Although I would have preferred to hear more Wayman tunes as the event suggested, it was still a very good show and the artists did not disappoint, doing what they do best, putting on a great show.

Norman, Start your performances with your material. You've got great stuff! Are you kidding me? After the Storm, Out of Nowhere, or Just between us. Stop treating your guest in a subservient manner. Do you see Jimmy Page praising ANY guest that perform with him? Nothing wrong with thanking them and acknowledging their talent. YOUR THE STAR! Please come back to Chicago

Always a fan of a Normal Brown show, this one was even better with the expected addition of Eric Darius and the surprise addition of Alex Bugnon. Great show, great energy, great crowd! The House of Blues is not my favorite jazz venue, but the energy in the room made up for the lack of comfort. That and the sweet potato fries are great!

The Concert was very nice and he displayed a lot of energy and really entertained the audience. I would say that the only problem was that the scheduled start time was 7p.m and the concert did not actually start until 8:30p.m. A very long wait time and there was no communication from staff to let us know anything but it was worth seeing one of the great Jazz Guitarist of our generation.

I enjoyed the concert. The only thing is the show started after 8 p.m., when I expected it to start on time, at 7. Also, it ended too soon. Before 10 p.m.. It was nice but ended too soon. Didn't get to hear some of my favorite cuts.

The Norman Brown summer storm tour was smoking hot! He started the show off with a tribute to Wayman Tisdale. Eric Darius, turned the show out with an Alicia Keys tune and finally, Patti Austin, is so cool and classy! She looks fabuleous!!!

Great concert , but the sound system crew for Norman was not professional. The concert is supposed to start at 7:30, but they are running around doing mic checks. When the concert finally started (8pm), his mic wasn't loud enough. They had to constantly make adjustments. Norman kept apologizing for them. Other than that the concert was

I would give it 3 thumbs up out of 5.......the best part of the show was when Eric Darrius came out and did an Alicia Keys Song...that was awesome......He was in the crowd...interacting with the crowd, giving Hi Fives.....Patti Austin only sang on of her songs the rest were by other artist...I felt that Norman Brown Didnt really give his all...Maybe because of the technical difficulties but it could have been better...I've seen him before and his other shows were better

This event was okay. I'd definitely recommend it to other people but that doesn't excuse the fact that 80 percent of the show was disturbed by trying to figure out the constant sound problems. I couldn't hear Norman Brown's guitar as clearly as I have been able to hear guitars in past concerts at Chene Park. One of my favorite moments was when the man who played the saxophone played and especially when he went out into the auidience. It was like we all went wild. Even though there was a lot of technical difficulty, it never got in the way of the overall atmosphere that Norman Brown and his band created for the audience. I can't wait to go to the next concert at Chene Park; they're GREAT!

Norman Brown has alway been one of my favorite entertainers. I rate him right up there with George Benson (well at least a close second). Adding Eric Darius, whom I rate right along with the great sax masters (especially the late Art Porter), was a perfect fit. These guys really know how to work the stage and engage their audience. Every song is upbeat and NEW school, jazz with a new flavor. So sad that Wayman Tisdale passed but Patty Austin (Classy Patty or the second coming of "The Baby" for those of you who don't know of whom I reference, Nancy Wilson) stepped right up to the plate and hit a home run with her vocal renditions. Anyway what I really enjoyed is their performances together. Unlike other concerts where you're really worn out before the head act comes on, they melded into a complete jam session

This was an awesome show! Norman was hot and his friends, Patti Austin, Eric Darius and keyboardist Gail Johnson made the session great. Grooved the entire evening. However, my husband was waiting for "Pops Cool Groove" which was not played, the only dissapointment of the night.

At first I thought it was going to be another concert because I never seen Norman Brown before. But he played and played, I mean he played the music that a person my age (54) can appreciate and listen to over and over again. I will see him again when he comes to town. Also my wife loved his music. Thank you Norman Brown.

For at least Normans first 3 or 4 songs he is up there just play his heart out and you can not hear a thing he is playing. They finally figured it out but why did it take so long. I have seen many concerts at Chene Park with great sound but this sound set up did not do justice to the main players. If all you want to hear is drums, keyboard, and bass guitar.....this is for you. Eric Darius was more like he was one of the band members instead of a key player. His sound was constantly drowned out and often not the main sound you heard. No punch to this great sax player which once again was the poor sound techs. I really should get my money back. Very disappointed.

The weather was exceptional, the opening act was a great surprise. Marcus Anderson, local to the area. We recommend if you can see him when ever you can !!! Then Norman, Jonathan and Alex took the stage and the rest was history. Even when a train past behind the stage the conductor and guy in the caboose were waving and dancing... This was a perfect night of jazz, romance, and weather... !!!! The ONLY draw back were the prices at the venue - very $$$ for drinks.

Although all acts were good they were too short. Only two songs each performer. The local opening act was phenomenal, Marcus Anderson. He played for at least an hour. The should have left him on he and his band were amazing. Not bad given the price of the tickets but we paid to see Norman, Alex and Johnathan. Also why no red wine at the concession bar? They have white wine I don't understand how you can possibly not have red wine. Also there was a prediction of rain But we weren't allowed to bring in umbrellas. We had seats in the second row but the chairs were dirty so when we sat down the back of our light colored summer clothes were filthy. Lesson learned we will bring wipes for the chair next time. And if you were sitting on the grass you weren't allowed to bring in your blankets or a chair. Kind of sucks. It is allowed at koko booth theater in Cary. You need\\want something to sit on. GIVE US A BREAK! but all up all in, once you know all of the things you can prepare accordingly and have a good time.

