Kevin Costner & Modern West

Kevin spent time explaining the "background " to most of the songs. His description was heartfelt and genuine.

Love Kevin and his music but the sound was terrible too loud could hardly hear his voice. Opening act Sara Beck was good, sound was fine then.

Kevin Costner and Modern West was way better than I expected. The band was excellent; 2 guitars, bass, drums and fiddle. Kevin has an OK voice but it fits his songs which were mostly original. Pretty neat before show they showed lots of clips from his movies.

This was one of the best performances I have seen in a long time! The energy of the band was incredible and kevins voice was authentic and sounded amazing! I cant wait until they come to cleveland again! I had one of the best night of my life, i purchased several cd's for friends and family and listed to their wonderful music all the time!

All I could say all night was oh my gosh! He is just amazing.

Kevin Costner is the ultimate entertainer - whether on a movie screen or fronting Modern West. Both he and Modern West connect with the audience and draw everyone present into the performance. All are incredible musicians who are delighted to share their tremendous talent with others. It would be impossible to leave a Modern West show without a big smile on your face and an understanding of how deeply you are appreciated as a fan.

This was my second time seeing this incredible band. Not only does Kevin know how to act, he sure can sing and write songs. His daughter, Lily Costner, opened the show for him and she has a beautiful voice and did an awesome job. I know the bass player, Blair Forward, from a very long time ago when he played in a band in Columbus, Ohio, called Spittin'Image. It was good to see him again. Kevin was gracious enough to allow me to take a "selfie" of us at Wellington's, the restaurant we dined at before the show. It was a little dark in there, but how could I ask for a redo?!

A great performance for an actor turned musician. Altho he didn't play much on his guitar, his presentation was very good and the band was excellent. Good AV also.

Kevin Costner was exceptional. He was a good musician and singer but a great performer. He engaged the audience and was so sincere. You could tell he really loves his fans and he strived to impart that to us. I can't say enough. His songs were all meaningful and being the great story teller that he is he regaled us with little stories of how the songs came about. So enjoyable.

Kevin connected with his audience in an incredibly thoughtful way. There was a cancer victim who was sitting behind us. He sang a very inspirational song to her without anyone knowing why. He did not want to embarrass her. It obviously came from his heart. She talked with us after and told us how much it meant to her. Kevin appreciated the males in the audience as they were a minority. My boyfriend said he would go back. He enjoyed his humor. The one thing they or the concert hall needs to make a correction on is the sound mixer. The bass drums and the bass guitar were way too loud. It was hard to hear the words to some of the songs. Having been around the music industry some, I know bass players sometimes like to hear them selves as do the drummers. It could have been them, but the sound people could have turned them down a little to help them blend more.

Much better than expected! Original songs with several I want to hear again. Kevin Costner & daughter Lilly were engaging with the audience, and backed by very good musicians. Good show!!

Obviously the big draw to this group is Kevin Costner. The ladies show up to see him. While I also came to see him everyone should know that the band is actually really good. Shout out to john Coinman; you're good man.

Perfectly produced, musically adequate, and KC was utterly charming.

We went to this concert on a whim-who wouldn't want to see KC up close and was pleasantly surprised at how talented he and his band was. His daughter Lily opened and had a lovely voice. We have been telling everyone we meet about KC and his band.

Fantastic! I'm from NYC. I have been fortunate enough to see some major A list rock concerts living in NYC my whole life. I consider myself a pretty good judge on what is good. What good arrangements are. Good original songs are. What a professional band sounds like it. Most people have no idea about Kevin's hidden talent. He writes his own songs and they are great. The guy is just talented. Period. I posted some pics on FB and people started commenting that they had no idea he had a band. Well now some know. I also like that it's a no frills band. The guys come out in jeans, guitars,fiddle, drums and just play. Reminds me of the old days. Good old rock and roll, with a slight country twist. I would say, more of a guys band. But being a gal, Looking at Kevin is a bonus:)

The show was excellent. I would definitely go to see them again. Loved it!

