I saw The Tubes a minimum of 20+ times back in the early 80's when they (finally) broke through with Talk To You Later - they were one of the greatest shows I'd ever seen. Today, they appear to have stripped down the theatrics, embraced their punk-ish roots and turned up the volume...and put on a very good show. Leaning heavily on songs from Remote Control (probably in response to all the "fake news" being reported) they began with Getoverature, slipped into TV is King and never really looked back. Yes, I missed the "show" they used to put on (like the police chase through Mr. Hate) but Fee and Co. took the simple props they had and used them to great effect (my friends and I are probably the few people who saw them after Fee had quit and hired a new guy {David} and went on the road strictly as a "band" - nothing but music). My only real complaint: someone turned up the treble (as well as the volume) and some of the songs suffered from piercing highs - a couple of songs actually hurt my ears. The Tubes were never a "hits" band - yes, they played the radio stuff, and touched on almost all phases of their career (Golden Boy from Now was great - but nothing from Love Bomb?...a very underrated album). So if you're looking for an awesome night of music, go see these guys. Also - I do miss Spooner, Welnick and Cotton...

Love this band because they never have taken themselves that seriously. Played almost everything I wanted to hear except some of the Re Styles songs. Played 2 hours which is very impressive for men in their late sixties. Fee Waybills interaction with the crowd was good and he looks much healthier then the last time I saw them. Did meet and greet after concert. Pretty nice guys.

Seen the Tubes at least four times in my life. They always put out there all. And i always think they are one of the best acts around. I think they get B-12 shot before each show. They are great.

B B Kings was unusually friendly, with a fully seated crowd, great sound system and almost friendly staff this past Tuesday for the Tubes show. After seeing Prairie Prince backing Todd Rundgren on tour a few months ago I was concerned that he wouldn't be at this Tubes stop, but what ecstatic that he not only appeared - but I had the chance to meet him briefly outside the club prior to the start of the show. The group played a combination of classic Tubes tunes, along with some new songs. The punk version of the Beatle's "i Saw Her Standing There" was a treat, along with the extensive James Brown medly. There was enough stage show by Fee to make it a Tubes show, but not so much as to distract from the music. The band was great and on the mark, with Roger Steen playing some great lead guitar, and Prince driving the band hard as always. The bass player also rocked. They played about an hour and forty five minutes in total. The show ended with "white Punks on Dope", and encored with "She's a Beauty" and "Talk To Ya' Later". The only disappointment was that they never played "sushi Girl", though BB King's pressing them to be off the stage early so a Rap Show could begin at 11PM may have had something to do with that omission. If you have a chance to see them on this tour, I'd highly recommend it. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Was a little worried when they opened with a couple of non Tubes songs, but I think he was warming up. They went into Mr Hate and all was well. They broke out some of the old props and MONDO BONDAGE and I was in Tubes heaven. The venue was awful because it was so hot with no circulation or air conditioning. Powered thru despite the discomfort. If you're a fan of the Tubes, they don't disappoint. Great show. Oh and the opening g band SE7EN REASONS WHY were awesome.

The Tubes continue to deliver great rock with silly yet often meaningful theatrics. Fee entered in a trench coat, singing This Town like Frank Sinatra, then continued into a cover of Town Without Pity. Nice start. Then, not necessarily in order, he donned a straightjacket for Mr. Hate, assless chaps for Mondo Bondage, prison garb and a TV/prison cell on his head, Quay Lewd, and carnival barker for She's a Beauty. Finally, I never realized what an awesome guitarist Roger Steen was. Good, sure, but man he just flew on the fretboard.

The Tubes were great. I love seeing them in these smaller venues. It was very hot & uncomfortable for everybody, especially for the Tubes. They never complained or short changed us . Can't wait to see them again at the end of this month.

So much fun, Fee out in all his previous incarnations (Quay Lude, etc.), lots of lesser known songs as well as hits. No female singer so no Prime Time or Don't Touch Me There but WPOD!!! Yes!!!

