Great show. Chris Shinn continues to do the old stuff justice and the entire band was in top form. Really great, high energy show. Chad Gracey can still drum like a king too. Almost fell over when Kevin Martin brought out the Gracious Few/Candlebox crew for an acoustic set to open. I completely missed that when I bought the tix so it was the best kind of surprise. Amazing.

Unbelievable show. Moved quickly through the set and played with passion and power. Set list comprised of a heavy dose of Throwing Copper as well as choice tracks from Mental Jewelry and Secret Samadhi. New songs came off great. Highlights include Lakini's Juice and White, discussion. Not to be missed.

If you don't care that there's a new singer, then you should see this band. Because if you can get past that, they're not bad. But if you go into this thinking you're gonna see Ed Kowalcyzk up there or at least a good replica- Don't do it.

From Dam at Otter Creek right through the last finale song of Horse, this was an amazing night. Excellent performance of my favorite album of all time. Chris Shinn and the entire band kicked ass. WOW! Where do I begin? The boys absolutely destroyed every expectation the crowd had. They were absolutely amazing, so on top of their game it was ridiculous. The HOB in the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City was beautiful, the perfect venue for this special event. Make no mistake, +Live+ is back and in a HUMONGOUS way.

We have seen Live many times over the years and they have always been good. While we think the new singer is as good as Ed Kolwalczyk was, their sound system was Terrible. We have been to House of Blues in AC also many times to see different bands and we never had to leave our seats because the music was so blaring loud. The seats were very good and I was totally disappointed that after a few songs we had to go down to the GA area in the back just to escape the high decibel of the music.

The whole show was just phenomenal, from Chad Gracey first pounding drum beat to the Dam At Otter Creek to the ending Untitled song with the member of Blind Melon. They played three other songs that were not on Throwing Copper including Pain Lies on the Riverside, The Dolphins Cry, and Lakinis Juice. The crowd was very energetic including all of the band members. Chris Shinn is a perfect addition to the band. I would total recommend this concert and this band cause they put on one heck of a show.

LIVE was awesome, as expected. Whoever booked the opening bad needs to find a new job. They were terrible. Half the audience was booing them. The guy just stood there throwing American flags around screaming/ranting while the band played dischordant 'music' in the background. Awful.

LIVE hasn't performed this well in over ten years. Their first headlining show since when, 2009, AND a new lead singer? My mind was blown. My love reignited. Chris Shinn is an incredible artist. I didn't miss "the other guy" even remotely (and I was afraid I might). The guys had so much energy, you would have sworn it was 1994 all over again. I'm afraid to go to any other concert ever again because that was literally the best thing I have ever seen in my life. If you loved LIVE then, you'll be head over heals now!

Live is great. The new lead singer does a great job. The opening band got booed off the stage though. The crowd hated them so they only stayed 20 minutes, which left 40 minutes of standing around waiting on Live to show up. I didn't even know there would be an opening band or I'd have come later. I'm way too old (like most of Lives fans) to be standing around that long. :)

I am not one to right reviews although I just had too. I can't say anything bad about Live, that was great. The problem I had is that the concert started at 8pm, we sat there for hour and a half and still nothing, FREEZING (it was uncomfortable and rediculous and I almost left) Then this HORRIBLE opening act/band comes out (THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THIS ON THE TICKET!!!) They screamed for at least 45 min and then.....after all set up....Live came on...I expected a concert at 8-8:30 and sat there for over two hours for nothing. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!

The opener and the main event were both terrible. The crowd was booing the opener 1/2 way through the performance and he remained on stage. The lead singer was screaming most of the time and had no talent. The main event, Live, was also disappointing. They have changed their lead singer and the group just didn't have the same passion/talent as previously.

I saw Live play the Summerland Tour in Myrtle Beach in June. Trust me when I say they owned the show and should have been the headlining act. I have nothing against Everclear, but Live owned the joint and you could feel the energy dissipate when their set ended. These guys need to be headlining their own shows. Chris Shinn is really impressive as a lead vocalist and is an excellent performer. I really hope this wasn't a one shot deal and these guys bring on new material and keep it going. They weren't just good as a nostalgic act, they were badass in any generation.

Live's performance at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas was nothing short of incredible! From the opening teaser of The Dam at Otter Creek as the band walked on stage it was obvious the 4 year wait was about to be made worth it! When the guys ripped into show opener All Over You, we were all reminded of truly great Live is on stage. New lead singer Chris Shinn has the voice to capture the fans. The growl in his voice was evident throughout Lakini's Juice, Operation Spirit and the closer White Discussion. This was my 11th time seeing the band and it was probably the loudest the band has been, definitely rejuvenated from the time off. Go see them on this tour and the coming tour with the new album!

