It was a Friday afternoon, so I do not think it was as crowded as it possibly could be on a Saturday or Sunday. The family always goes on a Friday to take advantage of the $2 dollar specials - rides, games and carnival food!!!

My wife and I drove over a 100 miles to enjoy this event. We saw 1st Rodeo play in The Hanger and the band was AWESOME! If you enjoy good home grown all American 100% made in the USA country rock and roll music then 1st Rodeo is for you. Check them out on Facebook and "like" the band page Their music is down home hard driven country rock and the band was so tight they squeaked! The fair overall was fun and we had a great day it was well worth the drive.

The O C Fair has become a major event in the past few years. It is a quantum leap better than it used to be - the entertainment and also the food. It is a bit pricey though . . . I have to admit. The drinks were definitely too expensive.

The OC fair is great! It's not so big as the LA county fair so that your legs don't give out before you can reach your car in the north forty of the endless parking lot. In fact, the OC fair (on weekends) will give you free parking in a covered structure and a free shuttle to the fair so you don't have to walk far. Admission is a relative bargain when you compare to the parks like Disneyland and Knotts. If you bring some of your own food and drink (in plastic bottles only) you can forego the expensive fare (pun intended) unless you have a real hankering for chocolate-covered bacon. The Peking acrobats were great, as usual. The music was great, and free. The police dog show was fun, the booths are great, and the people-watching hilarious. A full day's entertainment on a budget. Gotta love it! Oh, and buying your tickets online for no fee was also great!

The best part of the fair was the ice museum. The art work was AMAZING! It was also a great way to cool down from the scorching OC heat. Watching the Chainsaw Chicks sculpt live was pretty impressive as well. I also enjoyed watching the Peking Acrobats (free live entertainment). I didn't like how expensive the food and rides were. The bazaar they had was fun to peruse through and had some inexpensive items (such as earrings for $1). All in all, if you avoid the expensive food and rides, it's still possible to save. P.S. Remember that if you arrive in between 10-11am, tickets prices are only $2-4. My group purchased our tickets online for $11 each...we sure learned our lesson for the future.

Frim the variety and number of food booths to the cleanliness of the grounds themselves, it was the best fair ever! Our grandaughter was mesmerized by the baby chicks and piglets and cheered the Asatian pigs on in the pig races. She was totally exhausted at the end of the day with lots of great memories, as were we!

Overall, I enjoy going to this event every year. Even though it's smaller than the LA County Fair, I actually like it more. The food is great, and it doesn't get as hot there as Pomona. I wouldn't recommend going the 1st or last week of this event since it attracts the most people. Try going either the 2nd or 3rd week.

I love the OC Fair, at least the part that is really the Fair. I love the art that moved - the flying birds were neat. I want one for my back yard! The Alaskan Racing Picgs were great and the host was pretty funny. He kept calling the pigs, "The Athletes." Loved it. The dog show Jump! was pretty boring. The guy talked too much between what was basically the same Frisbee catch over and over. The best part was waiting while the starring dog took the longest dump on record in the middle of the show. The host needs to watch the pig races and take lessons. The parts that were the Fair itself were fun. My grandson loved feeding the animals, cows, goats and lambs. We loved the nice big pond with Koi fish. The awesomely fun bug exhibit with giant sandbox for the kids to play in was a nice break for parents to rest up with benches all around. I would also recommend going early in the Fair schedule - the first couple weeks - while the judging and competitions are still going on. There is more to see. BUT, The carnival part was so extremely expensive it would have been a joke except it hurt too much. Bringing my young grandson and having to say he couldn't ride things because were couldn't afford the tickets hurt. If you spent $40 for tickets you could maybe get 3 rides and those were the sucky 60 second dark rides or the suoerslide. The ferris wheel was 12 tickets and at 50 cents a ticket that meant it was 18 bucks for 3 of us. (Two adults and a 3 yr old) Any other good ride was 10 tickets or $5. How ridiculous is that? You can try to avoid the carnival area but it's hard since it makes up more half of the Fair area. There were no reasonable priced food options so bring your own if you aren't wealthy. $10 for a turkey leg was the best deal we saw because at least it fed two. Everything started at $10-15. Even hotdogs and hamburgers. We brought our own water bottles but had a hard time finding places to refill them. Be sure and get a map on the way in or even better, look one up online before you go so you know the lay of the land before you get there and can avoid the carnival.

