I went to this production thinking it would be something to do on an afternoon other than sitting at home. We drove in from Oklahoma City to Forth Worth to see the production. From the moment Sally Struthers stepped on stage I knew I was going to have a great time. Her style and acting abilities brought each and every person in the audience on stage. And the singing was unbelieveable. I walked away from this production feeling as if I had been on broadway.

I purchased two tickets to Always Patsy Cline as a surprise birthday present for my wife who is an ardent Patsy Cline fan. The seats were great - so close to the stage! I was not sure what to expect of the show itself but knew the subject was one she would like. We both had an absolute blast! If you closed your eyes you would swear that Patsy herself was singing all of my wife's favorite songs (mine too). And it was so funny too! One of the best live performances I have ever seen.

Once again this production took you back in time to the days of the best of country music. I grew up listening to Patsy Cline and it was wonderful to see how genuine a person she really was. I saw this production with Mandy Barnett when she originally performed it and this performance was just as good 20 years later. Teri was phenomenal also. I will continue to attend and to recommend this tribute to a fabulous singer and great performers!

Bravo! What a lovely review of Patsy Cline's brief career! The play was realistic and heart-warming. My wife and I enjoyed the humor and the thorough review of Patsy's repertoire. It was not just a playlist of her hits, but the songs were woven into a beautiful story.

The entire event from ease of obaining tickets to the production and cast members was outstanding. I would especially like to comment on the actions of a female usher who quickly identified a seating problem and relocated us to more acceptable seats that were even closer to the stage. The professional attitude of the usher made a posssible dreadful evening into a truely enjoyable event. Often, only the actors are commended for their performances, but this usher along with all other supporting indiviuduals should be recognized.

What an enjoyable evening! We saw the show on the last night of its' run in Nashville. We were there to visit our daughter who lives in Nashville. We were in the first row which only held 3 people so it was perfect. Such a wonderful show. The only negative was that so many people were taking pictures with flash constantly going off. I would think that was a distraction to the actors also. We were so glad to have gone thta evening.

Gail Bliss as Patsy Cline was amazing. She looked exactly like her and her voice was almost identical to Patsy Cline. The band was also incredible and never missed a beat. This was a gift to my wife, and I was not certain what I was getting into. However, it was outstanding. The lead captures the spirit of Patsy s music, if not every nuance of Patsy s distinctive tone. After the first few songs you don t care that she is not trying to be an impersonator or sing things exactly like Patsy. You just enjoy the music and the ride. Gail Bliss and Jeri Sager are fantastic as Patsy and her adoring fan Louise.

The music was dead on, couldn't tell the difference. Lisa Layne's voice was impressive, she made it look easy. The way it was presented was fun and light with a good sense of humor in a southern style. Overall a very nice time and we always love the Landmark, such a beautiful building.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lisa Layne as Patsy Cline. She has the voice and talent to carry it off with poise and grace. The back up band was very good and the woman (Lisa's real life sister) excelled in the role of Louise. Unfortunately, I do not know her name, nor the names of any of the others because there was no program handed out. I do not know whose responsibility this is, but even every elementary school play I have been to has a program. The staging left much to be desired, definitely low-budget, but Lisa made you forget all that with her wonderful voice. I think this would have played better in a smaller, more intimate venue. I thought I was getting great seats--- first row in the loge, but it really was too distant from the stage and the sound was meant to project into the first floor audience, not the loge.

This show in the beautiful Landmark Theatre was a superb show! The singer portraying Patsy was amazing, and spot on! She looked the part, sang beautifully and was very personable with the audience. The actress playing Louise almost stole the show! She was hysterically funny and a vital part of the story. I thought the weaving of the story of Patsy's life was a great way to fit her songs to what was going on in her life. I would recommend this show to anyone who loved Patsy!

The performance was fantastic. Patsy's voice was channelled impeccably, the band was great, especially the piano and pedal steel guitar, and Louise was excellent in her ability to pick up the pieces and the pace. On the down side, it took a good while for the sound crew to amp up the volume adequately, the set was noticeably minimalistic, and unfortunately the audience was too small for the wonderful theatre. The only advertisement we saw for the show was via a Ticketmaster email. And there was no Sunday morning paper review to stimulate a better showing for the Sunday afternoon performance. I wish them success and would like to see the show again in a year or so to see how it has come along. Best Wishes, Jim and Catherine Steinman Syracuse, NY

I must say I was disappointed. The actress playing Patsy Cline was excellent with a terrific voice that captured the sound of Patsy. However, I found the character that was played by Sally Struthers extremely annoying and distracting. I guess this was less the fault of Sally but more about the character that was written for her part. Loud, obnoxious with no obvious connection to the core story of Patsy Cline, Sally's character was a huge negative impact on enjoying the show. In addition, although the music was excellent, it was basically just a string of songs with no underlying context of Patsy's career and life story. Unlike the Carol King musical, it never explained her beginnings, her struggles, her successes....just twenty songs sung without any structure or story line.

Fabulous show. Did not disappoint. A must SEE. Outstanding performance by Sally Struthers as Louise Seger and Carter Calvert as Patsy Cline. Ms. Struthers was funny and entertaining. She keeps the show moving and interacted with the audience. Ms. Calvert sang about 27 Cline songs that included "Crazy", "I Fall to Pieces", and "Walking After Midnight". A massive number of songs were sung in the two hours. The initial impression was with the excellent quality of the Star's voice. Before it was time for intermission you completely forgot it was not really Patsy Cline up there singing to you. The interaction between the two ladies was very real. With an under current of sadness that was Patsy's life, there was friendship, laughter and bonding with the audience. A thoroughly enjoyable evening of entertainment.

We love Pasty Cline.... BUT it was clear the actors were trying to get through the songs as fast as they could.

This was one of the best shows I've seen anywhere. Interactive, fun show that transports you in time. After a couple of numbers, you will believe Gail Bliss IS Patsy Cline.

This show was fair, at best. The patsy Cline music is fabulous - too bad the lead did not do it justice at all. She has little low register ability and less emotion. The actress who played Louise, however, was a hoot! Really funny, engaging and established great rapport with the audience.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from the show. But, being a fan of Patsy Cline's music, I had to go. It was suprisingly funny! 'Louise' was hysterical. The music, while not spot-on Patsy, was beautiful.

i had seen this in 1997 at northwestern university. this production was different though. i thought the music was great (loved the accompanying band). loved the costumes. the performances were very good. wish she could have sung some of the songs all the way through, not just a few verses. was a perfect venue for this production. overall it was very enjoyable. still find it hard to believe that nearly 50 years later her music and her sound are still crowd drawing.

I love Patsy Cline music, however, the narrative left a bit to be desired. The performance of the woman telling the story of how she met Patsy Cline was over done and detracted from the presentation. The singing was good and the backup band was great. Would have preferred just the music and less story line.

The singing was extremely well done. The narration and interaction between the two actresses was great and kept me up to date on what was happening and why. I felt the audience was also very taken with the entire play. Interactions with the audience by the Louise character was lighthearted and gave the play a fun element. I have seen the play twice and would see it again if it is offered in a venue close enough to travel to. Very well done.
