The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses was absolutely amazing. I didn't know what to expect with game footage on a screen with the symphony and choir under it, but it was completely immersing. The music was so beautifully done, and the original pieces so eloquently composed that I forgot where I was and just escaped into the music. Once the piece was over did I come back to the present and was reminded of the beauty still around me. I will never forget this performance, it was exceptionally better than I could have ever dared dream. The venue was also immaculate and the atmosphere was wonderful, it felt so homely being around people who absolutely adored Zelda like I do. I could and would see this show multiple times and never grow tired.

So disappointed. Being familiar with such orchestras as eminescense, this tour was lacking a connectedness to the music. Emotion was lacking and the conductor, while he definitely connected with the audience, failed to draw more from his musicians. There were many occasions when the musicians were not together (I.e. Percussion was ahead of everyone). The balance of sound was not conducive to highlighting the various melodic lines of the orchestration (generally hearing percussion above EVERYTHING, even when it was not their moment to be highlighted). There were a few solid moments where the musicians began to give way to expression and really drew the audience in, but unfortunately I was more distracted by the lack of unity in creating a piece of work. On another note, the choir was horrible and it felt as if they had just received the music and was sight reading. Note to whoever was operating the camera: when yo have musicians or singers struggling in a concert, it's probably not a good idea to zoom in on that section... it is written all over their faces they had no clue what they were doing. While the music has a choir part... it would have been better to have that part lacking. This was supposed to be a professional concert that people paid good ticket prices for, and it felt like a semi-professional (or less).

I don't have a single bad thing to say about The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. I was impressed from the beginning all the way until the end. Completely unique and thrilling performance. Even after THREE ENCORES I didn't want it to end.

A fantastic presentation. They performed a wide variety of different songs from some of the more obscure games to many of the more popular ones. If you like symphonies, this is great. If you love zelda, this is for you. If you like both? Then you'll probably be as overjoyed as I was during the presentation.

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses was a true reflection of the past 25 years of the video game series. The strong attention to detail, variety of arrangements, and the overall mixture of audio and visual enhancements make it an event to remember. The four movement symphony takes you from the very beginning through the present and takes a look at the future of Zelda. The music is amazing and has truly transformed over the past 25 years and leaves the participant in this event with a yearning for more and a hope for all that is to come with the series. The music is timeless and truly is an amazing experience and one to remember for any Zelda Fan!

It's incredible that you can engage children in a 4 movement symphony by simply flashing screen captures of their favorite video games. Aside from a well timed multimedia presentation, the music was wonderful and inspiring. This symphony also prides itself on using local musicians. They were very good and played the music flawlessly. Overall, excellent event.

Symphony of the Goddesses was like lucid dreaming. The surprises at the end made the event even more magnificent. i can only hope to be able to see it again. The only way this could've been better was it if had been at a different venue, I don't think the theatre in MSG did the orchestra justice.

For a first-time concert experience, this was pretty unbelievable. I went in not knowing what to expect and got my socks knocked off, this was absolutely the best tribute to a video game series that I could have ever imagined. My thanks and congratulations to the director, conductor, and all of the musicians that did very great work on this outstanding performance! I sure hope they made a DVD of this so I can get that too!

I've been a Zelda fan since before I could read, and this symphony took me back to the days when everything was magical... The visuals that go with the music add so much to the experience, going through the story of the game they're playing music from. I actually had tears in my eyes for most of the Ocarina of Time movement; I felt as immersed in Hyrule as I did when I first played the game at 9 years old. The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses was the perfect way to celebrate 25 years of Link's adventures. It felt like the capstone of my childhood, to be perfectly honest. I'm 23 now, and the real world looms, but for a few hours last Thursday night, everything was magical and moving again. If you're a Zelda fan and the Symphony is coming to a city near you, please do yourself justice and get to it. Missing a chance to see this would be a terrible mistake.

