I've listened to Suicidal since the 80's. I kinda forgot about them years ago but when they announced they would play my town I wanted to give it a shot. I wasn't expecting much - Mike Muir must be old and fat and all outta angst - but man did they deliver! The opening You Can't Bring Me Down was a little less powerful as I had expected, but they picked up fast and the rest of the show was just awesome. Clap Like Ozzy, I Saw Your Mommy, Institutionalized, How Will I Laugh... and on and on. Mike was on fire showing no sign of getting old. I particularly enjoyed his speeches in between the songs. Also the opening acts Havok and Crowbar absolutely killed it. Killer show and easily worth my time and money!

Unfortunately I got to the show a little late but just in time to see the last 2 songs by Havok. For what I saw I was impressed. Crowbar had a great (as they say) Sludgey feel. Deep riffs that reminded me of a mix of AIC and Pantera, but the sound man had the vocals way too loud . I had to move back from about 10 rows deep to behind the soundboard just to give them a fair listen. Would definitely see them again. Now onto ST! The boys opened up the show with my own personal favorite " You Can't Bring Me Down" and just slayed it. Mike Muir hit the stage like a man possessed shaking and head banging like a man with the worst case of turettes you'd ever seen and keep that pace through out the whole show. The set list was a collection of greatest hits like Institution & Trip to the Brain. The only down fall was they didn''t showcase much of the new material from the latest album " World Gone Mad".

Suicidal put on another amazing show with a great setlist including old and new songs. The crowd was very into the band and sang along with every song. The stage presence was incredible, Mike Muir never slowed down running all over the stage. I have seen ST many times and they never cease to amaze me at the energy they put into every show.

I'm probably a zillion light years away from being anything even remotely close to a juggalo, but Hed pe did okay as an opening act. A good chunk of the crowd seemed to enjoy them, and there was just the one opening act. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the current trend to line up three or four fluffer bands. I get it, the headlining act it special. How about if we go back to the old standby of having just one opening band then getting on with it? ST did an excellent job--old standbys ripped away. If you like the band, then you left satisfied. Muir does like to chat between songs, though. Maybe he should do some spoken word. Firestone is a pretty good place to see a show, as it's nearly impossible to be too far away from the band. The sound system lacks a bit, though. I'd give them an A+ for intimacy and maybe a B-/C+ for sound quality. House of Blues is a bigger venue, but the sound is much, much cleaner. Also, it took them forever to get people into the venue. We had our tickets in hand and still waited at least 45 minutes in line. If we can put a man on the moon and transmit concert reviews via electronic atoms, then surely we can quickly and efficiently get people into a show.

Never been to this venue before, and was impressed. It's big. Really big. Clean bathrooms, too. Yeah, who ever mentions the bathrooms, but I can't remember ones this clean at a punk show before. Bathroom attendants? Hey, sometimes it's the little things. The bands? Oh yeah, kicked ass. Cro-Mags were awesome. ST was awesome, too. If anything, I wish the setlist was a bit longer. I also wish that Muir did a little less rambling/drinking/rinsing/spitting between songs. That kind of allowed the energy to die down between numbers. NOFX seems to do a better job of mixing the banter with the show itself. By the way, not my first time seeing ST. Saw them a few times in the early '90s. We also saw them a few days earlier in Orlando--how's that for dedication? They still have it, and the band itself is amazing. Eric Moore and Steve Brunner are very worthy additions to the band. I just wish the show flowed more from song to song.

This was probably my 9th or 10th time seeing Suicidal live, and it was great. Even though all the members have changed except Mike Muir (lead vocal), they are still so much fun to see live. If they were playing again next week, I would absolutely go again!!!

