This is the 4th Howard Jones show I've attended and all I can say is that, he still has it after all these years.. The band was tight and they put on a great show.. Go See Him!!!

What a great night - wish all the bands could have played longer, but then the concert would have to have been 10 hours. Katrina still has it. Paul Young puts on a great show. The English Beat are always just amazing and full of energy. Modern English (who we've not seen live before) blew us away - definitely want to see them again. Men Without Hats are a personal favorite group - they never disappoint. And Howard Jones definitely owned the "headliner" spot.

Oh my -where do I start! This event was fantastic... Superb! Excellent! Phenomenal! What a good quality performance. He is truly an artist. Howard Jones is such a simple, humble, amazing artist. SOOO TALENTED. His band is very very good as well. The Venue was such a good choice. Great videos in the background. What a fabulous way to spend a Friday!

Bathed in the atmospheric synthesized sounds of the 80's, Howard Jones is in top form as he soars through his first two albums (Humans Lib and Dream into Action), cover to cover. His voice sounds amazing and he still hits all the notes. If HJ stops by your town, see this tour while you can - this tour is for anyone who loves synth-pop, and of course, Howard Jones. Like traveling through time to 1985-87, in all the most brilliant ways.

Really good show! The Music Box has a great sound system and great bar. His set included every song from his first two albums, certainly his best. The entire set with intermission was just under three hours. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Jed was there!

I had been looking forward to Howard Jones for a long time. The last 2 acts I saw at this venue were OMD and Paul Simon - so maybe my expectations were too high. Howard looked bored, and his music was lifeless. He talked (mumbled) way too much, and tried humor with little success. The attendance was only about 600 - and the balcony was roped off. There was no opening act, and there was an intermission that was too long. I'm glad I saw him once, but I have no desire to see him again. BTW - the following night I saw Gloria Gaynor, Evelyn Champaign King, Thelma Houston, and Anita Ward at a local casino - and they rocked the house 100 times more than Howard Jones.

It was so great to see him live in concert. I am convinced that he and the other "band members" were just holograms behind their laptops on stage. I only wish I had been old enough to see him when he was big in the 80's. He played for over two hours and did like 30 songs. Great value for the money! I would have listened to him play all his albums live.

The Montalvo venue was beautiful. The Garden Theater was everybit a kiss of nature. Beautiful trees and manicured grounds the theater almost has to be discoved as you find your way through the center. The unique venue paired with a Howard Jones electric show was fabulous to say the least. At first thoght you wouldn't expect either to go together but as Howard Jones is not just a master of synthesizer and composition he drives each song with meaningful lyrical content so feeling and emotional. That the natural enviornment of the venue paved the way for songs from Human's Lib and Dream Into Action two of Howard's finest albums. The songs sounded better than the album originals. And the quality of the sound was amazing you could notice a surround effect during the show. The show was creative, moving, funny and pure genius. Howard is so personal and loves to communicate between the songs, tell stories and crack jokes. He is a true entertainer. What a display of talent on that stage. All i can say is don't miss an opportunity to enjoy an evening with Howard Jones "Live" .

He started the show 15 minutes early. I'm glad we arrived early enough to catch his entire performance. He had a drummer playing Roland Electronic drums and the mix was fantastic. Another musician/technician on stage used a Mac laptop to synchronize the sequenced tracks that Howard played along with. I did miss hearing some of his familiar hits from his first two albums, but all and all it was a very good sounding and entertaining show.

Howard Jones was my absolute favorite in high school and all of my friends knew it. My first Howard Jones concert was 25+ years ago and I loved it! This concert was even better because the venue was small and the crowd was hysterical. There is something about an artist interacting with the crowd that really draws me in. Howard was funny and engaging. He hasn't aged a bit. Every so often, I would look at my husband and laugh because I felt like I was 18 again! Thanks for bringing me back to hig school, Howard!