The symphony orchestra and choir of local Chicago musicians performed music from The Legend of Zelda game history to wild cheers and applause from the gaming fanatics who sold out the show. Material included an opening overture, selections from specific games (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, etc.), and a four movement symphony. The music and accompanying images and videos on a large screen behind and above the orchestra brought "chills" to many who recalled great memories from playing the Legend-ary game. Three encores excited the enthusiastic crowd, many dressed for the occasion, or maybe just for Halloween, to run home and rediscover and replay those classic games.

Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses was an entertaining and beautifully put together four movement symphony. It truly captured what has been in Zelda fans hearts since the game came out 25 years ago. I would definitely pay to see it again.

This concert was amazing. The music was divided up onto four movements. Each movement was dedicated to one particular Zelda game. While playing through the music, the screen behind the symphony would play through the game from beginning to end so you could see the whole story of each game.

I really enjoyed going to the Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses event! The musicians were outstanding and viewing the gameplay onscreen during the performance was great. I tip my hat off to the conductor who had to ensure that the music was synchronized with video. It was nice talking to the other Zelda fans and seeing cosplayers in attendance. I would do this all over again. My only gripe is that the finale felt very weak, especially compared to movement before it.

The orchestra was great. The chorus was pretty bad, but that's likely because they don't tour with the orchestra. The worst aspect was the venue. The seats were not built for taller or heavier people. The seating made the concert far less enjoyable.

It pulls visuals and soundtracks from some of the earliest Zelda games all the way up to Breath of the Wild. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. The compositions weren't as complex as Beethoven or Mozart, but hearing music from my one of my favorite gaming franchises was still an amazing experience. You can really feel the rumble of the timpani, the gentle timbre of the harps, and the warm tone of the brass and woodwinds. The strings were on point as well. They made the orchestra sound full. I was luck to have a very good seat close to the stage, although the sound travels well around the theater.

The orchestra was perfect. Their playing was beautiful and the conductor was really great. I loved his enthusiasm and clear love for the music. It was a good night, and if you like the music from the Legend of Zelda series it's worth the money to go see. However, there were some problems with production. Particularly highlighted by the producer straight up saying he didn't want to come to fresno. Adding that "he did it for the fans" doesn't really help. Of course you did it for the fans, we paid you to. I'm not saying that Fresno isn't a shit city, I'm saying that you probably shouldn't say that during our concert. The merchandise table was small, and they ran out of a major piece (the windwaker baton) before I got there, and I got there an hour early. They didn't even have enough of the product for people to buy, and I have no doubt they ran out of other things before the night ended too. The symphony clearly hasn't been updated since it's original run either. The songs themselves are perfect, the issue is with the video display that's running during the concert. It's weird to see release dates for Windwaker and Majora HD. It would've been nice to see some references to the upcoming Breath of the Wild but there was none. Still, just because the producers didn't care doesn't mean the orchestra didn't. There was so much love for the music, the performers were amazing. Each set was flawless and again the conductor had so much enthusiasm it was impossible not to smile when he faced the audience. I would love to go to more of his symphonies in particular. When someone's that happy about their music you know it's going to be great.

The symphony was outstanding from start to finish. I had chills and goosebumps and my arm hair was standing on end from The first note to the last. The visuals were great. I felt like I was watching a LoZ movie, because a lot of what happened in the visuals went perfectly with the music. The conductor had an amazing personality (though she didn't talk), her body language/expressions and how she interacted with the members of the symphony made me smile the whole time.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the symphony. No troubles getting to my seat. It was well worth the ticket price to witness a once-in-a-lifetime event from Nintendo. The lead violinist was spot on for her performance. I enjoyed the solos from the piccolo and the flute as well. Well done, well done. The harpists and percussion were amazing, as well. Very good at keeping time. I want to thank all the rest of the symphony, including the vocals, for a wonderful performance as well. My hats off to the trombonists for there great performance, What a blessing to hear them.

