Burning Spear

Great environment and smiles on almost every face. We enjoyed our "date-night" evening at the Hollywood Bowl. All artists were vibrant.

For Burning Spear's final performance in Los Angeles he gave a wonderful vibrant showing. 80 years young Spear hopped up and down onstage beating the conga drums like a young turk. He made the evening memorable and we were treated to a heartfelt renditions of his great catalog of meaningful and soul stirring music. The historic nature of the performance was not lost on both the audience and the veteran performer. He ended the night on an upbeat and rousing note. One that we will never forget.

Reggae at its finest! World peace would prevail if everyone could have been at the Bowl Sunday night listening to Spear's powerful message of one love. Sad to imagine this legend not continuing to tour and to give the world the opportunity to really feel reggae's message personally and masterfully as only he can do. Thanks Hollywood Bowl for hosting the show and giving Spear a suitable and beautiful venue to deliver an awe inspiring performance for all of us humble listeners to savor and cherish. Thanks, Winston Rodney, for sharing your incredible gift with the world throughout this lifetime. As you say yourself, you ARE a true original. See you in the hills! Irie!

Spear was on fire!!! The location was iconic! I even got backstage because of Kevin (the GM at the Hollywood Bowl) and Rudy and was able to get my Marcus Garvey album signed by Spear!!!! How incredible was that!!!!

At 71 years young, Burning Spear's inspirational founding father (Winston Rodney) totally rocked the Hollywood Bowl last Sunday night with his timeless lyrics, super tight band and heavy reggae rhythms. In short, Burning Spear's performance was Epic!!! Hard to believe that Burning Spear's journey began in 1969. See this band whenever & wherever you can!

Great venue and Burning Spear was great. Wish he would have played longer.

The concert was amazing, but the crowd was lame! I was cheering so loud cause I was loving the show, but I didn't feel the energy from the people. This was also my first time at the venue and I thought it was all great. I wish I would of known you could bring your own food and alcohol to the venue.

The show was as expected for his is an excellent and original reggae artist whose music has not changed and no gamicks. This was his last performance in California, and for a 71 years old performing since 1969; he has not lost any steps.

Burning Spear is an awesome performer. The seats were the best. An excellent time was had by all. The Hollywood Bowl is the best venue to see a concert. Imo. Thank you

Mr. Winston Rodney is a reggae legend above anyone alive, and people constantly try and compare him to Robert Marley, and you just cant. Marley had 12 good years to make music, and his family has taken it into an empire, but Mr. Rodney has been an independent reggae artist fighting to maintain his independence for 48 years in an ever-changing and cut-throat business. Any venue that is lucky enough to have him should take him at ANY price and ANY conditions as he will not be playing too many more shows. I've seen every show of his for the past 8 years, and many before that, and I'll travel to Siberia or Easter Island if he plays there, because he's that good. I convinced many people not to walk out of this event after whatever Marley (Kymani I think, but who cares) played before him was done, because the real reggae legend was about to play and they should be lucky enough to experience that live, and I'd traveled 3,000 miles and spent $1,200 for my husband and I to be in LA for 18 hours just to see Burning Spear. I'd do it again 100 times. His music is the most roots you will ever hear. Anyone who gets to experience a Burning Spear show, I don't see how they can't be forever changed by his music and message. My heart beats to the tune of Burning Spear. Never heard anything so pure, deep, and true in any form of music in my life.

Hate to say it - loved seeing him 15 years ago - but time to hang it up Mr Spear. Weakest Reggae Night I've ever been to. Very disappointing!