Way too much bass and the instruments were louder than the vocals. Are the sound guys deaf? Really disappointed and too bad as the band is very good. Thankful I have the CDs.

I had such a wonderful time and loved his music. I want to go again and the next time I want front row seats. I would like to know if he will return to Twin Rivers or when I can see him again.

The music was fun, rich, and enjoyable! Kevin Costner puts on a warm and personable show. Up on stage with the band, he was having the best time and it showed, which made it all the more enjoyable!!! He was very gracious and inviting! His daughter opened for him and her voice is very special! Clear, haunting, and flows through you! Mr. Costner's lyric writing reminds us of the good old days, first love, summer nights, and why we are glad to be American!!! Can't wait for next year!

Very well organized event, ran on time, great atmosphere and of course great performance by Kevin Costner & Modern West

A great actor and musician. He communicated well with the audiance and he just draws you in. Great voice. Something was too loud - maybe the bass, mike - just made it harder to understand all his words. Band was strong and talented.

I have never seen an entertainer so relaxed as Kevin Costner. He appeared to be having fun and not taking the whole thing too seriously- just enjoying. He was gracious and grateful to his audience (which was wild). A completely entertaining and wonderful evening.

Show was great, didn't know too much about the band before show but loved the music and Lily Costner was absolutely wonderful

The concert was good, Kevin Costner is a very good entertainer and gave the crowd their monies worth that's for sure. His daughter is very talented and he brought his fans into his personal life which I thought was different. The beginning of his show was the only bad part. They showed about ten minutes of scenes from movies he was in and was a bit much. I can sit home for free and review on the net movies that Kevin has been in. I paid to watch his band perform not see parts of his movies. I think he did not involve his band more into his show, he did not introduce them and it was basically about his daughter and him, granted they are the stars but he has to remember the "little" guys that make it what he is.

Love shows at The Birchmere! Was cool seeing an actor doing something else he loves. Band was really great too.

To be truthful, I was a fan of Modern West because of Kevin Costner. Going to the show, hearing Lilly Costner open. And then listening to Modern West I became a fan of the band because they are just amazingly talented. The band was inctedible and sounding great. Kevin of course was perfect and charismatic. Bottom line, a fan of Kevin or the band, or both, the show was amazing!

While the music was not bad, the end of the show left the lasting impression. Tickets were purchased based on good reviews of Costner's previous performances, so friends and I went with high expectations. His daughter opened up, played some folk, sang sweetly and paid homage to her dad. Costner's music was enjoyable enough, but it became obvious to the audience, with the two song encore, that he didn't intend to introduce his band. Then, after the final song had been played, the anonymous musicians bowed with Costner and left the stage while he remained, popped the cork off a bottle of champagne and pranced around the stage solo. His ego and lack of recognition of those who helped make him look good was offensive.

Good show. Having his daughter open for him was enjoyable and showed a father who was very proud and pleased. Music was a mix of old and new. Closing with Mr Tambourine Man was a celebration that had the audience singing along and dancing in the aisles.

My daughter introduced me to The Birchmere a few years ago. She lives in the area & has been there numerous times. We came early (from PA) in anticipation of an early line of concert-goers...happy we did! The show did not disappoint! I took my sister-in-law & her husband for their first visit to the Birchmere & they loved it! Kevin played my favorite song "When Angels Came Down". Was nice to hear the song's background, too.

The concert was awesome. I had one of the best times of my life. I had the opportunity to hold his hand and touch his arm. It's a moment I will never forget.

His voice is OK. The band was tight and the sound was right. They played for 1hour. They played a video look back on his movies. Nice but too long!

Fun show... Kevin is very personable... plays for the crowd... hopefully you will be able to experience his daughter opening his show or joining him on stage... she is a real talent!