When music meets nostalgia meets overwhelming experience. I would recomend this to ANY Zelda fan! My brother and I drove 6 hours to attend - and to find they'll be in our city later this year! Which, we plan to attend as well. It is such an experience that brings this game to life even more. From seeing it on the marquee upon arrival, to the gameplay video during each song, it was amazing. Only downfall was that despite us arriving early, they ran out of programs being sold. I understand running out at intermission or something, but to run out early before the show was unfortunate. We did get t-shirts and the song book though. I guess we'll have to get one at the next show!

I came all the way from Argentina to watch and listen this orchestra. The music is taken from a lot of Zelda games (from A link ot the Past until Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds). Every arrangement is great reminescent of the original song. While the orchestra plays each song, a video of the corresponding game is shown on the screen, making all those good memories from playing all these great Zelda games come back, all while hearing the best possible live version of the songs we used to listen constantly while playing. The concert is very long, I don't know exactly how long it went but it was probably over 2 hours. My mother also came with me (since we traveled all the way to the US to also visit other places she was not going to just stay on the hotel for no reason) and she loved the music, regardless of having almost never heard those songs. Anyone that likes Zelda should go, I'm not into going to concerts either (this was actually my first time), but even if you are someone like me, you should totally give it a shot, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This was one concert I'll never forget. The performance was great. The audience didn't shout over the music. As a Zelda fan, it exceeded all of my expectations. If I had to give it any gripe at all, I'd say the main theme gets old after a few hours. They could have put in other themes from other games. But hey its the one in every game and the one everyone knows. Go see it! Your next chance may be in 5 years for their 30th Anniversary Symphony.

I took my sister for her 16th birthday, and it was so beautiful. We were both in agreement that we could never play the video games the same again. Each time we play, we pause to listen to the music that was so superbly performed by the talented musicians. The ladies who played the harp were fantastic, as well as the drum players that really amplified the already well composed music. There was also a choir, which was especially beautiful as they sang to the main theme of Twilight Princess. Watching scenes from the games were an added bonus!

This event is definitely a must-see for those who are passionate about the Legend of Zelda series. This was my third time seeing the Symphony of the Goddesses, and this being the Second Quest still gave me that 1st time feeling. Its a great feeling being surrounded by people who share the same passion, and seeing those that come in costume. Another aspect I benefit from going to these shows is bringing my Nintendo 3DS with me. You would be surprised how many people bring their 3DS to go through Streepass. If you are another person looking to finish panel pieces, and gather Miis for games, the Zelda Symphony is the place to be.

I attended last years symphony concert as well (2012). This year's timing was way better. A month earlier, away from the holidays. The staff and distribution of the goods (posters and shirts) were well put-together and coordinated efficiently. The people there were magnificent. I am glad I am not the only one dressed up in costume (as Link just like last year). The music is simply beautiful. The feeling and experience just draws me in along with the gaming visuals on the screens. I brought two of my friends with me on this trip, this being their first time in Madison Square Garden. It is a show we will never forget and we plan on preordering our tickets for the next event/ I will not have a problem coming to this event again and again. It warms my heart to revive the symphony orchestra to a younger generation such as mine. Mitch Hendrix

Nintendo fans, Zelda fans, anyone could enjoy this show!! I loved the "Ocarina of Time" movement, it was romantic, compelling, and just took me back through the many long hours I have dedicated to Link and his adventures over the years... there wasn't a single boring moment. Even if you are only a console gamer (like me) and missed out on the handheld titles (DS), you won't feel like you missed out on anything when watching this show. Now that I have seen this show, I cannot wait for Replay to announce their next tour with dates!! I am sorry to hear that Zelda will not be on tour in 2014, but I shall wait with great anticipation for the 2015 show!! Bring back the mini theme songs: Song of Storms please!! Thank you to Jason Michael Paul and Nintendo for a wonderful evening. KEEP IT UP!!!!

Oh where to start? The whole event was wonderfully performed with the orchestra and the visuals. The people were wonderful. It was fun getting my picture taken since I was dressed up in costume. I would definitely come back the next time the event takes place in Madison Square Gardens.

