Against Me!

If you want to experience a true Punk Rock concert with everything involved, Against Me! Is for you! Incredible musical performance, at Home punk community and the most adrenaline pumping mosh pit ever!

I wasn't too familiar with the two opening bands before the show (Bleached and The Dirty Nil) but they were amazing. Tons of energy. And of course Against Me! was phenomenonal! They ripped their way through 25+ songs in a couple of hours. It was absolutely incredible. Never a dull moment. I'm definitely seeing them the next time they come around.

Sometimes I have to remind myself Against Me! is a real band and not just a perfect band I've imagined in my head. Also, every time I see Against Me!, I start the night being more of an observer than a participant, but the band quickly pulls me in and before I know it, I'm front and center and my best friend is losing his glasses only to find them completely in tact on the floor 3 songs later. Against Me! fans are some of the best people on the planet; before we knew it, everyone around us was looking for this pair of glasses. There is a true sense of camaraderie amongst everyone. I often find myself craving to see Against Me! like someone on a deserted island would crave a T-bone steak. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how perfect Laura Jane Grace is. She's engaging, thought-provoking, and always so kind to fans after the show. Laura put her entire life and career on the line and the band has come back stronger than ever. I imagine anyone who hasn't seen Against Me! before probably leads an unfulfilling life. If you don't want to die miserable one day, go see Against Me!

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I SEE AGAINST ME AND WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED. IT WAS LIKE BEING AT A PARTY WHERE THE DJ ONLY PLAYED THE BEST MUSIC. AGAINST ME DEFINATELY KEPT THE PARTY GOING NONSTOP. IF CONCERTS ARE MENT TO SELL/PROMOTE MUSIC THEN THIS SHOW SURELY DID THAT. I AM NOW A DEVOTED FAN. I ALSO LIKED THE VENUE, IT IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A GOOD TIME. I MEAN IF YOU WANT TO GO DOWN TO THE MOSH PIT...IT'S THERE WAITING FOR YOU!!! IF YOU'D RATHER STAY SEATED AND ENJOY THE SHOW (WITH A PERFECT VIEW) THEN YOU GOT THE BALCONY. UPSTAIRS WAS LIKE AN ULTRA LOUNGE FILLED WITH LIKEMINDED PEOPLE ALL HAPPY TO BE THERE. LOVED IT. LOVED IT. LOVED IT!!!!

Against me was great as always. I will admit, I was a little sad when I heard them sing that Teenage Anarchist song (which I dislike) on KRock recently, but this show made up for any ill will harbored because of it. Everyone sang every word, even the newer stuff which I wasn't as familiar with, but the crowd was very energetic and positive, and the band still rules. Tom Gable's hair is super long now.

the show was at The Music Box in Hollywood. i've known the place as The Henry Fonda Theatre. it's a great venue, but make sure to specify whether you want to be on the floor or seated in the balcony. depending on your ticket, the security will issue you a colored wristband, allowing admittance in one, but not the other. the opening bands weren't very good, but Against Me! was more than worth the full price of the ticket. they played with precision and energy that very few bands have achieved. as far as their set, it was wall-to-wall super hits. if you were at this show, they would have surely performed some of your favorite songs. make sure to catch Against Me! the next time they're in your area; you will not be disappointed.

Against Me! never disappoints. I was also surprised by how awesome Fake Problems was. We ended up picking up a few of their cds. The other two bands weren't bad, but not really my cup of tea. Fences definitely sounded nothing like Against Me! and I was surprised at the selection of that band. For old school fans who were disappointed with White Crosses. The songs from that album sounded waaay better live. A lot more like their hardcore sound, than that horrible canned sound the album has.

These guys were unbelievable. Great performance, great showmanship, and they really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Sound was great as well. One of the best live shows I have been to and I have been to alot. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SHOW!!

Aside from the audience, it was one of the best shows I've been to.

