Great game! My team won! Atmosphere was nice.. Food and drinks were good. I was unable to print my tickets and the staff at the venue were very accommodating and organised about the whole thing. Another thing I really appritiate about this venue was that they accept international drivers license as ID for the purchase of alcohol and they don't expect you to walk around town carrying your passport on you!! I'm from out of town and just moved to LA, I don't have a CA state ID as yet.. EVERY single venue I've been to including Staples Centre and The Forum have refused to sell me alcohol with my international ID.. I've even shown them my countries' government tax card but they insist that I need my passport and NO a scanned copy or picture on your phone won't do...they want the ORIGINAL!?! Ridiculous! Who walks around with their passport on them at all times?!! So this event and venue was such a relief! I enjoyed it!

Great seats, excellent game, but souvenirs, food, beer and parking prices are just ridiculously excessive!

This was my first professional soccer game and my first visit to the Home Depot Center. I have never been a fan of soccer but since my 11 year old son plays and has begun to show a serious interest; for his birthday i got tickets to the Galaxy game. During my on-line purchasing of the tickets, i attempted to get seating in a different section but was only offered seats in one particular section. ( i think it was 135 or something) We arrived 1 hour early. Parking was easy. The stadium layout is great! When we got to our seats there was a Galaxy flag on a pole there. (First clue) So i just moved it. As gametime approached, people were arriving in our section with megaphones, drums and the requisite two fisted beer! (Second clue) Finally, a gentleman arrived decked out in full Galaxian regalia and informed me that we were in section (135?) The puzzled look i responded with gave him a clue that this was our first time here. He informed me that we were in the Galaxy ( LA Riot) section, where it gets loud and rowdy with "PG rated language". Little did i know how loud and how PG it would get BEFORE gametime! I thought i would wait until after the game started before i moved if need be... I couldn't wait that long! The singing and chanting began with a rather cute and catchy phrase directed towards the Kansas City team; "You came a long way just to lose..." After that it went downhill FAST! There was a call and response between the fans and a super fan (i guess!) that was sort of maniacal. Once the game began, it got LOUD with the drums and horns and megaphones and chants. The language also got saltier. We couldn't even see the game because everyone was standing. So, 2 minutes into the game, i decided to move one section over. Even though we were not in the midst of the "RIOT" it was still something to witness. I know "football" fans are fanatical, and that's ok. I just think that seating in that section should be voluntary and requested, not assigned. I would probably go to another game but not in that section, especially with my family.

I'm a Galaxy fan.. but what a heck... I came to see this game because Guillermo is playing on Columbus Crew and he was the best player on last season. He didn't shine in this game but was nice to see him playing. He is a player that knows how to handle the ball... not just kicking it as the best pay player on the league (you know to who I'm referring). Donovan as usual is a must in the team. He runs as anybody does. He is an asset to the team and he is better captain than the one we had last season. So overall an entertained game and Galaxy improving little by little thanks to Coach Bruce Arena.

It was great to be able to come to USA and watch a soccer game. The atmosphere was fantastic and we really enjoyed the way that everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Just a shame that David Beckham wasn't around to play, but we still enjoyed the game.

There were too many lights left on at the tennis court for the fireworks show. The fireworks were good, but the contrast wasn't. I understand that maybe a couple of lights could be left on for safety reasons, but there should be a darker viewing atmosphere for fireworks. On the field, the Galaxy won, but still look like a boring brand of soccer. The quality of the players is subpar for MLS. They play too defensively. They need more of an attacking style to be exciting to watch. I now understand why Beckham plays for other teams. The players around him need a major upgrade. Their style is not fun to watch. Also, why were there no pre-game festivities? There should have been something, considering it was the 4th of July. The USA was playing in a tournament on the same TV channel that showed the Galaxy game. There should have been a place to watch it before the Galaxy game started. Instead, many people sat around doing nothing before the game. The Galaxy representatives selling tickets were clueless when asked questions about this. As always, the food quality and selection was poor. The beer selection is also poor. Where are the credit card machines? Levy Restaurants does a much better job at the Staples Center. Their food and service at the Home Depot Center seems such second rate.

