the show was very slow and tiring in the start.....took someone that did not remember the band from our youth. probably would have left if there was not another couple with us. second set kicked AZZ. Enjoyed hearing the their music and then their rendentions of a couple Zep songs.

This was a fabulous concert! The band is so fantastic, the music was awesome, and the guys rocked the house! Zebra is the greatest rock "secret" - powerful music and lyrics and a whole lot of fun in the mix! Felix, Randy and Guy not only put on a great show, they genuinely love their fans, and the fans feel it and return it ten-fold. The excitement was palpable as they took the stage and rocked until the very last minute! I've been a die-hard Zebra fan since 1976 and have followed them religiously ever since. It was my honor to see their 35th anniversary concert! And to be present when they were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame was such a great moment. The guys were so proud, and I was so proud of them! They are the greatest! Zebra forever!

Overall it was a good show. I unfortunately was expecting better. The Mahalia Jackson Theater is a great venue and acusticly ideal for music. The issue during the Zebra performance was that the bass drum level was so high that it actually drowned out the guitars and keyboards! I've seen Zebra many times and they always put on a great show, but this one was hard to listen to.

I have to admit that I was more than a little upset having to wait an hour for Zebra to start the show. Maybe because there was a lot of family and friends in the audience, regardless, i have seen many concerts in my day and never had that long a delay. BUT, they won me over!! What a show-they are such good musicians and showmen. Guy was exceptional on drums, his drum solo made us think of Neal Pert and Randy's vocals and guitar was dead on. Felix's ease on bass, keyboard and vocals was evident. They did an accoustical set for 40 minutes, took a 20 minute break, then it was rocking for 2 hours! Okay so I have never waited for a band for an hour but I also have never seen a band for 2:40!! Congratulations to Zebra on being inducted to the LA Hall of Fame, they were presented the certificate during the show. Thanks for a great show

I have seen Zebra numerous times over the past 35 years. First one at St.Christaphor CYO and was hooked ever since. Each show I saw was great, Zebra would come out and rock the stage interacting with the crowd. This the 35th Anniv. show Zebra interacted in a way I never seen or just don't remember,( whiskey & beer can do a number on you). Randy told little stories on how he got the idea for some of the songs he wrote.Though this was interesting. As always Zebra played with great intensity. The only thing better would be if they put out a DVD of the show. Saw about 2 or 3 people filming it. Possibality, I hope so. HAPPY 35th ANNIVERSARY ZEBRA . Keep Rockin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall It was an excellent show! I was not expecting acoustic guitar for the first forty five minutes or so.... However things picked up and they were inducted into the Louisiana music hall of fame. They incorporated rock n roll with jazz with a three piece horn section from New York, it was amazing, Zebra has a Free show in Grand Isle LA in September 2010 to help the local economy, it will be worth the trip.

It's fair to say I am a Zebra fan, having seen them probably a dozen or so times since the mid-80s. So, I knew what I was getting, musically. However, despite this being a 35th Anniversary event, held at a real Theater, there was no professionalism at all from the band. They were over an hour late in getting started. There were no obvious technical difficulties to cause this. Rather, there seemed to be an endless stream of audience members strolling across the stage and behind it. There was no information given to the crowd as to the cause of the delay; no information at all in fact. Zebra walked on stage at about 9:05 as if nothing happened, and then said "It's Randy's fault!" OK, things happen. No problem. To atone for the late start, they played a 35-minute set before declaring it was time to take a break. But don't worry, they'd make it a shorter-than-planned break. Ridiculous. They were treating this gig like a family reunion. They had a lot of friends and family in the house, and I really felt as though they were taking advantage of us. When they declared "break time," several of us had had enough and headed for the doors. In our case, feeling pretty ripped off.

I'd seen Zebra last time they came to BB Kings, but this show was almost non-stop rock n roll. They played every song I could think of that I was hoping they'd play even though some of their songs had little radio airplay when the cd came out. Besides Who's behind the door & Wait until the summers gone, they also added Can't Live Without, etc. All their great stuff. The took it up a notch on their Zeppelin encore set. A full Kasmir play, and really outdid themselves on Whole Lotta Love. An absolutely awesome show. And the sound on my videos came out decent, including pictures. The meet & greet after the show was icing on the cake, which I have pictures of the band and myself.