Summerland Tour 2013 - What an amazing night! It was impossible to not have a great time. Of course, I was there specifically to see LIVE, but all four bands were very entertaining. Filter was the most impressive to me, of the other three bands. They put on a great show and their music, new and old, was awesome. They definitely gained a new fan in me, and I'm sure there were many others. LIVE absolutely was the highlight of the night for me and most of the crowd at The Electric Factory. New singer Chris Shinn is an incredible talent, and he and the band looked and sounded like they've been playing together for decades. I can't wait to hear their new album. I'm an old school live fan- same age as the guys in the band- and their albums and accompanying tours meant the world to me. I still have my tour shirts from back in 93 and 97- I have bootlegs and every CD single I could get my hands on so that I could have live versions of their music. After TDTH the music started to change- and I kept wishing for a return to Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi. I even went to see The Gracious Few and Ed solo after the split with Ed. It just wasn't the same. I left both shows bummed out. So it was with extreme caution that I went to see Summerland- Shinn is from Charlotte, NC- and was talking to friends out front of the venue. He nodded and smiled as I entered wearing a 97 Live Samadhi shirt. I asked if they we're playing Lakini- he said "I believe so" and I said you better. He laughed- I wasn't kidding. So the boys came out and they killed it- Shinn fits right in - he sings the older stuff the way I want to hear it- none of that falsetto crap Ed started doing. Shinn is entergentic and acts like he's been there all along- I heard the tracks on the web site with SHinns voice and wasn't too excited for the show. Now that I have heard Shinn live - I cant wait to hear the NEW stuff they are recording with him. Shinn struck a balance between being the lead singer/new guy that was respectful of the old material but made you understand that he's not holding Ed's place in line. Oh yeah and Chad Chad and Patrick- are exactly as awesome as you remember them to be. I loved every second of this show- and I cant wait to see them again at the House of Blues in Atlantic CIty

I had been waiting for this night a long time. Live has been my favorite band since the day I heard Throwing Copper. Then to experience Mental Jewelry shorty after, it was musical bliss. I have followed the band through all of their albums, and concerts. I was getting disappointed in the bands direction after The Distance to Here, although, I stuck it out and continued my support. After the hiatus in 2009 and learning why/how this happened, it all started making sense. The spirit of Live had died many years earlier. It became Ed's music, not Live's music. The collaboration was over. Ed wanted sole control. The other members rightfully resisted, to a degree. Not enough of a degree at the time, my opinion. It seemed Live were losing fans because the sound (especially the album, Songs from Black Mountain) did not capture the spirit of Live at all. It was ALL ED KOWALCZYK. This band was never about just Ed. When this band was at their peak, they all wrote, and performed their music together, with heart, soul, and passion. It all went downhill when Ed decided the band was only about him. Now that LIve has gotten back together with Chris Shinn as singer, the passion is back. Chris, Chad T, Chad G, Patrick are finally happy again doing what they love to do. Their performance spoke for itself. Chris is a true professional. He was up on stage commanding your spirit. He has brought back the essence that Live used to be. They are also the nicest people you will ever meet. And they want to meet YOU. Give them a shot and check out their show. YOU will NOT be disappointed.

This show was amazing. The HoB is a wonderful venue. I was by myself for this show so I had a seat in the balcony on the very front so I could see completely unobstructed. I have seen live (the old Live and the new Live) dozens of times and there was something up between the band members at this show. I won't use names to protect the innocent .. but the lead singer was out of it for this show. He appeared to forget lyrics, was not in synch with the band, and way to often would stop singing and point the microphone at the audience. It was probably one of the best perforemnces I have seen from the remaining members of the band .. but you could tell that there was trouble in paradise between the lead singer and the bassist,

Live's performance was great, but the sound was very muddy. If I didn't already know all the songs (except the new one) by heart, the show would have been much harder to appreciate. You couldn't hear the drums at all, which was a shame considering how hard Chad was obviously working. Not sure if that was the band's sound guy or the venue's, but please be aware for future shows.

This show was just ok. The biggest problem was that the bass was so ramped up that everybody else sounded strained and totally unbalanced. It was distracting. I wanted to say hold up! Start over! How their sound guy could not hear that is beyond me. Either that or the bass player was playing live and that apparently was a huge mistake. Other than that they played about 10 songs? Short, short show. But I'm not gunna lie. With that bass pounding my chest I wasn't too sad. They will continue to not be able to fill even small venues if they can't get the basics right.

First show I've seen with Chris Shinn, the new lead singer of LIVE, and even better, the band played the entire Throwing Copper album front to back. While Chris had some moments of jumbling lyrics, overall I was impressed by the energy of the show... much improved since the last LIVE show I saw in 2009, when the guys clearly weren't in sync musically, or personally... just "going through the motions." Hearing Throwing Copper played track-by-track was amazing, as many songs I have not seen/heard since my first LIVE show in 1995, and I was happy to hear them performed with the angst and rock that I fell in love with many years ago. Bottom line - is this LIVE from 1995? No, not quite. But is is better than LIVE 2002-2009? Absolutely.

I did not get a chance to see Live during their heyday, but always wanted to. This was my chance, but I entered the show with trepidation that Live would feature mostly songs from the new album and play only a few of the old hits. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the show. It was like listening to a greatest hits album with the benefit of a very energetic live show. Live seemed to enjoy themselves as well, which I think must be difficult when you have been playing the same songs for 15+ years. Ed played to the crowd and even joked around a bit. Overall, a great show and great set list.