This was my first time attending an event at the Redhat Amphitheater, absolutely loved it. Being from the Pacific Northwest where Smooth Jazz is a popular music genre made feel like I was in Seattle/Tacoma again. The venue is great but I have some suggestions. Firstly, at a jazz concert you will never encounter a rowdy crowd. Smooth jazz listeners for the most part are middle-aged, well established, and go to listen to the music and that it. In fact, a single woman can attend a jazz concert without feeling intimidated. With that being said, I believe you would even get a large crowd if you allow concert goings to 1. bring in own food in picket baskets, 2. allow lawn chairs and umbrellas, and finally 3. Offer whole bottles of wine at a reasonable price Back home I would attend the smooth jazz concert every year. There was never an issue with the crowd. Future performers I would to see at Redhat are as follows: Rachelle Ferrell, Brian Culbertson, Euge Groove, Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Natalie Cole,

Venue was good but the dinner entree selections were minimal. Also the table set up was odd in that the tables (at least on the upper tier) were VERY narrow for the seating of 8 people. I ate with my plate in my lap. I assume they split the tables in order to seat more people but it made for awkward dining. The wait staff was good. Now the show was excellent (with the exception of the opener who could have been left off). It was a TRUE Christmas concert in that they sang Christmas songs. Some entertainers market their concerts near Christmas as a "holiday" show and may sing only one Christmas song. It was nice hearing renditions of various Christmas songs by Norman, Marion and Bobby Caldwell. I hope they come back next year because I'll definitely attend again.

The concert was the best that I've attended this year. Brian Simpson, Euge Groove, Eric Darius and Norman Brown were all excellent. The weather was perfect, the people were friendly, the venue was great and the music sounded perfect. Even the parking was free. This was a great concert. There was only one negative thing about the concert - they actually cut the power on the artists when they were playing too long. I don't know if Mableton has a curfew, but they are going to have to rethink having an amphitheater for major acts if they are going to use that limited "small town" mentality.

It was my first time seeing Brian Simon, he was awesome. I purchased his cd. I couldn't believe he stayed all night autographing his cd's, just a warm guy. Euge Groove added to the night by being a fun and talented entertainer. We wanted more time to see Eric Darius to entertain us but time didn't allow it to happen. He was high energy leaving us wanting more. Maybe we can make the cruise with these great guys in 2011. That would be awesome!

This was one of the best concerts I've seen in a while. The entire show was full of energy and great music.

A fantastic performance, by fantastic musicians, at a fantastic venue, on a fantastic summer evening on the Detroit River! My only complaint is that Norman Brown didn't play his song "Lydian."

Really enjoyed the musicians, however the venue had an opening act comedian that was pretty bad, so it took an extra 50 minutes from the time printed on the labels to see the three preform. I also wish that the mixing didn't make everything so loud, it began to take away from the music. Otherwise I really enjoyed the songs and the way all three were having fun

I have seen Alex and Norman at least 4 times prior and had never seen Jonathan. I did not expect that they would playing mostly together. Alex is a tremndous talentandwould have liked to have heard more. Norman is equally talented and would have preferred to hear more of him solo. Perhaps he should not have due to the awful sound engineering. It was distorted toward the front and if I didn't know the music so well I would not have known what they weere playing. Jonathan is better or recording. Overall, the venue was great. The service was good and I would come back.

First time at the amphitheater. Show was great. Thought it was good that all the artist were on stage at the same time then did their own thing. Can't wait till you bring Norman back!

This show was absolutely amazing. We also had the pleasure of Marcus Anderson opening up the show as well! These three did a wonderful job. It was very entertaining...the weather was perfect...and the venue was nice! Would see this show again if I could. I'm so glad they came to the Raleigh, NC area.

What a great night of entertainment on a nearly perfect summer night in Downtown Raleigh. Norman Brown and Alex Bugnon were fantastic; however, Johnathan Butler is a truly great artist and made the show!!! Keep the Smooth Jazz coming.

This was a absolutely wonderful show. Each performer was marvelous and they performed so well together . I wish each of them had enough CDs, but Norman did not bring any. But he was "GREAT"

I only wish the show was longer than about 1 hour since there were three dynamite performers, but it still was a great show for the price considering the high caliber of these three jazz greats.

Never was it more evident of 'class act' performers demonstrated. The respect for each others gifts were apparent and respected. Not to mention being fans of each other. It was definitely one of the BEST performances I have ever seen. Not to mention, my good friend Jay WIlliams was on the drums.

This show is one every smooth jazz lover should see. These are three of the best players in the business and the show reflects that. I saw no egos, just alot of love for their music, the fans and each other. YES!!! GO SEE THIS SHOW!!! p.s. Just ignore the very rude staff of the Birchmere. From the lady that hands out the tickets, to the guy on the door who looks you up and down and tells someone else to seat you (even if the man didn't hear him and the doorman contiues to ignore you). Not to mention the fact the waitress never came over to get an order. Ignore that!!! Just see them somewhere else.
