What an atmosphere! I was in red for the ponies (SMU '74), and my sons wore their purple, (TCU 08). The game was great fun but, the parking was lousy . Next year have it at the Cotton Bowl to open the State Fair!!!!!

Love to go to the Mustang games at Ford Stadium! So fun! Great for families as well! Highly Recommend SMU football games. The campus is beautiful, hosts always friendly and helpful and the student body is full of class and enthusiasm! Event logistics are well-planned by the university staff.

The students were terrible. We watch several get thrown out. I was there with my 11 year old son and he had to listen to the SMU students curse and call the other teams fans names. I must say the TCU fans were much better sports. I was there as a fan of SMU, not anymore.

Seats were on the 50 yard line and quite good. Did not mind being surrounded by Mustang fans, HOWEVER.............was appalled at the obnoxious rudeness of cheering section yelling during the TCU alma mater and irritated at the loud music from the large TV screen which had nothing to do with football and unnecessary during the game. Whatever happened to "good ole college bands" playing? Also, found the announcer quite biased (but since that's his home turf, guess it should be expected). Other than these, it was a great experience and SMU played extremely well. A good game!

The Mustangs played the Frogs tightly through more of the game than I expected -- into the fourth quarter. Ultimately the Frogs' depth and stamina won out, but the Mustangs were up for the game and exposed some of the Frogs' weaknesses.

I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to pickup my tickets at Will Call window then I had to wait another 20 minutes to be screened to get to the gate. People were in wrong seats, there were no ushers or folks to help with seating. It was uncomfortable and chaotic. SMU is not ready to host a full stadium. They should have been prepared.

The game, of course, was AWESOME! All credit to SMU for coming out and giving us a run for our money and capitalizing on our mistakes. The 'Stangs gave us a scare. Opportunity for improvement on a Friday night game: We all are trying to get away from work, beat the traffic, and get there for the start. We missed about 30 minutes of the game due to having to walk full circle around the stadium to get to Will Call and back to our assigned gate, only to wait in a snake-like line to get in the gate. Maybe on a sell-out game like this SMU could provide an extra station on the visitors' side for Will Call pick-up and then additional attendants to get us in the gate. Even at TCU's sell-outs, they think about the customer and provide extra Will Call stations and various entry points. It gets the fans in their seats on time to see the game and makes for a better overall experience.

Very misleading and I should get a credit. I asked an employee wearing yellow for a supervisor and no one came to help.

Great atmosphere and the Stangs played outstanding. Senior Day, so it was very special to see those guys at the end with their families. Big time game with Big Time plays! The stadium is easy to maneuver around in and its an inexpensive and fun date for the entire family. Kids can slide down Ford Hill or slap high fives with players. If you are in the area and want the Major College Football Atmosphere with less headaches, including traffic, SMU Football is for you! They have an incredible coach and this team is moving back to the big stage. Look for them to be seen and known in the near future!

We saw a great game. SMU won with a controversial goal-line stand, preventing Tulane from taking the lead. First complaint: the gate staff would not allow my daughter to bring in a small backpack. I don't remember seeing anything about prohibited items when I ordered the tickets. We had to miss the opening kick-off while we took the backpack back to the car. Second complaint: most of the concession stands closed too early.

SMU Athletics has done an amazing job making the football experience fan friendly. The kids love the open grass field on the South end of the stadium along with the inflatable obstacle courses. They got a few grass stains from rolling down the hill, but they were entertained for hours. We enjoyed great seating, adult beverages and a variety of food options. The specialty food trucks at the south end of the stadium were a great addition. Our whole family had a great time. Cheers to SMU for a great day.

The personnel were very courteous and concessions were accessible. The worst part was the parking! For those of us who have a handicapped card we need easier, closer parking. We followed the cash only signs and never found that parking. We ended up way down on Mockingbird across 75-about 10 blocks away. Very hard on the legs of older folks.

Enjoyed the game. Nice stadium. Great sightlines. The best music I heard came from the Aggie Band. The recorded music played over the PA system mostly consisted of rap-based selections. Give me a break. It got even worse in the fourth quarter when they played a song overflowing with hideous over-the-top Autotune. There were periods of classic heavy metal which had more of a hockey game feel that a football game. The person in charge of the music selection should be reassigned to a role far away from any amplification. One more thing - I was near midfield and the PA system volume was too loud the entire game.

While the Mustangs were definitely out-gunned, they gave it a good effort. Injuries and staffing changes were a hindrance, but our team stayed in the game, never giving up. The Bands from both campuses did an outstanding job! In addition, the announcements recognizing the outstanding performances of SMU's many sports teams was commendable. (On a side note, I thought the stadium speakers were too loud, especially handheld mics.) We chose to use the DART, so we had no problems with traffic or parking. Due to hot temperatures, I would like to have seen more cold foods available. Some concessions ran out, and I feel that $4 is too much to charge for a bottle of water.

