Formula Drift

1st time at this event and I took the younger sibling. We both had a blast there, and will be planning to return for next year's season at Long Beach.

The event was amazing! There was so much going on and the drivers are great! Having the open pit was a great way for everyone to see the amazing work that they do! Only reason it's not 5 stars is the venue needs to remove the assigned seating and just have assigned sections!

The event was better than I was expecting. I was sick on the day of the even, and I was debating whether I should go or not. My boyfriend talked me into, and I am so glad I went. We had a blast, and are thinking about going to the Las Vegas one!

It was my 1st time and The event was incredible so many cars and also you can meet the drivers and take pictures of all the cars before and after the races I really like it and I'm going 2 the next one in Las Vegas...

The event felt it was being rushed. And the drivers don't seem to be into the race.

Way too many people in way too small of a space. We had good seats (second row center on the end of the aisle) that was the only saving grace. The food & drinks were limited to one area. You had the choice of three stands; BBQ, CPK, & a taco/burrito stand. We opted for the BBQ $10 bean & rice bowl. The pulled pork was big & good, the tri tip was alright but, not enough meat. We also imbibed in $9.00 Coors light at one of the two stands. The bathroom lines were very long and there were not enough of them. The hand washing station ran out of water before the end of the first round of races. There were a lot of concession servers walking around and they seemed to appear right at the race cars came by making a better door than window. (duck) The video coverage was very good and the announcer was very entertaining. Overall I would say you get a better feel of what the drift racing circuit is all about but, I prefer the drift racing "demonstration" put on by the drivers on Sunday at the Grand Prix.

car show was a bit of a let down but the drifting was amazing.

Formula Drift this year was the best! So much action and weather was perfect!

Long Beach 2017 was a city engulfed in burnt rubber as the drift titans went head and head to start off the year.

The first 11:00AM-1:30PM was light to moderate rain - causing the cars to slide/spin uncontrollably at times resulting in some moderate damage. Some cars were taken out of contention due to damage. The water caused zero tire smoke to be emitted - a big part of Formula D. To the drivers' credit, they were revving in neutral alot to keep the excitement up. Fortunately, the final round begining at 3PM was cloudly but dry - and the trademark drifting with the tire smoke, loud engines, and tire squeal were back in fine form. We saw rain in forecast 10 days earlier; if it had rained the entire race, it would have been considerably less fun. We got lucky on this one.

Great Event!, Wished more companies where there at the event, but still a great event. Illest always have a great show set up with their beautiful cars. I won free tickets for this event though instagram, thanks again, I always come with a group of friends and will bring newbies to next year event. Love meeting the pros and amateurs and just chatting with them. Thanks guys for setting the venue and keep up the hard work!

This was my first time attending a Formula Drift event and it was even better than I could imagine. I sat in grandstand 24 which wasn't the best seat in the house but also wasn't the worst. I was able to see the last two corners just fine and the rest on the big screen. Grandstands 16,15, 21, and 24 are the best, I would also recommend bringing a hat ( a decent sized hat, be mindful of the other fans ) and some sunscreen if you plan being there all day. I got there at 9am and was able to find parking, some advice the early bird gets the best parking. If you are early enough to watch practice and sit in 24, 25 you could get a chance to watch from the fence and take some nice photos or videos, once the event starts that area gets packed. Make sure to have your ticket with you because the ushers at the grandstands checked mine and I almost threw it away. There was plenty of time to check out the cars, booths, shop and check out the car show on the side. If you love motorsports or awesome cars and driving then I would highly recommend this event. If you're thinking about bringing your kids I would say go for it, I saw a few there, just a heads up the food is a bit pricey and the cars are awesomely loud. Overall I would like to go again next year and I also plan on seeing the Red Bull GRC in September. Last piece of advice, I highly recommend you get there early and buy the tickets early.

tge event and venue are great! The Gandstand 24 is the place to be. The seats are reserved so no worries about rushing to your spot. My only reason for not giving a 5 star review is because the lack of parking attendants. This was my first time going, so I had NO clue as to where to find the entrance. This sounds like I don't know my way around, however half the streets are blocked off and NO signage was provided to indicate where to walk after you park you car. I wasted 45 mins just finding where to go. Once I did, the line to get in was stupid think and long. There was an extreme lack of organization for this. I hope they find ways to improve! My .02 is: Please provide signs out in the parking garage that indicate where to find the main entrance for the event!