I know over the years The Tubes got a reputation as being the clown masters of rock, known more for their stage shows and a few radio hits. But I have to tell you that once you really listen to the musicianship of each member, and how well that comes across when they play live, you will hear something that is hard to get when it's on record (cd). Yes, they do put on a great live show. And Fee Waybill is the ring master of this rock 'n roll circus. But it's how well the music is played that really comes through, especially when Fee is off changing his outfits for the next song. And his banter with the audience will leave you laughing all show. Good music, check; good songs, check; musicians who play really well, check; great live show, double che -- no, triple check!

Roger Steen is an amazing Guitarist - you can see it in his eyes as he plays, his concentration is top of the line. Prairie Prince is a perfect drummer - he is quite a different player that can really play anything he wants too. Rick Anderson plays the Bass like a rhythm guitarist - just superb. David Medd plays the keyboards, he's comfortable being the glue between all the songs and he does it quite well - he doesn't step out in the light much, he's humble but very good. And then there's Fee Weybill the Front man - he put's on a great show - sings as well as he ever has, although he's not as young - His Humor and friendliness makes the difference too. All together they are a great band, very professional, and always fun to see. I personally have seen the 39 times, and always enjoy them.

I was thrown by the age of the crowd, they were much older than I expected. The band had high energy and had the old timers up and rocking(I am in my late 40s and these people were old). We enjoyed ourselves, but once is enough. The best part of the show was without a doubt after the encore.

I would say The Tubes were a cross between Frank Zappa with their creative song writing and Alice Cooper with their showman ship. I'm only sorry that this was the first time I came to one of their hilarious shows. Can't wait for the next show. Thanks to the whole band.

The show was at Talking Stick Resort in the Showroom. The theater is smail, which is good, so I could see the stage really well. The only thing I didn't like was the layout. It was very difficult to get up and go to the bar or bathroom, with only one end of the aisle open. Still, they put on a great show! I saw them the first time in the late 70's at Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, and it was the best show I ever saw. At the time, they went all out on the budget. Ree Styles sang with Fee Waybill on "Don't Touch Me There." That was 40 some odd years ago and I never forgot how wild and kinky their show was. Last Saturday night was a much lower budget production, but Fee made it a great performance. Also of course, Roger Steen, who I still believe is one of the best guitarists ever, was fantastic. The show brought back lots of good memories of my teen years. I was a TV Tube kid. The medleys of old TV shows were awesome. They also played a number of my favorites at this show. White Punks on Dope, my generations theme song. They also did Tubes World Tour, which was fantastic. They played What Do You Want From Life, and I always loved that song. They performed Talk to Ya Later, which was rocking the house. Fee's costumes were very cool. He has always been a great show man. Of course, he had to do Quay Lood, the drunken stoned character, that summed up white punks perfectly. He wore those outrageous shoes that must be at least a foot tall. Roger's guitar licks are so fantastic. He played a lot of really good solos and everyone seemed to be into his guitar licks. They played a really good encore, with some covers thrown in, like "I Saw Her Standing There" and Roger did a Jimi Hendrix song. All in all, it was a great show, and I would love to see them again.

Having never seen the Tubes, I was really looking forward to seeing them at The Talking Stick Resort Showroom, a great 700 seat venue. The band was great ... very tight. The sound for the band was crisp. Unfortunately, the vocals were very poorly mixed. You could not decipher any of the vocals/lyrics, and since Tubes songs are very lyrical and satirical, the music without being able to decipher the vocals/lyrics, the concert was mediocre. In the last few months, I'd seen Todd Rundgren and Dave Mason at the same venue and the vocals for their shows were crisp and clear, so I know its not the venue's acoustics. Not sure who managed the soundboard for this show, but whoever it was failed.

There is a reason old groups go to die, and the Tubes should have ended a long time ago! They started off sounding like a really crappy garage band, and they as the evening progressed it got worse. Thought for a minute they were mocking "This is Spinal Tap", but unfortunately they weren't. Fee Waybill sounds like a crotchety old man (pun intended) included his befuddled comments about a Prius and Better Call Saul TV show. Man, how did you get sooo out of touch??? Probably should have faded away back in the '80s rather than comically linger on playing at State fairs and Indian casinos.

