Kentucky Speedway Races

We had a BLAST at the Kentucky Speedway NASCAR race! Ticketmaster made it super easy to get tickets for the awesome seats we had!

Attending a Nascar race was a sudden, "hey, why not?" moment for us the Wednesday before the race. No one in my family had attended one before and we felt we should be ground breakers (like we pretty much are in all decisions). While we missed out on the family pack of tickets and the discounted grandstand tickets, we did win on the $10 kid tickets. Having never been to the racetrack or a race, we had no clue where to pick seats except that we had seen enough commercials to know that we needed to be able to see Turn 3. Seats put us right at the action and we are still scrubbing off tire dusk. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we encountered fun people who didn't mind sharing best viewing practices or playing Frisbee with our son. We loved that we could bring in coolers with water/food which leads us to believe that this is actually a very affordable event. There are water fountains so bring a cup to refill. Plenty of bathrooms but except lines during Yellow Caution laps. Parking was well managed. We left through Warsaw which had NO traffic at all. Only complaint: I heard of legendary bacon wrapped bourbon balls but wasn't able to locate them...

Was a good time, your tickets get you a free hotdog and coke.

Best track IV been to no matter where you sit you can see the whole track.

This was my first NASCAR race with my 11 y/o son. We made an entire day of it - you have to with all the events that take place before the race. We had a blast!

the race and atmosphere was great and getting all the free stuff was great also. Sharon and I had a great day together even though it rain most of the day the atmosphere walking around was great. Planning to attend this race next yr!!

good seats, will go back again. the 4 pack was a good deal with food being so expensive at the track.

The concessions ran out of food about half way through the race. The fanzone passes didnt provide what was advertised.

It was just a great time. Traffic wasn't bad at all. After the race was over we just came back and set in our lawn chairs and snacked and talked until traffic let down.

Fantastic seats race was right there in front of you. Was able to drivers faces when they walked by.

Overall good experience. Pros: Parking and shuttle service excellent. Cons: Wasn't allowed to take an umbrella into the event. Would have been nice if they would have given me the heads up as it was on and off rain all day. Also, track needs to join the rest of the free world and ban smoking in the grandstands. Lastly, plenty of beer being sold in the grandstands during the race but no soft drinks!

The Race and race activities were great. Parking was a pain. They have you squeezed in like sardines!!!! And taking 2hrs before you even see the first movement when it was time to leave. That was a bit rediculous.

Well organized, great racing and a good fan experience all round

Overall, I had a great time with my family. I have been to a total of 10 Nascar races, and this is the very first one where there was not a fly over during the pre-race ceremonies. I was extremely disappointed. This was also my uncle's very first race and I would have loved for him to have gotten to see and experience that. The fly over has always been one of my favorite parts of attending a race. It is very special. The racing was average. I would have really liked to have seen some more competitive cars run up and challenge the lead. It's kind of boring when one car is obviously that much more dominant than the others.

From tailgaiting to vendors and of course the race itself great time from beginning to end! Cant wait for next years event!

Attending the NASCAR Sprint race was everything I had hoped for.

Kentucky Speedway has solved their problems, easily got into parking lots and out of them as well. The race was exciting as the cars were really fast especially the winner!

Overall it was a great day. Traffic control had their act togethernot more than 5 minutes from interstate to parking spot. Need to rethink handicap parking our seats were in turn 1 our parking spot was in turn 4. They had ada shuttle but the pickup spots were not clearly marked

First time at a sprint cup race. We had a blast at the track. I think ill be returning next year and this time I'll be bringing ear plugs.

Great race - no problems getting in or out. Our seats were in the Kentucky Tower and you could see the whole track.

The event was great. The stands were half full and somehow the concessions were running out if everything half way thru the race????

I got the black friday deal for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race which included 2 seats, cold garage passes and the fanvision for my husbands christmas gift... He has been excited about this race for 6 months. He took his 14 year old nephew for their first race. the people controlling the garage passes took both passes but refused to give a pass for my nephew b/c my husband was not his father; this rule should have been printed on the tickets & on the websites. He was with a responsible adult who would never leave a 14 year old alone in the seats to go to the pit area and the concert; so why in the world would they think it is okay to issue the pass to the adult only & keep both tickets... NASCAR is supposed to be a family sport. Therefore the money spent on the passes was wasted. Then the fanvision did not work and it had to be re-programmed (from what my husband was told all the the fanvisions sold on black friday had the same issues). This was the first & last experience with NASCAR. If there are stipulations as to who can use what passes, that rule needs to be clearly printed on the tickets & the website. I called Kentucky Speedway a week before the event and asked about the fanzone and garage pass rules, I was never told there was an age limit.