It was my first time going to the Formula D event. I was having so much fun everywhere. I like that the cars are open for anyone to view and touch. I met a couple of drift racers and was stoked i talked with them!

Awesome event. Car actions in the closed streets. Great events and sponsers out there. Lots of sports cars for show and the races..

This was my first time experiencing this event. Formula drift was without a doubt a great event to be involved in because it doesn't induce anything bad at all. It's an amazing way to spend the day. Watching all the professional drivers and their cars motivated me to fix my car a bit as well. But WOW everything was amazing .!!! My boyfriend and I loved this event without a doubt.!

Was allot of fun. Tons of people. The drivers put on a great show.

My first drift race and definitely not my last. The crowd was fun. The view was lovely. And the racing was intense. Best experience. I would recommend anyone that is interested to go! No doubt.

There is no event like Formula Drift's in Long Beach. As soon as you park, you are greeted with nurmous modified and styles rides from others attending as you park. Getting tickets is easy and clear especially if you pick up your tickets through will call. Your excitement builds as you hear and see the pro's cars drive though to the starting grid. Once you get into the event, it's censory overload! Loud music, cars and women, and it doesnt stop there! The event itself is so exciting to see drifting first hand. Formula drift captures the essence and entire aspect of drifting and the hella flush car culture! The only downsides for me is how packed the event is getting. Space is tight!

The overall set up of the track was pretty spectacular, the length and major turns allowed for excellent view angles of all the action. Aside from the heat beating down on you there was not a shortage of refreshments or stands to take care of all of your needs. This is a car enthusiast dream, lots and lots of cars and everything car related and not to mention the beautiful marketing girls. overall for the price of the tickets and the amount of entertainment, this will always be an incredible deal hands down. So why wait for funn drift out of your routine and find some funn.

It was definitely an experience I would certainly would like to have again. If I were to recommend seats I'd recommend grandstands 16-18. 24 is where I sat, but I didnt sit in the third row, I sat all the way to the top. Looks good from there but it's not a good seat because you're too far.

Lots of high speed action for auto racing. Great fun.

So awesome! The event was a blast. Loved being able to chat with the drivers and their crews. Look forward to irwindale.

If you love engines revving, cars drifting then you'll love Formula D.

Formula Drift was Exceptional like always, set up was good. Only recommendation is better food venues.

One of my favorite events of the year. Wall to wall action, great cars built for performance and style, open pit. Fun friendly environment.

Great show and super cool that you can go through the pits and see all of the cars close up. Had a bad location for the big screen to catch the replays of the runs but other than that a good race and lots of fun.

Formula Drift was awesome and it was intense and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time with very good wholesome professional racers competing for the podium spot and giving it their best, been a fan for years and it always surprises me with unexpected outcomes.

I have waited 6 years for a field visit in Korea. Long Beach ... I wait a long time, and I don't regret coming from a distance. Watching Long-Beach Formula drift was my dream. I think I'll go back and live a happy life. Thank you. I strongly recommend

This had to be the best season opener of Formula Drift! Not only is it the 15 year anniversary since FormulaD started, the tandem races for round 1 were absolutely incredible!

It s always great going back to FDLB, it s a sneak peak of how amazing the rest of the season will be. The competition gets more intense every year.

This event was so fun and family friendly we will be going back next year

Mostly younger adult crowd. Many vendors that sell parts, shirts, rc drift cars, etc. that you can look at on the breaks. Porter potties available. Food vendors there to purchase food but not many places to sit and eat unless you go back to your seat. Bring sunscreen because no shade available.

This was my first Formula Drift and I would definitely go again.

I recommend for anyone to go to any Formula Drift event. It was so fun and entertaining and the one i went to was autocon as well so i got to see even more cool cars. Take sunblock though.

We had a really good time. Weather was perfect, races were intense and the racers were friendly and accessible.