The 4th of July LA Galaxy game is always a crowd pleaser! It's been my annual tradition to attend for the past 10+ years--can't remember the last time I missed it. This year was no different. The only issue I have is with the parking. This time I got in relatively quick, but trying to exit the parking lot took a long time, as usual. However, as long as you know this (which from years of going to the games I do) and you try to have a little patience, it's not a huge deal. There is always police and traffic control to help--as long as everybody pays attention to what they're supposed to be doing, it all works out fine.

The Home Depot Center is a really great stadium. It's not over the top huge, but every seat is good. The night games give the stadium a very fun atmosphere as they use dark blue lighting to illuminate the stadium to reflect the LA Galaxy colors. The game was very exciting as always by the LA Galaxy. Any soccer fans would have been thrilled to be there. The stadium and fans can get loud and supportive, but it is a great place to bring your family and children. The opening ceremony was fun with the violinist as well as the starting fireworks. Afterward there was a fireworks show that thrilled everyone that was watching them. Overall the event was absolutely worth spending the 4th of July at. I would highly recommend to anyone to look into doing this next year if the option is available to them.

89k+ fans came to this game and not once did i feel crowded or overwhelmed! Mucho kudos to the Pasadena Rose Bowl for excellent organization of such a large event. We stayed within walking distance to the Parson Engineering Building, where the PRB had FREE shuttle service to and from the Stadium. As well as paid parking so you could avoid the traffic of the folks who actually parked at the PRB Stadium. We attended the SoccerFest that was an outside festivity with music and food plus trick shows. I must say... the best seats in the house are near row 58 on the side with Press Box (closest Gate F)... awesome seating! After the game probably 60k people were lining up to take the shuttles back to the Parson Engineering Building... it took us appox 40 with travel to get back!!! I dont know anywhere that can shuttle that many people in that amount of time! Way to go Pasadena!

My first time watching a live football game and it just had to be a game between LA Galaxy and Real Madrid!! I'm just visiting the US for a vacation and I'm so lucky to that i came here when they were scheduled to have the game! I'm a football fan and I play football so i begged my dad to buy the tickets because this is a once and a lifetime opportunity to see Real Madrid play! I'm just really happy that the tickets can be purchased online so it made me even more determined to go because the opportunity is already there. I just have to grab it! I will NEVER forget this experience. I have seen the football gods play!!!

I have been following Real Madrid very keenly for the past 7 years and finally I got a chance to see them play. I come from India and I am studying at USC. Once I saw that Real Madrid are playing at the Rose Bowl, I couldn't resist and booked the tickets immediately. I thought the atmosphere wont be that great, but I was wrong. It was simply awesome. Watching the game with so many Real Madrid fans from the stands was amazing. To see my favorite players like Xabi, Iker, Ramos, van der Vaart and the entire Real Madrid squad was indeed a dream that came true. Thank you for organizing this event and this is something which I will never forget in my life.

The Rose Bowl was an awesome place for a soccer game! The tailgating was so fun. I was worried about being squeezed into the grass lot (Lot H) but we were right next to soccerfest and so close to the stadium. We really enjoyed everything about to Rose Bowl. The food prices were high but in line iwth all major stadiums. We left a minute or two before the game ended and ran to the truck and got out of the parking area quickly...I have heard horror stories about being stuck in the lot for up to 2 hrs afterwards and we didn;t want to take any chances.... I got great shots of Landon Donovan and Rolando! We sat in section 7, row 13 and paid $100 a ticket and it was worth it! Although I think that any seat at the rose bowl is pretty good! None are too high to not see what is going on. I brought BInoculars and could see everything up close if I wanted to.

Just getting into soccer thanks to world cup -- this was so cool! Great environment -- everyone there for a fun time. No thugs, no stupid stuff. The only thing...the parking set up is lame in the $15 area. It took me longer to get out of there than at Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, etc, by far!!! Still a great time -- would be 5 stars if they could get their parking thing together.

For my first ever Galaxy game, I was supremely disappointed in that fact that neither Landon Donovan nor Freddie Ljunberg started the game due to their international duties earlier in the week. Worse still was the unfortunate fact that the official decided it would be best if he was the center of attention over the players and issued a straight read to Beckam 16 minutes in. Thus, within 16 minutes the game was effectively over and the three best players in the stadium were not on the pitch. Not the ideal way to view a game you were looking forward to. That being said however, the stadium is beautiful, the crowd was excited and passionate and the soccer was fairly decent. At the very least we saw a couple good goals and some heated discussions over the various red cards that were raised throughout the later parts of the game. Looking forward to making it to another one when I can see Becks a bit more!