The Tubes show at the Cave in Big Bear California this past Saturday night was fantastic! Far better than I expected. The Tubes were pretty good, but I have seen much better shows before. I think part of the problem was that the venue was only about 1/3 full so there wasn't a whole lot of energy in the place. Also, I felt the lead singer went off on a few too many meaningless tangents which took away from the enjoyment factor for me.

The last Time I saw the Tubes was about 20 years ago at Club Bene in Sayreville, NJ and I wish that would have been my last memory of them. While the musicianship of the band was superb, Fee Waybill remains an immature juvenile in an old man s body. The concert started out great with a couple of instrumentals giving every indication of a promising evening. Then Fee came out and it was downhill from there. Every other word out of his mouth was F this and F that. And as if that wasn t bad enough, for one entire song Mr. Waybill came on stage naked. My wife and the group of people I was with were horrified. Kudos to the stage hands for making the decision to not turn the stage lights up. A song or two later, when you thought it couldn t get any worse, Fee found a way. He came on stage in a spandex outfit with a bottle of scotch placed in his pants to look anatomically correct. I couldn t wait for the whole experience to end. This was a waste of time and money.

The Tubes put on another incredible show at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln Saturday night. They are still one of the best bands to see live in person. Amazing energy and great set list. The sound was good considering they played in a banquet room. I've been going to The Tubes concerts since the early days when they would play at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco. The band still has many of the original members and they are still great together. Fee Waybill is still one of the best lead singers / front men of all time.

Said Fee Waybill, lead singer for The Tubes, a band I've been following for over thirty years. "I've never heard of Englewood, but you have a really nice small town here. The fall foliage around this area is beautiful!. California is all brown now, so we don't get to see colors like this. I like it here, but I wouldn't want to visit in the winter!" The Tubes are a band that just keep on ticking. Virtually the same show every year, just small changes. Technically proficient, together they produce a great sound. Like most bands their age, you never know when it's the last time you'll see them. Speaking of the last time, I suspect they won't return to the Bergen PAC in Englewood again. For a decent size, two level theater, they barely had 250 people show up. A little sad. But they played like is was a full house. Because it was on Halloween, some band members wore masks and/or face paint. Of course, everyday is Halloween for Fee. I'll continue to see them play, as long as I can. It's all about the memories.

Class!! Got into The Tubes after the release of their What Do You Want From Live album in 78. I have waited 35 years to see them and I loved every minute. Travelled from England to New York and it was the highlight of my weeks visit! It took time for the gig to warm up as the back line sound wasn't very good for the group and they were struggling to hear each other. Once that was sorted, and the better songs were played the gig got even better. Loved Mondo Bondage and What Do You Want From Life. I was like a little kid in a sweet shop! Glad that I made the effort.....

First visit to BBK in Times Square. Long time Tubes fan. A little concerned about seating -no rows like a theater, but tables like a restaurant. Small cover charge. Arrived 45 min before show, place was half empty. Nice vibe, dark- very dark when coming in from street, cool and comfy basement location. Classy atmosphere, wait staff, small place. Two tier seating. Our hostess brought us to dead center of upper tier, front row seats against low wall. Close to stage! Food & drinks menu had good choices, fair prices. The Tubes were great, on their game, tight sound, very clear. Fun for all. Of course, Fee Waybill is out of his mind. Highly recommended! We will come back here! Saga in September.

Recorded music has been around a long time. I don't know how long, I am not a history buff. However, I can say with certainty that The Tubes are the greatest band in the history of recorded music. Why no one else knows this, I cannot explain. Perhaps the folks at the sold out Showcase Live at Patriot Place in Foxboro believe this. I was my first time to that venue and the sound was impeccable - perhaps due to the venue or Geoffrey's masterful mixing. I look forward to seeing The Tubes everywhere in the world whenever I can. I also look forward to the completion of The Tubes Project, an upcoming documentary put together by Michael Cotton and the band. Patriot Place was a stellar place to see The Tubes, they rock harder than Tom Brady's throwing arm and that is saying a lot.