Wow! This place is really fun and great! A wonderful place to go with friends and family! BUT, you spend a lot of money there....even if you're only riding the carnival rides. And, the employees are all pretty much grumpy and don't look like they really care. Other than all that, it's a great place and has lots of interesting attractions like the Ice Sculpture Museum. :)

while the event is fun to go to, the cost for a family of four is prohibitive. The food is too expensive and the cost of the rides is ridiculous. I think the event could raise more money through more sponsorships and that should be passed down to reduce the cost for rides and food.

Disappointment! How true! From the very first line you were made to stand in to the very last line you stood in, the whole event was poor\u2026 Food was very bad (at least what my friends and I had) The exhibits seemed like they were the same as last years, everything just seemed tired and old. The only real highlight was in the wood working exhibit where we say a beautiful Kayak. Maybe next year they can get some new inspirations and make this event exciting and special!

Began the night having Chicken and Waffles, YUM! Walked around snacking Dippin' Dots and shopping for jewelry and purses. Watched Pat Benatar rock it out on stage with her talented husband! Sang along with hundreds of fans and held up our cell phones (like a lighter) during one of her beloved songs! Topped off the night with Deep Fried Kool Aid, Thin Mints, and Oreo cookies and went to bed with a tummy ache! It was a fabulous evening! I would do it all over again!

The OC Fair is a great place for people of all ages. Everyday is packed with entertainment, food, games, rides, you name it! However, I strongly advise you to plan your day out FIRST. So, before you go, look up the event schedule online. See what shows or exhibits you are interested in seeing, then create a schedule that allows you to see as many of them as you can! (You may not get to see them ALL since many events run at the same time and overlap-which is good because it shows you how many options you really have!) If you don't plan out your day ahead of time, you'll end up going there and spending all your money on games and rides and food. To play games and ride rides, you need to first buy tickets. Tickets are $20 for 40 tickets. To give you an idea of how long that'll last you.... You and your friend are at the fair.... 2 tries at balloon dart game = 5 minutes, 14 tickets 2 rides on the wild mouse ride = 10 minutes, 24 tickets 15 minutes pass, and you're already down to 2 tickets! you and your friend each played one game and went on one ride, and now you're down 20 bucks. The games and rides are money pits, but the neat exhibits are totally worth it and make the value of your ticket seem like a huge bargain. Ice sculptors, animation demos, acrobats, singing, dancing, hypnotists, barber shop quartets, petting zoo, galleries, shopping... you can even have your picture of you sitting on an elephant!

Food overpriced (hit or miss) and so are the games and rides no surprise. Its definite one of those events to go and look and eat and let the kids ride a ride or two and check out the animals. I do admit it was fun we'll see how this compares to the LA co fair. Check it out once or just go for the food.

As an annual event, we go to the OC Fair for the food and Exhibits. We have been going for over 30 years and look forward to it. It has changed very little, except there are so many more food choices than ever. We always go for the fried zucchini and the Fish & Chips place which has been moved to the Centennial Farm area. Used to love the 10 lb buns but not as good as they used to be. Also love the lemonade and bacon wrapped fire roasted jalapenos filled with cheese. It's a little pricey, so expect to spend $50 for two people if you share. But I still love it and recommend to all because there is so much to see and enjoy.

I haven't paid for entrance into the OC Fair for at least 10 years, so paying to get in on July 26th was a first for me in a long time. I ONLY paid to see Chef Robert Irvine, and I was NOT disappointed! He is the funniest, most out-spoken, straight-forward, sensitive, genuine person I've seen in a long time! It was well worth the wait time, the un-comfortable seating, and the inability to go sign up for the raffles, just to see Chef Irvine, I plan to do it again in November at Anaheim Grove! Great deal OC Fair, if you do it again in 2013, I'll be back, but only if you have Chef Irvine =)

The fact that you pay for parking and admission to the fair so that you go inside and get ripped off by the product vendors and the food vendors is unbelievable. This isn't the nice hometown fair it should be (or use to be) it's just one big mega ripoff!! And the food isn't even that great!!! I'll have to think long and hard about going to the fair next year!

