The Saturday night game (12/26) game was my families first and last hockey game. A native Detroiter I KNOW Hockey and the Checkers Players were NOT hockey players, they were elephants on skates. Terrible is all I can say. In addition since we bought our tickets on-line via ticket master we were promised T-Shirts. We were second in line to get them and they refused to give them to us because we had no voucher. We talked to 10 people and got 10 different stories, none of them matched up and in the end we received no t-shirts, and walked out midway through the 2nd period because the Checkers played midget hockey at best. Very Poor fan service, and fan treatment off the ice and a very poor product on the ice. We will NEVER go back. Welcome to single-A Hockey Town were we want your money and not your return business.

The event was terrific. However, Ticket Master ran a promotion for a free T-shirt for the 1st 1500 people in the door and that did not happen. We had 3 disappointed children and 2 disappointed grandparents.

My fiance' and I brought tickets for my parents and brother for Christmas. We specifically brought tickets for December 26th because they were having a special.... free tee-shirt... I made a big deal about the promotion to my family and we were off... When we got there... of course...... there was a long line...we waited in line for 15 minutes and a manager came over and said. " this was the first time they did a promotion with ticket master, and they didn't have enough tee-shirts...... He was randomly picking people in line.. u guessed I got picked and told his...sorry no soup for you..... I was really embarrassed because I told everyone they were going to get one... I enjoyed the Hockey Game... but come on...if you are having a promotion.........Do it RIGHT!

My wife and I took our seven year old daughter and found the game exciting (except for a few beer drinking loud mouths) with entertaining events between the periods. It kept all of our attention and I would recommend a Checkers game as a great value for the price. We will certainly be going back.

We had a great time at the Checkers game this weekend. This was the first hockey game for my children and they had a blast. Everyone made us feel so welcome. We drove an hour to come see the checkers and hope to return soon. Wish we were closer, it would be hard to keep us away!

Went and visited my girlfriend and decided to take in a hockey game. Was great. No waiting in ticket lines, walked right in, great seats, walked around and went to Whiskey River, had a great evening with my girlfriend. We really enjoyed the evening.

We had an Awesome time at the Charlotte Checkers Game at Bojangles Arena. The venue is great for hockey. The game was Awesome, as was the crowd. We had so much fun. We would recommend it to anyone to at least give it a try, even if you're not a big time hockey fan.

I enjoyed the event. Parking was easy and reasonable. We had great seats and it's a nice venue for minor league hockey. If I lived in Charlotte, I would go to more games. The only down size is fans that sit behind the opposing teams penalty box. There were 3 guys who ran their mouths to the Pens players when they were in the penalty box. I think you should kick them out or at a minimum move them away from the penalty box. Everybody is a tough guy when there is glass in front of them. Just no need for it,

This was the first hockey game we attended in years and the Charlotte Checkers did not disappoint. The game was great! We witnessed some history as the goalie became on the fourth goalie in AHL history to score a goal. The Bojangles Coliseum is a good venue as the seats and view were quite good even though we were seated fairly high up. We will definitely go again.

Amazing team and an amazing game but the venue is so old I felt like I was in a high school gym out in the middle of nowhere. The lines were so long for a beer, that had I stood in line for a beer I would ve missed the rest of the game.

The hockey playing is great, however the venue itself stinks. You have to pay over priced parking, and sit in tiniest seat known to man. I'm not sure why they have not yet upgraded the seats in that place. Also, ticket area is clueless when it comes to whats available and not.

Drove 350+ miles to see a family friend participate in professional hockey game. Wasn't sure what to expect with the arena being 60+ years old. It was a very family friendly venue and very easy to navigate. Concessions were plentiful and for the most part reasonable for a pro sporting event. There was plenty of other entertainment during game stoppages that kept the fan engaged. I would highly recommend this facility. BTW, I saw two games, one Saturday night and one Sunday afternoon. The family friend scored a goal in both games.

We had a blast at the Checkers game on 1/16/2018. The entire crew is friendly - from the cheerleaders, to the ushers and the ticket takers - we felt welcome from the moment we walked in the door. They keep the entire game exciting from fun games on the ice during breaks and keeping the music lively and funny videos on the screen. This is a great night out for couples or for entire families!

We took five of our family members with us to 1950 s night. All seven of us really enjoyed the event. The game was exciting to see the Checkers pull a 3 point lead. (We had to leave in the 3rd quarter for early work days). And the fights are sure to spark an adrenalin rush. The arena is easy access to concessions and bathrooms. We had a great time! We will definitely go again! Thanks for a memorable evening!

We purchased 2x $27 tickets, which cost $35 each after taxes and fees. We ate at The Red Line Club. The food was mediocre but the setting was neat and it was pretty cool to see the players walk through the middle of the restaurant on their way to the ice. The game was good and despite the arena being very old, it was better than expected. I would highly recommend seeing a game in person if you enjoy fun hockey.

Unbelievable skill. Skating, keeping control of the puck, watching teammates for a pass, watching the goal for a score all while keeping the puck from the opponents. It was intense!! The opponents, Manitoba Moose, played very well too. Checkers won 3-2 but it didn't come easy! My husband and I took our children ages 19 & 21 ( boy & girl) and they loved it as well. Everyone agreed we will attend another game!! Awesome interaction with the crowd. Prices were affordable. There really aren't any "bad" seats at the Bojangles arena.

This event is a fun time for families and a great date night idea. The tickets themselves are not too expensive but the Ticketmaster charges do add up, which is unfortunate. There would be more people interested in going if those secondary charged were not so high.