Having listened to Suicidal Tendencies in the early and mid 90s of my teen years, I had never seen them perform live. The crowd was a mix of old and young, with a surprising amount of tough, but attractive rocker girls, and tatooed males in attendance. Looks like New York still has some edge! I wasn't sure what to expect in 2010, but Suicidal came onstage with full force, wearing their sporty, suicidal garb, infectious energy, physical presence and rebel charisma that made them forces to be reckoned with over 20 years ago. They opened the set with 2 of my favorite ST songs, "You Can't Bring me Down" followed by the classic "Institutionalized". Lead singer Mike Muir ran back and forth across the stage singing his infamous anthem that thousands of disaffected youth had surely blasted alone in their bedrooms. Now in contrast, there was an amazing synergy between being able to sing the anthem along with thousands of people trying to keep up with the energy onstage. The mosh pit was in full affect, with lots of traditional hardcore dancing and also the same ethics of helping those who had fallen down, both elements that are missing in many modern mosh pits... this was old skool! Speaking of old school, Mike Muir took some time to speak to the crowd, preaching about the strength and benefits of going against the mainstream, and also reminding the crowd of the early skateboarders in the late 70s who first began skating in swimming pools, and later evolved into the infamous Dogtown skate posse. This is the scene, time, and mentality that Suicidal Tendencies was spawned from as witnedsed in the seque to the next song "Possessed to Skate". The end of the show many of the audience were allowed onstage in a mass sing along that in traditional hardcore show fashion, eliminated the wall between band and audience. The Suicidal Tendencies family was back, they were rocking, and in a cathartic angst release type of way, I'm happy to have been part of the reunion!

Plain and simple, cro-mags and suicidal played like it was 1983. they brought the show and were both really solid. it was a reunion of all the old schoolers between the band and the crowd. truly for the hardcore for life.

Cro-Mags and Suicidal played awesome sets. The sound on the main floor was not so great, but the middle balcony was much better. I think both Cro-Mags and Suicidal needed more Amps as the Guitars were pretty low in the mix. The place was packed and was an awesome venue, hung over for work the next day,

with a band like Suicidal, you cant skimp on anything production wise. well they did. their FOH guy was horrible! you know its bad when the local opener sounds better than you, a band thats been around for over 20 years. come on Suicidal, fork out a couple bucks to have a real sound guy on tour with you. maybe there would be more than 800 people at your shows....

I have waited 25 years to see Suicidal Tendencies. They did not let me down. My only regret was not trying harder to see them before now. All the bands that played were great but Suicidal was what I waited for. The playlist was exactly as I had hoped mostly old stuff with a couple of songs after 1991. Pops Nightclub was great, plenty of room and the sound was spot on. I will be back again for other shows and I will most def be back to see ST.

Well tickets said show started at 5, they didn't even open the doors until 6:30 and it was cold, so that sucked! Then there was not 1, not 2, not 3, but 6 opening bands!! which is cool but would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Seemed like forever before Suicidal finally came on. Wished Suicidal would have played longer instead of so many opening bands. But overall the show rocked!! Had a blast!!

The picture of ST provided here cracks me up because Rocky and Robert are no longer with ST. However, the band does have Eric Moore and Steve Brunner and Deano holds his own on lead guitar juST fine. Eric Moore is worth the price of admission all by his (formidable) lonesome. The band rips as well as it ever has, and the set list was a crowd-pleaser. 1 1/2 hours of pure energy! BTW, a band called Sprung Monkey opened for ST, and they were very good. I'd check them out again if I get the chance.

Mike Muir and ST rocked the house! The set list included a lot of the old hits, which the whole crowd sang along to. Mike had tons of energy, jumping around like a spring chicken, though at times his mic was too quiet. The band was great- it looked like they were having as much fun as us in the audience. It was super loud at the Fox Theater in Pomona- lucky I brought my Hearos musician earplugs. Also, there's only one bathroom at this venue, and it's all the way upstairs- kind of a bummer.

If you are a fan of this band then I don't have to bother to recommend the show. If you weren't aware of them them back in the day, you may not get it now. The sound system was HORRIBLE, half way through their song "Institutionalized" i figured out they were playing that song! I looked over at my friends realizing they didnt even know the song was being played. I confirmed with them after, they thought the band never played that song! Couldn't hear sh*t, it was tooo distorted. They didnt sound anything like their recorded music and we old skool punk peeps so we are not afraid of the hard fast stuff. VEry dissappointed, I feel like we didnt get our "Suicidal Tendencies" fix we were looking forward to, we were very let down, and will not go to their concerts again. So i guess we stick with iTunes for Suicidal T. Not sure why they didnt use the venue's sound system? they had their own that sucked! p.s. DRUMMER WAS AMAZING

Mike Muir doesn't seem too active in the show, and limits/saves his voice for the songs, other than that, he was pretty quiet during the show, leaving the yelling and cheering to the other band members. I had never seen them before, so, don't know if it's always been like that or not. Overall, it was an excellent show. They played a lot (if not) all of their classics. Awesome show!!!