One of my all time favorite bands. They are always energizing and fun. I love that they played all their loved songs and not all new stuff - shows they really care about their fans. I only wish it was longer or maybe that they ended it with a different song - not a criticism - just a thought. I just know they can cover songs like nobody's business! My husband who is very hard to please said it was a really good concert and HOB is a fun place to see them. Great show! Great time!

Great show last night, as usual for Live! House of Blues is a great venue for them! Good audience mix, too. Seemed a dab shorter than their usual shows, but they encored with White Discussion so I went home happy!!

The band had great music, but even better was their interaction with the crowd. I've never seen a crowd so into the show, and the singer definitely furthered that.

When we bought the tickets there was no opening act, so we thought we would get a solid 1 1/2 - 2 hour performance. Not the case, there were TWO opening acts whose music did not blend well with the LIVE crowd. Once the show got started at 10:50pm, I was not impressed with the song selection. I have always had a great time whenever I have seen LIVE. Next time I will have to think hard before driving the two hours to Cleveland for a one hour show.

Absolutely awesome show! I expect nothing less from one of my favorite bands, Live! This was the 4th time seeing them and I will continue to go to their shows as long as they keep touring! The House of Blues was a cool venue however the place was PACKED and being only 5 feet tall it was impossible to actually see the stage for most of the show but it rocked nonetheless.

I saw the set list soon after arriving at HOB and was psyched to recognize (and love) nearly every song on there. The few that I had not heard before also rocked. The band really put on a great show led by their energetic front man. This was my second concert at this venue and there does not appear to be a bad seat in the house.

Live was one of the best shows I've seen. They have great energy and of course their music rocks. It was noticable that the entire band has a lot of passion for what they do, which made it even more enjoyable. The crowd was crazy but the venue made it still seem like an intimate concert.

Seems Live is less live than a record. Didn't seem to be much added ebnergy compared to the album versions of songs.

For a band that performed throughout the 90s, their music is not lost in this decade. From the moment they took the stage, their presence was energetic; nothing about it felt old. This was not a tour to promote a new album, so the audience got what it wanted in a variety of hits from all of their past records. Ed Kowalczyk danced and sung, but he also spoke to the audience and made them feel as though they were special. It was great show, with great energy, and if you ever get the chance to see them- go!

There is a reason the call themselves LIVE! They were amazing, can't believe this show did not sell out, I felt a little embarrassed that only the bottom level was full with a few upstairs at House of Blues.

Great show! The sound was clear and loud! Ed's vocals were right on as always and his between song monologues were at times funny, and uplifting. Chad's guitar licks were impeccible, and Pat's bass riffs were powerful, thumping right through your chest. Chad Gracey's work on the skins made your heart want to try to keep up with the beat. They played some great old favorites, and some of the newer songs as well. Between the hard rocking hits and the melodious ballads, it was an emotional rollercoaster that feels like you've been through a spiritual epiphany. I see these guys everytime the come to Dallas and thier shows get better and better. The venue was great at the House of Blues too, becasue I was standing only 2 to 4 people from the front of the stage barriers.

After over 15 yeArs of performances, live still rocked it out like pros. The energy of the band in combination with the intimacy of the house of blues, set a scene not even a deaf person would forget. With all the favorite tracks played, as well as an old tune by Bob Dylan sang acoustic gave way to a very unforgetable night in Dallas Texas.

I was extremely excited to be at a standing room only concert, second row from the stage. I've also seen them at the Cajundome. This was so much more personal. I think that it is great that the play smaller venues.

First I must state that +Live+ is my favorite band of all time so take that into consideration. This was my 7th time to see them. My favorite show of their's was at Aerial Theater (Verizon Wireless now) during the Distance to Here tour. This show at the House of Blues ranks right next to it. There was a lot more energy in the building for this show versus their last 2 visits to Houston. Probably because they stayed away from the softer Black Mountain songs. The band seemed to choose a set list that encompassed their full journey as a band. The stand out songs for me were "Hold Me Up" which I heard on bootleg recording back in the Napster days and the new song "Believe" which I had never heard. I was extremely happy with this show. Unfortunately they will not be back for awhile because of their hiatus, but maybe Ed will roll through town doing his solo stuff. Either way, whenever +Live+ comes to town, I go. They never disappoint.

Fantastic show at the HOB. Ed really gives it everything he's got in concert. They played all the songs we wanted to hear plus some and sounded GREAT! House of Blues is not the greatest venue in town but one thing it does have is great sound.

I have seen +Live+ 30 times now and they still have the power and love as strong as the first time I saw them! Shinn is amazing with keeping the sound of +Live+ alive! Chad, Chad and Patrick are still as memorable as the first time I saw them back in '91. I was lucky enough to meet the guys twice and they are the most down to earth and loving group. I would so recommend seeing them rock like they did back in the day if you get the chance!