I am a BIG fan of FC Barcelona. Have followed them for years and was fortunate enough to follow their matches in Barcelona (at the Camp Nou) every two weekends for two full years. I was deeply disappointed on the venue's organization. It took me two hours to get to the Rose Bowl from Santa Monica (one hour just trying to get to the bowl's parking) and even worse was the exit. It took us TWO hours to get out of the parking lot, which by the way was a golf course with almost no signs whatosoever. People lost their cars and no staff or Pasadena Police helped people get to their cars or out of the "parking" lot. I have attended games, concerts and all kinds of events around the world: Latin America, Europe and the US. And had never seen such a chaos in my life. It was really, really bad.

The digital age has arrived with Spanish and Barca football. They pass the ball exactly where they want, it goes to one of their players, and it sticks to their feet to retain possession. The Galaxy on the other hand are looking as if they are in the analog age. Sure, Beckham had SOME nice passes, but my guess is that maybe only 20% of them connected. Donovan and the rest just could not manage a quality build up to attack. A fun crowd, reminded me of the the 94 World Cup.

The LA Galaxy vs Barcelona was an amazing match. You wouldn't thing there were that many soccer fans in Southern California. 93,000 people nicely packed into the Rose Bowl. It was definitely one of the most exciting sporting events that I've been to. Another thing that I like is that you can get there super early to avoid traffic. Also, they don't mind if you tailgate. We brought a whole meal and a cooler full of beer that we enjoyed pre-game. The only downside is the parking situation. They packed us in like sardines. There wasn't enough room between cars to set up or chairs to eat. When we went to the Rose Bowl game this year (college football), they made each row only two cars deep, then left a nice space between for people to eat and hang out. Leaving after the game also takes forever, but doesn't every major sporting event?

Pedro Rodriguez and Jeffren Suarez scored to give FC Barcelona a 2-1 exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy in front of 93,137 fans at the Rose Bowl. Showing not only good soccer game, FC Barcelona shows MLS what they are missing: the contact with the fans. Nevertheless the stadium showed a huge "Home of the LA Galaxy" banner almost the totality of the stadium was "blue and scarlet" Lionel Messi was a joy to watch in the first half as he orchestrated attacks as same as Thierry Henry in the second half.

The game was phenomenal. I hope they continue to bring great football teams like Barcelona to play here in L.A. It was great to see stars of such class as Henry, Xavi, Marquez, Puyol and company. Th only bad part about the event is the parking situation. It took us two hours to get out of the parking lot. It is always interesting to me how before the game they have all these security personnel directing traffic, but at the end of the game there's nobody out there and it is very dangerous especially when you have frustrated people, drunks and just plain stupid people trying to get out through one single exit from the golf course area.

The advertising boards behind the one goal were so high that those in front felt compelled to stand, so those behind, them, and those behind them... etc. I didn't see any of the game, but can tell you exactly what the back of this guy's head looks like and the shirt he was wearing, as that's all I saw all evening. From beginning to end everything worked out just fine, there were no delays, parking was really expensive, but for the amount of people that assisted this event it was quite an easy experience when it came to waiting to enter/leave parking and venue. (86,432 in attendance) The staff was friendly and helpful throughout and everything inside was well kept. First time going to the Rose Bowl and it doesn't seem like much, but once inside it gives you first class view to the game, I was concerned about the no-back stands, but they were rather comfy and well numbered with no issues at all. Only thing we and others around us wished was used was the big screen for replays or to show the game as it's normally used in such events.

The fan fest was ok besides waiting too long in line due to a lot of crowd, the game was fantastic but LA Galaxy made too many crucial mistakes. What bothered me the most was waiting over an hour to exit the parking lot. They need to be more organize on that. Everything else was great. This was a near-perfect event. As I entered the stadium, there was Alexi Lalas and the ESPN crew doing their thing, so it was really fun to watch (NOW WHY IS THERE NO WAY TO HEAR THE AUDIO? NO APP? NO SPEAKERS?). I digress. Seat was amazing... the rain tapered off just as the game started... I had a small boy in front of me so my forward view was perfect . No show to the right of me and some people left in the 70th minute (why did they come? Are you kidding me?).... so I had tons of room to move around some. And of course The Galaxy won so the energy in the stadium was amazing. The only problem with the seat was that it was in 'the drip zone'. The roof literally stopped right above Row M, so big drops would come down only on that row, even after the rain stopped.