First off I've been going to formula drift twice a year for 6 years. Irwindale and Long Beach. The seats are always ridiculously packed there's always some jerk in your assigned seat, it's astronomically expensive for anything and to be honest FD has gone so main stream they took it away from what drifting really is. If it's your first time and have never seen highly competitive drifting. Go. Try it out. If your like me, you probably won't go again. I'd rather BBQ at home and watch the live stream.

This event was my first drifting event. It was so awesome and fun.

this was the first time at this type of event. I loved it and I was actually really surprised to see so many families there since I was not expecting that. we loved our seats and even though it was raining it was still a great event. Definitely planning for next year.

Formula D is AMAZING!!!! This is the third time I have been to this event. This location is ok, my favorite place to go to Drift is ATL. Orlando was not very good, but LBC was better than that. I would totally recommend going to see at least one drift race event of the season, its fun, exciting and its totally addictive. I CANNOT get enough of it.

Long Beach formula never gets old! Its still my favorite even out of the whole year in California. If you have a love of cars, you got to check out this event. Its different from your standard race. My first experience was at long beach last year 2015, now i go every year..first in long beach then the last round in Irwindale. Experience this event at least one time, im sure youll love it!!

If you're an enthusiast with drifting this show is a must go/ attend show of all time in my personal opinion!

Awesome venue- loved every minute! Choose stand 18 - it's the one judges view from and certainl worth it. Lots of technical driving needed and it was fun to see how all the drivers handled the rain.

The drift and event was amazing but there was people not seating in the correct spots and there was nobody to handle or take charge of this.

great event would invite friends and cousins over.

It was 100+ degrees both days. And not having organized parking or employees made the experience less pleasurable. Outside of the parking and actually getting in, which was another huge line with no coordination, it was awesome. You could see a lot of the drivers roaming around the area and whatnot. You can meet the drivers too. My boyfriend and I were able to meet Mad Mike and look at his car. He was attach a cool guy and very down to earth. There was good food and many cool vendors. You get to see the drift cars and other independent drivers too. Get some brand car parts for discounts too. When it came to fudging our seats, no one knew where we had to sit. No one was able to direct us. Honestly, this place lacked so much organization that it was kind of a buzz kill, but once you get past where you don't need employee help, it was smooth sailing. Would recommend to go back again, but there needs to be better organization.

The event was really fun except it seemed smaller compared to last year. I've been to these events and have noticed a huge change in them in the past years. One thing I've noticed is now the vendors charge for everything. They use to give out alot more stuff before. The ticket prices keep going up but the event seemed smaller. If it continues to go up in price I'm probably going to stop going. They should definately do ride alongs. These events are alot of fun but if they continue like they have in the past few years many people will stop going. One thing my friends noticed was there was less models that attended too. Please bring more models like they use to. It makes it a funner environment with all the cars.

Drifting competition was great, seats were great - line to get in not so great, and lines for food/drinks not so great - they need a lot more food vendors. But overall Awesome Day!

From the point you get there it's non stop excitement. Your heartbeat is fused with the beat of the cars and really unbelievable. First time there and it won't be my last . Just keep in mind to bring some refreshments and a small cushion for your butt , it's gonna be a bumpy ride .

Had a fantastic time at the opening round of Formula D on the streets of Long Beach.. The sun shone and the competition was amazing. The only downside was a tree blocked about half of the big screen but from where we were sitting you could see most of the track anyway but we couldn't see replays and other video clips. The stands weren't numbered and the stewards showing people to their seats didn't know the numbers of the rows which led to LOTS of people sitting in the wrong seats and lots of distruption when people figured it out.

I've come to this event for past 3 years. First time I felt this was a waste of my money and time. The service was horrible, people controlling the section said he couldn't get our seats cause somebody was already sitting there. I paid $15 extra to sit somewhere but was instead standing, while somebody that paid $30 for standing room only took our seats. When we asked somebody else that person instead tried to get our seats. But it took him more than an hour for him to be able to convince the people sitting there to move. Then when we finally sat down, the view was horrible. We couldn't even see the jumbo screen to the right of us. Very unpleasant experience.

Never a dull moment the whole day. My kids love going here every year...that's why we keep going.

The first of the Drift season. Speed and smkoing tires, what more could you want !!

