Bassnectar & Pretty Lights

No need for much explanation here, both Derek and Lorin are A-class performers and Basslights is an event at the pinnacle of bass music. Will not be disappointed.

This is a truly mind blowing experience! I think that everybody should experience this at least once in their life.

I went to the Friday and Saturday night shows, both nights were so much fun! The atmosphere at this type of concert just makes it that much better. Those two nights were amazing!

Incredible, just absolutely amazing. Pretty lights is the best DJ ever to see live and this is the best venue for a light show.

Bassnectar never disappoints and Pretty Lights definitely threw down as well. Will be very disappointed if Basslights doesn't return next year. I need to experience this again

This is the best show I have ever been to, hands down. It was my first Basslights in 2014 and my mind was blown the FIRST night. When I finally calmed down, I got hyped up right again when I remembered there was a whole SECOND night to go! PL and Nectar are ridiculously good...great venue, great people, great vibes. GO TO THIS SHOW!

this show has taken me to new unseen places in my life.. def what i needed to expand my way of thinking on how beautiful life really is when you have such fun loving friends and loved ones around you in a magnifacant setting like hampton VA!!

It was unforgettable! Bassnectar and Pretty Lights both killed it. The lights were unforgettable and the visuals were insane. Such an amazing experience. So many good vibes were within the mothership.

I could not have imagined a better event than the two day BassLights concert in December! The supporting acts were amazing and enough can not be said for Bassnectar and Pretty Lights. We will attend this event again!

2 nights. Thousands of people. Basslights was amazing. The city of Hampton, VA was as welcoming as the weather (60° in January). Our hotel was a little anxious about the hard-partying concert attendees mixing with middle school girls' basketball teams, but both demographics got along well. The venue is dope. Event staff was way chill and you didn't feel like you were a criminal or something, unlike a lot of other places I've been. Sound system was on POINT for the whole thing. A couple little crackles during the openers but no problems during PL/Nectar. Hampton Colliseum is well maintained and the atmosphere was AWESOME the entire time. All the artists were amazing and brought their A-Game. Saturday was Beats, Exmag, PL, then Nectar. Beats was somethin' else. They were, very surprisingly, VERY bass-y. It was awesome - you guys killed it. Exmag was amazing. Sadly I was a little busy finding some lost hippies during most of his set but from what I heard he really did do a great job. Sunday was Elliot Lipp, Chromeo, Nectar, then PL. Elliot Lipp burned the house down. Dude, if you read this, pat yourself on the back cause that was sick. Chromeo was good! Can't knock them, but their DJ set lacked flow. Felt kinda jumbled but I could dig it. Bassnectar: Thank you. I saw you in Pitt a few months ago and you somehow blew yourself outta the water with this performance. My. God. Pretty Lights: I saw you at my school a few years ago and you were great. But at Basslights, I dunno man... You were perfect. I heard every track I wanted to - new stuff and some great throwbacks. I could write a whole review on your sets. That was something special, especially Sunday.

this show was one of the best two day concerts i have gone to. i would recommend this concert to everyone because everyone at the show was so friendly and respectful of others.also the performance the the artist was amazing pretty lights had the best show in my mind visually and musically. bassnectar also had a amazing also but i feel as if he held back a little bit maybe but still had a very good show musically. this cocncert is a most for anyone new to this seen or this type of music would be a great introduction

Third year of Basslights in Hampton. Best sound of all the venues I've seen bassnectar in. Will continue to go as long as it happens. Basslights is an emotional experience from the people to the music.

I love bassnectar, he always plays amazing shows. I was a little upset he didn't play some of his biggest hits, I and I know of others were looking forward to hearing his most popular songs but as always he does not disappoint and puts on a great show. This years openers were alright but years past have been better. Pretty lights was amazing the night he head lined. I would go again but I would hope they played the tracks everyone wants to hear and have awesome opening acts. All in all basslights 2014 was a success and one hell of a time!

The event was 2 nights of both Bassnectar and Pretty Lights playing both nights, switching off positions of final act or runner up. Not enough words can describe how incredibly amazing the whole weekend was! Between the production level, performances, venue and energy from the crowd it would be impossible to not have the absolute time of your life! Bassnectar not only has such a vast array of music to select from which the whole list of songs are all great songs, he has some of the most intense insane well choreographed visuals i have ever seen!! The sound system is so massive and so heavy that it will make every part of your body shake and feel it in your core! Overall performance was really a 6 STAR review but wont allow me to put that! Pretty Lights is self explanatory in his name alone, he has some really really pretty lights, lasers and visuals. PL performance was great in it own way and alot more groovy funky jazzy kind of feel with moments of higher energy but still great act!