In the Eightie's there were Duran Duran fans and Howard Jones fans. If you loved Duran Duran, you might like Howard Jones but you weren't an avid fan and vice versa. I was Duranie and still follow them but I tend to stay away from those 80's rewind tours because I like seeing bands that are still making great music and have tried to stay current. I attended the Howard Jones show on July 10 with my friend, who is still one of his biggest fans. I admit, I mostly went for her, not sure how I felt about a night of hearing Howard re-hash his first two albums in their entirety but I am happy to say I had a fantastic time! After the first couple of songs, he gave a nod to Cupertino, saying technology had finally caught up enough to allow him to play all of his music live. He played for an impressive two hours, with "Everlasting Love" as the encore. His voice is still lovely and his smile was nearly as sparkly as the outfit he donned for the second half of the show. Thank you Howard, for a great night!

I was uncertain what to expect with this concert, not having spent the time to research it. Hey, it was Howard Jones, I knew I was going to enjoy it no matter what! But it turned out to be a concert based on his first two released albums (Human's Lib and Dream Into Action), played live. Seems to be a trend amongst many bands who have been around for a while. No complaints here, I loved the first two albums! Howard was center stage with two other musicians. Everything was programmed sequencers, electronic drum kits, and Apple MacBooks and iPads. While the equipment is all state of the art, the sound produced was a perfect match for the original songs. It's amazing how much sound was produced by the three guys. At first, Howard seemed rather cool towards the audience, I got the impression that he was just going through the motions. But he did warm up after the first few songs, and by the end of the show, really had the audience on his side. They saved the higher-energy, familiar, danceable songs for the end of the show, and the venue allowed people to gather in front of the stage for the last couple of songs to dance. Good choice, and well received. All in all a good show. The only thing that made it slightly unenjoyable was that we were surrounded by people who were shouting conversations to each other over the music I was trying to listen to. Thankfully, when the more familiar songs were played, they all moved off to dance. I guess people don't mind spending big bucks to sit through a lot of music they don't know and don't like just to get to the one or two songs they remember from pop radio.

Howard Jones treated us to a great journey through his first two albums "Human Lib" and "Dreams into Action" at this intimate Montavlo event. His voice was terrific and his use of electronics driven by Apple computers was really cool. And for the entire evening it felt like we were back in 1984. Thank you Howard and keep it up!

Although the theater never filled, Howard Jones gave a great, energetic show to his fans. I was pleased with the acoustic set, although somewhat disappointed it was only four songs long. He definitely got the crowd energized over Human Lib era, and did an incredible cover of the Killer's Are We Human. I've always liked Howard Jones but wouldn't consider myself a "fan", but he really impressed me. It was a show worthy of a bigger crowd.

What a fun event for all involved. All of the artists were genuinely happy to be there performing. We are all getting older, but there was a lot of energy on stage and in the crowd. All six acts sounded great. I wish several of the acts had at least one more song. I recognized the house guitartist for the first couple bands from Daryls House. Each of the artists genuinely seemed excited to be there to share their biggest hits. The downtime between acts was minimal, as the stage was pre-set for each band to jump right in and start their set. I barely had time to hit the restroom between Modern English and Men Without Hats. Also was pleased with the Ticketmaster ticket resale option.

I was thrilled to see Howard Jones in such a small venue. I paid $100/ticket for VIP tickets. The sound was terrible. I could hear the drummers stick hit the plastic drums, Howard sounded like he was in a tunnel and the bass overwhelmed all the other sound. I saw Howard Jones twice before and his sound was impeccable. I don't know what went wrong, but it needs to be addressed. I enjoyed this show, but it could have been far better.

The light show for the event was lame. The sound however was quite nice. He does play all of the hits and seemed energetic doing so. The biggest negative to me was that it felt like he was lip syncing and I found it to be a distraction.. The facilities are not that bad with generous bartenders and what smelled like decent food (if you were hungry). The restrooms always had a line however, perhaps they need a few more portable potties.

Great show by Howard Jones who was in great vocal form and was pretty much like having a concert inside an Apple store. That's not a dig, I like electronic music with some soul and HoJo walked that fine line all night with MacBooks prominently displayed, even for the drummer! His album tracks were well played and only brought the crowd down a notch but, the hits and more hits got a huge response and he seemed genuine and friendly all night long. But, if I'm being honest Flock of Seagulls made the show memorable. I would take this down a star if not for them which made for a great double bill. Imagine The Cure opening for Thomas Dolby, it was sort of like that but, with equal set time it didn't matter and both artists were great to see. I'm just pointing this out for those who get the difference. CUBAN CLUB REVIEW - It was a cold night and surprisingly the Cuban Club is not much of a venue, it's a parking lot actually! Gigantic line for portable toilets needed at least twice as many and in two locations. The attendant though worked his butt off keeping them straight. Weather is so iffy in Tampa, heat, rain (and even cold) I will highly think about buying tickets for an event there. But, when it's pleasant it is a great spot. Two blocks from New World Brewery for a pre and post show drink at a great spot. So +1 there.

