Skate America

We don't get out very often, so when we saw this was coming to our area we decided we had to go. We love watching ice skating on TV so knew we would love the show. Didn't disappoint. As well we now know who to look for when the Olympics come around.

I loved our seats and loved the event all together! I was extremely blessed as a life long figure skating fan!

Skate America was well worth attending and I would always recommend an All Session Pass. The price was excellent and it entitles the holder to attend all events along with all practice sessions. The event itself was excellent and showcased such skating talent. One might think that attending so many sessions would be overwhelming but the time passes quickly. The Detroit venue had easy parking and easy access to the Detroit People Mover.

This is the first time I've been to an actual live figure skating competition. Watched many times on TV, but first time to a live event. I wasn't disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed the skating competition, and being able to speak wth a couple of the competitors.

I am a big fan of figure skating, so I couldn't miss Skate America when it was so close to the city where I currently stay. :) I have been to the similar event in Russia, (Cup of Russia) and I can say that arrangement of this Skate America was very good and met all my expectations! I would like to thank organizers and participants, because I enjoyed the show as well as the organization! Thank you! You did a great job!

It was great to have such high level skaters here in the area. A joy to watch.

It was a very well run event. It is a shame there were not more people in attendance; perhaps it wasn't well advertised in the southern California area.

We had a great time our seats were great Iloved we got to see 2 events. Citizens arena is a very nice place everyone was so helpful. I would for sure return again for figure skating or any other event.

We saw the pairs and ladies singles events. Both events were very good. It was nice watching the skaters in person that we have seen so many times on TV.

Skate America 2011 was an awesome event. It was great to see the international skaters here in America. Our favorite skater didn't win but we had a great time! Watching Meryl Davis & Charlie White skate was absolutely MAGICAL!

My daughter and I went to two events. One one Sat. night and one on Sunday afternoon. We were very happy with the seats and of course the skating.

It was great seeing the world's best figure skating! Congratulations to Team USA!

We had a great time watching Champions and up-and-coming skaters as well. The event moved along nicely and there were lots of activities to learn more about skating. The arena handled everything well. My only complaint is the food choices are not good for those trying to keep their calories low and since we were not able to bring anything in the arena from the outside it was a bit of a problem.

Skate America was a great event and the Citizens Bank Arena was the perfect size to see it....

It was great to see the skaters live. Very exciting.

It was my first time watching this event, we loved it. We will do it again!

I'm disappointed and felt cheated. I bought 2 full-event packages because we want to watch Evan Lysacek live as it was advertised before we bought the full package tickets. Not until the event weekend after we got there, we realized Evan was not going to skate.

I really enjoyed the competition. I enjoyed the AT& T text quiz. Also like Hilton booth too.

The show was great, the competition judging had only minor flaws. Citizen's Bank Arena is one of the best in the area! There are no bad seats, the ushers are friendly and helpful. Just wish there were more people there, I hope they can continue to book ice shows.

The whole event was top notch. The staff at Joe Lewis Arena were some of the nicest folks ever. Excellent parking and clean clean clean.

This is my second time attending. I would recommend it highly. It is fun to see the skaters walking around. It gives the little skaters such a thrill. My seats were great as well. My only suggestion would be to allow the customers to stay in the arena between the events. At Skate America last year in Hoffman Estates we were able to do so. The kids enjoyed watching the skaters practice. In Milwaukee, there was a concert and sporting event going on in the same area. All of the restaurants were packed and we couldn't get anything to eat. We went back to the arena to be told that we couldn't get back in until 6:30. My child is a diabetic and it was a major hardship not to have a meal. There were many other families that were upset as well. Please keep this in mind for next year. Thanks. Karen Duggen

I loved Skate America; I had never been to an elite skating competition before. I loved watching all of the skaters and seeing the behind-the-scenes look at the judges and the cameramen working.

Loved making the trip to Milwaukee (from Chicago) to cheer on our skaters. Very appreciative audience made the whole experience a great time. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought the seats were very uncomfortable. Also during the 2 hour break between competitions, the food vendors were closed and there were very few options nearby where we could go to eat. With a concert and a Bucks game right nearby, very difficult to get into any place.

Skate America - an olympic style skating competition, was amazing! The ladies were throwing triples and the men pulling quad jumps. We had 1st row tickets and it was so close to the action. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the sport.