Making a "Rock Dream" come true for my husband, I bought us Against Me! tics for Christmas. We were about 10 feet away, the energy was great, and they sounded superb! They played a variety of songs from different albums and their energy never waivered through the 60+ minute set. Amazing!!!!

This band brings an incredible energy level to every performance (4th time I've seen them.) They deserve a much larger audience. Tom Gabel is a brilliant song writer and performer---his critics remind me of those who constantly criticized Dylan for never standing in one place---we need to enjoy watching the artist grow, as is happening with Mr. Gabel and his terrific band!

The two opening bands were not the greatest but when Against Me! came on they room was alive. The band was really good they had so much energy, true to the music. The staff at the masquerade was great too.

The Young livers playing was pretty good but their singing was off pitch most of the performance it actually felt like your ears were gonna bleed. When they finished it was a huge relief. The Flatliners were amazing, energetic. The playing and singing was phenomenal and the singer got really involved with the audience making jokes and having a blast. We were wondering if against me could top that show and guess what they totally did. Against me was all in it laughing, joking and playing amazingly. So yes i recommend this show in the future I just wish they would change the first act.

Don't miss what is most likely going to be your last chance to catch this band in a smaller venue as they are poised to become HUGE with the upcoming release of their latest album, "White Crosses", which just might do for them what "Dookie" did for Green Day & "Nevermind" did for Nirvana. Yes, it's that good & while older fans may cry "sellout" (like the couple who literally gave the finger during EVERY song recorded after "Searching For A Former Clarity"- get lives, people. Why is it musicians sometimes seem to grow up quicker than their fans?), newer fans will no doubt be drawn in by the band's more "polished", radio-friendly sound. But make no mistake, the new songs come across just as "punk" as the band's older material live & they delivered a blistering set focusing heavily on the upcoming album & 2007's major label debut "New Wave". I won't ruin the setlist for those who like to be surprised, but I will say this, older, die-hard fans of Against Me! will enjoy some "classics" from the band's earlier days, but these guys are clearly focused on the present. And if "White Crosses" does what I'm pretty sure it's going to do for Against Me!, the future looks pretty bright as well. On a side note, don't miss openers Dead To Me, who also delivered a strong, if short set of punk tunes well worth checking out!

Against Me! is always amazing. Venue's drinks where a bit overpriced.

I'm one of those old school Against Me! fans that doesn't dig their new material. But their live shows never disappoint. The set was awesome, at times I thought they played too much new material, but they are trying to promote a new album. Besides, the older stuff they played more than made up for everything. The encore was amazing (4 songs!) and they picked a good sized venue.

Words cannot describe how awesome Against me! is...they are so great! You can not stand still at one of their concerts and Stone Pony is always a great legendary venue! I cannot wait to see them play again! Keep it up Against me!!!!!!! cuz you ROCK!

Great mix of older rawer more stripped down material and their newer, fuller sound. All great material -- it balances well. Great live band -- very tuned in to the crowd.

My friends and I arrived a bit late, missed Ninja Gun tho I checked them out on myspace and can't say I missed much (just not my taste). We got there after Tim Barry had started, made getting into The Social a bit easier/quicker but missed out on prime standing room. We found some places to stand and get some good pics. One of my friends got a photographer's pass from Warner Bros. Records and just moved through the crowd taking tons of pics. Tim Barry played with a broken hand but was still amazing. When Against Me! came on, they had the place jumping. After the show was over Tim Barry played a song outside on the sidewalk and it was epic.

This band is great. They have old school style and capture the essence of punk and add their own style with great melodies and riffs. They're one of those bands you don't get tired of listening to. We're happy they're around and remember that even in Miami there are a lot of us that like good punk rock music!

Amazing energy at this show! I received my ticket as an early birthday gift and it was the best birthday present ever! Absolutely loved Against Me! and was pleasantly surprised by Annie Girl and the Flight, some great dreamy, psychedelic type rock. The venue was also good, a nice atmosphere, decently priced food, and nice and clean as well.

