The play Annie was Phenomenal! The Cast was simply Amazing from the youngest to the oldest they were all Star Quality and put on an entertaining and professional Show! I was told some of the actors attended the training camp sponsored by the Children's Theatre and what a wonderful opportunity that is for them and others to take advantage of. This production of Annie was definitely Broadway Material and could be seen amongst the Best of the Best. Amazing vocal skills and stage presence and everything flowed so nicely. It was so nice to meet with the Actors afterwards it was a nice extra treat. I had taken my Cousin and her 4year old Daughter for Mother's Day and they both adored Annie as much as I did. Keep up the Great Work!!!!!

I had never been to one of these productions before. Loved it. My daughter and granddaughter attended with me. They were just as pleased. We are considering going to Hansel and Gretel. My granddaughter was so excited to get pics with the cast and get their autographs. It was great to see her eyes just light up.

My first time at the Lincoln Theater. It was very nice! I would definitely go back there again for another show. The production of The Wizard of Oz was professional and entertaining. And a real Toto that stayed in his basket the entire show!

The Lincoln Theatre is a beautiful venue, just the right size with great vantage points throughout. My two daughters were mesmerized by the performance of the great actors, colorful costumes and familiar storyline. I would recommend sitting back just a bit, as our second row tickets were a little close for our youngest daughter. The mix of child and adult actors made for a more interesting experience for our girls. The production was well orchestrated with live music in the orchestra pit and great visual effects, a la flying monkeys and Glenda the good witch entering and exiting in mid air. The actors meet and greet in costume after the performance, but the lobby is a little hard to get through--the only bummer. The two acts might have been a little better at 45 minutes each, as one hour for the first can be a trying expectation for little ones. All in all, a great afternoon and something I am sure my girls will remember!

This show was incredibly and artistically well done. The actors were well cast, the set props were great and the transition between acts accomplished smoothly and the timing of the humorous lines were good. Costumes were wonderful. Overall, just an incredible show.

I took my girls to see this play as a prelude to our Spring Break fun and it was a great kickoff to the week! Not only is the Lincoln Theater amazing, but the set, stage designs, and acting was out of this world! I enjoyed that the characters were true to the film and had the same inflections we've grown to love over the years; it was also quite a pleasant surprise to see Glinda, the Wicked Witch and the monkeys all "flying" on the set. We cannot say enough good things about this performance--it is definitely a must see!

The play was good. The actors were good. sensory and custom selection good. The signing good. like the spin on songs from the movie. Some of the jokes were borderline on appropriateness. There was a little bit more cussing in the musical than the movie. I would have like to know that, so I had the opportunity to example the context to the children who were in attendance with me as I am not their parent or guardian. The first thing the girls told their father was, about the amount of cussing there was in this play in comparison to the movie.

This was the first production that my two kids (ages 3 and 5) have attended at Columbus Children's Theatre, and my first reaction was, "WOW!" My expectations were not very high considering that the actors are children themselves, but these are no ordinary kids. They are an extremely talented and professional group of individuals, who no doubt have bright futures ahead of them. As for my own kids, they have done nothing but play "Little Mermaid" since the show. We will definitely be returning for future events.

The children and young adults did an amazing...... It was just like watching the movie, looking into signing my daughter up for fall classes. Everyone was polite and the interaction with the viewing children was priceless... Only complaint is the seating made it a little difficult to see, I understand the building is a little small and they are working with the space they have, praying for funding to expand the buiding for better seating and scholarships for any child who wants to attend and money to be able to travel to different event for free. Keep up the good work and stay focused.... God Bless

The show was great! The children's theater does a lovely job for these kiddos and I am looking forward to attending more of their show in the future. For this particular show (The little mermaid Jr) the songs were fun and the storyline was well performed. I am completely impressed with all o the cast, kudos to them. Logistical: This show was great for our kids (ages 3 & 5) - they loved it! The 60min length was perfect and the venue was family-friendly, warm and inviting. Parking around the theater was easy and not too far for the little ones to walk.

This was an OUTSTANDING production done by the "Pre-Professional" group at Children's Theater!!! It was fast paced, scene changes were smooth, casting was excellent and it was just plain enjoyable FUN!!! We've opted to attend more than once also as another reviewer mentioned, because it was such a great experience!! To "Penny" -- first of all, it is CLEARLY marked EVERYWHERE tickets are sold, that it is "recommended for ages 13 and UP"...not sure HOW you could have missed that...or else you just chose to ignore those warnings thinking your 11 year old niece would be "fine" and therefore it was YOUR fault you ended up leaving. Secondly, Children's Theater "Pre-Professional" show that they do EVERY summer, tends to be more for adults -- it's their tradition -- I know that's odd from a Children's Theater -- don't understand it myself -- BUT that's what they do. The third point is that "The Wedding Singer" is an Adam Sandler movie -- did you not KNOW that??? Thus, the musical-- based on the movie -- is PROBABLY going to be a little "rude and crude" -- given where it comes from!!! Anyway -- I don't think it's fair you rated the PERFORMANCE the way you did, given you brought an 11 year old to a "13 & Up" rated show!! I would HIGHLY recommend this show to any ADULTS looking for an evening out in Columbus!!!