More people in the venue came to see Sick of it All apparently, as the crowd was smaller when ST went on. I've been listening to ST since 1983, but never got around to seeing them. Their performance was slightly disappointing, I am glad I got to see them though. They came out swingin hard with Bring me Down and then Institutionalized, songs I thought they would end with. I loved Sublimanlly, one of my favorites. They did Possessed to Skate, I saw your Mommy, Church, and some new stuff I guess - it was hard to tell as the sound was not good, loud and distorted. The energy level of everyone in the band was great, I read other reviews that said otherwise but they were really pumped last night, as was the crowd. Mike did like to hang on the side sometimes, and I would have actually liked to hear all the things he was saying between songs, except for the sound sucked! His mic needed turned up, you couldnt hear him over the distortion. ST has good musicians, and a good sound, but you wouldnt know it. Apparently the sounds guys treated them like every other scream bands, but ST should be better than that. Please get new sound guys and come back.

Have been dying to see Suicidal Tendencies for years and this was a great chance to see them with two other bands I have wanted to see. DRI and Sick Of It All. Opening band Wake The Dead were good but they really just want to be Suicidal Tendencies. They sound like them dress like them but do not have the songs to back it up. DRI were pretty good but the night belonged to Sick Of It All these guys took the stage and never let up. This was great chance to see them on a larger stage with great sound and lighting. If you get a chance, see this N.Y.H.C. band. Now on to Suicidal Tendencies. After a terrible sounding opening song (not the bands fault) they did get rolling with a greatest hits list of songs. The sound and the band was great. The problem was with the lead singer Mike Muir who could not shut up between songs killing any momentum the band and the crowd had. I like a little between song banter but he just went on and on. What is it with some lead singers, do they really think we came for a sermon. The Circle Jerks one of my favorite bands till I saw them live and they had the same problem. Hint we go to shows to hear music, if I want to be preached to I will watch the 700 club.

I came to see Suicidal but they were a disappointment. The sound man screwed up the first two songs, and by the time it was fixed (sort of), I lost interest. Suicidal Tendencies proved yet again in 2013 that they are (and always were) the real deal. Mike Muir and his multi-racial band of funk metal virtuossos played a blistering 2 hour set Friday night in Philly. It was incredible; a true joy to witness. The band articulately wove their fan-favorite early '80s punk classics into a modern setlist showcasing some of their newer progressive funk and metal, some of which crept into jazz fusion territory. They didn't thrust the new songs into the fans faces, knowing full well that everybody probably wanted to hear "Institutionalized" (they played it second). The assimilation of newer material was done with tact and they still played practically all of their beloved old school songs with a more sophisticated touch. This band has always carried excellent musicianship and personal integrity with high regard. Both were apparent in abundance on Friday night. Between some songs Mike Muir did not hesitate to share his heartfelt opinions through "punk rock pep talks". This has always been a staple of Suicidal shows. Mike is a true entertainer. He genuinely cares about his fans and this performance was the work of true masters of their craft. Opening act Sick of It All was charismatic and invigorating; a perfect East Coast HC spark-plug to compliment Venice CA's Suicidal. The crowd was amazingly diverse, spanning 3 generations of fans... a great display of unity and a fantastic musical performance from all.