Chef Robert Irvine was great, he had me laughing the entire time. The fair was disappointing. I thought the food was was over priced, $4.75 for corn. The games were ridiculous, one attempt for $5. I was hoping to see craft vendors but had to look very hard to find non commercial vendors. On the flip side the contest winners displayed entries were interesting to look at, I just wish I could have sampled some of that pie. All and all I would not go to the fair except to see a featured show. If you do go to a show be sure to get there early if you do not have assigned seating because they fill up quick.

Overall, it was super fun. The only thing that suck is buy the tickets, luckily I bought my ticket online and skip all the waiting. Food options were plentiful, my suggestion is going thru all the park and see all the food vendors and make a final decision of what you want to eat. Best time to go is at night time because it can get too hot, the only hassle is finding parking though. Games were a little too pricey, they need to cut some slack on that.... or maybe I am just too cheap. Great fun times and food and entertainment. Came home with a toy giraffe ;D

This year was pretty much like all the others - not much has changed which can be a good thing I guess. I really liked the new Hangar where we could hear and take a glimpse of bands playing. The only bummer for me is the food seems to be getting worse! I get it's all American food (burgers, bbq) but putting aside the crazy chocolate covered hot dogs which I guess is okay to talk about to people - I was disappointed in the rest of the food. It's the same stuff in every corner - isn't that one of the main reasons in going ~ to pig out and try different things? OC needs a little more flavor. How about some of the catering trucks that have been all over LA lately? There's been better food at small local fairs that have had random catering trucks like Piaggio. Or larger one's that have King Taco. Not like I want it to be hipsterville @ the fair but it would be nice to maybe have a corner with some authentic foods - maybe even some hippie organics. I understand the fair wants to play it same but it's almost a reflection of how much of OC is. I hate to say it! But I'll be back next year! ;-)

My mom, my 5yr old son and I loved the fair. There was something for all of us. Rides and farm animals for my son. The shopping for my mom, and the music and beer for me. We all enjoyed all the food and loved the weather. Sunny with a nice cool breeze. My son loved all the art stuff to do, making leather braclettes, watching how to milk cows, getting his face painted, listening to the music shows, the dragon show as well as the camp area. He loved the circus and the budwieser horses. And he climbed the rock wall for the first time. We had so much fun we went twice. Great times had by all!!!

I've been attending the O.C. Fair for many years now and, as always, the fair was fun and the food delicious! Getting my fair tickets through Ticketmaster always saves me time and waiting in long lines.

As always, my family & I enjoyed the fair and all it has to offer -- good food, lots of animals & exceptional works on display by local bakers & craftsmen. My only complaint is that there are just too many people there. Next year will try not to go on a weekend!

Too crowded; rides and games were way overpriced and food was awful!!!

I love the OC fair. I bought tickets to a concert and was able to get in for free. Than after the concert was able to go back in and ride the grande wheel. My favorite ride there. I hope next year I can do that again.

It was a fun afternoon and evening. The displays were intresting and well layed out. There were food booths galore, a bit to the expensive side, but good. There wasn't much variaty in the animal displays (rabbits and goats) but those were good. Great rides!

fun for all, a little expensive, but it's only one time per year! Very clean, even the bathrooms (what a pleasant surprise!!)

For the money you spend, might as well go to Disneyland.

We started off with Three Dog Night in concert. That was great. Returned twice after that. Buying passes next year. Keep it up. The OC Fair was very organized and the food we tried was surprisingly good.

Loved the Orange County Fair better than the L.A.Co Fair.

The OC Fair might not cost that much to get in but they ream you in the price for beers/cocktails and rides. Over $10 to ride one ride and beers are $12!! Do they really have to charge that much??

Such a fun evening at the OC Fair! It was our first time going as a family. I was most impressed by the clean conditions of the fair grounds. Good, clean, all-American fun!

Even if Fairs are not your thing, you ahve to love the OC Fair. It is by far the cleanest and classiest of all the Fairs I have visited. The exhibits are innovative, the food is as crazy as Fair food is expected to be and the concerts are amazing. I ahve seen Train, Matisyahu, Pat Benetar, Rick Springfield, Chris Isaac and Duran Duran. Highly recommended!

We went to the fair because admission was free with the purchase of our Huey Lewis & the News tickets. What a miserable disappointment. Yes, there were a few rides, but mostly the fair was filled with "games of chance", expensive food, and trash EVERYWHERE. The SMOKING was horrible. It was like walking around in a giant ashtray. I will never return to the OC Fair.