This show was really good! Against Me! Has always been a band I've enjoyed and if I could see them play live every night I most definitely would!

I have seen the band before and while they don't seem to have the backing they used to, the sound and energy hasn't lost a bit. Highly energetic and worth the money for sure.

I've been following Against Me! since the days they played basements and dive bars, but hadn't seen them in six years before this show. I can honestly say that they are playing with as much or more intensity as those early days. Yes, the venues are a bit larger and polished, and yes the bass player and drummer are relatively new to the band, but you can tell how much fun they're having today. This group really vibes with each other. The set list was an excellent mix of new and old songs, allowing new fans and old fans a chance to sing/shout along, and giving each group a chance to give the stuff they aren't familiar with...another chance.

The show was amazing as always. Against Me! put on a wicked awesome set. I was really impressed with Frank Iero and the Cellebration. Overall, a great night of music!

Against me! always puts on a great show. I never miss them when they're in town and have even traveled far to see them. I wish they would stop using the Culture Room when they come to SoFla- it's waaaay too small of a venue for them and the energy they pack. Love these guys and gal ;) !!! New drummer is amazing!!!

Against Me! is always fantastic and this show was no exception. Laura crowd-surfed and the whole band was energetic and played very well.

From the first song to the last the energy was non-stop! The band never missed a beat & Laura Jane Grace was unreal. One the most inspiring people in music. She never stopped. From the first song, Fuckmylife666 to the last, We Laugh at Danger she had the crowd in palm of her hand. I would see them again tomorrow if I could. The best band playing!

Couldn't have asked for a better time. Loved the venue, always appreciate their choice in tour mates. Against me! took the stage with force, perfectly mixing their classics with tunes from T.D.Blues. Played a solid 90 minute set plus encore. Kept the pace at a fever pitch. Even came outside to hang with us fan geeks after. Laura Jane Grace rocks just as hard as Tom ever did.

I was surprised to see a teenage crowd on the line outside Webster Hall, but it turned out to be for another show in the basement. I'm 29 and once inside I didn't feel too old. That is, until I stage dived and injured my knee!

Their stage performance was great. The crowd was really into the music. They played some old songs ans their latest songs.

I love Against Me! so it was already going to be an amazing show. You could just tell the band was having so much fun on stage. Laura had a huge smile on her face the whole time, and the bassist was really into the music. It was a great mix of old and new songs. High energy the whole time. I can't wait to see them again!

This was, honestly, one of the top 3-shows I've ever been to. As usual, Against Me! brought their high energy to the stage and played everything I wanted to hear....something from all of their albums, old and new. It was just perfect. A must see band in your life.

I admit that I did not know of Against Me! until I saw them open for The Cult two years ago. Then, I was blown away by the energy of the band, the fans and their connection. At 42, I'm too old for the mosh pit but the power of the songs and the energy was off the charts. Great band, great fans. Wish I had got on board a long time ago.

No words, truly an amazing band. Their live performances are even better than I could have imagined.

This was an outstanding performance! I have seen Against Me in three different venues. The acoustics were great, the music was wonderful, and it was a fantastic concert. Laura Jane Grace is in her glory on stage and gets better with each performance. She is a great crowd pleaser, while her music is original and passionate. I hope to enjoy her live performance again in the near future.

This was a three band event with Annie Girl and the Flight opening - they were OK the bassist was a bit stiff and the lead guitar tried too hard. Then Frank Iero andthe Cellabration hit the stage - clearly professional mussicians the difference in showman ship was like night and day. I didn't stay for the headliner Against Me! but I did hear a few of thier songs - they sucked something awful.

The sound quality at Mercury Ballroom is excellent. I can't wait to see more shows at the venue. The opening acts Worriers, and Creepoid alone were worth the price of admission. If you have never heard them check them out on spotify. Now to Against Me. I believe they played 19 songs then a 4 song oncore. Not a dull moment and they waste no time. Laura blazes through without missing a beat. She makes the crowd feel as if they are just as important as the music itself.