I look forward to Skate America and was not disappointed this year. The event seemed to be well planned. I liked the ticketing system for the All Event pass. Was easy to enter or leave if you had to. Great souvenir too. Just wish there had been more people attending to show support for the great athletes.

Last minute decision to drive the 4.5 hrs to attend Skate America and so glad we did! Only saw the men's LP and free dance and wish we could have stayed for the whole thing, especially the exhibition/skating spectacular. Seating: We were further off-center than would have liked but on end where skaters entered/exited ice. Kiss & cry curtained off and not visible from our seats, but they had everything displayed on the jumbotron.

Very impressed, first time I saw top skaters perform live. I was amazed at their athleticism. It was a great dad and daughter experience. Got me excited to see them perform in the upcoming Olympics.

This event was amazing!! I went with my friend from my skating club(: We both had a blast!! We met so many Team USA skaters and everyone was amazing! Still can't believe this happened!!

Loved the skating. Tons of fun swag giveaways from sponsors. Great seats at reasonable price (bought at last minute). Lots of fun all the way around

Great skaters, olympic talent, scoring, gold, silver, bronze. What more can you ask for

The workers at Joe Louis were polite and helpful. The skating was great and being so close to the ice made it even better.

Detroit has so many great skaters, multiple national champions, and international competitors train in metro-Detroit. I'm surprised Detroit isn't chosen to host more ISU events, as there is a huge skating community in Metro Detroit, I'd love to see more happening at Joe Louis. Everything started on time, arena staff was very helpful. Easy parking access The floor in the stands is filthy with sticky grime and garbage, many of the seats were stained or covered with spilled drinks.

Poor choice of food offerings. There were no vendor booths to occupy time between segments and if we left the stadium parking we had to pay another$15 to park again. ...of course the skating was great!

This was a wonderful sporting event, well managed, and a great chance to see skaters from all over the world in an Olympic year. The fans were enthusiastic and also international which was fun too. I love seeing one of my favorite sports with an enthusiastic crowd.

Wonderful competition with amazing skaters and skating. Wish there were more people that appreciated this because these are world class plus athletes. Over seas they sell out on events like this.

Great venue for this event. Parking was easy. I would love to see more figure skating events held here.

I bought VIP package for Skate America at Joe Luis Arena. It was a great competition and the VIP lounge was very good! The quality of food was good, and the service was great. But our seats at the arena was not great.

I've been going to Skate America for several years, and Detroit has hosted the best Skate America yet. Loved the VIP perks too.

If you like watching figure skating then you don't want to miss Skate America. Elite skaters make this international competition a must see.

I loved the event, I watched the practice sessions and the event and I was very entertained.

We had an amazing time at Skate America! All the events and practice sessions were unforgettable!

The skaters should be very proud of their performances. You could tell that they gave it their all! I would definitely recommend this event to even those individuals that like skating just "a little". The all season pass might have seemed pricy at first but was worth every penny.

Skate America at the Joe was fantastic. It was well organized, the staff, concessions workers, parking attendants and security were gracious and helpful. We didn't experience any parking problems - though the organizing committee may want to consider other sporting events taking place simultaneously in Detroit in the future as parking could prove to be problematic. I hope that Skate America returns to Detroit and to the Joe in particular.

Skating was great. Guest services at the joe Louis arena could not have been any better. I needed wheelchair service at the last minute and this was handled in a timely manner at every event!

The skaters were so amazing and the venue was perfect for seeing everything. This was the first time we had gone to a skating event and it was more exciting then we could have ever imagined.The costumes are so beautiful, the sound of the blades on the ice is incredible and the whole experiece is so much better than watching on television. We had the best time ever!

this is my first time to watch skating live ;it is very interesting and a unique experience to see the skaters performs.you see and feel their emotions,their frustrations and joy as well as the participation and applause of the audience.

I took my mom to this event for her birthday and we absolutely enjoyed it. It was so much better than watching it on TV. I hope to be able to go again some time.

Three days of wonderful skating followed by a professional show quality exhibition,I could not have asked for anything more!

Our Seats were great and the Show was Fantastic...would definitely go again. My mom is 84 years young and she was delighted with the music and skating. She used to be a skater in her younger days....