Kevin and the band gave a wonderful performance. Hope he returns to New England again so that I may see them perform again.

I enjoyed the show. He responded to the audience. After the show he came back on stage and that was a great addition to my overall show.

Lily Costner wowed the crowd with her beautiful voice, complex lyrics, and skillfully arrangements. We were pumped when Kevin and his band took the stage. He is one of the few who has "it", that indistinguishable trait that just draws people. His first gesture was to acknowledge the crowd - something that is increasingly rare by performers. Kevin was engaging, funny, tender, everything we had expected. Except he's not a great singer. He sounds like Kevin Costner talking, just longer syllables and in tune. The lyrics of the songs are much like those of a KISS album, 'Rock and roll, all night long, by the dashboard lights, do you hear my song'. Most of the band members played well, but they'll never be studio musicians. The rhythm acoustic player had frequent troubles...at one point his guitar strap came off and it took a good 30 seconds to sort it out. Several times he sang the wrong lyrics as a backup singer, and the worst part was he completely missed his cue to start an intro with the fiddle played. Kevin actually stopped the train wreck, apologized, and got the whole thing going again. Never seen that on a professional stage before. While living The dream, without Mr. Costner's fame to draw in crowd, their dream wouldn't be alive.

Paramount was a great venue for Modern West who were wonderful musicians. Kevin Costner was a relaxed front man who knew how to feature the other musicians and ran a great show

Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, were absolutely "Rockin'" as they performed to a packed crowd. His daughter, Lilly, was the opening act, as the proud dad watched from the shadows of the balcony. Then Kevin took the stage with all smiles and graciousness of a grateful performer. As he sang, he smiled at his adoring fans and welcomed photos, albeit without flashes. His style is a mix of country and rock and roll. I especially liked when he spoke to the audience between songs, sometimes explaining the background of many of them. He genuinely showed how much he appreciated his fans and how much of a good time he was having performing live in front of them. His band played terrifically, especially the fiddle player. The volume of the show was perfect, so as not to drown out the lead singer. All in all Kevin Costner and Modern West are a must see act!! It was truly an enjoyable evening.

Kevin Costner and Modern West were hot! Unfortunately, so was the venue! Although advertisement for this event indicated it was general admission, the tickets received indicated assigned rows and seat numbers. Not pleased at all to see "standing room only" for 600+ persons. Air was not working, several, including myself, got sick and had to get out of the crowd. Many actually fainted. Security was non-existent - many who arrived late forced their way up front, in front of others who had been standing for hours! KC and his band did not start playing until 9 pm. Unfortunately for them, several started leaving after only a few of his songs because they couldn't stand the pressure of the crowd or the hotness of the room. Also, by that time, several patrons had had entirely too much to drink, and became loud, rude, spilling their drinks on everyone around them. I'd go see this band again, but I will not be going back to Hal & Mal's for any concerts in the future, period!

Kevin Costner and the Modern West band are a great group of guys that just love to play music. They especially enjoy playing in small clubs, which is what Northern Lights is. Kevin likes to tell the stories behind the songs, and they play both rockin' tunes as well as ballads. The fiddle player was Bobby Yang that night, and he was unforgettable. Teddy Morgan on guitar really enjoys his job and shows a lot of enthusiasm. Sara Beck opened and also sang with the band. She has a nice voice.

I loved how he shared stories about where the songs came from or what inspired them. He was also wonderful in that he would stop and pose for people to take pictures. Wonderful job and great stage presence. I saw him 6 years ago at a Golf Tournament perform he has come along way!

He was the most down to earth person and realy did a great show. Would see it again.