This is the second time I have seen Against Me! this year. The concert in Houston twas the most energising since I saw Nirvana pre-Teen Spirit (I am that old). Against Me! have the same energy but have added something more, a positivism instead of the nihilism of punk. This concert confirmed that Against Me! are at their peak. They produced a perfectly sequenced album this year with no unessential songs,, the new rhythm section is as good as the old line up, and they are simply the best live band playing today.

The band plays songs old and new. They're always full of energy and they plays staples on their music but always incorporate some songs I've never heard them play.

I've been a fan for about 10 years now. I've seen almost once a year since 2003. They still play all of the best songs, all the way back to Axl Rose, and while you may come hoping to hear ONE SINGLE SONG and get disappointed, if you appreciate their albums overall you'll get a taste of everything. Laura (ex Tom) is recognizable, though if I'm allowed to comment as a mere fan, she looks to be a noticeably happier person. Her voice is mostly in tact, straining though a few times, ironically on a song like Ocean. The backup vocals keep the songs strong and I can't wait to hear what they sound like as her progression continues.

This was the fourth time I've seen Against Me! and definitely the best out of them. Luckily, I got to see them on the second day of tour after a two-month break, so they guys were refreshed and ready to rock. Everybody, band and audience alike, was full of energy, screaming the words to the songs and generally having a great time. The setlist was an absolutely perfect mix of old and new songs. Jay Weinburg, the touring drummer, was full of energy and into all of the songs. Tom Gabel, the lead singer, looked like he was 18 and full of energy. Andrew Seward, the bassist, was really into the show, getting the crowd to move. James Bowman, the rhythm guitarist, was great, playing all of the songs with a fierce and purposeful energy. And that's really how I would describe the entire show: Energy. It was a fantastic, memorable time and I can't wait to see them again!

My friends and I drove from Chicago to Toledo to see our favorite band perform. The venue was a pretty small bar with a decent size stage and open area, which is what I think is best for these kind of shows. Dead to Me opened and really set the right mood for the show. Then when Against Me! came on, it was unforgettable. The energy was high and everyone in the audience had a powerful communion of such intense excitement and unity; by far the best crowd I've ever been in. I loved every second of this concert.

Against Me puts on an excellent show. This was my third time seeing them. Great to have them headline a small club. I saw them when they opened for Green Day earlier this year in an arena setting. This intimate club was a better experience. Against Me played all the songs I hoped they would. Terrific set list. Only complaint is not about the band or the club but there is no dedicated parking for the club. I almost gave up on trying to find a parking spot we drove around for so long looking.

great venue with excellent sound system. Against Me was awesome. Played all the favorites and new songs were well integrated. had good rapport with the audience! Nice and enthusiastic crowd. Only drawback was VERY challenging parking. Ended up in a questionable space hoping the car didn't get towed.

I became a fan years ago from the Thrash Unreal video and wasn't sure what to expect particularly voice-wise. It all sounded the same and I realized I have some ignorance on my part. Good music, good show, good times. This band and Laura Jane have earned and deserve support.

The Paramount is a great venue. I'm 48 and I took my daughter to see Against Me!, general admission. Not knowing what I was in for, mosh pit and crowd surfing...lol. We had a blast! All the bands were great but Against Me! was phenominal, I'm a fan!

Against Me! put's on a phenomenal live show, it truly boggles my mind that they aren't more popular! Super high energy and they're also one of the coolest and most accessible bands as well. Can't recommend a show highly enough!

This was the second time I saw this band at the Old National Center. They were really outstanding and delivered. Every person in the room was singing along and happy. No one seemed let down or bored.

This is the third time I have seen Against me live and the second time in Boston. They just keep the hits coming and always busting out some classics! Also heard a cover song this time around which was new to me and awesome!