How can you deny Pretty Lights and Bassnectar? Let alone two nights of each?! Omg such a good time. The craziest party I've seen them throw. We drove from Buffalo and it was totally worth it.

This show will change your life. Prior to the show i recently saw bassnectar at SSMF and halloween in peoria and pretty lights once before. So i knew what i was walking into at least i thought i was. I was so wrong. The Stage set up was nothing like i have ever seen before 100s of lasers over huge 15 panels for lorin and at least 20 for derek. Night one lorin threwdown so hard the floor was vibrating from all the bass and ceiling was falling on us but that didnt stop us from raging with one another in the crowd and grooving the whole night. Night 2 lorin's wubs were just as amazing but this night was about derek. Derek mixed so many songs together from his albums it was like a pretty lights lasagna and when i say that he took so many layers from different songs and put them together. my favorite was you get high/yellow bird/hot like sauce. I Will be back every year from now on even with the 20 hour drive there.

Wow was that awesome. Bassnectar and pretty lights killed it. But the performance of the weekend definitely belongs to Beats Antique! They were absolutely amazing.

I don't really think you can beat two of your favorite artists both playing at the same place two nights in a row. The opening acts were also great, and the venue was awesome. This event blew my mind and I am pretty sure I will be going every year as long as it is physically possible!

Both nights were excellent! PL is my fav...but all knocked the plaster from the walls. See you in 2015!

My word these artists simply murdered it at the coliseum especially Bassnectar and Pretty Lights, but Beats Antique threw in some fire to the mix too! My body was simply filled to the brim with bass, and I could not have asked for any better outcome. Great music, great sound quality, great crowd, just an incredible show all around.

Amazing show, amazing crowd, so many positive vibes. Great lineup. Only thing that was lame was waiting in line for 45 minutes while an employee slowly searched every nook and crannie of people while other lines flew in.

If you are thinking about going next year do it. This is the best place in the world for 2 days. I could say other words but nothing could explain the beauty that is Basslights without experiencing it.

Basslights was an amazing experience. If you like Bassnectar, this is a must see event. The only change I would recommend is the age limit. The younger aged attendees made it less enjoyable, but not enough to ruin the experience.

This was my third year attending Basslights in Hampton, Virginia. Needless to say, I will be attending every future year that it happens!

best show I've ever been too, loved bassnectar before but seriously fell in love with him after the last two nights. pretty lights threw down too. unforgettable expierence. can't wait till next year!!!!!!

These two are just the best at what they do...that's it. Chromeo felt like a bar mitzvah and beats antique were a bit strange but once nectar and pl come on who cares. Nectar's sets both nights were great but PL's closing set might be the best I've ever seen. Awesome guys, awesome fans, awesome venue, definitely going back next year.

Basslights is easily the best event I've ever been to outside of a Festival environment. Production was unreal, sound was booming vibes were awesome, and the venue was amazing! 10/10 will be there next year!

Speechless from this amazing event. I had the time of my life in Hampton. The venue was perfect and beautiful and it was awesome being under the same roof that some major shows have been played under. Cant wait for next year!!!

Usually it is hard for one to pick out a single day in their life and title it "the best day of their life". But the two day show of Basslights was hands down the greatest two days of my life. The bass vibrated from head to toe, the lights were amazing, the fellow bassheads were a pleasure to be amongst. The venue was massive and simply perfect for that event. Every artist brought something amazing to the table. I had seen Bassnectar prior, but to see him and Pretty Lights two nights back to back was incredible. I will never forget this weekend and if it's a go in 2014, I will be there no doubt. As should you.

Only reason I gave it a 4 stars is Saturday night too many people waited in lines for 50+ minutes and there was no purpose. We missed the intro guy and the beginning of Datsik. Either let people use their phones to get in or don't allow at all. The venue is amazing and you have plenty of room to move around. Other than the line waiting saturday it was perfect.

Title says it all. Too many good things to describe here but this was the best dub show that I have ever seen. Lorin (Bassnectar) came with incredible energy as always... IMO... Left Pretty Lights in the dust. Amazing show.. Wish there was a rewind button to do it all over again.

