Not only a museum of the Woodstock festival, but a magical mystery tour of our past from the 1950's to the Woodstock festival. I truly enjoyed the films covering the protests, the politics, leading up to wanting only peace in the world. We certainly felt that peace, kindness, giving and most of all caring for one another - a time that will always remain in my heart and being at the museum brought the memories I always think about. Thank you!

The museum is a great experience. Worth ever penny. Tons of videos, exhibits, etc. If you were there in 1969 than this is a must see.

A unique museum, but grossly overpriced. Plus: If you go, plan to see the 21 minute film. Take time to sit in the magic bus, too. Minus: It is beyond crass that the museum's only exit dumps you into the gift shop. Culture as commodity. Vile spectator passivity. Ychh! The special exhibits vary; last year's on the Hog Farm, and also on rural communes were much better. This year, the Rolling Stone cover pictures reflected (and reinforced) the sexism of the era. As a boomer who was 17 in '69, it was instructive to be reminded of the tone of pop culture and the low status of women. And the Woodstock pictures seldom rose above routine journalism. (Hint: Save $$ - There is a discounted admission on show nights near showtime- check the website. However, understand that it will be more crowded if you choose this option.)

much better than expected. not only went over the importance and beauty of woodstock but also the history of the 60's. I really want my Uncle who attended Woodstock to see the museum as I think it really captured the spirit of the festival and had quite a bit of footage from the event.

About a 4 out of 10. Dylan's arrangement in concert made all his great songs sound the same old boring way, no one even recognized Like A Rolling Stone for the first full minute of the song. I want my ticket money back!!!!

We had a great time...the museum was awesome...all of the photographs, artifacts and information from such an incredible time in history! The story seems to unfold even more as you wander through everything on your "self guided tour". Just very cool....people all seemed so nice and helpful. Loved it!

We spent almost 3 hours at the museum. It was an amazing journey back through a period of time that is unforgettable for those who were alive during the time. It covers politics, fashion, technology, sports, family life, and of course music and Woodstock. Interactive audio and video kiosks are available throughout to allow you to go back in time and perhaps catch up on what you missed. If you haven't been there yet, a visit to the museum needs to go right to the top of your list of things to do this summer.

So worth the visit. You must allow at least two hours, better if you have more time to walk the grounds. The Museum is an incredible effort in preserving this moment in history. Excellent displays, excellent stories captured in video clips. Buildings are architecturally beautiful, grounds are well maintained. Added bonus if you are also attending a performance at the first class amphitheater.

I was expecting more than what was displayed, especially with regards to Woodstock Festival. Some of the info. was interesting but after attending the festival in '69 I thought there would more memorabilia, more personal interviews with attendees & musicians. Something that wasn't in the movie that offered up a different insight, viewpoint, etc. The items in the store were limited in scope, of all the clothes that people wore during that time period one would've thought some of those clothes would have been available with the Woodstock insignia.

This was our second time at the Museum; we spent 4 hours the first time and more than 3 this time. It is an inspiring and wonderful place which tells my story (Child of the Sixties, or the Woodstock Generation if you prefer) and brings me back home to myself. This museum is excellent in its creation, its mood, and in how it tells the story of the 60s. I plan to become a member, because it is so worth supporting. The special exhibits, both last time and this time, were also excellent. I can't recommend it highly enough. The setting is also fantastic--the rolling hills and views are so beautiful, the ambience of the property is wonderful. Bring a picnic lunch, walk the pathways over the hillside, and simply soak it all in.

It was a very easy museum to follow and learn what had occurred in the original 1969 gettogether. The museum was clean, bright well organized. There were a number of artifacts items of interest that brought back memories. The movies were highly enjoyable especially the surround sound while lying on the beanbag chairs. My fiance and I talke about our visit for days.l

It's a really fun museum that's actually very modern. There's more than just the usual pieces on displays too. There's videos with fun facts including one inside a Magic Bus in addition to a huge dome that displays clips from Woodstock in surround sound--think IMAX but 360 degrees...did I mention there's huge bean bags you can sit on and gaze up at the screens? There's exhibits on more than just Woodstock too but the Sixties in general. Since it was only built in 2008 it's in really good condition. The staff there was also extremely nice and helpful. When we went it was raining but the grounds outside and surrounding it are beautiful so highly recommend going in the late spring or summer. And they host concerts etc. too. If you love the Sixties and the music/scene of the time this is a must see...especially if you're in the Hudson Valley/Catskills area.