KEVIN COSTNER WAS UNEXPECTEDLY AWESOME AS A SINGER AND BAND LEADER. I HAVE BEEN A MOVIE FAN OF HIS FOR YEARS AND CAME FOR THAT REASON ALONE. MODERN WEST IS A TOP-NOTCH ROCKING WESTERN BAND. THE LYRICS HIT HOME. MR. COSTNER WAS SO GRACIOUS AND GIVING TO THE AUDIENCE. NO SUPERSTAR ATTITUDE OR ALOOFNESS WAS OBSERVED. YOU COULD TELL HE WAS ENJOYING THE RIDE, AND THE BAND WAS TOO. I PURCHASED 2 TICKETS; HOWEVER, MY DAUGHTER WAS UNABLE TO ATTEND. MY SEATS WERE EXCELLENT, AND MY EXPERIENCE WAS WORTH THE PRICE OF 2 TICKETS.

Kevin Costner and Modern West put on a great show! I had heard and enjoyed a few of their songs before, but I was blown away at the concert. These guys are for real! Go see them.

This concert was a dream come true for me. I had been waiting such a long time to meet Kevin Costner and Modern West. I had an awesome evening. Kevin and the members of his band are great performers as well as personable and genuine.

We totally enjoyed the concert at the Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater last night. The band was great, especially the guy on the violin. He was amazing! Kevin has a decent voice and the songs are a lot of fun. He is a very personable and humble presence on stage and appears to be having a blast doing this. It's infectious and you find yourself going along for the ride. He is also very easy on the eyes. We had 7 people in our group ages 20 mths, 14, 25, 28, 32, 51 & 51. The baby stayed awake and clapped and danced through the whole thing! All but the 14 year old enjoyed it, but that's to be expected. There was a warm-up act of a young Canadian female folk singer that we did not enjoy as much. Her voice was kind of shrill and her songs were kind of silly. She did a cover of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", that she tried to put her own twist on that failed miserably in my opinion. She seemed like a nice young girl though and some people seemed to enjoy her.

Costner put on a great show and was very thankful to his audience for attending the show. My family and I had a great time at the show. Both of the opening acts were great as well!

Outstanding ! Well worth the trip from CT. I have enjoyed immensely Kevin's movies. I was happy not to be disappointed in his new journey into country music.

I was just overwhelmed with the Kevin Costner Concert! He is such a humble, compassionate man! And he can sing, his band was great too! I would definitely recommend seeing him to anyone who likes this actor. He is genuine!

This was my second time to see Kevin Costner & Modern West and I absolutely loved both shows! He is so incredibly awesome? I love the way he not only sings but also interacts with the crowd. It is very apparent that he cares about the fans. A child walked up in front of the stage, Kevin stopped talking, looked down at the little boy, smiled and then winked at him. I was very touched at that moment. I will definitely go and see Kevin & Modern West again.

Enjoyed Kevin Costner's concert immensely, my only complaint was the seating wasn't the most comfortable. They really should upgrade their venue for concerts. Kevin and his band put on a great show and enjoyed his stories about each song.

Kevin had his serious moments and moments with humor. Very good combo for a concert. He kept the audience aware and alert singing or speaking. I really appreciated his appreciation for our history. Very sincere. I liked that he expressed His performance and his band was very good. I did like the slower songs that he sang, but that's just me because they did very well on the rock & roll. I would definitely go see him again. To be the tremendous movie artist he his he is so down to earth from most in Hollywood My daughter was with me and she felt the same way.

I was pleasantly surprised and the performance of Kevin Costner and Modern West. We had seats in the last row so it was hard to see some times. The band was very good. I enjoyed the interaction Kevin Costner had with the audience. He was very personable and actually has a great voice.

Costner is an amazing actor because he has a passion for acting. It brings him satisfaction. He undoubtedly feels the same about his music and it shows. When he tells the audience about the songs he is sincere and he plays and sings with the same sincerity. He is smart enough to surround himself with very talented musicians and he rises to their caliber. All said and done it was a very enjoyable evening in the presence of a very talented and charming gentleman. I would definitely go again.