The game was awesome, the fans were equally awesome. Galaxy played great and won the game. Had GA seats and that was the best choice by far, as we were sitting right next to the field. Overall, was a great first night in Cali, would do it again next time I'm on the west coast.

Took my boys to their first MLS game and got to see Sir David Beckham and the LA Galaxy beat San Jose. The venue was great. Easy to park and we got out in less than 10 min after the game. The crowd was into the game and definitely luv the Galaxy. The play was sublime and crazy soccer skills were shown the whole game. My boys were impressed and Dad was the hero of the night. Mission accomplished...

I am a fan of the English Premier League and I enjoyed watching Manchester City play. Although I am an Arsenal fan (and sported my jersey), I felt that it was an excellent English experience in Southern California. You can't beat it!

I've never been to a LA Galaxy game where I didn't have good seats. At 1:00pm I was wondering if I finally got those seats ( section 136 row J ) it was hot, and the angle didn't seem all that great. AND THEN, Mike Magee put in the equalizer- that man is a stud!- and we ended up doing Penalty shots in the end ...up close and personal is where I was at! The seats ended up being the place to be!

I was given these tickets as a gift from my AYSO team for coaching this past season and I could not have asked for a better gift. Home Depot Center is as much a Soccer Cathedral as it is a stadium. The best venue you will ever see a professional soccer match in. And the fans!!! The Galaxy fans are just intense, but fun. The Angel City Brigade never did sit down during the entire match. LA Riot squad wasn't too far behind them and it warms my heart to see that the Galaxians, the original fan group from Pasadena is still at the game's sitting in area 51. And the game itself was thrilling. The Galaxy yielded a tying goal in the match's final moments and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. But my wife, two sons, and I had a wonderful evening. You can't go wrong with a Galaxy match!!!

My wife and I came from the UK to watch David Beckham play for the Galaxy, and we were not disappointed. The pre match atmosphere was brilliant with lots of entertainment on and off the pitch. David Beckham delivered one of his famous free-kicks which capped off an awesome experience. Car parking was very smooth and access to the freeway post game was very quick.

Loved it! The game was exciting, the crowd was hyped and intense and my team, the LA Galaxy, won and advanced to the Western Conference Final. There were plenty of Seattle Sounders fans in attendance and that helped boost the great atmosphere in the crowd. If you are a fan of "the beautiful game" or if you are just a casual, curious sports fan; I highly recommend going to The Home Depot Center and seeing the LA Galaxy play football. It was great to once again see David Beckham healthy and I was happy to see that he was still capable of dominating during set pieces. Highly recommended.

Came from San Diego to see this one and it was completely worth the trip up. It was fascinating to some of Europe's best players and how the MLS compares to a major European team. I would highly go to another event such as this one should an event like this be scheduled again.

I bought the tickets for my fiancé for his birthday. We got there early and were really enjoying all there was to do before the game and had so much fun then we get to our seats and I had gotten him awesome seats or so I thought front row behind the goal. However there were advertising boards so we had to stand no big deal until the people taking pictures and video were standing behind the boards. Even standing in my seat I was still unable to see the game. As a whole I would come back but I think the seats we purchased should have been blocked off and you should have been unable to purchase those seats. Because there was literally no sight to the field and the crowd behind us was mad we were standing and got rowdy and the cops had to be called to calm everyone down it was just a mess.

Game was lots of fun, once we got there. Parking management and attendants were awful at Rose Bowl and it took an hour for us to get parked from the time we paid! They had no idea what they were doing! Game itself was great, easy enough to find seats asking a stadium attendant, plenty of food and drink options. No rhyme or reason in parking exits after the games either, and no attendants we could see that were helping. Kind of a free-for-all with parking.

First time attending match at the rose bowl and will be my last. They had a chain link fence seperating a section of the seating. Watching a futbol match through a chain link fence is sub par. Have been to LA Galaxy matches at the HomeDepot center which was a much better viewing experience even with the sun in my eyes.