After I retired last year I made a bucket list. This was one of the things on that list. I've watched Nascar for years, but never had the opportunity to get to a Race in person. I am SO glad I spent the money to do this. I had no problems with my tickets and was lucky enough to have very little problems with parking. There were lots of things to see and do outside the track before the race. I did get to see some of the drivers and several of the cars pretty close up!

The whole NASCAR experience was great. Quite an education for the younger crowd--prepare the kids!

On the positive side of things the Race was great fun even though my wife's favorite driver (Jimmie Johnson) didn't win. I thought the food and beverage choices was above average of most tracks. The biggest downfall which is the same at many tracks during a NASCAR event was how parking was handled and worse than that the ability to shuttle people to the track before the race and back to their cars after. Because of the inefficient manner in which this was handled we ended up walking from a shuttle stop (after waiting nearly 45min.) and upon return we were able to get a shuttle that only went to the camping area and still had to walk quite a ways back to our car. I should think as big as this sport has gotten and what it costs to attend one of these events they would have a better handle on this minor item.

The race was awesome, however, I emailed Kentucky Speedway many times about upgrading my current tickets to include the FAN ZONE. I never heard a word from any representative. I was disappointed in the Speedways communication. Also, the individuals directing traffic were extremely un friendly. I had a small altercation upon parking. Also, there is not enough room to set up your tail gating site with the way they park you. I have never experienced this at other tracks. I will debate on ever going back to Kentucky. I noticed a lot of empty seats in the stands and I have a feeling why. My seats may also be empty next year. Kentucky you need to improve if you want your fans to return.

While the Camping World Series doesn't have all the NASCAR Sprint Cup stars racing in it, the intensity is still the same. These drivers are the future Nationwide and Sprint Cup drivers and to see them starting out is really a treat. Sometimes Sprint Cup drivers who are team owners in the truck series will take to the track as happened in Kentucky with Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch. The NASCAR Camping World truck series is great to watch!!

The track is great, and I had a great time. Food was expensive but what isn't. Had a fun time at the race.

Had a great time & they were great seats just past the start finish line. Had a great views of everything. Extra bonus was getting to watch the Xfinity race that was rained out the night before. 2 Nascar races for the price of 1 hardly ever happens so that was really nice to break up the day since the hubby & I aren't big tailgaters. Love this section of the track for seating & if we go back will look again in the same area.

When we arrived we had to walk at least a mile and a half just to get to the track. There were little shuttles but none in the parking lot we parked at. The shuttles that did go by all the walkers didn't stop and ask if anyone wanted a ride even if they had room. Places to buy merchandise is very limited and what they did have wasn't in a style or size I wanted or needed. Food vendors were few and far between and only had a handful of choices. Half way through the race most places were out of food! There was no one coming around selling drinks like I remember at sports events which made it some what of a chore to walk up all the flights of stairs and go stand in line just to get something to drink. Missing the race just to get something to drink sucks. Couldn't hear the announcement on the loud speaker which would have been nice especially when they were having a wreck and you couldn't see who was involved. People would stand at the fence making it impossible for the people who actually paid to sit that close to the track to even see a restart or a start period. Later on the military did come by and tell people to move but all the would do is go right back to the fence again making it impossible to see the restarts. What happened to hired help that was in each section keeping people in check!? What happened to vendors who actually came around selling items!? And the smoke! Seriously can people not have respect for people who don't smoke? Or how about this make a smoking section! If you make someone have to leave a seat for a drink why not make them leave for a smoke!? You might even sell more beer! This was the worst race I have been to and was highly disappointed. Not to mention leaving the race was a nightmare it was like no one knew how to direct traffic. I seriously will consider not going to this track again unless they listen to the issues and try to fix them. Bottom line get more vendors, don't run out of food half way through the race, have people in each section to control who is standing at the fence, and do something about traffic!

The racing will be really good once track gets widened out

The changes that NASCAR made for this race made a world of difference. Hats off to them and the drivers for requesting these changes. It is obvious that there needs to be a package for each track. I am actually looking forward to the next couple of races and am really excited to see if it makes a difference at Indy!!. Also a hats off to the Kentucky Motor Speedway for yet another great race experience. One of the best tracks on the circuit.

Everyone FOUGHT for this race to get here... but there was 40K± empty seats?!?!?!? WHAT?!?!?!? I went the first year when it had the major traffic problems, got there 15min late but still enjoyed it (granted I was working as a photographer then). This year (whole family of 6, 3 under 10), the parking was GREAT, Trams helped a lot (less than 300yd walked at each end), Seats were in GS1 and dropped off outside KY Tower (can't beat that!). Race ended around 10:30pm I was on the road (headed towards Warsaw (backroads to Bone Lick SP) by 11:15!!!! * I NEVER sat waiting to get out!!! Was amazing how it worked out. Weather was great once the sun dipped below the stands behind us.

