My first time at the Howard Theater and it is a great venue. The show was awesome. The opening act hailing from PA did a great job getting the crowd ready to rock. As Armored Saint hit the stage, John Bush's vocals did not disappoint. They rocked just like I remember from back in the day. The bass player's enthusiasm had him bouncing from one side of the stage to the other while he pounded out those heavy notes. Partial to guitarists, these two were mesmerizing. In your face, neck shredding ridiculousness. Saxon are some heavy hitters. They don't play around when it comes to hard hitting rock melodies. As the crowd pounded their fists to Princess of the Night, Battering Ram and Dallas 1 PM, Saxon was a force all their own. A memorable, awesome show, with long-time friends who love to head bang as much as me. My neck is still sore.....say no more!.

Armored Saint opened up the show and it was great to see them back on stage together rocking hard. They brought such energy and was a good opener. I really wish they would concentrate on their band by putting out more CD's regularly and hitting the stage a lot more. Then Saxon came on and I cannot praise these guys more. They are such the professional metal heads and are one of the best bands to see live. These guys have been at it for 35 years and show no signs of slowing down. I've see them about 5 times over the years, from 1983 to now and I have to say they only get better and better year after year. They played all their old classics, including The Eagle Has Landed and I was so happy that they did. Last time I saw them do that song was in 1983 at the Long Beach Arena. There was fog on the stage, the lights set the mood and they killed it. Well, Saturday night was no exception, as they tore it up again. Then they played a four song encore. How cool is that? Do yourself a favor and see these guys whenever they come through your town. It's a real shame that here in America, we don't understand the importance of this band. The rest of the world does, but not us. They should be playing stadiums and large arenas like they do constantly all over the world. On one hand, it's a good thing for me because I get to see them in small venues, but bad for them because they are so much bigger than that. I personally think they are on the level of Iron Maiden, if not better. SAXON is a great band. Wake up people and figure it out. They still put out quality albums year after year and their live show is tops! Biff said they will be back by the end of the year. I will be there!

No disappointment what so ever! Armored Saint came out with high energy and it was good to see them back together and up on stage again. Wish they could've played a longer set. Then SAXON. They guy are so good and such the professional metal heads. One of the best bands to see live. Biff and company tore it up. Every single minute was pure joy and the whole crowd loved it. They played such a great set of all their classic songs and Biff's introductions are great and entertaining. I've seen them about 5 times all in all from 1983 to now and honestly, they are like a fine wine because they get better with age. And when they played The Eagle Has Landed, I just lost it. Last time I saw them do that song live was at Long Beach Arena back in 1983 and the stage was covered with fog and the lights were very effective to set the mood and they just killed it. Then they played a four song encore. How cool is that? It really is a shame that these guys aren't playing stadiums here in the states. We're the only ones that don't get it. The rest of the world does, but not us. One one hand, that's good for me because I get to see them in these little venues but bad for them because they should be as big or bigger than Iron Maiden right now. Seriously folks, check out their catalog of music. So good and they are still cranking out great albums year after year. These guys deserve a lot more! Can't wait for them to come back. Biff said they will be back towards the end of the year. I'll be there.

Saxon was one of my all time favorite British Heavy Metal Bands (NWOBHM) ...I have never thought I would see them again. Last concert I saw was "Live Innocence" didn't think that they would be around to tour in 2015. I knew they were coming out with an album, but didn't realize that they would perform Live at BB King Blues Club. The show was phenomenal.

Fantastic show! I had not seen Saxon in concert since "The Crusader" tour of 1984. They have become a seasoned, veteran rock act who can play their songs to perfection. Bif Byford (Vocals), Paul Quinn (Guitar), and Nigel Glockner (Drums) were all in the 84-line-up (I believe). The bass player and lead guitarist (whose names I do not know) are welcome additions to the band and, fine players to boot. I found the new material off their 2012 album "Sacrifice" to be quite good. I did not know what to expect from Saxon in almost a 30 year gap of seeing them play live, but I was pleasantly surprised. Rock on boys!!

I had an amazing time at the Saxon and Fozzy concert on September 17, 2013 at Reverb in Reading, PA. Not only was it my first time going to see Saxon and Fozzy, but it was also the first time I ever went to a concert. The bands played with a lot of energy and the sounded great! I would definitely go and see them again if they came back around to Pennsylvania!