This is the first time I have heard Kevin Costner sing and I must say he has a really good voice. The show he put on was very good. He has some great musicians in his band but of course everyone comes to see him. He is very humble and down to earth and has a great time with his audience. He talks and tells some stories and really relates to the people. I would go and see him again.

Kevin Costner was one of the most gracious performers I have ever seen. He opened the concert by walking in on the center aisle greeting everyone as he went and it just got better as the concert progressed. He let us know he was grateful that we were there and really seemed to enjoy every moment on stage. I loved the music and the party atmosphere. Would recommend everyone see him! You will enjoy!!!

It was fun for a short while, just to see kevin costner, but ultimately, he can't hold pitch and he doesn't blend well with most of his backup voices (there was one good voice blend). i didn't know what to expect but i was disappointed. his daughter, on the other hand, is quite good.

Kevin simply does not sing well, and there was little opportunity to hear what kind of voices other band members have. The group sounds good instrmentally. Kevin is unusually audience-focused. He appears to be able to imagine the experience from the audience's point of view.

Mr. Costner's daughter, Lilly, stole the show. Her music and singing were great. She engaged the crowd. Mr. Costner could have been in ANYCITY, USA. He spoke to the crowd a little but it was nothing special. Did he even realize he was in the Washington DC area? I felt more like I was watching a movie of one of his concerts. He also never introduced the band. His was out of tune on the slower songs but did well during the more rock and roll-like songs. He also mumbles when he is talking. Disappointed especially considering his ticket prices were some of the highest at the Birchmere.

I enjoyed seeing Kevin and his band. I thought his daughter Lily had a great voice. It was nice to see them do a song together. Ending with Mr Tambourin Man was the best.

Great show at Bichmere. Cool to see Kevin after just seeing Draft Day. Kelly has wonderful voice. Many times could barely hear Kevin's voice as band over powered. Need to turn his mic up.

It's clear that this is Costner's hobby, not his livelihood. And it's clear that, for both Costner and the audience, part of the attraction is seeing Kevin Costner up close and personal. I felt the band's performance was uneven; there were *okay* songs and good songs. The star of the show, in my opinion, was his daughter, Lily. She has an unusual voice, but lovely to listen to. I would see her again.

The band was wonderful. The music was amazing. Kevin's daughter was the opening act. She was lovely. Her music is a bit more folk. Both were new genres for me and I am so happy that I was able to see them. Would highly recommend.

Kevin Costner is an outstanding actor; as a musician, writer, performer he is equally outstanding! He comes across as a very friendly man who has a remarkable raport with his audience. The band played their best and everyone at the Paramount were tapping their feet, clapping their hands, dancing with the beat of a terrific sound. I now have been playing and listening to the best of Kevin Costner & Modern West CD and can visualize their terrific performance. Also, Kevin and his daughter sang Let MeBe The One and that is now my favorite song! My husband and I have definitely added this band to our favorite go to shows and looking foward to seeing them again!

This was a great time, really enjoyed it! Kevin Costner looked like he was having a great time and so was the audience. It was just fun all around. For a big star he seemed humbled by the reception he got. Great to see such a close relationship with his daughter. For such a big star he was so down to earth. Always loved him as an actor, couldn't believe I was seeing him in person! The Paramount venue was great, sat in the floor seats, look forward to going back!

Kevin was fantastic. From the start of the show where he shows film clips from his movies, then to walking down the aisle to get onto stage, you knew it was going to be special. All songs are original, have special meaning behind each one and are really great. Also, he is so personable and talks to the audience. I really enjoyed everything about it and I would definitely go to one of his concerts again. Very talented.

I was truly impressed with Lilly, she did a great job opening for her dad, Kevin Costner. The father - daughter duet was heart felt. Kevin's easy going and genuine style was most enjoyable. Really liked the classy end when he opened a bottle of champagne and toasted the audience!

