The opening bands on this tour were just that, opening bands. I thought Oceans Divide Blew the others out of the water hands down. Cold was INCREDIBLE. It was an amazing show with a wide array of songs from different albums and a fair amount of new stuff I can't wait for. In a time when a lot of people go to shows expecting bands to sound like their cds, Cold delivers time and time again. You would not be disappointed spending your money to see them live ever. I've never had a bad time at a Cold show, and I look forward to seeing them again.

Missed the opening acts, but Kopek rocked and got me as a new fan! Egypt Central totally pumped the crowd up to where they needed to be and played phenomonally well! This is the second time I've seen Cold and they didn't disappoint either times. Awesome band and just right on key. Good energy level and just rocks :P

I had never seen the band perform live before, and I was with a hardcore fan. We had a fantastic time seeing that band perform, and the venue was nice and small. We ended up front position center and could feel the sweat of the musicians. It was totally awesome. A MUCH recommended show, and I will hopefully see them again after this :)

This concert was amazing, Taproot definitely pumped up the crowd, Minutes to Twelve was amazing. They stayed after the concert and chatted, did autographs and so on, The Killer and the Star was good, and Cold was simply amazing. We asked for more songs from them, and after they left the stage, they came back and performed two or three more. The only disappointing thing about this concert was that it ran overtime and I know that Cold usually stay after to do autograph signings. :(.. Maybe next time. Definitely a great concert. Memorable.

Fateless
'From Anatomy of a Tidal Wave' to 'Sick of Man', Cold took the stage and delivered song after song to a devoted and mesmerized fan base. Far from a carbon copy of their album recordings, the band held longer on guitar solos and changed lyrics at will to fit the night. They also hung the microphone out for a few shouted lyrics from the audience. A small venue which fits Cold perfectly.

They put on a good show. Until some random guy went up to the band with tears in his eyes and ask to sing a song with the band because it was his birthday. I didn't care for this part of the show.

I have seen Cold live many times. They always put on an incredible show. This time was no different. They played most of their best songs and a couple from their upcoming album. They sounded great and kicked ass. I always try to see them when they come to SoCal. The opening bands were good too. Most notably the opening act, Oceans Divide, rocked the house. I had never heard of them before the show and was blown away at how good they are and how good their music was. Oceans Divide definitly made a new fan that night.

Oceans Divide was the first band, and one I never heard before. They were great. Next two bands sucked. And when Cold came out to play, it seemed as if no one wanted to be there. I understand that they lost someone who was with the band, but what should have been a powerful show instead became an unemotional and flat performance. House of Blues was good, and for the first time people weren't up my butt spilling drinks on me.

The bands before Cold weren't good and then Cold seemed to rush into playing all of the songs and I would have preferred a different set list but it was okay...just not great. There were three fights too and a bunch of idiots trying to mosh....who moshes to Cold??? Not really sure...I've been to a lot of metal shows and there haven't been any fights so I didn't think there would be one at this concert let alone three...The first time I saw them at the Alrosa Villa, they were a lot better. Hopefully the next time will be more like the first...

i'm not a big fan of the venue but the concert was alright. i didn't expect to wait so long for Cold to come on stage considering that the concert started at 6 and Cold didn't get on the stage til 11. usually they're very fan oriented but this concert seemed pretty scripted :(

I've been a Cold fan since they started. First time I had the opportunity to see them was this weekend in Hartford CT at The Webster. I see a lot of shows of all types. After listening to the opening acts, Egypt Central, Kopek, Oceans Divide, and the biggest surprise of the night, The Elements Around Me (newcomers making their debut performance), I really thought Cold was a little off. Guitarist was having a real issue early on and kept switching out axes during the song which seemed to piss scooter off. He was on the floor adjusting something for half a song. Scooter seems a little weird to me throughout the evening. He mumbled between songs almost inaudible. His vocals were a little quiet as well. To his defense, I thought the music was a little too loud compared to the vocals at first. I then thought that they did this on purpose because they know he was off. He, at one point squinted his eyes and kind of shrugged his shoulders, almost to say to himself "well that was ok, I guess". I think the smoke break and the walking off stage at the end mentioned in other posts is just the way they are. No big deal. They did play a full set Friday, took a short walk off and came back almost immediately upon the screaming of the crowd and played an encore. All in all everyone was happy and got their money s worth.

Music was awesome! Scooter seems to be having some issues reuniting on stage though. He seemed very unconfident and almost mumbling between songs to make the typical singer comments. There was no power in his voice when he spoke. Singing was different story.....no issues there. Just my observations. I hope that he is OK mentally. I know that he has been thru a lot in the past few years! I assumed that when Scooter announced "smoke break", that we were about half way thru the show. Once Cold took the stage after "the smoke break".....a few more songs were played, Scooter Ward left the stage unannounced, with no thanks or acknowledgement to the fans, and as the final song was wrapped up by the rest of Cold, they put down their instruments and also walked off. There was disbelief that the show was actually over....and seconds later the lights came on & a closing act was announced!

