Foster the People

Indie pop trio Foster the People came together in Los Angeles in 2009. The group is known for psychedelic, dance-orientated pop and rock which spans many genres. Their 2011 album Torches has sold over 321,000 copies and their single “Pumped Up Kicks” was the sixth-best-selling digital song in the same year, selling 3.84 million copies.

This show was great!!! I was highly impressed with their performance and their musical talent when seeing them live. Foster the people is one of those bands that sounds just as good live as they do on their album. Absolutely one of the best live performances I will ever see. If you would have closed your eyes it would seem like some one is playing torches from a crazy loud speaker. There is a lot of talent in this group. They'll be huge someday!

Although it took them a long time to finally hit the stage, it was a great show for the next hour. The group is so talented playing numerous instruments a piece. They had great energy and got the crowd involved. This is one of my new favorite bands and I tell everyone about them! I plan on going to the show in October and have already checked out the tickets. Highly recommend!

Great show for an up and coming band! We saw them in March at the Walnut Room and they keep getting better. The crowd really grew for this show and everybody was really in to the show. Looking forward to watching this band develop. The new album Torches is awesome.

This concert was great I have been following Foster the People for awhile now, so maybe I just got excited regardless, but I thought it was great even with just one CD out, they killed it! Anyone within the alternative world, definitely needs to take the time and spend the money to see them! They will be big before we know it and their tickets will go up. The opening act was a really awesome way to start the show. The 45 minute wait after that for the band...was SO WORTH IT! They have the best energy, music and stage presence. It helps that they're easy on the eyes too. I haven't went more than a few hours w/o listening to them on my iPod since I saw them because their music is ridiculously addictive. Foster the People (FTP) is incredible live. Not only does their music sound amazing, but they have so much energy and so much fun on stage. You can tell that they really love what they do and their energy on stage reverberates through the crowd. They are so talented bc many of them switch around with the instruments they play. Mark F, Mark P, and Cubbie are awesome, especially with the addition of Sean and Isom (who is my favorite to watch on stage) who joins them on tour. Of course, Foster is incredible beyond belief and has the best shoulder move ever. These guys were incredibly nice when we met them. We stayed around hoping to see the guys come out. They did and were more than willing to sign autographs and take photos. We even chatted it up with Foster. Try to see them in a smaller venue if you can. We saw them at Harlow's in Sacramento, Ca (very small venue) and again a few days later at BFD in Mountain View, CA where it was an outdoor stage. Still great performance, but more intimate setting was better.

Foster the People came out and did all my favorite songs. The venue was a perfect, small and personable room with the band in reach. The whole crowd rocked out the entire hour. I also recommend Grouplove who opened as well as We Barbarians. The whole lineup was amazing and every song sounded like it's original recording. Loved it.

This was by far the best show I've seen. Mark Foster is an amazing entertainer who is not only a sincere person but seems like a truly great guy! This was my sons first concert and I could not have asked for him to have a better experience. When Mark talked about our state and the fires, of course I was moved but that they passed the Fireman boots around was more than touching, it was over all classy! The opening was awesome! 'Miss You' was a great song to start with and to see Mark step out in the white suit and the way he dances was great! To see the whole band working their magic on their instruments was also great, they all are fun to watch! Also got to add that Mark's voice sounded amazing, I can't believe how deep his voice is when he speaks but how high he can hit it while singing. The performance was out of this world. Mark worked so hard at making the audience happy that I could not get enough. It is very clear he loves what he does and I have never seen a performer do it so easily. The encore performance was the perfect way to end this perfect night! I am jealous of the upcoming cities who get to see them perform!

amazing show and super appropriate line up. Mayor hawthorne and kimbra rev'd the crowd with perfect set timing, and Foster the people could not have had a better stage presence. They really used all the space they were given and gave everyone the photo ops they so desperately desired to their lil social networking hearts content. And im not just being biased because the lead singer is from san jose. Kimbra is a diamond in the fluff... a lot of music is fluff, but Kimbra has the passion that outshines all of that. Mayor Hawthorne thank you for bringing hall and oates to the young ins ears... forever greatful.

been to a lot of shows, this one had to be in the top 3 atmosphere wise behind prince and lady gaga. you'll have a lot of fun, so yeah a 5 in atmosphere department (they just have a constant barrage of ever changing gimmicks to catch your attention while they're playing), a 4 in sound (just like the album with a few minor differences that come with playing live). so yeah if you find yourself on the fence, believe me you should not hesitate.

