It was so hot but we were in San Antonio at the end of May and on blacktop in the middle of the parking lot with not many places to cool off. But the bands all brought their best songs, making the sweltering heat worth it all. Godsmack was amazing. Pyrotechnics on point, drummers brought their heart on that stage, of coarse Sully's performance was awesome. The whole night was incredible and I have memories I'll never forget!

River city rock fest was a showplace of talent. Some of the newer bands actually blew away the 2 main acts. All in all the show was enjoyable. The only complaint was that they did not allow folding chairs so we were forced to spend long hours on our feet. There were some tables in back but these were full so there was no place to rest.

Great list if acts. Sound was awesome for a outdoor concert. More vendors and food choices would have been awesome. Drink prices wew to be expected. Guns N Roses could have started on time. This would be great if the keep found this annually.

The overall venue was ok, this is a all day event by the thi g that sucked about it was that you couldn't leave and come back in. Once you come in you have to stay there for it all. The earlier shows are ok and some of the bands were terrible. The main attraction was Guns and Roses, Bullet for my Valentine and Alice in Chains which are good bands. Some of the other bands were not up to par but performed ok. It's an outside event with multi-stage venue so it gets hot.

Thank you for organizing this event. It pretty much ran without any glitches, except for the port-o-potty's. Need more of those next year. I hope to see many many more of these outdoor events @ AT&T.

I am a 47-year-old who loves rock music but hates going to concerts because of the crowds and chaos. I went to this festival so that two of my kids and their friends could go. The bands were fine, but I wanted to comment on the festival itself. I was surprised at how well this show was run. The chill-out building was great - providing shade, fans, decent restrooms, and some seating. The variety of food vendors was a pleasant surprise as well. I assumed my options would be limited to nachos and hot dogs, but it was much better than that. I do have a few suggestions for the next festival. - More consistency with your policies: One spot on the website said backpacks were allowed, but another spot said they were not. One security guy let my daughter's friend take in an empty water bottle, but another security guy made me throw mine away. I saw many people in the festival with prohibited items. I don't mind following the rules, but be consistent in how you enforce them. - Allow water bottles. Even if you don't allow water bottles to be brought in, you should allow people to have the bottle they spent $4 on rather than pouring it into a cup. I can't stick a cup in my pocket and sip on it over time. I realize this is for perceived safety, but plastic water bottles are not the same safety hazard that aluminum beer bottles are. Plus, you sold those tall plastic cups that people were throwing, and those were much more dangerous than a Dasani bottle. - More seating options. The chill-out building and the food area needed at least double the seating. I assume you deliberately did not have folding chairs for safety reasons, but you need to find some other option. - The sound tent was too large and in the wrong spot. I understand the need to cover the equipment, and I know position is important, but the tent blocked the view for the bulk of the open area. Move the tent 50' to stage right and line it up with the food vendors, leaving the view from the large open area less obstructed.

Ended up getting VIP. Everything was great until I saw the VIP area to watch the show. It was so far back from the stage and looked more like a dog kennel than VIP. A lot of people left and didn't stay for guns n roses since they thought VIP was shaded and had seats but they couldn't stand the whole time. Highlight was from an employee named Rebecca. She was amazing.

I bought these tickets for my husband for V-Day. We traveled from Lubbock, TX. Should have taken us around 6 1/2 hours to get to SA but it took 8 due to the, much needed, heavy rain. Everything was perfect. Ok, I lied. I would have changed the beer prices and added more restrooms. That is my only complaint. The bands were on time and we never had to wait for another band to start. Anywhere we stood we could see the band. We left early Sunday morning to come back to Lubbock to watch some of the same bands rock out at the Big Purple Party hosted by Lubbock's Rock Station 94.5 FMX and Some of West Texas FINEST dj's WES NESSMAN, THE ROOSTER, DRIVER & HEATHEN

Deftones is my favorite band, hands down. Seeing them live for the first time was just the most amazing experience. They killed it, man!!!! Me and This guy I was standing next to were just rocking out so hard. Singing along to every single song they played. One of the best moments of my life thus far. Overall, the entire concert was awesome. Shattered Sun was new to me, but dude, they really rocked! So did killswitch engage and black label society. The rain and the sun was probably the perfect balance. Couldn't have asked for a better day to call in sick to work! \\m/

As the saying goes you get what you pay for and we didn't get enough and in an organized manner for VIP. VIP is meant to be exclusive, lines were too long and the workers were unorganized. VIP needed to be set at a limit, way too many folks in VIP section or not enough workers to tend to VIP. Food was great and drinks were generous but they fell behind constantly. By all means I'm not even mad because of the weather that was to be expected. Poor VIP experience was not.

25 awesome rock bands all in one day! There were vendors that sold liquor, beer and food so there was no need to ever have to leave. There were probably 30 porta potties that ran out of toilet paper within the first hour. I'd recommend paper towels or napkins in your pockets. I've been to a lot of concerts and I'll definitely be going back next year!

