Hampton Spring Jam Music Festival

This show was a dream come true for Me and they did not disappoint!

I went especially to see Tank, but Brandy and Keith Sweat rocked da house!!

Monica was awesome, dru hill was missing members and using little cousins and brothers to fill in, something was wrong with Michel'le and she was booed off the stage. Jagged Edge set was cut down from an hour to twenty minutes and Guy I don't even want to talk about how bad they were!! The MC said the n word entirely too much.

Every singer gave their all. It was worth every penny and the coliseum staff were very friendly and helpful!

It was nice to see the "old school" performers. Keith Sweat looked great! There was a part of his performance that was unnecessary and inappropriate. He told the women of the Audience that he was grabbing his crouch and they should grab their private parts too. What was the purpose of that? Also, one of the "Guy" singers took an article of clothing that A woman threw on the stage. He placed it inside his crouch area, rubbed it and threw it back to her. Disgusting! The lead SWV singer was wonderful. DruHill's performance was good.

The show was very nice, but some of the artis need to come out and do a sound check first. Some of the artis you could not hear over top of there background music. Their mica was a little low. But my wife and I really enjoy the show.

Keith Sweat and Dru-Hill was great I would love to see them two again. However SWV and GUY was missing a group member.

That was the concert to jump off the year. Keith tore it up. Dru Hill kilt it! SWV.... those girls--Coco--oh my, their voices.... perfection. Guy was a little off, but still entertaining and I was just in love with the whole night. Love, Love, Love!!!! Must see them all again. That was a great concert and I wish I could re-do it all over again.

Seem like everyone lost their voice over the years ... smh waste of money, Monica was great... that is all

The concert began late so to pass type the MC went through the crowd making fun of the people. Dru Hill was first and I felt they were rushed because they were off the stage in about 30 minutes. Jagged Edge was next and they said they prepared to perform for an hour but were only given 20 minutes. Michel'le had the worst performance I saw in my life. She should've went first. No backup singers just a DJ. She got booed because of her poor performance. Monica and Guy did well but they kept having microphone issues.

The concert was great, Dru hill did their thing, J.E. was missing a member but did okay with out him, Monica tore it up as expected....Michel'e was clearly under the influence of a controlled substance, she kept talking instead of singing and her voice has truly changed over the years....the crowd even started to boo her! Guy was the closing act and when I say they shut it down....they shut it down, they hit all of their hits, they kept dancing and stayed insync with each other!!

All around bad show. There were technical difficulties throughout the show (sound system and mics). Michelle was bad. It appeared as if she was on something. She sang 1 1/2 songs, although "Something in my heart" was decent. She was booed off very loudly! Dru Hill was on stage very long, maybe 20 minutes. Jazz wasn't there and they didn't sound that good. More Sisquo than Dru Hill. Jagged Edge was missing a member as well. There performance was more hiphop than r&b. They have nice songs but tried too hard to be hiphop instead of just singing. Monica was excellent and there were no technical difficulties during her performance.. Guy would have been better if not for the technical problems. Aaron Hall's mic was coming in and out most of the time! The comedian was very good messing with folk as he walked through the audience.

The show was awesome. Monica dru hill and jagged edge was the best.

It was awesome. It was few mishaps that could have been fixed but overall we enjoyed the show

Love the show except for the sound this venue rather have the music up so loud that you can not hear the performers perform

Monica was outstanding. Also enjoyed Guy. Disappointed in Michel'le. The music was to loud during Dru hill and Jagged Edge

Jagged Edge time was cut short. Monica made it worth it.

Dru Hill was pretty good as well as Jagged Edge , Monica stole the show her performance was amazing , Guy was average and don't know Michele was singing at all love the comic very very funny

My husband and I really enjoyed the show! He is a Guy and Jagged Edge fan and I am a Dru Hill fan. Monica was in a class all by herself!! She did her thing. The host, Comedian G Thang (I think that's his name-Gary Jenkins) was HILARIOUS!!! I would certainly go to one of his shows as well. Altogether, great concert!!

Monica should have been the headliner. She was awesome!!! Guy- sounded like there were some issues with Aaron's microphone; could hardly hear him singing

The lighting at the venue was horrible, it was extremely dark. Sound system not that great, seats were terrible, way too close together for the money you pay for tickets. We had floor seats, everyone was standing up in front of us, in order to see anything, we had to stand up. The performers were great, for the most part. The comedian was great.