Well let me start by just saying they sounded really good, but they only played maybe like 10 songs if that. They played nothing off thier first album wich is my personal fave. They went on a cigerette break after like a few songs came back did like 2 more and then straight up bounced. I thought they were just messin around but they never came back n the lights came on. In my opinion they should b thanking thier lucky stars that they still hav fans that drove like an hour n a half 2 c them n maybe put a lil more effort into their performance. I for 1 will not b rushing 2 c them again anytime soon. I think its pretty bad when the opening bands put more of an effort into the performance than the headliners. I even bought a t shirt i want my money back

The opening bands were awesome!! I highly recommend Kopek. The opening bands were not only great musicians but great performers. However I was a little disappointed in Cold. They are a great band, but their live show isn't that amazing. They aren't showmen. They sounded amazing, but they sound amazing in their recordings too and there wasn't much difference in the two. I want to be wowed at a live show and I just wasn't. The venue was awesome and you should check up on the history and the Vampire before you go might make it a little more interesting :)

This is the first Cold concert I've ever attended, and i was definately not disappointed. All of the opening bands were incredible and Cold did an unbelievable set. The first band was a group out of southwest Florida named Deception. For a relatively unknown band, they definately rocked the house. The second was a group out of Washington named Oceans Divide. I was completely amazed by their performance. The emotionality and energy was incredible. Third up was Kopek, a band hailing from Dublin, Ireland. This band's singer, Daniel is one of the most gifted songwriters and singers I have ever heard. Also, they had an energy level that was through the roof. Fourth was a relatively well-known group by the name of Egypt Central. I was already a fan of this band, and i was not disappointed. The singer had an awesome sense of humor and a great sense of crowd interaction. They also performed their new single "white rabbit", which was awesome. Last up, was Cold. This band has been my favorite for years. This show was the first on this tour, and I can tell this is going to be a must see tour for anyone who is a fan. This is the absolute most incredible show I've ever been to. After the show, all bands stuck around to sign autographs, take pictures, and meet fans. if you are a fan of any of these bands, or just good alternative music in general, get out to this tour.

The first two opening acts, Deception and Oceans Divide, actually pretty good. Kopek was wretched. I could not stand the guy's vocals. He sounded so irritating. Egypt Central was awesome! Cold was really good too. However, I was most irritated by the crowd. They showed no energy, tried to light up cigarettes whenever they could, even though the venue is a non-smoking venue. They were all a bunch of druggies. They really were not my type of crowd. I also did not like the late start time of the main act, Cold. They did not start until 10:30, when the show(s) started 6:30.

This was the last show in the 40-some date tour. I didn't know that till I arrived. I showed up late during the band Day of Fire. They were good, but I came for Cold. Nonpoint came on next and played the three radio hits I recognized and a bunch of others that seemed to be crowd favorites. However, almost half of the people in attendance were only there for Nonpoint. Once they left the stage, at least a third of the room left the venue. But I didn't mind, because it freed up more floorspace for me and my friends to enjoy COLD without having to be shoulder to shoulder with sweaty shirtless strangers. COLD played a great set. A lot of my favorites were missing, but I love all of their albums. I've been trying to see this band live since the tour for 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage, when I first heard of them. For one reason or another I've missed them every time they come through. So I enjoyed finally getting to see one of the most underappreciated bands. COLD played a great show and I got to enjoy their music live for the first time. They even played two songs of the forthcoming album. COLD is a great band and a great band to see live. I feel like they don't get the attention they deserve because their aren't heavy enough to be metal but too heavy for mainstream radio rock. I love their sound and they've grown as a band as I've been growing up. Each album gets a little more mellow, but the lyrics and music gets exponentially more talented. I can't wait to see if their new album is a continuation of that trend.

For a sunday night and a show that started at 6:30 for the main band to come on after 11pm sucks! We had to leave before Cold came on because we have jobs and a kid at home and cant be out all night on a sunday. If I had known this ahead of time I would not have bought tickets at all. I was figuring main band around 9 or so at the latest. Maybe less than 3 opening bands and a longer play time for main band would be better Maybe. this is the main reason I hardly ever go to shows at Northern lights. I want to see the show I payed for, not wait around for 5 hours. Nonpoint did play a good show and other opening bands were fine too. I guess the price is good also to see 5 bands. Altough I would have easily payed $15 or maybe more just to see Cold.