I went to cheer the Galaxy team. However, the event was hosted like it was a home game for Manchester United. Man U fans out numbered Galaxy fans about 10-1. The atmosphere was great and everyone were polite. The thing that really annoyed me was that they played the Man U theme song about 24 times. Parking at the Rose Bowl was an adventure. It took us about 20 minutes to find our car parked out on the golf course. Then it took another hour to exit.

I knew the trafffic would be bad getting into the Rose Bowl and it was. I could justify that it was due to regular rush hour traffic combined with a big event at Rose Bowl. I can understand why it took me 2+ hours from Redondo Beach. Once we paid for parking at Orange Grove entrance the disappointment started. The parking was a disaster. They ran out of preferred parking passes at that entrance. They were using much of the parking for Soccer Fest so they had to route us back to parking near Brookline Park. We drove by hundreds of open parking spaces but had to follow the directions. Then we had to get into the parking pass line coming in from the 134. We had to wait AGAIN as people bought passes. Then we finally got up to the front and they had preferred parking. We upgraded our pass and finally were able to park. The parking was a disaster and they also jacked up the prices vs a UCLA game. It made it extremely frustrating befor even getting into the event. The event was fun and my family enjoyed the game. The Rose Bowl needs to upgrade restroom and concessions. Until they get those done the facility is just not able to really provide an enjoyable experience at the stadium. Finally to make matters worse on the way home CalTrans took the 110 South Freeway down to one lane for road work. How can the Rose Bowl not communicate with CalTrans when they are hosting an event of this size. Closing 2 lanes on that night was idiotic. I spent 4.5+ hours on the road for a 2 hour soccer. I will watch the next event from home.

Great game but absolutely horrendous traffic! It took us almost an hour to park after we had reached Pasadena, and then had to pay $30 for parking! I was expecting a much better traffic management from the officials. I will not be atending another event there again!

LAGalaxySupporter2
I have been a Galaxy supporter since 1996, the inaugural season of MLS. I was 10 years old ten, and I'm 28 years old now. Today, I am an LA Galaxy season ticket holder, and official supporter of the United States National Team. When I went to the Manchester United vs. LA Galaxy match, I was disappointed but the organizers of this event for making it all about Manchester United and their corporate sponsors. There was hardly any marketing, advertising, or support for our own Los Angeles Galaxy. Even the television screen replayed Manchester United commercials over and over again. This is our city. This is our team. This is our sport in our country. We need to do a better job of supporting our guys and growing soccer in America. It starts with the fans and it continues with the corporations that put on these events. I won't go to another event like this again unless there is equal marketing, or an advertising campaign that motivates fans and supporters to join together in routing for our LA / USA teams against European teams. At least give us a fair shot at having an equal vibe.

United owned the Galaxy and played some entertaining soccer but that was about all that was entertaining. The parking for the stadium was a MESS!!!! You would think the Rose Bowl had some experience with this. The Big screen in the stadium didn't show one replay and get playing the SAME AD again and again! when you are in a stadium that seats 100,000 people you need to get the jumbo torn involved!

It felt disrespectful to the fans. $13 for a beer? $6 for a hot dog? Capitalism is one thing, but you should be ashamed at yourselves for how much you charge a man to take his son to see a soccer game. I will not go again.

My husband and I arrived about 30 minutes befor kickoff. We sat in traffic for parking, which was to be expected and paid for our parking right around the time he game should be starting. However, we then sat I traffic for an addition hour and a half before getting directed into a lot over a mile away from the stadium. Needless today, we missed the game.

Three freeway exits were closed due to traffic to this event. The entrance to the parking is a tiny 2 lane road that is not designed for a big event like this. There were high traffic to the parking as a result. The parking is a golf course with ~20 minutes walk to the stadium. The staff were mostly not helpful. They said the golf carts cannot be used due to liability and insurance issues even for handicapped folks or my elderly dad in this case.

Great fun having Man U in the house. Only complaint is the parking at the Rose Bowl. Although the shuttles from Parson were easy and well organized, the departure was a whole different experience. Lines were constantly being cut even though many of us were lining up without complaint. Hopefully this isn't the norm for the Rose bowl. Only downside of a great evening!
