Amazing Grace (Touring)

I surprised my husband and our 11-year-old daughter by taking them to this show. I had researched and saw the great reviews and thought we would all like it. I am so glad I did! We all absolutely loved it! The acting and singing were phenomenal and perfectly done. We loved the songs and their voices were breathtaking. It was a very moving story being told and held everyone's attention throughout the whole performance. We waited outside the stage door and nearly every actor stopped to personally thank us for coming, posed for pictures with us and chatted about their tour. I can't tell you how exciting it was for my daughter! We saw their last performance at that theater and I told them all that we loved it so much, if it was still playing, I would go again! Highly recommend anyone seeing it if they get the opportunity!

This production was Broadway caliber! It is a fascinating story with beautiful music but it was the extremely talented cast that made this a show stopper! Through the years we have attended many plays on Broadway and touring shows in different CT venues. This performance of Amazing Grace will now become one of our all time favorites!

The music, the singing and the performances of the cast were wonderful! I highly recommend this musical. I also loved the costumes! Fabulous!

Yes, It was an "AMAZING" performance! My husband and I were moved by this wondrous musical based on the life of John Newton. The performers were of the highest quality and truly became the characters they portrayed. As a former 8th grade language arts teacher, I had used the movie "Amazing Grace" in a writing unit for Black History month, so I was familiar with much of John Newton's story. This interpretation was done in a beautiful way and I am so glad we got to enjoy it!

The play was inspiring, with a perfect occasional mix of humor. The costumes were flawless and drew you into the scenes. The actors were beyond talented! The singing and story were magnificent! I would go today and see it again!

This show was wonderful! A simple stage, but effective lighting and curtain changes helped you know different scene changes. Singing was beautiful and the actors were amazing! The story was meaningful and inspiring. Greatly recommended!!!

My husband & I enjoyed the performance. The musical followed the true story of what happened to John Newton & how he came to write the lyrics to Amazing Grace. His father had a business with a slave trader Princess Peye of Sierra Leone, he took over the business. The story goes on with fabulous music, drama & a great deal of energy. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! The audience erupted with applause & sang with the cast.

Show was Awesome,what a perfect night!! A well known song with such quiet history, so happy I have a background with this song, and what a story it is!

The acting was superb. The storyline was informative. It had both me and my husband in tears at one point. I recommend everyone to go see it, not sure how appropriate it would be for younger viewers though.

Amazing Grace is an outstanding show. The story is about John Newton s conversion from slave trader to devout Christian. The music is written in the style of a traditional Broadway musical. It is catchy and grand. The sets and costumes are superb. And the cast is excellent. Great voices and performances. This is the type of show that you will want to see again and again.

Amazing Grace was an excellent play and brought goose bumps to hear such talented singing. One should be familiar with the life of John newton, however, before going. The supporting cast was particularly effective. All had superb voices.

We really enjoyed the show and the Shubert was an excellent venue to see it in. We were surprised that it was not a sell out, but that was not a reflection on the performance. Our favorite scene was the near drowning and rescue. The singing and acting was excellent.

What an AMAZING musical. The cast was incredible with the most beautiful voices.

Went into show with no expectations. Wow wow wow. Was so surprised with the music and talent on the stage. The males steal the show especially the lead and his father. Special shout out to the African princess for her acting and Nanna for her singing. Would certainly recommend!

Such a great play. Definitely a must see. Acting and music was excellent.

This production is as good as anything that I have seen in NYC, a great cast in every role. The play is well done in all aspects.