We were excited to finally get a chance to see/hear Howard Jones with Flock of Seagulls as the opening act at the prestigious Cuban Club. Surprise. It was in a vacant lot NEXT to the Cuban Club. Surprise. There was no seating - standing only on a brisk, breezy night without jackets. Surprise. The opening act was a local band. They announced a 30-minute break. We waited. Getting colder by the minute, we gave up and left very disappointed.

The venue was outdoors, on a rare cool night in Florida. Staff was disorganized and just looked at tickets, didn't scan them. (Someone could have reprinted the same tickets and walked in for free) Flock of Seagulls were better than I had anticipated! The crowd and I loved them and their energy. Four Star Riot, a local Florida band, did a great job at getting the crowd ready. Then there was the headliner...UGH!!!! What a disappointment!!! Howard Jones was lip syncing! We stayed for the first 2 songs before we began to leave the venue. Prior to leaving, we stood back, where we could see the crowd, from the side of the stage. We could also see Howard Jones "playing" the keyboards. I don't even think it was plugged in! Thankfully the tickets were only $20, which I would pay again to see Flock of Seagulls

Howard Jones is an amazing solo artist!! The king of Synth pop as far as I am concerned. I have seen Howard multiple times, mostly in smaller venue's which is an amazing treat, and almost a great secret. He is still full of energy, plays all his hits, loves his fans, and engages with the audience the entire show. He is humble, and shares great stories throughout his career. If you have never seen Howard and are a fan, please do yourself a favor and see him live, you will be amazed! He even has a new album, which is very creative. I was lucky enough to see a special "Engage" show last year that included two sets! His band is wonderful, and all of his music sounds amazing live, as he uses a lot of technology. Seeing him dance around with the key tar is priceless. Go see Howard!!!

Having enjoyed "Ho Jo" back in the day, I bought tickets for my husband and myself. We arrived at the Grove just has Howard Jones was setting up to play. We had a bit of time so we grabbed a couple of drinks and found our seats. Shortly after we sat down, Howard started. He immediately played a song from the 80's and the crowd went crazy. A few more 80's songs and then he added songs from his new project which were great, I really liked The Human Touch song. Howard closed the show, but came back out to do "Things Can Only Get Better" which was tweaked at the end with a bit of techno, loved it. I found this show to be the most mellow show I have ever been to. The music was great, there was no pushing to get to the front, no spilled drinks and everyone was there to have a good time and perhaps relive the 80's just for awhile.

This was a great performance, highly energetic, superb audience interaction, and quite inspiring. Everyone seemed happy to be there. Many of Howard's fans have been waiting a long time to see him perform some of these songs. Others may be unaware of the variety and quality of the non hits on the two albums. It seems that now he's done them enough times to feel comfortable performing them. The show also included a surprise, masterful, acoustic rendition of Everlasting Love.

I saw Howard Jones 3 times during the 80's/90's and it was great to see him again! I was a huge fan in the 80's and still am. It was a small theater this time and we were in the 7th row, which was awesome. He still sounds great and he was funny. The only problem was if you didn't know the songs, which my husband didn't know all of them, you couldn't understand the words. I think his mic should've been louder. And I wish he would've done all of his hits instead of only doing Human's Lib and Dream Into Action in their entirety. I would have liked to hear You Know I Love You...Don't You, Everlasting Love and Lift Me Up instead of some of the B sides that weren't hits. But I loved Bounce Right Back and Look Mama in concert. I gave the show a 4 instead of 5 because I would have liked to hear those other songs instead of some of the others and because it was hard to understand the words if you didn't know the songs, but I had a great time and would go again.