I think the WaMu theatre was a great venue for their performance, there was plenty of room for me to dance around. At this concert they also performed new songs, which was quite a delight. As a first time concert attendee, this concert was absolutely breathtaking! the opening acts (Kimbra and Mayer Hawthorne) were just as enjoyable and of course Foster the People was SOOOOO AMMAAAZZINNGGG!!! I loved the venue, the amount of people was decent but manageable (even though my friend and i had to watch from the side, we got an impressive look at the performance!), and just everything was perfect! Im really glad i went and I realize now how truly talented Foster the People, Kimbra, and Mayer Hawthorne are! Thank you you guys!!!

I was excited when I bought the tickets. I was even more excited when we drove down to seattle. I was even MORE excited when we walked in to WaMu. But NOTHING prepared me for when mark, ponsi and cubbie walked out on stage. They were so amazing, and completely and totally awesome. Sound was off a bit for Kimbra and Tokyo Police Club, and Kimbra commented that she would have liked more room to dance around, but they were both fine. Could see myself really getting into Tokyo Police Club. Graham Wright (keyboards) was phenomenal live - really into performing. Foster the People were excellent. Fun stage design. Keep your eye on the "sun", a character pops out a few times. Mark F really moved around, playing to everybody, and ended the show with climbing into the audience. Cubbie also moved around, getting to both sides of the stage. Mark P has his drums set up so his back is to one side (and Mark F does the same for keyboards), so unfortunately some people will be looking at their backs. But the duel drumming is really cool. Merchandise is reasonably priced, $25 t-shirts, a really nice tour guide for $10. The zippered sweatshirt they have online for $45 was $40 at the concert, so treating their fans right.

I've been wanting to see FTP since their debut album. I've always heard they were amazing live but I was never able to say so for myself until Sep. 29. Hard Rock Live Orlando was a great venue to watch one of my favorite bands. There was lots of security which made me feel safe, especially since I went to the concert by myself. I had balcony seats on the 2nd row and they were amazing! I sat the whole time and was able to just listen and sing along to FTP and really enjoy the concert. The sound was great although the base was loud. I didn't mind it though because it didn't interfere with the band. I would definetly recommend this venue as well as FTP!

Mark Foster is extremely talented. He is a great entertainer moving from instrument to instrument and showing off his vocal range. He is very humble and showed surprise that so many people were into his music. He was very grateful and threw kisses to the crowd at the end of the show. It was a wonderful encore, too. I danced like mad the whole entire show with two cool people I met that were seated next to me. We were scolded a few times for leaving our seats, but the temptation to dance and get closer to the stage was too great to hold us back! These guys had a ton of energy and good vibes. That energy surrounds you, and keeps you moving with them during the show. I hope to catch one of their shows again next time, für sure!

Concert was amazing, wish I was closer!! One of the best moments was at the end when instead of play Pump Up Kicks, they had a moment of silence for the shooting that had occurred the same day as the concert in a Washington high school. They then proceeded to end with closing words of wisdom, and the song Truth. ♥

United Palace Theater in Upper Manhattan is just a beautiful venue for a live music show IMHO. The opening act Soko was really good and was enjoyable as well. my companion and I enjoyed the show immensely. Clean, comfortable. interior of the theater is just beautiful with ornate ceilings and walls. Weird was the couple next to us texting through the show. i mean why bother to go if you're not going to enjoy yourself. but hey who am i to judge?

The music was incredible, and Mark Foster's voice was spot on! I think the true test of a real band is to hear them live, and i was not disappointed in the least! They put on a great performance and played their hearts out!!! I loved every minute of it!

Went to the show because it was a present for my son and I came out a fan. What a performance, the energy was so live, the group just made it an incredible experience. The sound quality was outstanding, people were great, I left wanting more.
