Just a classic Poi Dog show except that had more original members playing. the vidio was, especially lemon drop man. I counted 22 people that played that night on stage and never seen Frank bring people on stage.Great guy great band. Was going to have them play my wedding in 04, but they had walgreens that night.

Poi Dog Pondering is just an amazing live experience. At certain points in the show, there were up to 17 people on stage at once. Kornell, Charlotte and Susan always just blow me away. Frank's energy is unmatched. Despite having so many pieces, they are always so tight and clean. Their sounds is amazing, their music is fun and uplifting, and their energy is contagious. But whoever decided that Mistress Stephanie and Her Melodious Cat, or whatever the hell that was, would be a great opening act for this show doesn't get the audience mood before PDP. This was WAYYYYY too bizarre to be enjoyable. They played polka, and not even well. The guy in cat drag was just disturbing. Hey, to each his own, I'm all about that, but from what I saw, that was not something that appealed to that audience. Bailiff and the Hula/Hawaiian thing was good though. Oh, and the majority of the audience doesn't speak French, so the MC was a little weird. But I get the concept and it was interesting. And nothing could ruin a Poi Dog show for me. They're just amazing.

Great show, only I don't understand why it started a half hour early. That early band was worth listening to, but I only caught the last song. I guess I could do without Miss Stephanie or whatever.

Poi Dog puts on shows that represent what live music is all about. The collective good vibe that the band and the audience share in a great venue like the Vic can't be put into words it needs to be experienced!

Poi Dog Holiday Shows are always Amazing!!! Frank and the band never disappoint. No matter what your taste in music there is a little something for everyone. A Poi Dog show is what live music shared with an audience is all about.

The concert had so much energy and the group so much talent - 4th time I have seen them and this was the best yet!! Only complaint was they didn't come on until almost 10pm - if ticket says concert starts at 8, I think it should, or close to it. But still loved it.

Poi dogs pondering present fantastic music.. Frank orwell is genuis. The music is more than creative, it is inspired by the the gods. Down side is the music system was too loud especially with the base so that the sound was sometimes distorted. Only about 50% of the show was pleasantly audible. The first act was a rock group bailiff, and they were ok. The 2nd act stunk Misstress stefanie and her melodic cat. PU! The Vic Theater in Chicago should be condemmed. It was so filthy and the paint was peeling from the ceiling. The floors were so sticky that I thought I might get stuck and not move. I appreciate that it could be a historic landmark. But geez, someone needs to renovate the building. I am not a neatnic or a cleaning fanatic, I am a regular gal. Some may even find my house a bit messy. So if I say it's bad, it's bad.

My husband turned 50 on Nov 21st and he casually mentioned several weeks ago that all he wanted for his birthday was to go see PDP. That's what he got - we went last night - and he has been raving about it ever since. The venue (the Vic) was intimate with great seats to see band up close. PDP gave an energentic performance that lasted until 12:30. Got a lot for the money - best birthday gift I ever gave him!

We really enjoyed the first band, but the second band from Austin was a real downer. One warm up band is ENOUGH!! Poi Dog was great!

Poi dog puts on one of the best live shows you could ever see, unfortunately not tonight. the mood started wrong with the opening act. the melodic cat and his mistress was just "off". the poi set never seemed to take off, it was choppy. By the lack of energy in the crowd i think they thought the same. It's a shame because poi dog is usually a guaranteed great evening. The band is still great it's just this one night it didn't work.

One of my all-time favorite bands and unfortunately it's been a few years (maybe 4) since I've seen them. Nice to re-visit a classic venue like The Vic and the band really delivered with a good mix of classic and new. Entire ensemble still rocks and Frank supplies the energy expected from Poi. Little disapointed that "Complicated" was played down and not closer to the end, if not the encore, but that would be my only slight complaint. Always a great show and this did not disapoint!