Brad Meselowski and Joey Logano of Penske Racing rode their dominant Ford powered race cars to victory with Brad Meselowski's number 2 showing his dominance from start to finish. Overcoming a late caution which sent Kyle Bush exiting with the lead, Keselowski caught, passed and held Bush at bay to earn his much deserved victory . Logano showed the team'd superiority staying close to Keseliwski most of the race til slowed by a dropped cylinder late in the race. Bush again proved himself a frustrated sport , cursing his pit crew chief over wide band radio picked up by the fan's rental scanners. not to overshadow this total dominating performance by Penske-Ford, Kesowski was exuberant in victory. Performing His victorious spin outs to a large appreciative and much impressed crowd.

Need more concessions, definitely need more beer vendors.it took 30 minutes to wait in line to get a cold beer and then when you get there, they are out of cold beer.Not cool!

Was literally a 45 minute walk from truck to track. No clear signs leading to track once walking so ended up having to walk by the woods down a hill and over a creek. Took the right way on the way back to truck and it was still 42 minutes. Buses were running but small, packed full, and could never get on.

Enjoyed the speedway very much. The race itself was fair.

Husband s bday, and our third NASCAR race (first 2 were Vegas). We both loved it!!! REALLY HOT in the parking lot, but we tailgated for about an hour. Inside we sat at the wrong end of the track, but all was OK! The locals told us to stay. We moved to our \u2018real seats later in the race, decided the first ones were best (4th turn). We will be back!

First of all the price we paid for the seats were to much for the location. There was several seats empty near the start / finish line but they were not willing to give them up for a cheaper price. The concession stand wait was to long as it is every year. Took 45 minutes to wait on about ten people. This is becoming a bigger issue each year. There is eight of us that attend this race, but as of now we will not be going back to this event.

This is a great track to attend, this race however was the most boringest race I've ever been to at Kentucky. Tailgating is fun. Only 1 cooling off station for 75,000 plus fans though was ridiculous

Amazing event! Weather was hot but by race time it was perfect.

I hafta say it. Ive been to many nascar events, This track lost its mustar with the repave. It was boring. as is the whole venue, 3 cars dominate every track??? no ones buyin it.... Nascar will lose more fans because of the attitude we will watch what they want us to. its starting to suck

The race sucked. No competition. Single file racing. Not what we want to watch. Boring. Left early

Everything was ok nothing great. Had some stuff outside to do before race. Had trouble getting my fan zone pass from will call had to stand in the same line 2 or 3 times to get it because they kept sending me to fan zone redemption before giving me my ticket. And honestly fan zone wasn t worth the money. For what I paid I want to be closer to the cars and drivers.

For the most part it was a good time. The only issue we had was there were no shuttles running from the Toyota lots across the road before the race

Didn t like the seats the people smoking in the stands and no security guard or rudely people

started off with waiting in long line at will call to get tickets only to be told I had to go to a different will call where a ticketmaster agent was .long walk and another long line. finally got in and saw one of the most boring races I have ever been to. but other than almost falling asleep almost having heat stroke and spending over 250 dollars to get in I guess it was a good donation for overpriced sports

Anyone reading this review would be advised to carefully study their seat location and create a plan to reduce the overall amount of walking to and from your vehicle. Our parking location was adjacent to Turn 2 and our seats were all the way over in Turn 4. Kentucky Speedway is familiar with the "lay of the land", so why can't time be taken to recommend a parking lot based on the seat location on the ticket? Even better would be for Kentucky Speedway to make more effective use of their tram/shuttle "system" (take notes from ATL or PHX). If you have hilly terrain from a parking lot, why not provide these worthwhile courtesies to keep your ticket-buying fans happy and avoid situations where they are obligated to make an unexpected 2-mile hike to get to their seat (or dread the walk back after the race)? Also, this venue is comically far from any major city (40+ miles to Cincinnati OR Louisville) with no apparent hotels nearby. Finally, waiting for traffic to leave our parking area was a JOKE! I would suggest the traffic control dedicate one-way exit lanes (therefore MORE ORANGE CONES) that use more of the existing roadway surface instead of just the paint-marked lanes.

We had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Staff assisted us every time we asked for guidance and how to get somewhere. We will come back because we have a wonderful weekend in Kentucky!!

Excellent NASCAR event. Kentucky Speedway has out done themselves! Easy parking, super friendly staff, clean restrooms, traffic control was a breeze, Track area was clean..... great experience !