Ive been a fan of suicidal since bout 87 when i first started skatin as a kid. If u skateboarded in the 80's then u def heard of Suicidal Tendencies! Mike Muir, the lead singer, has a brother who was one of the original Z boys from dogtown skates. Been listenin to them for over 20 years and finally got the opportunity to see them last week! And they did not disappoint! I have to give a shout out to the opening band Dead Cat Lounge. Great name and a really rockin local band from St. Petersburg, FL. Saw them open b4 and they really have talent! Hope they make it! Hed P.E. was the second band. Ive heard of them b4 but never really listened. They were pretty good. They have a DJ and play that rock and rap stuff that i hate so much but they werent that bad. U just have to be into that style of rock. Alota the kids were there just to see them and some of them left after that and didnt even stay for suicidal. Thats good tho cause it got me closer to the stage. I was right up front! And theres no stupid barrier at the venue so ur right up on the stage! And then Mike Muir and Suicidal took the stage. Mike Muir hasnt lost a beat. He still jumpin around the stage and constantly movin as if he was back in the day! He did all his funky dances that hes famous for. The set list rocked cause they played the old stuff like 'subliminal', 'i saw ur mommy' and of course 'institutionalized'. I was able to actually take a pic of the setlist just b4 they came out cause it was posted on the speaker right in front of me. They didnt play 'how will i laugh...' so i was disappointed since it my all time fav. 'Waking the dead' was on the set list but they didnt play it. The last song was 'pledge ur allegiance' and Mike let us get up on stage! He was singing on the drum riser and we were all on stage dancin and moshin! After the song he actually hung out and shook our hands and we got to take pics with him! It was the perfect ending to the show! Suicidal 4 Life!!

The venue was great! Clean, video screens everywhere, and it was general admission so anywhere you went there wasn't a bad place to watch the show. Security was cool because although they were present, they were not obtrusive so you didn't realize they were there unless you looked for them. Bathrooms were clean, the bars were easy to get a drink from. $4 beer isn't too bad, $3 beer even better but it was pretty cool. The sound was great, since it had a vaulted ceiling it wasn't blaring ear splitting loud, but a good volume as you would expect a concert, especially from a band like Suicidal. You didn't notice the staff sweeping up litter, they blended in well and so it maintained the good general appearance of the place. The venue was big but wasn't so big that it wasn't an intimate experience, but it wasn't so small that it got real hot and uncomfortable. I would rather go to the Palladium than a bigger venue for shows because they are more personal. What can I say? Suicidal totally rocked, not much to say but that they played a lot of iconic songs and their bassist was probably the best I have ever seen, the whole band was super tight and on the dime and the drummer did a solo that was wicked as he twirled his sticks the whole time and it was a mean drum pounding. Mike Muir was freestyling in between songs and it was great. A lot of people think he's very "preachy" but those true fans know he's a very emotional and fan-loving guy and presents you with a true mission statement of what Suicidal Tendencies is all about. He had his bandana covering up a long hair mohawk and he was in great shape so he was running around like a mad man! One of the best shows you can get for $25!! I am Suicidal 4 Life!!!!!

The concert was mind blowing, the band was in top shape, the crowd was wild and the setlist was great! The only issue was the sound quality in the Sodo Showbox, it wasn't too good in the opening acts, I thought it was going to improve for the headliners, but it remained kinda bad... Other than that, was a GREAT concert!

Amazing! For the first time ever I got my hundred pound, little body out in the pit and had the time of my life! Someone grabbed my new suicidal hat off my head, but it was worth it!

The best Suicidal show I have ever seen. The current line-up is the best since the Mike Clark and Rocky George days. But Lombardo on drums adds an element that is just...different. Jeff Pogan and Ra Diaz are amazing players as well. Dean did his thing...shred...Mike put together a hell of a line-up. Anyone who hasn't heard it, pick up the World Gone Mad record. You will not be sorry!!!

Three bands on this tour, Havok, Crowbar and Suicidal Tendencies. I wasn't very familiar with Havok, but they were very good and played about 40 minutes. good sound mix, good songs and great stage presence. Crowbar, who I'm very familiar with played around 45/50 minutes and although I like some of their stuff, they just didn't seem like they were into it, maybe they just had an "off night", I've seen them before and they were really good. Then you have the Suicidal Army! This band is always a blast to see live, full of energy, crowd participation and a great set list, you also get the pleasure of seeing/hearing Dave Lombardo on drums for them, which made it even better! Great show that I'd definitely see again if the opportunity presents itself. World Gone Mad 2017!

If you know ST, you would expect that it wouldn't be a standard thrash show. Muir and company rocked and made it fun, too. Great showmen and a great show. Havok rocked, too.

The last time I saw ST was almost 25 years ago, so I went in with limited expectations... I mean everyone slows down a bit right? Wrong! The set rocked! I'm almost 42 years old and I still jumped in the pit on two occasions during the night! High energy, great sound, and a audience involvement that rivaled any arena type show! Still part of the ST Army and loving it!!!