It was a great event overall... My complaints are that Security was a pain they dint let me pass with my backpack when for other events like warped tour i had my backpack no issue at all, the beverages and the river city rockfest t-shirts were too expensive... $45.00 for a rivercity t shirt come on...!!!!!!!!!!!! And it wasn't even good quality there were some guys at the parkinglot selling tees and theirs looked waaay better... for $25 step it up guys... and the two main stages were too far... other than that good event

Premium package was worth it for the parking, viewing area and clubhouse lounge area. Premium clubhouse was better this year...might consider more food and drink options. Also need to have some ventilation or a/c in the restrooms and facilities .... stifling without any air circulation ...way to hot, very hard to breathe. Never got cool.

I thought the shows were great and the entire atmosphere amazing. The only thing I would have an issue with is that is was too damn hot and no shade was available. I would have at least get some fire hoses and spray the crowd with water to cool people down. I'm surprised that more people didn't suffer from heat exhaustion during the day.

Music wise the day was great, with a good variety of hard rock and heavy metal bands. All performances that we saw from start to finish generally went off without a hitch. We most enjoyed Offspring and Three Days Grace but I wouldn't say there was a bad performance during the day. Having purchased Premium tickets, I was a little disappointed by the set-up at the main stage, with limited seating options in shade that had a view of the stage. The set-up at the second stage was much better. Also, I was disappointed that the only food available in the Premium area was if you had purchased the most expensive package that included a lunch and dinner buffet. If you did not buy that then there wasn't even a counter from which you could purchase other food. You then had to go wait in the long lines on the complete opposite end of the park for the various food options there. Definitely not a premium option in my mind!

While the festival itself was well planned and laid out with plenty of things for everyone, easy parking, moderate lines, plenty of space... the lineup itself was just OK. Papa Roach blew the roof off an outdoor festival... 3 days grace was good, buckcherry and Godsmack. I don't get Def Leppard being the headliner. The Under card bands were very obscure. Previous years even the side stage bands were top names like Hellyeah, THC, Avatar. This year is was Dorothy, Norma Jean and a host of others I hadn't heard of. I noticed too the crowds at those stages were thin.

First of all, I would like to say this was an epic show. The lineup was amazing and each band gave a great performance. My major gripe was having no time between artists. With two stages, it was near impossible to catch every song. I wanted to see the last three sets in full, but lost the opening and closing songs from the Offspring. The other thing that could be improved, would be to have more food vendors or better organization. I had hoped to get something to eat, but didn't want to sacrifice any live music. Those minor issues aside, I would recommend this show to a friend and cannot wait to see the lineup next year.

Ok Def Leppard was outstanding. Shocking, I know. But apart from the music, I paid almost $1,000 dollars for two premium "Rockstar" passes. This comes with all kinds of goodies. Premium parking with a dedicated entrance, indoor areas, 10 free drinks with each ticket, lunch, dinner, a free t shirt, etc. The premium parking was in "Lot 6", as it said on the tickets. It was not awesome to pull up and find that lot 6 was blocked off, nobody could park there, and every person we stopped to ask could not tell us where the premium parking was. In fact, they had no idea there was premium parking. They also didn't know there was a dedicated entrance. We had to park VERY far away, and we couldn't ever find anyone to tell us where the entrance was, so standing in line in the 98 degree heat was our destiny. I won't ramble on and on about this. The bottom line is it was a great concert, but I could have gotten that with a much lower priced ticket. I would not recommend the premium tickets based on my experience

Bands were awsome but River City Rockfest needs to be held either earlier or later in the year. Standing around on hot parking lot with no shade in Texas humidity is miserable. $10 FOR BEER AND $5 FOR WATER IS RIDICULOUS. It was an experience but will not be going back.

Was so glad there was free water refill. Love that!! Lots of potter potty with sanitation stations. I thought they had a great line up of bands. Was extremely hot maybe they should think about creating some shade with mist like the bud light station had in the middle so people can refresh themselves. Food location was great. The entrance was far but good. The exit should have been on the opposite side so people won't be walking on the street the way we were.

Rockfest was incredible. Every performance was unforgettable. The only complaint is that there wern't any water stations. Instead water cost $5 a bottle. Since this is Texas, you have to be prepared for the heat all day. I couldn't believe the lack of shade and the cost of the water. This was my first festival. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have been (not-so patiently) waiting to see Linkin Park live since I was around 15... I'll be 28 in November. It was worth the wait! The circumstances never lined up until I moved to San Antonio... 3 months ago. It was like they showed up in my back yard ❤️ The atmosphere was great and every band did an outstanding job. A close second to my obvious favorite were a group of kids playing from a rock school. I don't remember their name but I had a great time listening to them play more classic rock.

