Motor City Blues Festival

I took my mom and sister to see and listen to some Awesome Blues Music. We all enjoyed the music. It s was great and how awesome to see Bobby Rush still doing his thing st 85. We re looking forward to next years performers already.

I am really glad I decided to purchase tickets. I got the chance to take pictures with Theodis Ealey and Sir Charles Jones plus I got their autograph...

I thought the show was rushed by all the performers..

I enjoyed the Concert with my Family it was Awesome .

I really liked Bobby Rush, Latimore and Theodis Ealey as blues artists but felt that Sir Charles isn't a Blues artist and shouldn't be on the same shows as the others.

It was a great time and a very good show looking forward to next year.

We don't get out much and this was the Best Night Out. All the acts were excellent as was the MC. This was great entertainment and the 60 and older dance contest, LMAO.

Show has GREAT variety and suberb artists. Especially enjoyed Bobby Rush, Lattimore and "Senior Ladies" dance contest. Disappointed that Floyd Taylor had passed away. Was looking forward to seeing him. My condolences to his family. I look forward to attending the show again next year.

I was happy that, I was able to enjoy myself. I will go to this concert again. Simply Amazing!!!!

THE show was wonderful. My seats were great. Everyone was friendly , singing and jamming with each other. I actually wish the show was much longer. It saddened me to hear of the passing of the Great Floyd Taylor. May his soul rest peacefully.

The show was awesome. No breaks. Just nonstop music.

I purchased a pair of tickets and won a set also. and OMG did we have a wonderful time. we all had great seats and to be in e venue full of blus artists perfoming was just awesome.

Was very disappointed in the event, not at all what we expected. We left 1/2 way through the show.

Really disappointed with Marvin S. he's great, talked to much. Loved the host. My wif e birthday, $156.00, Lousy seats, against the wall. My wife attended a Blues show in Mobile, Al, that she raved about. $ 10.00.

The line up was great! This was my 2nd time going to the event and I am already ready for the tickets to go on sale for next year's event. The performers were amazing. The Legendary Bobby Blue Bland was worth the price of admission alone. Latimore was the best performer by far to me. The Blues were definitely alright in Detroit that night!

It was my second year attending. It was very nice and entertaining. I feel that Bobby Bland should sit back and let the younger artist carry on the blues.

Concert was Awesome! My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves.

I was celebrating my birthday & it was my first time going to the Opera House and I really had a great time. Each artist put on a great performance. I listen to Sir Charles's music and I was excited to see him perform in person. The sound system was wonderful and I had great seats.

It was a great show, I love the blues and currently I am considering going to the south haven mississippi show in august 2012

I loved it! I hope they come back soon! Sir Charles Jones, Floyd Taylor. Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush etc., was wonderful! MC/host was funny too. I would have liked to see Bobby Rush minus the femaes- no class- poor quality. I wish the show was longer; had a great time!!

The concert was great as always! Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, Sir Charles Jones, and even the MC for the evening were great! I will DEFINITELY be attending again next year!!

The concert was wonderful. It was very well organized and began on time. The groups were very good and entertaining. My boyfriend and I loved the event and will return every year that it comes to Detroit!

My husband is a huge fan of Bobby Blue Bland so attending this event was an absolute must...I went reluctently. Well I tell you I had a great time! Floyd Taylor, Bobby Rush, Denise Lasalle, Bobby Blue and the wonderful Manhattans rocked the house. The music was great, the entertainers were excellent and the people attending were a great crowd. Kudos to the promoters and the Opera House!

I have been to several blues festivals and this was not a blues festival by any means. It was not worth the money and I would not recommend it to any friends. There were only 2 performers who had any added value to a "blues" performance. Additionally, the content of most of the performer's acts were crude, contained much profanity and sexually implicit. I will not attend another "Motor City Blues Festival Event". Finally, our main floor tickets were directly in front of a speaker limiting the view and skewing the sound. The stage is very large at this venue and the speakers could have been set on the stage. There was no reason to limit the view and to impair the hearing of those unlucky enough to sit directly in front of the speakers.

That was the best show I have been too since I been going to the blues concerts.

It was great from the MC to the closing act. Great

The sound system was Horrible. You could not clearly hear the artist. the music drowned them out. The acts were rushed. Lots of guests were complaing & alot of people left the show early!

The older acts Bobby Rush and Willie Clayton were best. The sound system not so good throughout the entire show. Just the energy of the two of I named will have you excited for awhile.

I loved the entertainment especially Sir CHARLES. Only thing is when you pay for your seats you want to stand up and enjoy, and you have lazy people behind you that want to sit down and then complain they can t see then hear comes the ushers. Well that s just crazy. I pay too much for my seats your supposed to enjoy the show!!

For what the tickets cost, I thought the show would be better than it was. Somewhat disappointed

Never have a concert at the Fox theater in Detroit MI...singers were rushed off the stage, singing the songs faster than usual trying to get as many songs in as possible. Pokey Bear came on stage without a band singing off his CD played behind stage

They showed up and showed out great performance. Bobby Rush was great!!!

The whole show was great only disappointed that Shirley Brown didn't show. The show went on.

It wasn't a blues fest that I'm used to. I expected something along the lines of some Buddy Guy or BB King. You're better off going to the Windsor Blues Fest in the summer.

Act to short, to many artist. Get rid of some of the acts, then the artist can perform longer. The artist don't have but about 20 minutes to perform. When you start getting into the artist music, its time for them to leave the stage. If they eliminate a couple of artist they can perform longer.

Thought it was going to be 4/5 bands doing blues music. Totally sucked. We love the blues and this was really rather insulting. Left at 1000. Was not impressed. Sad to say!! Paid out the door for nothing. Oh well live and learn. Were hoping it was kind of like the memphis blues festival!

A complete disgrace to call this a blues festival. I felt like I was at a middle school talent show and everyone thought they were boys to men. For four whole hours...the only exception was the first guy that came out and played one blues like song.

We had a blast. Every artist did a great job, can't wait next year.

I treated my husband to the blues festival since he is a big blues fan and we both had a very good time.

Overall I enjoyed this event...but Bobby Rush and Theotis were the best. Bigg Robb was funny but not the greatest singer.....enjoyed Shirley brown too but the acoustics were not the best for her voice...

Blues Festival was outstanding. TK Soul is amazing

Shirley Browns voice was REMARKABLE!! Everyone did VERY, VERYwell and we were pleased with the show! If its in a city near you go and check them out you will not be disappointed! Straight Vocals No Chaser!! No auto tunes or cover tracks. Greatest vocals Ive ever heard and Ive heard a lot of folks.

This was a great event. Theodis, Mel Waiters and Sir Charles was the greatest.

Show did not disappoint with many great performances. The show was too long though. Each performer should have had less time to perform each to shorten the length of the program or perhaps fewer performers. Many of the fans missed the last show, Bobby Rush, because they left.

It was definitely worth the money. There were several acts and the show was jumping for the entire 5 hours.

Great time! Worth the money. Grooved to the music all night long.

Good had a good time all the acts was good.They could have sang more songs but overall everything was good.