The lineup for Spring Jam 2017 gave a great show. Everyone did a fine job from Monica, to Dru-Hill, Jagged Edge, Guy featuring Teddy Riley, & Michelle'.The MC was hilarious. Please, bring this whole lineup back!!!

The sound was off for Guy. Me'chele was horrible! Monica was the best. She engaged the crowd and I would go see her again.

Overall it was a great concert!!! I wish Miche'le would have actually performed :(

I enjoyed myself ,seats on the floor felt like they were so close but I still had a nice time.

I enjoyed the performers however, the sound quality was poor. Oftentimes there was feedback from the microphones and Avant complained that he couldn't hear himself in his stage monitors.

This was a great concert. The only thing that should have been done different was the picture taking in between a lot of people missed half the next performer.

First let me say that Doug E Fresh opening up the venue was amazing! He is one of the hardest working men in the industry and he proved it with his set. He is one of the reasons I gave this event 3 stars. 112 had mic problems in the beginning, but by the time they got to their chart toppers, everything was fine. They brought me back to one of the happiest times in my life (when I first met my awesome wife)! Avant wasn't as good as I thought he would be. He was having mic and other issues and expressed his issues out loud to whoever was in charge of fixing those issues. He also didn't sing most of his songs. He would sing three words and then put the mic out to the crowd. Which would be fine, but I didn't pay to hear the crowd sing. Ginuwine did a great job! He sang some of his own stuff as well as he did a tribute to Michael Jackson. I really enjoyed his set! Kind of wished Missy or Timbaland would have come out, but that didn't affect my rating. A lot of people loved the Keith Sweat set, but I had issues with the whole thing. They turned up his music and mic way too loud, and it was hard to make out what song or lyrics he was singing. I know he sings a lot about love and such, but he did way too much talking to the women in the crowd. The crowd was eating it up, but I felt like it was forced, and the show would have been just as good without it. Overall the show was ok. I won't be going next year, unless they have some really great acts.

Excellent show!!! We loved it!!! Every song brought back memories and Keith Sweat is so funny!!! Avant was the best overall!!! I would buy his album again!! Hope they are back next year.

I was having an wonderful time until I realized that the sitting chart that I had picked my seats from wasn't the same chart that was in the building...and I had to be separated from my date and I wasn't happy at all! I didn't stay to see Keith Sweat perform because I was too upset being I was sitting alone..without my date.

We walked into the concert late...and the crowd was live!!! Doug E. Fresh was performing and during the entire concert, the crowd and the performers were hype. Loved it! Will again and again.

It was a very great show all the singers was great

Worst ever sound systems was horrible. Someone must have heard the same thing that we heard. I was embrassed that I invited friends to come along with me.

The concert was great the seats were phenominal. Keith Sweat is an excellent performer. He really knows how to involve his audience.

Doug E Fresh opened with the best opening I have ever seen at a concert. 112 had mic problems but they where still amazing. Avant blew my mind. Ginuwine is still the same old G. Keith Sweat topped the show of still performing like he is 20. I would pay to see them again. Good show even the DJ in between sets did outstanding.

Amazing....these artists can still move the crowd. Had soooo much fun!

I didn't enjoy this event because of the order they had each artist go in and it took an hour to park. Dru Hill performed first (which makes NO sense) and I missed their entire performance because it took an hour to park. BOO!! Then Jagged Edge only got 20 min to perform after Dru Hill. BOO!! Michel'le performed next and the crowd was unforgiving towards her. Monica made up for everything else and sang all the songs we love!! She did great. However, I wasn't even sure why Guy was the headliner until I realized Hampton, VA concerts cater to the older population. I'm 27 and didn't know any of their songs so I left after 2 songs. I learned my lesson about concerts at Hampton Colliseum. Be on time and look at the flyer more closely. I'll be back to see Chris Brown in April

This is my favorite event, I haven't missed a year yet. I live all the acts and the main event is Mr Keith Sweat himself...I'm a die hard fan and he does better he year...can't wait for the next show !!!!!