This was my third experience with Howard Jones live and in person \u2014 and, as in the prior two events, he was innovative, brilliant, funny, interactive ... and his voice hasn't changed a bit since the 1980s! He remains a master keyboardist and synth manipulator with an instantly recognizable voice \u2014 and he was humble and highly comedic to boot. A gentleman on the keys, and still wearing hot pants ... ;) On this tour, he performed his most popular albums, "Human's Lib" and "Dream Into Action," in their entirety. HoJo is a fantastic entertainer. If you get the chance to catch this performance, take it immediately.

It was so great to see HoJo again after all these years. Playing songs. All of us singing along. Brought me back to such great times where his music helped get me thru high school! Venue intumate but sounds were very muddy. Over bassed like a rap concert or something. Fixable if they cared to.

My better half & I decided to go to this show at the last minute...We being huge 80's fans figured it would be an okay show as most 80's acts are...But where we stunned...Howard and his band samples EVERY sound of the Humans Lib & Dream Into Action and performed them to EXACT perfection...Mr. Jones's vocals are still spot on and he is the consummate showman...He is a pleasure listen to...His self deprecating humor makes him quite the endearing performer...His show was a delight for the entire 3 hours he performed...If you have a chance to see him...DO IT!!!

I went to Howards opening night of his new tour. The audience loved it. He told great stories. He had the audience rolling with laughter. The piano and just him was a nice variation on the normal synth versions of his songs. If you are a howard jones fan, I can't recommend the show enough. Be aware that there is talking between songs. He is not just up there being a human jukebox, belting out hits.

My first (and not the last) show at the Paramount was amazing! Howard Jones even acknowledged WLIR, the station so many of us turned to in the 80's! Yes, he's older. We all are. But hearing him perform the songs I loved and some I faintly remembered was so much fun! And I respected him including a local opening act.

Howard is one of my favorite artists. I ve been a fan since the early 80 s. Every show I go to is better than the last. Howard s voice is amazing. He is full of energy, plays all his hits, loves his fans, and engages with the audience the entire show. He is humble, and shares great stories throughout his career. Love, love, love him! Can t wait to see him again.

I go to a lot of multi-artist shows but these tours have been among the best productions. There were no lengthy intermissions, as Katrina and Paul Young shared a band, but quick set changes were done for Modern English and the English Beat. Howard Jones was as reliable as ever. All in all, this is a case of "less is more". you knew almost every song, and I doubt anyone went home disappointed.

The show was fantastic! All the acts were amazing. The time each spent on stage was perfect and featured songs that we all know and love. I was really surprised by Katrina and the Waves. I had no idea Katrina could shred!! The energy was electric and kept the crowd on its feet for the majority of the show. Of course, Howard Jones as the featured act was the perfect ending to the show, and I could have listened to another 3 hours of his music!

With the amount of Talent on this bill I would expect that each band would get more than 3 songs each. Or at least rotate so that some can have 5 or 6 each night. Howard Jones gets 11 songs and everyone else gets 3???? That seems a bit ridiculous. I would not recommend this unless you like Howard Jones alot!

Flew to LA just to see the show with friends and it was worth it. What a fantastic show. I love to see bands that exude pure joy. It wasn't work or a job for him just fun and the audience felt it. Good for him and good for us!

I saw Howard Jones for the first time as a teenager when he opened for the Hooters (remember them?!?) 30 + years later, Howard is still around and they aren't - for good reason! He put on a fantastic show at the Howard Theater thanks, in part, to his loyal followers, but more to the staying power of his music. He played all of his hits (New Song, No One is to Blame, Like to Get to Know You Well, etc.), as well as some newer songs. His voice is as good as ever. And, he came out afterward to pose for pictures and give autographs. I was thrilled! Go see him on this tour if you can - it will be well worth it!

Howard Jones has aged well, and his voice has held up. Definitely still able to hit the high notes. Sounded very true to the albums, but you could tell it was live and not lip synched. Was accompanied by a drummer and another keyboardist/looper, both of whom were excellent. Enjoyed the stories about how the songs were written. All in all, a great evening. I had a blast revisiting the 80's.

Howard still has it. He sounds great! The Canyon Club was hot, the service was terrible, bathrooms gross, drinks overpriced, food mediocre and pricey! Website said that there would be dancing after but they shut down right after Howard at 11:30.

growing up in the 80's, howard jones was one of my ultimate favorite artists. there wasn't any way i was going to miss any of this year's tour. had to drive from VA to NY to see him and it was well worth every minute of it. Hojo sounds and looks great just like he did 25 years ago. It was such an awesome time to finally see him live and he puts on a great show!!