This show was simply the best thing I could do for an end to the year in the range of my budget being a full time bio/chem student working at mellow mushroom of all places. Saw PL in Charlotte in November this year at the Bojangles Coliseum the next day or so they released the advert for Basslights.... Needless to say I bought my tickets immediately, being broke has never felt so good. Oh and huge side note.........this being an all ages show, I had the chance to stop for a second on the first night to congratulate a father for bringing his two sons to the show who looked about 10 and 13 maybe ( im not good at judging ages but they were young ) Told him he was kickass and he replied with a huge smile saying he was simply trying to "pass the torch"........not to mention his kids were decked out in Pretty Lights gear!!!! I'm glad I meet people like that at these types of events they are all over and they are amazing people!!!!!

The best show I've ever been to in my life! And it was 2 nights in a row? WHAAAT?!?! So sick! The people were amazing, the sets were off the chain, and the vibes were all time!!! The mothership has landed in Hampton, VA and its name was Basslights!!! Pretty Lights and Bassnectar threw down heavy and so did the rest! Thank you Griz, Big G, Gramatik, A-Trak, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, and the whole EDM family for the most epic, fun, wild of a time any bass head could ask for! Much love

Absolutely incredible show and unforgettable night. I was only able to attend the second night of the event and I seriously regret not buying a ticket to both! I didn't want the night to end! All the DJs put on a fantastic show and the venue was great. Pretty lights for the finale was absolutely incredible, pretty sure I lost my touch with reality somewhere in the crowd.

PrettyLights gets a 8 out of 10. Bassnectar scored a perfect 10. Worth every penny.

I was never a big fan of this type of music but after going both nights, I WON'T MISS ANOTHER SHOW! I had so much fun!!!! I've never been to such a huge dance party.

We took this little jailbait 17 year old with us from the hotel, and she dipped as soon as we got there to find her friends. We found the crew in the grass and beats antique was on, then we heard pretty lights. started feeling really great, bassnectar came on, Clemson scored a touchdown and the beat dropped. BEST SHOW EVER, hands down

Seriously, stop reading this and start making your plans to visit Hampton this December. You couldn't possibly make a better decision than this one. JUST DO IT.

Basslights is always a great time- the mothership is the perfect venue for the fusion of these two great artists.

Both Bassnectar and PL played incredible sets. Insanely high production value coupled with a huge, accomodating venue, and unforgettable music made for one of the best concerts I have ever been to. 5 gold stars for Basslights.

Hands down two of the best nights of my life. Absolutely amazing venue filled with the best of people, and these two blew the roof off the place! We were on the floor night one and found really good seats in the back for night two, and both spots sounded just as great. You can be anywhere in this place and hear perfectly, and there is the added advantage of being able to see everything very well too from the seats. Overall my favorite place to see these two incredible artists, very personal show that they both put all of their energy into. 10/10 will be back next year for my third basslights in a row

PLEASE HAVE THIS EVENT AGAIN IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, FUN, EXCITING 2 DAY EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. SO WORTH THE 6 HOUR DRIVE.

SO BORING. Like seriously, don't go. Too many bassheads & hippies. Nobody shared any dank. Just a bunch of really good music, lights, lazers, blah blah blah

This show was incredible. The venue was great and easy to get to with plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby. The sound quality was great. There were plenty of food/drink vendors. There could have been a few more bathrooms - had to stand in line several times, but could have just been going at poor times. Bassnectar and Pretty Lights are just amazing artists and the experience was unlike anything else I've ever been to.

It was my first time attending this event and it was absolutely incredible. Blew my mind!

I am a huge Bassnectar and Pretty Lights fan. These two put on a show that us absolutely the best out there. Please Lorin and Derek, don't stop doing Basslights. It by far is the highlight of my year.

This concert felt like I was in heaven, definitely one of the best concerts Ive ever been to! The venue is very large and everyone is just grooving and headbanging together. Even if you aren't really a bassnectar/pretty lights fan you will definitely be obsessed after attending this concert! I strongly recommend going at least once! I am going to go until they stop performing which is hopefully not any time soon!

Night 1 was lackluster to say the least but Night 2 was just insane, best Basslights out of my 3 year attendance. The coliseum got their security check act together on night 2, night 1 was a mess. Overall great event, hope that this happens again and that PL and Bassnectar both put in 110% on both night 1 and night 2. Night 1 was paying for an overpriced light show with terrible music. Need better openers... there is too much electronic talent in this world to bring dud's to open for such huge acts.