Great concert! So glad that Randy, Felix and Guy are still playing together after 35 years. They put on a fantastic show. Only reason for the 4 stars was that I really was not impressed by the acoustic set at the beginning of the show. I've seen Randy's solo acoustic gig several times and it is more enjoyable to me. However, once the boys "plugged in" the show ROCKED! Even the addition of the brass section was an interesting twist. AWESOME guys, keep on rocking for another 35 years!

I don't get the 40 year claim at all. they are my age and I don't think they've been playing since 10 years old but they do kick ass. I always loved this band and grew up on them. They were the hottest live band there was on Long Island and yes even bigger at times than Twisted Sister. Back in the day they kept playing their originals and somehow everyone knew every word and this was without hearing them ever on an album or CD or even the radio. WBAB played them on occasion but that was it yet you couldn't get in to anywhere they were playing. No advanced ticket sales, just a long line which you had to wait on. One of my favorite bands live back in the day. Now seeing them in 2015 I realized the simplicity of their songs and how they were edited to be singles that just never made it. They tried and when they finally made it on to MTV their video sucked while Twisted Sister ripped through the country with their hits blowing Zebra into the dust. They were really good, go see them if you were a fan, you'll get a thrill out of it. I recommend them highly..

in the recent days of 2014, i have seen Randy Jackson perform many times. I have even seen Felix at a couple of band shows, but when you have them two and you add Guy into the mix they are an equivalent of a modern Led Zeppelin (with as much talent as they had "in their hay day"). i think that if Zebra had an idea to go in the studio and crank out a few songs you may see the hardest working band make history !!!

Youth Be Told wowed the crowd with their combination of Rock classic covers and powerful originals. Zebra was amazing, playing their crowd pleasing originals with Guy Gelso's pounding drums and Felix Hanneman's bass and keyboards backing Randy Jackson's amazing vocals and jaw dropping guitar rifts. Zebra is one of the most underrated bands of the 80s. They have 4+ albums of great material and if you ever have the chance to see them live, take it. I have seen Randy Jackson's acoustic shows and they are awesome but finally getting to see Zebra live was a long awaited event. They put on a great show. My only complaint was too many opening bands. The opening bands were great but had long sets and Zebra didn't get to take the stage till 10:30pm. Other than that the show was awesome. Will see them again if I get the chance.

Zebra put on a solid performance Friday night, working through what was obviously some difficulties with the sound board and their on stage monitors. Randy Jackson is still able to hit almost all the high notes. The drums were the most powerful I had heard them, as this was the fourth time I have seen them since 1988. What I appreciate most about Zebra is regardless of the audience size, I have seen them sold out in LI and with about 80 people at a NJ Festival in the late 90's, they perform with the same amount of enthusiasm and respect for the audience. They were clearly having difficulty with the on stage monitors as roadies had to come on stage numerous times, but Zebra took it all in stride and never seemed to get annoyed or distracted. The venue, Bergen PAC really needs some work done on it. The show was well worth the price of admission.

What an AMAZING show! I have seen Zebra many, many times before and this show blew me away. Their first 90 minutes or so was a set of their own material and it rocked so hard that the foundation began to crumble. All three guys sounded unbelievable, Randy's guitar was great and his voice was indescribable, Felix's bass and keyboards were, as always, perfect and Guy's drumming was perfectly on point as shown during his off-th-cuff drum solo during "The La La Song". After the first set was done, they took as small break and returned for set #2 which was ALL Led Zeppelin songs! All I can say is that the this set caused the crumbling foundation to give way and they leveled the place, figuratively of course. Guys, thanks for another terrific performance and I'll see you soon!

My second time at this venue, and bad mix both times. Bass moved air, but the bass line itself was barely audible - had no tone. All guitar in front-of-house spkrs, very harsh. As for the band, all clearly excellent players, but band as a whole was loose. Guy has chops, but drums too busily. Felix goes back and forth between playing bass gtr, and playing bass on his keyboard - when on keyboard you really miss the bass gtr. Randy still hits the notes, but tired out and cracking before the night was over. But i you like Zebra it's still a show worth seeing, cuz they genuinely want to put on their best show, and you never know which show will be the last.

Starting the concert a whole hour late was ridiculous. We saw Randy in the lobby at 8:10. The majority of the audience was middle age and up (we are 62). Loved the first part but after break were ready to hear our favorites from first album. Our grandsons were bored; we became bored, too and walked out. Paid almost $1,000.00 for 8 tickets. The band is still awesome but we were disappointed. The sound mix was terrible; couldn't even hear the horns and we were about 20 feet away from them. New Orleans diehard fans deserved and expected much better.