The only issues I have are the SMU parking situation- even if you prepaid for a lot- attendants didnt know how to accurately direct you to the correct lot and also it seems that the SMU/Dallas PD didnt know how to handle traffic for a sold out game- and the extremely warm temperature.

The game was great and the atmosphere was electric. Tech fans filled at least half the seats in the stadium. The only disappointment was DART didn't adjust their schedule to match the game for trains going through the Mockingbird station. As a result, we like hundreds of other fans, had to leave before the end of the game to catch the last train. The university needs coordinate better with DART as more people take advantage of public transportation.

I took my 9 year old son to the game and our seats did not exist. The game was sold out and there were no seats in section 213 Row 16 seats 1 thru 6. The first seat on the aisle was seat #7and our tickets were for seats 1 & 2. There were no seats 1 & 2 so we stood the entire game and my son could not see the game. Parking was also horrible.

I am from the old SWC days and SMU moving the games back to campus to me was the best thing they ever did. The stadium is very nice for a mid major type school. Fans, what little there are as Tech and other BIG 12 schools take over the stadium, are not very engaged and are a bit cocky to have not had much success vs the big boys. There isn't a big college atmosphere as SMU is usually outnumbered by bigger schools and seem to be more interested in partying on the blvd than supporting their team. Many leave early and never come back. Will be at Jones AT&T stadium EAST with thousands of my red and black clad friends come Aug 30th, 2013 when Tech plays SMU. I am sure Tech will help make yet another "record" crowd for SMU.

This game had it all. Rain made it hard for players to hold onto the ball. SMU play like a top 25 team they stayed in the game and could have maybe won it if Gilbert could have found his wr more. TCU defense came up with big plays when they needed them. The bands for both teams where great. The cheerleaders for both teams weather the rain and keep cheering for their teams.This was college football at it best.

...is equivalent to a mediocre HS football game experience. The fans seemingly do not care. After half the only people that remained in the stadium. This may be because all of their fans either stay on the Boulevard (tailgating) and never make it into the game, or leave during the 2nd quarter to get back. In a city as large as Dallas, and for a school that claims to be "Dallas' Team", this is flat-out pathetic. At least you can enjoy your school destroying their awful team. Cocky, yet unloyal fans. Overpriced concessions. WAY overpriced ticket.

We will not go to a sporting event again anytime soon. We took our 11 year old son to the SMU-UCF game. The fans on both sides need to grow up. The foul and nasty language coming out of fans' mouths on both sides was disgusting. Why can't people learn how to act in public? We were sitting in the UCF section, and had some SMU fans behind us. The lady kept screaming "go Mustangs" loudly in our ears. Which is fine, she's cheering her team, I get it. But when SMU scored a touchdown when they already had a commanding lead, and she gets up and screams "IN YOUR FACE!", what was that about? No one said or did anything to warrant that. And then when my husband told her husband that we were leaving because his wife was getting obnoxious, she called my husband a "sore loser." How about being a classy winner? Geez, people are so crude and obnoxious nowadays, and never bother to look and see how they're acting, especially in front of a child.

Stadium is pretty nice but lacks real energy. Stadium gets 4 stars, but atmosphere gets 2 stars. If you like being close to the action and college football you will enjoy but not for the casual fans since the stadium lacks energy/fan interest even with a high priced, named coach and winning college team.

My first time to attend any Texas college football. A great venue, great "tailgating" (if you call tents with 50 inch TVs tailgating). The game was fun. Being used to seeing games in the Rose Bowl (Go BRUINS!) this was amazing...close to the action and on the 50 yard line, row 8...and it cost less than parking in LA. Highly recommend attending. I even got a fine new SMU hat with a Mustang on the front. Pony Up Indeed!

It was a lt of fun! Te tickets were great and even though we sat on the Marshall side we had a great time. Not having graduated fro SMU we had no alliace to either side (although we do live in Dallas and support the local teams) the Marshall fans were great and te four of us enjoye the game (and th 50 yard line seats were not bad either).

Well it's always to support my alma mater (SMU), but it wasn't pleasant being stuck in close quarters with the big crowd while waiting out the rain and the ref's decision to cancel or continue. It began to feel like the Superdome after hurricane Katrina. We weren't allowed to leave, unless we accepted the "no re-entry" policy. There should be scenario exceptions. After 3 hours, the officials should have been glad that anybody came back and what would it have mattered who was there to see the rest of the game, whether or not they had a ticket or had left and come back.

the game got delayed for about 3 hours and it was raining the whole time; forgettable experience. didn't get to witness a single play, as I was a bit late and I had to leave by the time the game started up again.