Missing peole, but the show was still awesome. Aaron Hall look real good for his age.

The show participants was great I just think that the music was louder than some of the Artist

The show started late, After 7 must've went over their time because Tank ran off the stage without bowing or thanking the fans. Brandy's sound was perfect, even though she got cut too. Keith Sweat did well. The lighting and speakers in the Hampton Colisuem was terrible. They need to do something about that. This is the third show where the lighting and sound was subpar.

My only complaint is I felt Tank, Brandy and Keith Sweat performances were rushed because of time constraints.

The show was solid but the artists didn t get to do their full sets so it wasn t nearly as good as it could ve been.

I absolutely loved it!!! Keith Sweat was awesome as always... TANK.. Ohh Chile... That's all I'm going to say on that... Do NOT bring your boo with you because once he takes that shirt off, it's a wrap!! After 7 are legends and still sound beautiful and Brandy was excellent and personable!! Great concert, I would go again!!

Great show. Started on time. Tank, after 7, Keith sweat was amazing. Brandy on other hand was a little disappointing by her performance. Overall great show.

We (my husband and I ) enjoyed the show! The DJ was great! He did a fabulous job keeping us on our feet!!!

After 7 was pretty good, disappointed they did not sing their latest hit. Tank set was bumping hard and live. Brandy should have followed After 7, she was alright and could really sing. She should add background dancers. Keith Sweat was great. Had a full set, back ground dancers and performed all the hits. The DJ was live and had the crowd jumping.........

The place was small. The artists acted as if they didn t even want to be there. Never again

It was decent. Tank could of done better. His exit was poor. Keith sweat exit was poor. Brandy performance was decent.

This event was mind blowing the venue was kinda hot but i enjoyed the concert performances by Monica and Guy wereTHE BEST.....amazingly enough Guy still got the moves voices still sound soul stirring and Teddy Riley is still fine lol i look forward to going again....oh yes the truly saved the best performance for last....GUYYYYYYYY!!!!

This concert was upsetting, the only good thing came from Monica and Cisco. Guy and Teddy Riley closed out the show and as soon as they came on people started getting up to leave. For one you couldn't hardly hear a thing they were saying because they were screaming into the mic.

THE SHOW WAS GREAT UNTIL MICHELE HAD A BREAK DOWN. AND THE AUDIENCE STARTED BOOING HER.

The show was great. I just wish they gave Dru Hill & Jagged Edge more than 20 minutes. When you have artists with a catalog as extensive as those two groups you can't give them 20 min a piece and expect ppl to be okay with that.

This was an amazing concert, however, as always the seating arrangement is HORRIBLE!!! NO ROOM TO MOVE; THE SEATS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. Dru Hill did an amazing performance as well as JE and Miss Thang did her thang. I Love Monica. The MC/Host comedian G2 was too vulgar and used too much profanity. I took my teenage daughter who loves Ol School music and he pretty much ruined the mood. I thought I would be safe with the music because the music had no profanity in it but this comedian said way to much profanity and said the N word way too many times. When Miche'le pointed that out to him the audience booed her!!!! Really??!! She was absolutely right in speaking on this. Oh, and Miche'le did a helluva job cause she's a Helluva Woman! Great Job Miche'le!!

Mi'chele was the worst part of the show. They could've picked a better artist.

Nice concert but Miche'le (I believe her name) should have been first. She was not up to par in fact got booed some. She was hard to hear. Everybody else was good. Guy, Jagged Edge Monica, Dru Hill in that order. Comedian was OK Spent too much time ragging on people in audience.

the aound in the building was horrible... and the people I really wanted to see didn't have much time to perform, and the lighting was terrible

Overall, I thought it was a good lineup. Monica by far was the best performer. Dru Hill and Jagged Edge did their thing. I did not like how Michel'le was done, but she knows you have to bring your "A". Now I'm a big Guy fan, but was disappointed that their sound quality was not on point. You could hear the music, but couldn't really hear them sing. The sound system did them no justice. The host was funny, but should reframe from using the "N" word so much.

3 of the 5 acts were worth seeing....Monica, Jagged Edge, and Dru Hill.....Guy was way over the top and Michel'le's performance made you feel sorry for her. She didn't look normal at all and her performance was the worst of all followed by Guy....