I've been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series for many years. I know it's a fairly big seller as games go, but to enter an arena where every one of the thousands of patrons was a Zelda enthusiast was a truly a breathtaking experience. The demographic of the crowd was unexpectedly diverse, and I spotted only one youngster among the throng. The local orchestra (St. Luke's) was phenomenal. I have attend more than a couple of classical concerts in my life, and I thought this orchestra was impressively sublime. I don't believe I heard more than one misstep the entire evening. The music was rousing, bold, passionate, and of course, nostalgic. I was surprised by how moved I became, with the highlights of various Zelda games playing across three large screens above the stage, and the dulcet waves of the music washing over me. The crowd in attendance was great fun. A small few wore items or semi-costumes from the series, but we all laughed and cheered when reminded of our favorite moments from the series, telling a small part of our childhoods and perhaps our current adult lives, as well. The audience, appropriately, never became too raucous, but was always quick to let the musicians know our approval of the selections and interpretations of the music. There were 3 encores in all, each a welcomed surprise as the evening had to come to an eventually end. We all left the theater abuzz with the event. Our 3DS's catching Street Pass hits by the dozens. We strolled into the quiet NY night to get a bite to eat, each of us offering what tracks we wished they had performed from the vast library of material from the Zelda series. My daughter and I had a great night. I'll remember it always. It was a perfect night, actually.

I listened to the Zelda 25th anniversary CD multiple times and the orchestrated one was a true rendition of it. It was great to see the visuals that are supposed to go along with the music. I think this could have been improved for some of the tracks but it was fine. I loved how they added new tracks into the concert that I haven't heard before and they were all amazing even if I did not play the game. Also, stick around until the end for special encores! If you are a zelda fan, I am sure you will enjoy the concert and relive all the great moments with the series.

I do not hold much nostalgia with the Zelda series but I am familiar with some of the games ost and I heard a beautiful orchestrated version of some of my favorite tracks. Only downside is it took place outside and it was a little chillybas well as 20$ parking my god. But the food there and drinks (even alcohol) were not the usual event expensive prices.

The orchestra sounded amazing!! The music was breathtaking. The scenes from the games bring back memories. Our daughters first cosplay experience dressed as Medli and she absolutely loved it! Everyone complimented her and wanted pictures with her and we loved seeing all the other cosplay characters there. So much fun, a great community of people, friendly music loving gamers at this show. It was a beautiful evening and the view of the city from the venue just topped off the experience and made this an unforgettable night. Thank you

If this comes to your city, don't hesitate, get tickets and go, you won't be disappointed!

Overall the play was really well done! There were really good light effects with the music. They started the show on time. The music wasn't disappointing at all, and the products they sold there were really cool as well! Sadly they weren't very organized with the store so it was really crowded but people were still able to get to the front somehow, and it also seemed that they were limited with the items so if you want them it's better to get there early! Or at the break time get to the store as fast as you can. The play was really well done and I highly recommend it to anyone that's a Zelda fan, and anyone else for that matter!

Any fan of the Legend of Zelda, or video game music in general will enjoy this amazing show! I would recommend this show to any casual observe because it is widely accessible and the music is beautiful. The visuals are also very beautiful and compliment the music extremely well. This is a must for any Zelda fan and worth the price of admission for any who aren't fans.

It was very interesting, and really awesome because it played some of my favorite songs on instruments I play. I would like it better if it had more interesting items for sale.

This was one of the best symphonies I have ever attended. The music from all the zelda games was outstanding and the orchestra was outstanding. Being able to watch the games the songs were from was a fun little bonus. I found myself going back and fourth from what was going on the screen and the orchestra. My one complaint, which isn't really something bad, just a small nitpick as someone who is a fan of Zelda is that I wish they ended the symphony with Majora's Mask. They ended with music from Skyward Sword which is okay, but I feel that the music from Majora's Mask was the one people were waiting for the most because I felt a happiness glee in the theatre when they started playing it's music. Small nitpick, but they played all the best music from Zelda and it is a wonderful experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses lives up to the title. The musical composition, performance and arrangement were brilliant and very moving. While listening, it is made clear what the intended purpose and tone of the song are. For instance, the theme of Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess... It is made quite obvious that this is a song that was written to give the player, or in this case, listener, a feeling of grand adventure. Another example, the theme of Fi from Skyward Sword... It's a slower and a rather emotional song. Having played Skyward Sword, it fits very well with Fi's purpose in the plot of the game. The orchestra makes the purpose of every song very clear through their performance. Some parts were extremely powerful, even getting to the point where one might begin to tear up from the power of the performance. The orchestra did every song that they played great justice. Every song was masterfully performed. I would, without a doubt, recommend this to others. You don't even need to be a fan of the Legend of Zelda series to enjoy it! This show was indeed a symphony worthy of the goddesses.