I have never seen such a charming gentleman! Kevin Costner engaged the auduence every step of the way--from his entrance down the aisle, the stories before each song, the electrified concert, to his amazing eye contact with his audience. It was one of the best nights of my life! Totally overwhelmed with his "star" presence--he's right up there with the best. He acted so normal and genuine. I would go again in a heartbeat. My husband enjoyed it just as much. We especially liked his interactions with his daughter, Lilly. precious!! WOW!!!!!!!!!

Kevin's Modern West Band was absolutely incredible. Such talent. Kevin may not have the best male voice but his performance was a pleasure to see. He is so proud of his daughter Lilly and he has reason to feel so. She has a wonderful sweet voice. Hope that Kevin and his Modern West Band come back to Long Island and we can enjoy hearing them once again. Very great performance.

Always been a fan of Kevin Costner and his superb acting abilities. Was unaware that he had a band and/or was a good singer/composer! The show was excellent, everyone in the band was hand-picked, especially enjoyed the violinist. Kevin Costner-world renowned actor turns out to be very able to make the audience feel that he is very happy to enjoy an evening with us as friends. Amazed at his warmth and candor-so appreciated. He is genuine, and the content of the songs he presents further display his depth and humanity. Great to see that someone in acting career was able to maintain his passion to give back in this venue as well as on stage. Further reason to be open to reinventing ways to share your God given gifts throughout your life! An inspiration to both my husband and I as an actor, singer and father! Bravo Mr. Costner!

Music was OK, it was great to see Kevin up close. His daughter was not bad,cute.

Someone has to tell this guy that he can't sing and he should stick to acting. One of the worst shows I have ever attended. Bad songs sung badly. My wife dragged me to it and the females in the audience seemed to be in love, but musically it was terrible. His band is adequate at best (fiddler was best) but I would have been pissed if I paid $10 for this show much less what I did pay. The Paramount is a fantastic venue and they should not have schlock acts like this ever again.

I never knew Kevin Costner sang or had a band. I truly did not expect a first rate performance and they blew us away. The musicians were excellent. The violinist was perfection. The songs were really good as was Kevin. Lily Costner has the voice of an angel. She was pure joy.

Didn't know Kevin Costner sang, and didn't care. Was just exciting to see him in person in Salamanca! Enjoyed the show immensely!!

I am the same age as Kevin Costner and His Band is the Best I have ever heard!!! His voice is so sexy and his smile is so Mmmmm. It was nice to be able to here Lily sing also!! I am so happy that I went to this Event and do highly recommend people to go to hear them.

Hey I know the guys an actor but is a great music lover and pretty good musician to boot. This band was very tight and rocked with the best of em. Great night with my wife who did drag me along because she's in love with Mr. Costner but it was worth it. He seems like a pretty humble guy and was really there for the fans.

The concert was great, the venue was nice. Small & intimate, very enjoyable. It would have been nice to bring drinks into the concert, but this was a minor thing, honestly.

Kevin Costner & Modern West always deliver. Beautiful lyrics and music and a great attitude. They're all having the time of their lives on stage and that's contagious. I've never ever not had a fantastic time at one of their concerts. I'll go again, I'll recommend it to a friend and I'm bringing anyone who wants to come with me.

Saw Kevin Costner and his band on a whim. Loved him for years as an actor, but his concert was unforgettable. He was personal and warm, interacting with his audience. The music was a soul soothing blend of styles. Loved every second of it.

I surprised my mom who loves Kevin Costner as an actor with tickets to go see he and his band. Well, we left there being huge fans of Kevin Costner the SINGER. He and the band are awesome. He's so down to earth telling great stories, AND he's aged incredibly well...he's absolutely gorgeous to watch on stage. HOB New Orleans was an awesome venue!!!!!!!

Kevin Costner and the Modern West were Really Good. I enjoyed the show a lot. I found Kevin to be a really warm and sincere person. Not a put on type person at all. He has good songs that tell stories. Only thing I missed was him singing "The Angels Came Down". Would def go see him again!