Three hours of Howard Jones and his band playing all of Human's Lib and Dream Into Action. Sound was great and so was the band. Don't expect to hear and songs not on those 2 albums, but still worth it. The merch table was VERY well stocked. Among the items were limited edition remaster sets that had bonus discs added just for the tour!. The crowd was fun (even with the girl that kept yelling-over and over-"Howard, we love you!" Dancing in the aisles and in front of the stage was encouraged, with Howard shaking many hands. Nice inter song banter with the audience helped to flesh out the show and make it a more personable experience. Check it out if you get the chance!

This was a pretty good show. I've seen him 3 times now. I do have to say that if you aren't a huge HJ fan, then you probably wouldn't/didn't like this show too much as he played all the songs from his first 2 albums rearranging the order and putting all the hits at the end of each set. That being said, when he got to the "not so popular songs" the crowd tended to talk a lot and even almost overpower the music. The venue was nicer than I expected. I hadn't been there since they re-designed it. There are 3 bars upstairs and 2 of them are at the sides of the theater, so if you need to get up and get a drink, they're not too far and you don't miss any of the show. For our show, we had seats, but not every show has seating on the floor. I guess if you were going to see Flogging Molly they would get in the way.

Amazing show at the Paramount theatre. Howard Jones was as good as he was when I saw him back in the 80's. Still full of energy and the songs definitely stand the test of time. Everyone knew the words and sang along, as if the songs had just been released yesterday. The venue was intimate and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Fun, fun, fun. I felt like I was in my twenties again. If you get the opportunity, you must see HoJo live and in concert. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Mr. Jones for that wonderful trip down memory lane!

Howard Jones has a style that doesn't necessarily reach a broad audience. He doesn't have the most polished public persona, either. Add 25-30 years of rust, a set list that includes several very cerebral songs designed to be album filler, and you've got a challenging live concert experience. Those few better known songs that had familiar pop chops were fun to hear and bounce around to, but on the whole, the concert left us wanting for a broader, more popular group of songs.

After all these years, he still sounds AMAZING. His voice is just like it was back in the 80's. Everyone down in the front had a great time. Even the bouncers were encouraging people to get up out of their seats and jump around, holding hands with the other fans, even reaching their hands up to shake hands with Howard. Howard mentioned that they went through the trouble of getting the original multi track tapes from the recordings so they could find all the original synthesizer patches to play live that night. Everything sounded just like the album, yet better - more fidelity and presence. I never had heard the song Assault and Battery from the second album (my sister was more of a fan than i was so i didn't have the album). After hearing it that night, i don't understand why that song wasn't popular on the radio back then??!!

The concert was produced well, sound quality was awsome as well as the lighting schemes. Howard Jones was in great form and put on a spectacular show. I was suprised how long he played and the crowd really seemed amped up by his energy. There was alot of fan participation and it truly made the concert fun. I have been in this building when it was the IMAC and let me tell you, the overhaul of this venue is amazing!

After all these years, Howard Jones is still in great form. He's never stopped making music since his 80's heyday, but this night was all about 2 of his classic albums. The music was dead perfect to the record. Not such an amazing feat, seeing as how it is all sequenced and synthesized. What was really impressive was Howard Jones' vocals. Amazing. He hit every note with accuracy. Perfect. It can be hit and miss when going to see an "80s" act. After all, we age, and our bodies and voices are no longer in their prime. Very few artists hold onto the voices they once had. Howard Jones is one of the exceptions. If your a fan, I highly recommend going out to see him. It was a very enjoyable evening.

What an absolute pleasure! He played his first two albums brilliantly. He conversed with the audience and connected. The only downside-all the folks in the balcony weren't dancing-so we, in the front row, didn't want to stand up and block their view. Side mezzanine next time!

Howard Jones was a pioneer of synth new wave music in the 80's producing some of the most contagious, beautiful and poignant tunes ever written. It was wonderful to re-live the theme music of my youth and the fact that he executed each song as it was written was perfect! He is a genius and the show was wonderful!