If you've heard of the Tubes or ever saw them "back in the day" you'll know they were renown for their amazing staging and performances. Unfortunately far too ahead of their time and too early for MTV (they'd have been a smash) the Tubes did the heavy lifting for many bands that followed. Fee can still belt out the tunes so have no fear there. Prairie Prince shows why he is one of the best drummers in rock, period. No wonder he's sought out as a session man. Roger Steen and Rick Anderson play off of each other without a hitch, proving their craft at every turn. New guy David Medd helps fill the job of what used to be 2 keyboard players, and helps with vocals as well. They pound out their old "obscure times" hits, as well as their AOR smashes with equal aplomb. From "She's A Beauty" to "What Do You Want From Life?" you'll enjoy every minute of it. As usual, Quay Lude will make his entrance, and probably drink too much and pass out again, but not before belting out "White Punks On Dope". Finish it all with "Talk To Ya Later" and you have a fantastic show worth catching, you WILL be sorry if you don't!

This was a great show at the Bears Den for The Tubes. They all looked in good health. These guys are the best people in the world. This was a great show straight to the point with music. They played songs such as Suishi Girl, TV is King, and covers rumble, I saw her standing there. Came back with I was a punk before you were. Started off with No Mercy. Played smash hits like Talk to you later, She's a beauty, what do you want from life a great ballad I don't want to wait anymore, attack of the 50 foot women of course W.P.O.D.. You could hear and see there experience to move a room and we felt it. This was there first show of the year and David Medd was absent on keys on short notice Robert Berry stepped in with only 2 days to rehearse and he was great. With Fee head of motivation, Roger on development, Prairie on systems and Rick on policy and inspirit VInce, was there Bill, Mike, Re and Mingo, kenny O and the Tubes dancers. Had not seen them since the 70's. Brilliant! High energy! And as expected entertaining and funny. Waybill, although blessed with face made for radio, is still a dynamic performer. Musicianship par excellence. Highlight, there were many, was the covers slid in while Fee was changing costumes. A great rendition of 60"s TV theme Route 66 and a driving cover of the Mothers of Invention song Trouble Coming Everyday. the audience was definitely engaged and sang along loudly to al the hits. when they played White Punks On Dope it was apparent that the Punks can still rock. The encore closed with a killer version of Talk To You Later. Left satisfied, thrilled and tired, ears ringing. BRAVO!

The Tubes put on another high-energy show at The Canyon Club last Friday. They proved once again why they are now, and always have been a must-see band since their beginnings in the mid 70's. I've seen them three times previously and they always put on an amazing show and this was no exception although I liked them better when they had 2 keyboard players because they had such a huge sound live (not to imply that they don't still kick ass, because they do) Fee Waybill is still a great front man and always keeps the show interesting but the real star was drummer Prairie Prince whose incredible versatility and polish demonstrated why he is in such demand (he also plays for Starship and Todd Rundgren) In summary: the Tubes, in any configuration, still kick ass and take names and are a must-see band for a highly energized, imaginative rock show unlike any other...

I hadn't seen them since I was a kid. (Late seventies) and although the production value was not the same the music certainly was. No longer two keyboard players and another guitarist but they "put their heart" into it!! Great musicians and Mr. Waybill always the entertainer!! Impressive and "an evening of local favorites"!! Couldn't have gotten any better and they were kind enough to do a "Meet and Greet" after the show also.

As usual The Tubes put on another amazing show! Fee is the ultimate performer and front man. As a band they still have it... Roger shreds on the guitar and Prarie is still one of the best drummers I have ever seen! I would recommend a Tubes concert to anyone who wants to hear some of the best music ever made and laugh your butt off during the entire show :)

Although first i must say that i have been a Tubes fanatic even when they were the Beans. I saw the elaborate shows the topless women Quay sticking a cactus and throwing plastic quaaludes at the fans. Those will always be my memories. The Tube are still tight, they never missed a beat . My only issue was the lack of Cotton/Welnick their keys were a major factor in all that was and is the Tubes. Fee, Roger, Rick and Prairie maybe someday the entire gang will do a "special" show and video record it ..it would make millions. Ilove you guys, always!!

The Tubes never fail to give a great show, but this concert was particularly good. They have redone their show to include a few songs they haven't done in quite a while. Each member of the band is an exceptional musician and performer. It was clear that the entire audience was having a great time. It was an amazing show.