The orchestra/chorus were phenomenal and the conductor had a great attitude. Everyone involved was very helpful and there were no problems with parking or seating. I wish they had brought more merchandise to purchase, and there wasn't a particularly organized system for purchasing the merchandise either. Still, this didn't detract much from an amazing night.

The Columbus Ohio venue was beautiful and our seats were great for the price we paid. Ticket master made it easy to pick our seats and the tickets also arrived right on schedule. The symphony did an outstanding job on their performance and match up with the video montage behind them. I would go see this again.

I am not a hardcore Zelda/gaming dude but the music was amazing. For those folks who have grown up with the music as part of their life/gaming existence I am sure it was akin to something religious for them. Really would have liked to hear more from the Mask game and the Ocarina of Time themes\u2026.the early on 2d gaming bits were a waste. Kudos to the Ohio Theatre and parking (only $5 in Columbus Commons--very reasonable as opposed to Cleveland).

I very much enjoyed the show. My wife thought it was OK which is great since she made fun of it weeks before we went. She does not enjoy video games. The show is not quite 2.5 hours like the website states. All of the music is fantastic and the screen visuals are a nice touch. Visuals are repeated a lot and the conductor likes to walk off the stage a lot. Maybe he is prolonging the experience, but it does get annoying. Good show and experience. I would do it again and feel it is worth the cost.

Both my wife and I love the Legend of Zelda and the music and game play. Both of our kids love it as well. This was fabulous, having the symphony play to the clips of gameplay and having the zelda devleopers talk to you during this. Well worth the two hours and finishing with the music from skyward sword was awesome

The orchestra was absolutely beautiful. All of the music was played excellently it took you to another place a place of nostalgia. As you watch to screen you sit there remembering when you were a child trying to Save princess Zelda! I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the legend of Zelda series. Musicians did a excellent job of painting a picture with their music styles.

The music itself was good, and was arranged nicely The performance was not bad, but not outstanding. The clips from the games that were projected onto a screen were somewhat distracting, and, I think, unnecessary. Things kind of dragged toward the end when it kept looking like the piece that was just finished was the last one, but then another one would start. The fans were quite annoying. They seemed to care far more about the video games than the music. I would have enjoyed the music much more if the Zelda fans had been able to periodically cease their noise-making.

The Saenger is very pretty inside; it set a great mood for the Zelda concert. Great music from the franchise, done with orchestral flair. Soloists on woodwinds got to play the iconic motif, and the first violinist was also very talented. Great conductor as well. The video that played during the concert could be seen from the balcony (albeit with the very top edge cut off a bit because of our viewing angle). Balcony seats are better for orchestras, so you can see all the instruments and musicians. I toured the ground level during intermission, and while I could have been closer down there, I wouldn't have been able to see everyone.

Always love to hear the music from the Legend of Zelda series! For once, the symphony was in Charleston and my friends and I could enjoy it. A+, really! I hope they can do the symphony again in the future. The only issue I had was with the wait line for the merchandise. I skipped over it because I was afraid it would take too long.

We drove a long way to get to this concert and it was totally worth it! The program was amazing, especially so for Zelda fans, but the orchestra was fantastic even if you don't recognize the music. But if you love Zelda, this is a must-see! Well worth the price of the ticket and you get to celebrate it with fellow Zelda fans!