I recently saw Saxon at Blondies on Sunday, Oct. 9th, 2011. It was my first time seeing them and it was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. Saxon does not disappoint. They played for over an hour and 45 minutes! An incredibly long set, especially by today's standards. They mixed in songs off of their new album Call To Arms with so many classics I can't list them all. I highly recommend to everyone that Saxon is a must see. I know that I'll be there the next time they come around!!!!

Saxon put on an excellent performance ! They were tight and each song sounded like the CD was playing. They played about 2 and 1\\2 hours and gave the crowd their moneys worth. A bit disappointed they didn't do "Dogs of War" or "Witchfinder General" but they can't be expected to do all their songs !! Also I had the pleasure of meeting lead singer Bif Byford before the show. Got his autograph and had a short conversation with him. !!! Real nice, down to earth person. He mentioned he's seen Niagara Falls (my hometown) a couple times in the past. He also said Saxon is going to do another US/Canadian Tour next year. I'll definitely go again when they come to Toronto in the future !! Great show !!

The Pheonix in Toronto is a good club, great venue for seeing live music. Saxon has been a favorite of mine since the mid 80's. They don't tour much in the US or Canada. I would highly recommend seeing them any chance you get. They are still one of the premier Metal bands in the world. Biff' can still carry all the songs and hit the notes, the band has envolved different members, but Nigel and Paul still rock with them all. Thuis was a great show. Only wish it would happen more often, it would sucks to wait another 8 years to get to seem them again.

I knew Saxon was respected as metal pioneers, but was unfamiliar with their music. This show was an absolute onslaught, and Saxon presented a good choice of grooves and melodies. All of the musicians played brilliantly. This was a perfectly-executed show by a bunch of English metal heavyweights. I bought a number of Saxon CDs after seeing this show.

I was shocked to have the opportunity to see Saxon in a relatively small venue such as the Meridian... Most of the rest of the world sees this band in festivals or stadium sized venues with scores of thousands of fans, but this was an intimate setting with maybe a few thousand mighty heavy metal maniacs in attendance. Saxon delivered as much power, glory, and heavy metal thunder that you would expect to see at the largest European festival - they literally blew the place apart with one classic after another, plus a few new tracks from the new album, Into the Labyrinth. I think Saxon was shocked to behold the level of noise and extent of mayhem brought forth by this tiny Texas crowd... Truly a special event, one of the absolute high points in my roughly 30 years of accumulated concert-going experience. If you missed it, you missed out on a rare chance to see one of metals finest.

This concert was a very special concert; it almost never occurs that a band that's part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal comes to the United States. Saxon put on a show that was a truly unforgettable experience, but the concert was only one-third of the experience. Outside in the line to get in people were singing, interacting, and extremely friendly. The opening band was a local talent and really put on a great show too. The second-third involved a concert that cataloged songs from across the decades. The final third was the fact that they told us to wait 30 minutes because they were going to come out and sign autographs in the lobby, and they kept their word. They stayed for at least 2 hours after the concert and didn't leave until every fan was satisfied. A truly memorable experience and I would recommend a Saxon concert to every fan of not only metal but music in general.

The only reason this gets 4 instead of 5 stars is that Armored Saint wasn't the headlining act, so the set was necessarily too short. John Bush is still one of the best lead singers in metal--the voice is still there, along with his trademark (Real) Swagger. Phil and Jeff were spot on as always, back and forth with leads and rhythm guitars. Gonzo and Joey worked the thunderous bass and percussion energetically. Joey's jumping in with more vocals here and there, presumably to save Bush's voice a bit. After the show, down to earth, appreciative guys, happy to mug for a pic or sign stuff. Great to see live, and still putting out good metal. Seven Witches also had a really short set, but kicked tail also. Jack is one hard working dude, metal through and through. Kinda miss Alan Tecchio, though.