While I thought that being in a coliseum with both seats and an open floor would cause a problem, the area was very free-flowing and worked great for this sold out show! Basslights is all about the Basshead/Pretty Lights community coming together for something wonderful, which it was!

This was hands down the most beautiful experience I've ever been apart of.

10K strong crowd with awesome vibe! Everyone was so excited to be there, including Bassnectar and Pretty Lights! The crew was on point, security was just the right level of watchful for people doing stupid dangerous things without interrupting anyone's adventure, and the building literally shook with the sound. I could feel Bassnectar SHAPING the air in the building with sound waves... WOMP. That is all.

I can honestly say this was the best show I've been to in my life. If I could preorder tickets for the next decade, I would.

This was quite possibly one of the best events I've ever been to. I would highly recommend going to see Bassnectar live if you haven't! I've seen Pretty Lights multiple times already, and every time he puts on a great show.

I've gone to the Hampton coliseum the past two years and every concert is a completely new, completely different, & unbelievably mind blowing experience.

Hampton Coliseum is a great venue... friendly staff, easy access to everywhere, clean bathrooms, plenty of options for concessions and water, light security to name a few. Aside from the venue, the show itself was absolutely amazing. This was my second year at Basslights in Hampton. Last year was great, but this year far exceeded my expectations. Michael Minert, Keys & Krates, Datsik, and Big Gigantic were all awesome openers. Bassnectar didn't thrill me night 1 opening up for Pretty Lights, and a blown soundboard caused Pretty Lights to skip about 15 minutes of his show. But when night 2 came around Pretty Lights dropped the shit out of some bass, and Bassnectar absolutely floored me. This was probably the 13th or 14th time I have seen Bassnectar... I have seen him at festivals, arena-style shows, and intimate shows with maybe a few hundred attendees tops. This was by far his most diverse, energetic, and all around exciting show I have ever seen by him (and maybe anyone else, for that matter). Kudos! Only bad thing about the whole event is that the COliseum has a midnight curfew which kinda blows, but tears need not be shed.

This show was great. I felt very safe with the security, while not feeling like i couldn't have fun with them there. The artists were amazing, it was my 15th time seeing Pretty Lights, and 20th time seeing Bassnectar, and it was easily one of the best shows i have seen either play. Thanks!

This event was a life changing event. The BNF and PLF coming together to make BLF just had good family vibes everywhere. The Coliseum looked like the mothership and boy did we almost shake it down with so much bass!

The Coliseum is an awesome venue. It has three levels including the ground floor. There was a lot of smoking in the crowd so you had to go all the way outside to get legitimate fresh air. Caps weren't allowed on water bottles Even though we bought them. The bass was crazy loud and pretty lights actually blew the system the second night but recovered in like 5 minutes. Big Gigantic and Datsik were great openers and Bassnectar and Pretty Lights held it down as well.The workers there were all really nice and polite and I think everyone had a great time! Staying at the days inn was probably the best decision. Can't wait for 2k14!

Big gigantic and bassnectar KILLED it on Friday, pretty lights not so much but was still awesome. On Saturday though....Datsik was freakin insane then pretty lights proceeded to play the best set EVER...and then bassnectar...oh bassnectar..he SLAYED IT. Best concert I have ever intended the energy was unbelievable. If you didn't go I feel slight sympathy for you..so awesome.

Well it was Pretty Lights and Bassnectar two days in a row...that in itself should be enough. Day one was awesome made some great friends everyone was wicked chill openers were great then Bassnectar set the stage for Pretty Lights who blew out his speakers....still a good night. Day two however oooooo man. no wait between set change-overs datsik brought it super heavy. PL made up for breaking the set with an amazing second night and Bassnectar tore the place up with his set. First basslights and will definitely not be my last. Worth the 8.5 hour drive from Connecticut. Will go again next year HELLO FRIENDS

The show was awesome !! Everyone working the the show were very pleasant and friendly, which is unusual!

Pretty Lights have us such a great show Friday night and went so hard that they blew out their speakers and Bassnectar absolutely killed it saturday night. Had the best time ever and met so many amazing people. The embassy suites turned up all weekend. Basslights knows how to get funky.