For a bunch of senior citizens, Fee, Prairie Prince and the guys managed to put on a high energy show! They played all of the hits and Fee came out on stage dressed in his various wacky costumes for added effect. The small venue was a perfect setting for a rather intimate and engaging show. The band experienced a minor technical difficulty with Praire's drum kit, but they were able to continue the show without skipping a beat.

The Tubes continue to be one of the most underrated acts in rock history. Fee Waybill in his 60's is a more exciting lead singer than any body at any age. Roger Steen's guitar work especially during " I don't want to wait any more" , is one for the ages. See them while they continue touring the world. You will not be disappointed.

It was my 5th Tubes show but the first in 20 years. I took 2 friends and my spouse who had never seen anything like it. I know they were skeptical on arrival but never said a word until we left, they havent shut up about it since. If you only get to see one show this year .....make it the TUBES.

I've been going to Tubes shows since the 70s. The shows are not quite the production numbers they were back then, and Fee's ass doesn't look the same as it did when he was in his 20s, but we still love them! One of my favorite bands of all time!

I could do without the anti-women rant and most of the antics -- the white punks on dope get-up was funny, but the "back-less" toga was more than I needed to see! Cheap tix for an "entertaining" evening!

We had such a good time! I took my "just turned 21" neice and introduced her to a piece of 80's nostalgia. What fun! She absolutely loved it! Of course "Quay Lude" is a classic...but the other costumes were just as good. Also, I was so impressed with Fee...his voice is amazing! I have been to other shows where the lead singer has gotten...let's just say a little older...and their voices didn't age well. Not Fee Waybill...this 61 year old can ROCK!

The Tubes came to milwaukww on Halloween night and did not disappoint. They started out with a few slow songs, and my wife didn't know what to make of Fee Waybill, but I told Her it would get better. They payed all the greats, saving the last two "POP" hits for the encore: She's a beauty, and Talk to ya Later". They played for two full hours, so for $10.00 a ticket, they really give you your moneys worth!

This is a great band! I see the BB King nyc show every year and it gets better and better. Fee Waybill (QWAY) wows the crowd everytime I see this band. Great to see Rick Anderson on Bass and Prairie Prince on drums. With these two guys the band is complete minus the Hot Chicks that toured with these guys. Maybe next year Fee can bring back the Girls that he would juggle on stage. More Mondo Boundage!!!!! Go and see the Tubes Live because 'What do you what from Life to stay at home and rot every night' Completion Backwards Principal is going to be re-issued! Talk to you Later

We loved seeing The Tubes at the Canyon. As always the Tubes delivered. A good sampling of old & new songs. The club itself was just the right size. We could see the stage from our seats. But if it were anymore crowded I could see where it could become uncomfortable. T.V. is King!

You know, I've seen these guys twice live -- once a couple of nights ago at the Canyon, and once in the late seventies when they were promoting their first and second albums. Then they had a huge, expensive show that was something like a depraved Vegas review with dancers, light shows, props and porn clips on video projection screens. That tour bankrupted them. Last night, they got pretty much the same bang and the only "production value" was Fee Waybill in various costumes. The guy's still got razor sharp timing, the band itself it tight and loose at the same time, and minimalism becomes them nicely. Lotsa bang, almost no bucks.

Fee.... what a show. They were a riot as well as providing excellent music. If anything they have gotten better over the years. Don't miss them if you have a chance. Like Frank Zappa always asked "Does humor belong in music? " the answer is YES!

Haven't seen the Tubes in, like 30 yrs (seriously), but I saw the gig at Talking Stick and thought, "this could be cool." WOW! Fe and the guys do not disappoint. So much fun. Fe is the ultimate entertainer, and the guys are all incredibly accomplished musicians. Prairie Prince and Rick were insanely tight and powerful, David on the keyboards was incendiary, and Roger is a rock guitar God! He even channelled Jimi Hendrix for an encore. These guys are the real deal, and if you are now, or have ever been a fan, you have to see them again. I haven't stopped talking about it since Saturday.