I had not seen Saxon live since I saw them with Motley Crue back in '83 and these perennial road warriors did not fail to disappoint! Why this band failed to make it as big in the States as their contemporaries Maiden and Priest is beyond me because they are every bit as good. They continue to release consistently excellent albums and they are as powerful live now as they have ever been. I was front row right behind the barricade. I had an excellent view of the stage and was so close I could touch the musicians. I got to shake Biff Byford's hand twice and a roadie gave me a copy of the setlist after the show. The setlist was an awesome mix of old and newer material and the new stuff stands up quite well next to the classics. It's impressive how they change up their setlist from night to night and really give their all to the fans whether they're playing to 500 people or 5000! Long Live the Mighty Saxon! Fozzy and Halcyon Way both played entertaining sets as well. All in all, a great night of Metal in a great venue!

With Saxon as the headliner,it was up to Fozzy to lay down a tight set that would have the fans awaiting Biff and the band.Chris Jericho played to the crowd as band mates, did a great job of supporting him as he played to the crowd with a nice variety of old and new songs.A highly entertaining and rather heavy 45 minute set from Fozzy. Saxon used the title song of their new CD "Sacrifice" to set the stage for a 95 minute set that included everything from Denim and Leather to Guardians of the Tomb.Among the 2 highlights from my point of view was Made in Belfast and Dallas 1 PM.

OMG! Saxon is Amazing and still ROCK MY SOCKS!!! I, really don't care what critics say. The only thing that matters is the connection between the Listener and the Music. This is great music that is very easy to fall in Love with. They sing really well here and hey! ... there is no reason why a band can't be able to do this kind of music and still pull off Crusader. It shows a range of talent and I'd like to see Iron Maiden try to sing a song like this. It would be awful because they simply can't do it. The New complete Album of Saxon is quite versatile.

The one, the only, the mighty SAXON played their first headline gig in St. Louis in over 16 years, on Wed. April 4 at Delmar Hall. The metal fans came out in force, this time around and were treated to a melt your face, thunderous, bone crushing set, that only this veteran band can deliver. Saxon played there 5th show in a row on Wed in StL, on there way thru Sunday will, make 9 straight shows w/o a break! That is why SAXON calls themselves, Warriors Of The Road. They have been doing 275 plus shows a year and have never slowed since the beginning. They seem to be picking up speed actually, playing in front of big crowds, opening for Judas Priest and Motörhead in the past several years, here in the US, where they just now seem to be really breaking ground now. It is way over due. I have been following this band for almost 40 years and couldn t be happier for this band, blowing away US audiences! The crowd at Delmar Hall numbered around 300, which was quite a bit more than showed up for the Pop s gig all those years back. It was good to see and Biff acknowledged how excellent the audience was on this night. I can t say enough about my first visit to Delmar Hall. This room was built for cranking the volume. It fit SAXON perefectly, from there huge arena and open air shows they play to packed houses back home, the intimate setting on this night was a unique treat that would have be witnessed to believe. The power of SAXON is delivered with such sheer volume, energy and precision it feels like they could literally blow the roof off! For those that were lucky enough to catch this rare headline show of the mighty SAXON, at the most excellent Delmar Hall, you saw how the Big Boys do it!!!!

I drove 150 miles each way because I wanted to see Saxon do a headlining show and it was well worth the trip. They played for about an hour and 40 minutes. They did many of their classic songs along with about a half dozen from their new album Thunderbolt, which is very good. They took no breaks,no drum solos or guitar solos to eat up time. They just played song after song the way it should be done. The Chance is a great club to see a classic band like Saxon play in. I highly recommend seeing them as direct support for Judas Priest and if they play a headlining show anywhere near you,I suggest getting there because you never know if they will be back.

Saxon is touring again with UFO and they were very good. They mixed up the set list from 6 months ago and that is always good. I've been waiting 2 years to see Saxon play at BB Kings again because this venue is wonderful. Sitting down at tables to see a rock band, beautiful. Of course I stood up when Saxon came on. It was a great night. Brought my 15 year old son and he had a good time too. Prices are outrageous but I expected that. I never heard of Armored Saint before but I'm a fan now. Not knowing any of there songs and feeling like I did. Great singer. Biff's voice is still amazing and the whole band sounds as if they were in there prime. Can't wait to see them again when the new album comes out in September.

As always, Saxon put on a killer show at BB King's in NYC. Classic NWOBHM at its finest! They do a small tour of the US every couple years so don't miss out next time. Saxon rules!!!