I bought my tickets online for an amount of $120. The people outside the event could see the same as us. These seats were over-prized to not see ANYTHING! We left right after the first round with the thought that we will most likely never come back in Long Beach to see this even. Way better (and less expensive) in Irwindale speedway.

I have been to a FD event before in Irwindale, California. I thought that the Long Beach event would be more amazing than Irwindale, but in my case it wasn't that much great of experience, yeah the trip show was amazing which I love and why I go there but the whole overall experience wasn't that great with the vendors,and others. It's seen not organized as a sense of everything seems

Cars show, vendors, food, booths were good. My seats were horrible. I sat all the way in the back of the track. Couldn't even see the cars go thru the track. The tv that showed the cars drifting they the track was half angled towards our direction. The view with my eyes was blocked by a bridge that crossed over the track. I got a better view leaving early and standing between the hotels, next year I won't bother buying tickets. Ill just go to a nearby hotel and watch for free.

the racing was exciting but the 3 plus hours betwen the to32 and the 16 was way too long. it may sell a lot of beer but is just boring for the fans. that is why stand are mostly empty in the top 32 which was the most entertaing. I f you are interested in racing see the top 32 if interested in seeing the winner don't show up tell 2:30

Formula Drift is a blast I've gone to 4 races and plan on going to many more in the years to come

This was the very first drift event I ever attended and I enjoyed it very much. Im defenitely attending this event next year...

Took my girls to this event for the first time. She had a lot of fun and we had really good seats.

The only complaint I have is I wish I would've been able to sit in the seat I actually paid for.. My husband, my son and I were not able to sit in the our spot, we asked people to move and no one did so we ended up sitting on the grass In front of the screen..

Great event, lots of fun for car enthusiasts. Many great vendors. I've been going to this event for a couple years now and it's always a good time. Seats weren't that great this year, grand stand 24 is definitely not my favorite.

each drivers pit area is wonderful. makes the experience more exciting being able to see the vehicle repaired and tuned to perform!

Except for the overcast and cool weather had a blast at the event. This is the second year in a row have attended this event with my daughter. We will be back next year!!!!

Weather was great. The drifters were amazing. and the car show was really good.

The traffic control getting to the event was awful with almost no useful signage along the route. The directions to the main gate were just as bad. However, the worst offense was the layout of the track and seating. At other locations the race is actually visible, but at this event the vehicles could only be seen for a very short portion of the race and the track layout was such that there was very little drifting taking place. The infield was littered with stands and banners that blocked visibility from most locations. Having attended events at other locations I'd have to say the Long Beach layout was the absolute worst.

Great experience- especially at this long beach location.

Took my son and his friends. It was awesome! We met Jonattan Castro from the Dominican Republic. We took pictures of a lot of hotties, bought some t-shirts, and got free stuff! We plan on going to the October competition.

I really enjoy watching the drift cars, the drivers are spunky and exciting. However, I heard they had changed the scoring to make it more understandable to the fans, when I feel they should have left it the way it was. There was way too much time between the runs and the decision! Left us scratching our heads!

This year was too dope ! Kind of bummed that Mr.Powers wasn't again to strut his game on the track. As well as Joon Maeng I was stoked to see him drift as well since he did qualify totally bummed his car gave out :( But over all great Event scion racing booth never disappoints with their free goodies !!!!!!

Unbelievable!!! Any automotive enthusiast should go to this event no matter how old or young! They have the best of foreign and domestic cars, roaring V8's and turbos obliterating tires in clouds of smoke! They also have plenty of custom cars and high end cars on display(E39 E60 & F10 M5's, X6M, R35 GTR's Ferrari F430, Limited Edition 1 in 600 GT3RS 4.0, Plenty of AMG cars, also plenty of American Cars-Mustangs, Camaros, etc...) You can also walk the pit lanes of the drifters and see the actual drift cars on display, and meet the drivers. Pretty amazing!

Pro drifting at high speeds? This is always a blast and always sells out. Sick venue and a good time!

My Friends and I had a blast at the opening of the season for Formula Drift Long Beach 2013. And can't wait till next year, I recommend these races to anyone that like fast cars. It is for sure a sight to see these cars go 80mph sideways around the track

This was my first year going to this with a great experience both days. Now I'm going to attend every year going forward. Got to meet a few drivers took pictures with the models. Great both days