The Bands set were great as even choice of bands of each stage was amazing, few complaints as more of an issue of timing, as timelines were not being followed to be able to watch all bands as planned once Volbeat came out times were more inline, Scott Wieland band sound kept going off and on, the guy can't catch a break lately. Anthrax was at top of their game and should've been on the main stage with crowd it drew and popularity. The staff was pretty professional around the grounds and very helpful, water ran out early with no back up plan to supply more. Traffic control was very good and well coordinated.

I've been a Linkin Park and Papa Roach since I was in 4th grade. For years I've dreamt of seeing them, and now, at 20 years old I finally got to see BOTH bands perform at the same venue and stage. I had the time of my life. Plus, many more bands were featured. Volbeat are one of the most underrated metal/rock bands; I promise you they're great and they're one of those bands that are all about the fans. Same goes for Linkin park and P. Roach. They interacted with the fans and delivered KICKASS shows. They played classics and a bit of the new stuff; it was a good event. The only bad thing was the heat and the fact that they weren't allowing us to keep the bottled water. We were supposed to keep water in cups... Which was really inconvenient and painfil as you couldn't keep water stored. Nevertheless, the bands and music were just WOW.

The River City Rockfest was my first out of state festival. The venue was nice and open with plenty of room to wander. There were four stages throughout the place and each had someone one I wanted to see. So we were always walking to and from catching bands the entire time. The weather took some getting used to being from San Diego, but even getting rained on for ten minutes during Seether didn't ruin the fun.

FFDP, Kill switch engage, deftones, black label society, couldn't ask for more! Ffdp killed the stage! Their performance was over the top and sentimental. Killswitch pumped the crowd up. Deftones brought it home. Couldn't ask for more!

The line up was great but it was too hot outside. Three Days Grace rocked their performance and I definitely enjoyed watching Norma Jean. Pretty Reckless was the one band that I would never want to see again though.

Well, I got the Premium Roadie package to specifically avoid any crowding issues, but even then, the minute you left the reserved areas for premium ticket holders, it was a chaotic, hot, sweaty mess...almost 100 degrees, some shaded areas, but no shading near the stage. I do NOT appreciate the fact that alcohol was cash only, get with the times San Antonio!! However, what saved this review are the bands, and they were all great, the stage was at least relatively viewable (so long as a giant wasn't in front of you). I know that rowdy crowds are just the way these things are, but for Christ's sake, you have AT&T center right next door, why not make THAT the main stage, and let folks go outside for 2nd tier acts?

My disappointment has almost nothing to do with the music. Near 100 degree temperatures, on an asphalt parking lot and a captive audience to scalp. Unless you showed up only for the late acts you literally put your life in danger. There was not enough shade to protect yourself from the heat. Bottles of water selling for $5. Even at $3 a tidy profit could have been made, but no it was $5. Public water sources were baked in the heat and undrinkable. Had re entry been allowed you could have escaped to your vehicle to cool off for a bit but this was not permitted either. This might have all been even a little tolerable had this been an amazing musical event but that fell short as well. I primarily attended to see Buckcherry and the Pretty Reckless and was surprised that each did only about 5 or 6 songs. So not worth it. My recommendation is save your money and see the bands you like individually.

A lot of great bands but it was brutally hot. They should have it during a cooler time of the year. The lines were long to get in and they need more food trucks.

I have gone to this festival for a few years I appreciate how the venue has added more staff to go through the crowds with beverages and offered more seating areas and options to stay cool. However, the ticket process has made it difficult to get in especially with system issues that took place.

The event was great, but perhaps next time get a bigger headliner. I'm not complaining as I had a blast overall. But I have to admit, I was leaving after a song or two from the headliner. Great move with the water station and the portable restrooms were good.

Lots of great music but normal hot as hell in Texas! Should have been more water cooling stations. The VIP experiences were WAY overpriced and you didn't get much for the cost -

The line up was wonderful, all of the bands we wanted to see sounded amazing. This is our 4th year at the event and I do not like the way they rearranged the stages or the inside of the building. All indoor restrooms were closed off, there were enough port o potties but in the hot humid weather it was disgusting. The was brutal this year. It may be our last with the new set up.

The line up was great. Godsmack and Def Leppard was amazing!! It wasn't as hot as it was last year so that was great. It seems like there were a lot less venders than last year too. There was a big section for chairs which was good. My only complaint is that smoking shouldn't be allowed or create a section for smoking. With the heat, the body heat of others, and then the inconsiderate people blowing their smoke in the crowd was horrible. It makes it harder to breathe and enjoy the show. People bring their children to this event as well so they shouldn't have to put up with the cigarette and weed smoke either. Other than that rockfest was awesome. I can't wait to go next year!

Great show! Only issue was super expensive concessions. 5 dollars for a small bottled water is way too much.

This is an outdoor venue with no shade except a metal building with no air-conditioning. The temperature the day of the concert was 97 with a heat index of 108. They were charging $5 for a 12oz bottle of water. People were passing out left and right from the heat.

too hot to have on pavement in May in Texas. Should have been indoors at ATT Center. Medics were busy with lots of heat related problems.
