Red Hot Hockey

I am not a fan of either team, nor did I go to either school, but I love hockey and these teams were playing on my ice, so I decided to check it out. It was a great game that went into triple overtime. The shootout was the icing on the cake, with BU coming out on top. The only drawback for me, and this is purely from a sportsmanship perspective, Cornell has quite a few mean chants. It's one thing to support your team, but it is not right to rip down the other team with an idle chant. "It's all you fault!" was the Cornell cry after they scored to the losing goalie. I won't get into all of their chants. I really expected wittier chants from an Ivy League school.

Great enthusiasm having two "home" teams, with many local alumni and students attending from both schools. A bit more from Cornell but plenty of BU cheering. BU band really added that college sports feel missing at NHL games. Exciting competitive game, ending in tie. Required shootout since there is a trophy for this one game "tournament". Nice ceremony at the end for cup presentation. Lots of kids with older siblings and parent/grandparent alumni. Great family event, much different than attending on campus.

I've been to quite a few college hockey games, but seeing it at MSG with a sold out crowd took it to a new level. I highly recommend this event in the future as this was the fifth year these two historic college hockey teams have played in this event. A+ ... Great energetic crowd, bands playing and high temp competitive hockey!

Great venue for great hockey\u2026. College hockey game that was none stop action, even with the final shoot out and Boston University wins\u2026. Great times and always fun. Second time attending, will definitely return in 2 years!!!

Game went to 2nd overtime and finally sudden death shootout. Exciting game and great win by Boston U.

An undermanned Cornell team almost upset BU. Cornell had the early lead but BU kept the pressure on and tied the game in regulation time. Those BU guys sure could skate and pass. Go Big Red