Please note: This rating is based solely upon the fact that the play is not suitable for children. It is staged at the Columbus CHILDREN'S Theater. After leaving the performance with my 11 year old niece at intermission, I did research and there was an article in the Dispatch indicating that the performance is the only one of the year that is not geared to a younger audience. A reasonable person would NOT glean that from the Theater's available information, especially in the context of it's being a children's theater. My suggestion: A clarified description with a statement that this is recommended for ages 13 and up.

This was the most enjoyable play for children that I have seen so far. The Children's Theatre presents amazing plays both at their home location as well as outside venues. This one was no exception. The actors were amazing, especially the actress playing Dorothy. The dog "Toto" was also amazing considering all the noise, the jostling from actor to actor and being carried in unusual ways. The whole cast from the munchkins to the wicked witch, from Oz to the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man, all were spectacular! This was a must see play and I'm glad I was able to see it with my granddaughters (age 7 and 9) who also loved it as well! GREAT SHOW!!

So spot on!!! The Jr troupe just totally shined, with lots of comedy, spoofing, and energetic and utterly joyful singing and dancing AND...... roller-skating!!!! The dialogue was witty, the casting perfect, great leads for Sonny and "Olivia" and the whole "Greek chorus" ..... and our kids especially enjoyed the gorgeous Pegasus chariot, the crazy dancing Cyclops... and that Centaur who was dancing next to them too! We had two kids, almost 5 and 7, their mom, 35+, and we two 70+ yr olds just rocking in our seats!!!! We are so delighted and still singing those great ELO songs.....so wonderfully arranged for this show!!!.....Every event we have attended here has been super!!! .....This is our third one and we can't wait for the next one! I know how hard these children practice but practice doesn't make talent. The girl that had lead didn't have a good singing voice .The gentleman had a few different characters and when he was the teacher it Seemed he was over acting. I found it boring and long . Perhaps with a short intermission it wouldn't have seemed so long and wouldn't seem like the songs ran into one another. This being a musical I was surprised that this young lady was your choice - her singing voice was not good. The young man playing Sheldon was good. Great personality.

It was not a great show. But I feel some guilt saying that because I know it's community theater for children, and I know it brings joy to a lot of people. The set was lovely. The energy was high. The acting was just not great. The singing voices were strong. The orchestra, especially the lead trumpet, really needed help/more practice. Basically, it was what you'd probably expect from community theater. My 5 year old seemed to like it, but my husband and I drew straws on who got to leave at intermission. He won...

Very cute performance, loved how they took a very short book and made it into a play. My daughter (6 yrs old) really enjoyed it!

As a first timer to CCT, expectations were not especially high, but the West Side Story was a great surprise! Tony and Maria were very good, and the choreography was superb! We will definitely attend another CCT event.

This show is closing this weekend, but if it wasn't I would urge everyone to go see it! The performers were fantastic and the amount of young talent in this program was so impressive. Odette, who played Anita, is truly a shining star. She was perfect! A huge and bright future ahead of her, for sure. I also really enjoyed the performance by all of the Jet boys. Riff, played by Austin, was great. He grabbed and held the attention of the audience with ease and seemed so comfortable in his character. A-Rab and Action were fun to watch, as well as energetic. The choreography, casting, vocals, set design, everything! It was all A+ in my book.

The show was really fantastic and well done. Great actors and actresses throughout. The dancing and singing was well done and enjoyable. My only complaint is that I took my kids thinking it was be a version of West Side Story that's more appropriate for kids and it wasn't. It was long and pretty intense. Great show, just not one for your kids.

This is a stellar and thoughtful version of West Side Story and it appeals on so many levels; from the sizzling choreography to the showstopping numbers to the beautiful and timely ending (that I won't spoil here -- and if you think you know how WSS ends, think again. The director came up with a perfect visual to close the show). The cast is wonderful. The pace is such that it never lets up -- never sags. These kids and their crew got it right. I was truly inspired and loved the emotional palette of the this production. Tears, laughter and plenty of applause! It doesn't matter that this is not a Broadway touring company. It matters that it does what a great piece of theater should do -- and that is to move, inspire and delight.

CCT is a wonderful family friendly way to experience the arts! The actors/actresses for this particular play were high school and college aged and they were all very talented! CCT is a perfect way to enjoy theater while support a wonderful cause. We will definitely come back for another show!

West Side Story is an incredible story. Although written in the 1950s. We still struggle as a society with the same issues and need to be reminded of the same lessons. The casting of the production could not have been better. So proud that we have so much incredible talent locally. The dancing and blending of voices superb. The staging incredible. The acting swept me up and brought me to tears. Planning to go again. A must see. Thank you CCT

My wife and I have seen Cats on Broadway in NYC a couple of times and loved it. As this was a Children's Theater play with a great price, we did not know what to expect, but it was our grand daughter's first play and expected she would enjoy it. I have to say that we had a great time watching the play! The acting and singing were done with class and the theater has a very nice setup. Definitely planning on seeing more plays in this venue!

Saw CATS this weekend and loved it. I was impressed by the acting, singing and costuming. My first CCT production and I'll be back. Sat in the back row at the Lincoln Theatre and could see everything.

This was really a spectacular show. The cast, choreography and staging were just brilliant. The musical numbers were VERY professional. I would definitely recommend this show. One of the best performances by CCT yet, and they always do a great job.