Overall the event had a good line up. I was happy to see that the turnout was good as well.

I'd go to one again, because of the drinks and entertainment. A little upset because my sister and I bought tickets to take a photo with genuwine and they told us to do this after the show. When the event was over they said they already did after his performance and that they announced it. Well we didn't here it plus why would we leave in the middle of the event to take pictures that made no sense.

This show was soon worth the money! The whole vibe was off the chain!!! It was supposed to start at 8, which means you can expect to get started around 9, but started at 8:15!!! By 8:45, Dougie Fresh was on the stage doing his thang! After that 112 came out (they aged poorly - sad to say), then Avant (who had to find a way to vent about never getting any kind of award), followed by Ginuwine, and finally Keith Sweat (who brought up a special guest... Coco from SWV)!!!!! The who show was crazy!!! We were parting at full blast (with few breaks) from 8:15 PM until well after 1:30 AM!!!

Dougie fresh i didnt care for , 112 i didnt care for the music was louder then their voices , Avant was great Genuwine was so so !!! Keith Sweat was awesome as always :)

Took my wife to the show because she loves herself some sweet. Show was really good live up that close. She and I had a good time. If he comes back again with more people I will try to check him out again. The floor seats were fine just a little to close together for me. The guy in front of me was being a asshole and upset the people next to me. So they left just as Keith was starting his set. I guess he was drunk and just got out of jail and saw his but buddy from the joint.

That was one of the greatest concerts I have ever been to. I loved every second of it. I don't believe I ever sat down. The best part was meeting Ginuwine. I can't wait to see who will be here next year!!!!!!!

Doug E Fresh truly the best entertainer to come along. It was a great show from beginning to end. 112, Avant and Ginuwine -- all outstanding.

My sisters and I attened the show and had a great time. The seats were good and the music was all we expected and more

We had a wonderful time. Dancing felt like the 90's all over again. AVant need more time . But everyone was outstanding. Love the 112. Everyone sung all my favorite songs. DOUG was amazing those pipes. OMG

The concert was really good. The performers could have stayed on stage a little while longer.

This concert was truly amazing for me. Doug E. Fresh kept the crowd moving... 112, Avant, and Ginuwine did a wonderful job but that doggone Keith Sweat gave you your money's worth. He sounded just like the record and interacted with the crowd. I loved it!!!!

This concert was great!. The seats were great! The music/vocals were clear. My sorority sister and I definitely enjoyed ourselves. The best part of the concert was Keith Sweat.

The sound system was horrible. I went to Chris Brown concert the night before and his sound was impeccable. The sound engineers that worked Chris Brown concert needed to work the Spring Jam. I think that the sponsor or the Coliseum chose the cheapest way out regarding the sound system that night.

Everything was great I loved 112 and Keith Sweat. I haven't had this much fun in years. Definitely on the to do list for many years to come. Hopefully I can figure out how to get VIP without the radio station.

The concert was amazing. We had great seats and truly enjoyed ourselves.

Really enjoyed the show!!! View was great! Really enjoyed Dru Hill, SWV, and Keith Sweat!! Slick Rick and Guy represented well.

With the execption of Keith Sweat (who had a full band and background singers), all of the other acts used tracks to perform. I can understand Slick Rick using a D.J....he is a rapper. But the other R&B acts (Guy, SWV, Dru Hill) performing to a record was just unacceptable to me. If it wasnt for the outstanding performance by Keith Sweat and band, I would have given this show ZERO stars.

The show was great, although some group members were not in attendance without explanation, they made up for it by interacting with the audience and taking pictures, that was awesome!!!

Sound quality sucked. Alot of feed back was coming from the speakers.

I Loooooved every performance. That concert took me back to my youth. I was so in the 90's oh my such a good concert. I can't wait for next years Hampton Spring Jam.

The concert was great! I enjoyed listening to songs I hadn't heard in forever. The only disappointment was Guy. They just aren't the same without all of the members of their group.

Went with my mother and we both had too much fun. The event started on time and we danced from start to finish. All acts were fantastic. No complaints.

I thoroughly enjoy spring jam music festival. It was my first time attending spring jam music festival and I'm sure I will be attending again next year. The vendors were overbearing and the staff was very helpful.