Was very unimpressed with this show. i have been to see Nonpoint a few times and they always put on a good show but this one was lacking. Maybe because they have been working on a new album or what i am not sure but i will give them credit cause they rock! but i think it might have been the local venue for having a bad PA system or the fact Cold headlined the show! Who is Cold? They had one song, years ago! the opening bands were not good, Nonpoint stumbled and Cold should not have been there!

All three bands did a great job. Nonpoint was excellent at getting the crowd pumped up. I got there when the doors opened at 7, and was standing the entire time waiting for Cold, and I have to say- I'd do it all over again in a minute. I've never been so pleased throughout an entire show. The only 2 complaints that I have is that all of the band's mic's needed to be turned up... and Cold should've played longer than an hour since we'd been waiting for them for 4 hours. Cold did an amazing job- no disappointment in their performance at all. And kudos to the bar for separating 21 and up from the rest of the crowd- it made the experience even better. Overall, great place, cool people, AWESOME music!!!

Very disappointed in Cold. I'm a big fan and they haven't toured in NJ for a long time so I was very exited and bought tickets the day they went on sale. I almost fell asleep and me and my 3 friends left their set early because it was very clear that they did not come to play. Nonpoint was fantastic! I had never seen or really heard them before but will definitely get some of their music and absolutely see them again! They had the crowd going nuts......and then unfortunately Cold came on. They had no enthusiasm and I guess maybe because of how psyched the crowd was during Nonpoint, Cold was exceptionally mellow and blah when they played. I think they would have a chance of being huge and playing MSG or something if they put a little bit more effort into there performances...oh well. I will not be going to see them again though.

I am extremely excited that Cold is touring again so I didn't miss going to this Starland Ballroom show even though it was on a Thursday night. I was surprised by some of the openers. Downcast Theory started. The lead singer didn't have the best vocals but they had good energy on stage and seemed to keep getting better with each song. They are real metal. Jaded Faith came on next and they are a motley crew. They have a short blond chick singer - very sexy; a bald guitarist; a HUGE drummer who kicked ass; and a tall stringbean bass player. A little funny in terms of image, but the singer has both charisma and chops. Edison was next. They were a little more emo but pretty good. Two of their songs really kicked ass so I'll have to look them up at some point. Then came Day of Fate. I met the bass player at the merch booth as soon as I walked in and he was a real nice guy but I had never heard of them so I decided not to part with my money and buy anything until I heard them. Good decision. They aren't bad but they were definitely not the right kind of music to open for Nonpoint and Cold. I think they were from Tennessee but they sounded like Stone Temple Pilots on Robitussin. Too slow and almost put me to sleep. Nonpoint was co-headlining and played about 12 songs including Endure, What a Day, and Victim off Statement. Other highlights included Rabia and, of course, Bullet With a Name. The only bad song was In the Air Tonight. I think Elias was expecting the crowd to sing the whole thing for him but we didn't know enough of the words, or care to hear it at all actually. The lackluster performance on that song didn't damper the great energy the guys had and a kick-ass set. It was my 6th time seeing Nonpoint and they are always amazing. Cold took forever to get their sound and their video projector set up and then the band finally took the stage. They played a good mix of old and new songs and Scooter interacted well with the crowd and kept saying he loved us and appreciated us. I love Cold too but I have to say that their sound was horrible. They were way too loud and that might not have been a problem if it wasn't all low-end bass and guitar. On many songs the lead guitar got buried and you could barely hear the vocals. They sounded like they were playing under water. They sounded much better the last time I saw them but it was still worth seeing and I hope that they continue to make music and tour together.

First and foremost, the venue they played at is my favorite, so that added a few bonus points to the review. However, I was not impressed with this show for two well known rock artists. The opening bands (I believe 2 locals bands) were actually better then Cold, and Day of Fire rocked. I was not familiar with this band before coming to this show, however I must admit that for the energy they brought to the concert, they have gained a new fan. Nonpoint was on next, and they played a good mix of their classic/familar songs such as Mindtrip, Bullet with a Name, The Wrecking, etc. and some songs off their new CD. Overall, a good mix but the acoustics had to be adjusted a bit as the guitar and bass were way too loud and caused everything just to sound muffled in the venue. But overall a decent performance, C+, B- in my book. Finally, Cold came on and absolutely destroyed the energy in the crowd. It was almost painful to watch as they went from Stupid girl to some crappy emo song. The crowd went from mosh pits with Nonpoint to just standing around with the occasional headbob. Absolutely, terrible acoustics and more then once, the speakers feedback caused people to screech and cover their ears. Normally this would be acceptable for the first song or two, but the entire act was like this with a very weak set list, terrible acoustics, and overall just a lack of energy in the crowd. A D performance at best.