Beautiful scenery/concert at the venue where peace broke out in 1969 !!! Lady A w/ Darius Rucker & Thompson Square are a powerful & moving event that captures their music just the way it sounds on the airwaves. Bethel Woods is rated one of the top fifteen outdoor concert arenas in the world. if so then the other fourteen must be incredible. Spend the day here visiting the museum and watching a live performance. Worth the time to visit and experience history in beautiful upstate NY. Thanks to the visionaries who made this part of American culture find a permanent home here.

THE DOOBIE BROTHERS REALLY BROUGHT THEIR A GAME TO THIS SHOW. THEY WERE ENERGETIC AND TIGHT. THEIR MUSIC WAS GREAT. STERELY DAN (DONALD FAGAN) PLAYED WELL BUT SEEMED TO LACK THE DRIVE THEY HAD WHEN WALTER BECKER WAS ALIVE. ADDITIONALLY, THEIR SET WAS TOO SHORT AS I CAN THINK OF AT LEAST FIVE HITS THEY DID NOT PLAY. HOWEVER, IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER HEARD THEM PLAY FM, THE SOUNDTRACK FROM THE MOVIE OF THE SAME NAME.

We visited Bethel Woods, 48 years after the famous Festival. It was one of the most beautiful areas and appropriate museums that I have ever seen. Every view was spectacular. Every nook and space were so well planned and so appropriately designed that being there was just delightful. The grounds were amazing. So beautiful and well maintained. I plan to go again and I could not have been happier about our decision to go.

We did not expect such a large museum and wish that we had allowed more time. Maybe over romanticized, but we expected that. A lot of fun. Crowded parking lot due to event going on. You would do well to schedule your visit when nothing else is going on.

I was really impressed with every aspect of this museum and the overall exhibit. Having been to the Woodstock Music Festival myself, I knew the authenticity was accurate and the well-planned, thoughtful way it was displayed actually brought me to tears. The volunteer guides were so friendly and pointed out anything I might have missed. Do not miss the film at the end.........it is fantastic!

We were there to see Steve Winwood that evening, but my better half was in his glory as we went through the museum. The grounds are beautiful and it was an overall fantastic day and night!

Having been raised during the turbulent 1960s, I am well acquainted with the ups and downs of the era. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through the beautifully displayed sections of our history. The museum captures every aspect of what was happening in those days, including, of course, the famous 1969 Woodstock Festival. The volunteers who greeted us were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It was fun reminiscing of days gone by. I thoroughly enjoyed this, my second visit to the museum and would highly recommend that everyone who is able (the young and not so young) spend a day at the museum and make sure to tour the beautiful grounds.

We didn't know that the museum was so new. The number of videos was awesome, especially telling about how the concert became a reality. Loved the comments from people who attended and people who lived in the area. We had lunch at the museum, too, before looking at the Beatles stuff downstairs. Both barbecue sandwich and french dip were really good. Beatles photos were just an added awesome element. Loved how photos were in chronological order. Each was very special. Love the lads.

We loved the Museum and seeing all the memorabilia of Woodstock. It took us back in time. The 30 minute movie of Woodstock is a must see. It gave an excellent overview of the musical artists and what made this an historical event. The photograph exhibit of the Beatles was wonderful.

Loved the artifacts that were saved from the actual event called "Woodstock". Original 6 dollar tickets! The title of Aquarian Expo was news to me.....and it fits SO WELL 45 years later! Your museum staff is so knowledgeable- answered all our questions; very friendly! Really enjoyed the multimedia presentations- and the emphasis on all the positive things that happened during the event....unlike the press reports at that time which sensationalized negative things. Hope your displays continue to grow as folks clean out their parents' basements!

We were told that you could do the entire museum in 1 1/2 hours. We spent 4 hours there reading everything, watching all the movies, taking the tour, and visiting the special exhibit downstairs. That's how fascinating this museum is. For all those people that didn't attend Woodstock or weren't born yet, this is a great way to learn about the 60's and one of our iconic cultural events of all time, Woodstock. Not only was the museum educational, the volunteers at the museum were actual attendees during Woodstock. Talking to them and listening to their stories was special. After visiting the museum, we went over to the field where the event took place. It was surreal standing on the grounds. I highly recommend visiting this unique place.

The museum was wonderful as well as the grounds but we bought tickets to the Eagles Concert and it was tooo crowded. We usually buy seats for a concert but felt we wanted the feel of woodstock so we had lawn and we were packed in like sardines. I would have paid more to have less at the concert. Acoustics out on the lawn were awful. Eagles were awesome.
