties with Paul McCartney's 2002 Driving Tour as my all-time favorites.

This was at least the 8th time I have seen YES. I only went to see them because they were in my home town of Birmingham. I did not go see them a couple of years back with Benoit David as the lead singer because I wasn't overly impressed. That being said, I went into this concert with much anxiety and not expecting too much. I was transformed from the opening song to the very end, and wanted more. As no one can replace Jon Anderson as lead singer and front man, Jon Davidson did an outstanding job as the new lead singer. I was very impressed and amazed. Even my YES buddies who have seen them as much as me (or more), thought the same. I recommend this show very highly, and when it comes out on Blue-Ray in October, I will be one of the first in line to buy it.

Wow! What an awesome show! Although the concert was delayed over 2 hours due to air travel problems for the band they did not let this detract from putting on an incredible concert which consisted of 3 seminal albums from their illustrious body of work. Despite the fact that the band no longer tours with the original lead singer, Jon Anderson, and the sorrow and nostalgia that this causes, after witnessing this concert, i have concluded that maybe this is for the best. The current vocalist Jon Davidson performed magnificently in the same style and voice as Anderson and the muscianship of founding member Chris Squire and almost founding members Steve Howe and Alan White was so amazing that I would almost have to say they were better than in their heyday of youth in the 70's from which all the music originated. The sound quality was suberb as result of this muscianship and the near perfect accoustics of Jackson's Thalia Mara Hall. Oh, I would be remiss to fail to mention current lineup keyboardist, Geoff Downes who i believe played a stint in the band on a previous incarnation. He was exceptional! Fans of Yes know the many changes and constants in the bands history, both were present on Thursday, July 18, 2013 when despite the hour the band played it's entire concert of glorious musical masterpieces to an adoring audience and continued to cement their legendary place in annals of rock history! A show not to be missed by anyone who ever professed to be a fan of Yes!

What a great set. I had seen them do "Fragile", "Relayer" and a bunch of selected "best of" tracks, but what a pleasure to see the whole of both "Close to the Edge" and "The Yes Album" from start to finish. They still sound as great as ever (I saw them in 1972, 1995 and 2004) and Jon Davidson's voice is so close to the other Jon that it really makes no odds. He even adopts the same mannerisms, with the waving hands, hands on heart etc. They are a really tight band and although there is not much in the way of pyrotechnics (a couple of lasers and a film screen), they sound so great (faithful to the originals but with enough improv to keep things interesting) that the simplicity of the show actually adds to the experience. AND they played for over 2 1/2 hours. Should also add that Humphreys By the Bay is a fantastic concert venue. There is nothing like good music at night in the open air - and the beer selection is just awesome.