The game itself was wonderful my seats however were not. I was excite purchasing front row seats behind the players bench for the first time with my two children. only to be seated behind hockey sticks and unable to see the ice player without standing up and blocking other people. There was no warning that the view would be unstructed by equipment when i purchased the tickets and spent over 146.00...

The game was amazing. Not only did the Checkers come back from being down 4-1 to win in overtime, but the atmosphere was amazing too. The crowd got into the game (cowbells included) and the mascots were entertaining. I actually found the crowd to nicer than those at Canes game. In the area I sat, there was less swearing, less alcohol consumption, and people were generally friendlier than many of the Canes games I have gone to at PNC. If you are looking for something to do as a family, I would highly recommend the Checkers games when they are in Raleigh (I cannot speak for when they are in Charlotte).

I had never been to an ice hockey game before, and decided to take my grandson who is 8. We have had Panthers tickets since 'day 1', and have had full season tickets to the Bobcats since the arena was completed. But as many times and I heard about the "Checkers" on the radio, I never had any interest. The Bobcats have allowed season ticket holders to skate on the arena ice for two years now, and my grandson loved ice skating. After taking him to Extreme Ice rink three times, I thought he might like seeing how men can use the skill of ice skating. I LOVED IT!! The event was bright and alive, the venue was much more intimate than either of our season ticket sports, and the crowd was really 'into' it. I told my husband that I wished we had tickets regularly, and although he didn't pay much attention, I will continue to try to get him interested so we can go more often.

Great family entertainment watching our favorite sport! Arena was easy to get to and parking was not an issue. Food and drink prices were not unreasonable although drinks were not convenient to get on the upper level. Staff was friendly and helpful. The game was exciting and held our interest.

My family and I attended the checkers game against Lake Erie on Monday and it was great my 4 year old hearing impaired son got chosen to be the chik-fil-a stick boy for the evening. He loves his new hockey stick and that will be a day I will never forget

Our seats ended up being right behind the opposing team which isn't a bad spot, except the team placed their hockey sticks right in front of our four seats so we couldn't see for the entire length of the game. The team refused to move them when asked.

I am far from a hockey newbie having lived in Detroit and Buffalo. I really love the AHL level of play which is 100x better than the ECHL. The players on this team are great people too. This was the Checkers' 7th game in 9 days in 6 different cities. They played at home Thursday, bussed it to Norfolk for a long game Friday which went to a shootout, then came back to Charlotte for this Saturday game. They were outplayed badly at first but rebounded nicely. It was an interesting game with only 1 goal scored and former ECHL Checker Didomete getting ejecting for a check to the head. The Checkers, backed by the crowd, picked it up and got through the game for the win. The official attendance was 12,933 - the largest for a hockey game in Charlotte. This was facilitated by a backpack giveaway and also by 2 for 1 tickets. If you are an NHL fan and have yet to go to an AHL game, you'll be pleasantly surprised. A Checkers game is the most entertaing and best value sports option in Charlotte.

If you enjoy hockey the Charlotte Checkers have what it takes to be successful in an area filled with sports. They did not disappoint! Being a hockey fan and attending Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh since they moved from Hartford, I was pleasantly surprised at the minor league play. The venue was great, comfortable seating, and lots of entertainment in between periods of play. There are lots of restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat at the arena.

I enjoyed the game after my husband and I changed seats. I purchased more expensive seats, which I thought would be better. The seats were right behind the penalty box. So you were having to look around the players in the box, the officials in the box (3 guys) and security that stands at the box (to keep you from messing with the players in the box). It would have been nice if this was mentioned prior to submitting the purchase.

The Checkers did a promo where if they got to 10k fans on Facebook, they would give away free tickets for the final regular season ECHL home game. They met and exceeded that goal and made good on their promise. The experiience was enjoyable and entertaining as always. I go to a lot of games as it is, but this one was nice and we had great seats. The Checkers closed the deal when Andrew Carroll scored with 28.5 seconds left in overtime.

Always enjoy attending a Checkers game with my family. Great hockey and at a reasonable price. Would recommend for young children also who may want to get introduced to the sport. Chubby walks around and greets children.

Even if you're not a hockey fan, these games are so much fun!! This game is all about skill. Who else could speed skate on ice skates while keeping up with the puck and pass to teammates to score! Highly recommend!

This is our 3rd season going to Checkers games and love it. The home opener was a great game and exciting, even though we lost. It was a great evening, and went to the Red Line Club for the 1st time ever. Good food and great service, though a little on the pricey side. The Garbage Can Burger was out of this world and could feed 3 people. My only complaint, is this was to be a special night for our son, because Checkers home opener was all he's talk about for literally a month. We splurged and purchased rink side seats. We were on Row B and those had to be the most uncomfortable seats in the Coliseum!!! Absolutely NO leg room and very narrow seats. We'll stick to the "cheap seats" from now on. It appeared that Row A and Row C have much more leg rooom.

Great Season ending game. Our team played hard. Seemed to be more venders. One vender ran out of food!?! I mean, it was going to be busy; it was the last game. I wish the original announcer was there, he has the best voice, and I'm just used to it. However, this is all minor, in the grand scheme of things, I was happy, and look forward to next season!

Took the family and a friend to the Saturday night game, everyone had a great time. Checkers won 9-3. Wow! Took my daughter to the Sunday game compliments of the Checkers, thanks again! We also had a great time! Checkers won 3-1.

The Charlotte Checkers offer the premier sports value in Charlotte. Season tickets value is outstanding, as is single game price. The players, given that every game is a try out for the NHL leave their all out on the ice. More people should be supporting this team through the purchase of season tickets or partial season ticket fans.