This band is consistently full of raw energy and power! Every time I've seen them, they have put on a mind blowing show! Laura Jane Grace is an incredible frontwoman and her band matches her energy and talent. The opener (I wish I remembered how name!) was fantastic and had a great presence for a solo act. The crowd was the nicest crowd I've been part of in a long time. The venue was fantastic as always; very intimate. All in all, it was exactly the experience I wanted!

Against Me! and Frnk Iero and the Cellabrations brought out a fantastic crowd that enjoyed dancing, jumping around and singing to incredible punk music.

Overall, an amazing show! Birthday Boy, Saint Alvia and Against Me! put on a tremendous high-energy show. The laid-back rocker style of Saint Alvia's lead singer was a perfect primer for the relentless driving force of Against Me!'s set. The venue was great as well. Sound and lights were good for a smaller venue and the sound was among the best I have heard. It paralleled only the Tabernacle in Atlanta for sound quality at a rock show. The ONLY negative (-1 star) was the stage security at Mod Club. People were having fun, crowd surfing, dancing etc. but throughout Against Me!'s set, they were also making their way on stage, some for prolonged periods. There was a very weak attempt by ONE guy to get them off stage but it was futile. This eventually annoyed the lead singer of Against Me! At one point the bassist moved in front of him to prevent people singing in his mic and touching him... Step it up Mod Club!!! I paid to see Against Me! not some random stage crashers trying to be cool!

Against Me was great! Could have done without the opening acts though! They didn't play some of my favorites, like Stop and From Her Lips to God's Ears. :(

Against Me! completely owned the show, as they should, 'cause they're awesome. I loved their setlist, though it surprised me that they didn't start with "Pints of Guinness Make You Strong" I thought they always started with that song (mainly 'cause they did the other 2 times I saw them). But they played that song 2nd, so oh well haha. Anyway, Against Me! was amazing. With regards to the opening acts, Dave Hause was also quite good. I had never heard of him before the concert, but I thoroughly enjoyed his set. The other opener however, was the opposite. We Were Skeletons, a local band from Lancaster...I hated them. The guitar/drums in their stuff was cool, but as soon as any vocals started it was ruined. All they did was scream, and nothing they said could be understood. I was pretty sure they weren't even saying actual words. Though I will say that the initial 5 minutes of noise and then hearing how silly the one guy's voice when he talks is made it slightly worth it. As for the venue, it was nice, if a bit small. The drinks weren't too overpriced, at least the non-alcoholic ones anyway. I'm only 19, so I couldn't even go up to where the that stuff was, so I'm not sure what those prices were like. Overall it was an awesome show and Against Me! did not disappoint (like they ever could).

The band played a relentless set of about 18 songs or so. Some people claim they've gotten soft on their albums lately, but they play the songs much heavier at live performances. Great show!

The opening bands were a bit indy for my taste but they are not why i went. Against me is always great band live and they always meet my high expectations. The venue was small enough to get right up front with minimal effort. Great show!!

The opening acts were ok, Lemuria was indie and ordinary but not bad to listen to. Screaming Females were very good actually. I ended up buying one of there CDs the next day. Against Me put on a great show, the set list was amazing, and they never stopped. They played one right after the other and the songs, even ones I didn't know well were great. Great energy from the crowd and awesome music. The downside of the whole thing was $5 bottles of water and I was in the pit from start to finish dying of thirst. I spent $20 on water and it didn't do any good.

Unforgettable. The audience was wild, but with such a positive charge! For a band about political angst, it was such an upbeat environment. Beware of moshing, crowd surfing, stage rushing, and spilled beer =)

Against Me! was great, and I enjoyed the show. My only complaint (coming from a musician standpoint) is that the tunes are far too short. I am a fan of their music, so I guess I saw this coming, however I guess just seeing it live bothered me more. I wish songs had been developed (maybe add in a solo?), but it was more a series of 2-3 minute songs connected, which I guess is OK. Okay that aside, the sound was great, crowd energy was great, and I had a great time regardless so it's a minor complaint I suppose.