Stage racing really has ruined any kind of excitement or strategy. Very boring because drivers know when caution is coming.

My son and I had a great time in the fan zone but unfortunately had to leave just before start of the race due to him becoming Ill. Nevertheless, Nascar and Kentucky Speedway put on a fantastic and memorable event!

The race was good, but the prices where kind of high for food and drink. It was hard to get a parking spot up front in the handicapped area, because of the tents set up in the middle of the roads. Also I always wait for at least an hour to an hour and a half to let the drunks get out of the parking lots, because I don't want my car wrecked.

The Nascar race was awesome. I loved my seat and would recommend Ticket Master for purchasing my tickets.

Took my son for his birthday. We had a great time at Ky Speedway. Got to see local guy Ben Rhodes win the race.

Since Ky has repaved the track it is smooth but single file racing sucks boring!!! Sperta need progressive and more banking to make it a racetrack!

The racing is getting better the track has widened out from a 1 groove track to at least a 1.5 or a 2 lane track, but the the more age the surface see the better the racing will geth

There is no sound that can replicate the rumble of the engines when the "Start your engines" command is given. Awesome. Put down your e-device and go to a race!

Have been going to NASCAR races since the early 70's and never have I been to a track where there were hospitality suites that blocked the start finish line. There had to be thousands of seats that had an obstructed view of the finished line. Suites usually are above all other seating. All we saw was the roof of the suites. Can not believe for a relatively new track that it would be designed like this. We will never go back!!!

This was a much better experience from the first race in Kentucky. We were reluctant to go back but there was much improvement. Overall experience was great. O love that you can see the entire track.

It was my very first race. Had the best time ever. Never will forget the sound of the engines and the roar of the crowds. I definitely will go again.

I visited the race with my two kids. We had an amazing experience being at our first NASCAR race. What a sport! We will be back.

Awesome facility. Clean easy to get in, it was difficult to get out, but definitely worth it. Not a bad seat in the house.

My wife and I enjoyed the trip to Kentucky Speedway. The race was a snoozer at the end but that's not the track's fault. Parking was a breeze, things to do around the track were fun, and the overall experience was a blast. We'll definitely make another trip!

The race was terrific. It was my first time at Kentucky Speedway and I was amazed at how incredible the facility is. The parking and midway are located directly behind the grandstands so it's an easy walk. There isn't a bad seat in the place. Awesome.

track was enjoyable. free parking right off the highway, relatively easy access to the facility. signage was adequate. concourses were spacious and very clean. prices for food and drink were fair. seats were spacious and crowd was enthusiastic but not over the top stupid. in sum, a nice venue to watch a race. major downer: can't bring in your own beer. seems to be a coming trend at nascar tracks. not something, in my opinion, that is going to improve attendance.

You can see all around the track ,the view around the track was great,free parking and free shuttles to and from the track, just a great place and I've been to a lot of other races.

Really enjoyed the race; however KY Speedway was ill equipped for the event. Too many people smoking in and under the grandstands (next to the no smoking signs, etc). No one from the Speedway was around to tell them to stop. The fan base was full of drunks yelling vulgarities during the race and afterwards. Really difficult for me to consider taking my son back. Concession lines were extremely long due to only 1/3 of the windows being open. Just really disappointed in the speedway....

Due to rain delay,race started 3 hours late. Could not believe race was not canceled and ran on Friday, maid it way late for driving home.

There was a 3 hour rain delay, which felt like it dragged out the event. Once the race stated we had an incredible time. Would love the opportunity to go again.

This was the first race the rest of my family has ever been to, and they had a nice time. The parking was easy (and free), the ticket prices were reasonable, the meal deal was fairly priced, and the seats were front-row-perfect. I've been to the tryouts at Indy 500, and an actual race at Indy 500, and I can say that this event at this time of year (lower temps), at this venue, was a real pleasant time. I'd go here in this season again!

I've lived within a couple of hours from Kentucky Speedway and never once considered going to their event opting instead to travel to Michigan that is until this year. The seating at the speedway was incredible and the use of the elevator to get to and from our seats was also a huge convenience as I am terrified of heights. The isles were wide the seats extremely comfortable (I have a lot of back issues) but the best part was the atmosphere.. Or maybe the fact that BK won.. Either way can't wait to do it again

The event and atmosphere was perfect, and i would go there 10 out of 10 times. I sat 5th row by the finish line, and had a wonderful view and experience at the race!

Best race been too yet. Had a good time. Would recommend any one wanting to go to a nascar event to go to this one. Traffic wasn't bad at all this time. Wasn't all that hot for once
