Great time with the family. Tickets are a bit expensive.

What a great time we had watching the Winter Hawks playoff game! From my 5 year old to myself, we all had a great time. I would like the chance to go again.

This was my 7 yr old's first game. He had a ball! We will be attending again on the 19th. WinterHawks provided so much energy!! These kids are amazingly talented! So much better than a Blazer Game!! The seats were great, right on the center red line.

Referees break up the fights too fast. I didn't want to pay to see them play with puppies. Adult beverages were too expensive.

I believe that there was a lack of new spirit involved in the event. The fans were lacking real stars no one knows anyone's name on the ice. I believe that if you created a star player you would have more fans, More excitement and an overall crowded arena.

I love going to hawks games. i love getting in to it when the score a goal and i love bringing my friends to games who have never been. i am very tempted to stop coming to the games though. i love tom a hawk, i hate the new costume and the person inside of it does not deserve to be in that suit. he (or she) cant skate and does not get the crowd in to it. last night i saw that bird fall on his butt on the ice. last year i NEVER saw that bird fall, he (or she) was a good skater and a wonderful crowd upper. there was almost a whole period that we never even saw the mascot. the winterhawks need to get a new mascot, or get the person doing it now some skating lessons. i could have done a better job on skates and i have only been on them twice in my 32 years of life! thanks alison

It was our first time at a game. Everyone was very helpful, even the items for sell weren't priced out of this world.

Hadn't been to a Winterhawks hockey game in years. The team had fallen on hard times the past few years, but this year they are playing better, so I had to go and see for myself. Was able to get tickets 6 rows from the ice, got to see all the action up close. Great game: Winterhawks win 7-3. The team is good and improving. The new ownership seems to be doing a great job in all aspects. I will probably return this season.

The game was amazing yet again! Fun! Won a t-shirt. :) the only painful part was sitting thru the national Anthem sung by some girl with a cello. Horrible rendition! Really sad to say.

The people, and the game was excellent! Our seats were great, and we had a swell time!

The home opener vs. the arch-rival Seattle Thunderbirds was action packed! It was a hard hitting aggressive game highlighted by six goals for the hawks and some excellent defensive work by the goaltender Kurtis Mucha. For my money this was a great way to spend a Saturday evening and support a local franchise!

I had never been to a winterhawks game and was a littel concern, but it was a really great evening. The game was great (the winterhawks won) and the seats I got were wonderful. I am looking forward to going to another game soon.

There is never a better opponent against the Winter Hawks than Seattle because the town is close enough that their fans come down for the games. Makes for excitement in the stands in addition to the action on the ice. Last night's game was awesome ~ Winter Hawks totally dominated, probably 4 to 1 shots on goal to merit a 6 to 1 victory. There were a couple pretty good fights for some fans to enjoy, and Seattle spent a LOT of time in the penalty box. I wish I could go to tonight's game, too, as it appears we have an excellent team this year. Go Hawks!!

This years Winterhawks team is just that. A team. They move the puck well, play great defense, and the forecheck is very effective. They went two periods not being able to finish, but figured it out in the third reeling off 5 goals in the final frame. The "Rosebuds" cheer squad is something fun for the kids, I guess. The new PA announcer is awful, as he tries too hard to push his voice. The background music, if they must, has been changed to more classic rock format, rather than the RAP that has been so dominant over the past several seasons. The replay screens at Portland Memorial Coliseum are annoying and in-effective. They should be left off.

We came to the Winterhawks game for our 12 year anniversary and it was a well-played & entertaining game. We can't wait to come back again!

well that was the best winterhawk game i have ever been too. It was awsome. I would recommend this to anyone who loves ice hockey i think that this will be the year for the winterhawks third quarter was the best I cant wait till the next game that i go to Yay GO HAWKS

Game was good, but both teams had some major errors that need to be worked out before the official season starts.

Loved Loved Loved this game. I've never even watched a hockey game and this was just amazing! So much fun! alot of fighting haha. in the stands and on the ice. What can you say about drunk hockey fans??? (sigh) Had a great time tho. Would love to go again.

this was my first hockey game and it was well worth it. i had soo much fun. the fights were awesome and the cotton candy was delicious. i would go again in a heart beat.

Non stop fighting... It was great for a pre season game!

Not the cost or glitz of the NHL but great hockey at the Moda Center in Portland. The Portland Hawks and Everett Silvertips played fast and hard in a very good game. Our seats were down close to the action making the experience even better for my first time hockey game wife. Seats were easily obtained on "ticketmaster" and they kept me informed and up to date after the change of venue occurred after I purchased the tickets.

The first half of the game was pretty slow. With Seattle in the lead up until the final period. Seatlle won this game. Veterans memorial coliseum is not a very friendly place, the staff are rude and uncaring. The seats are uncomfortable and cramped. The closest seats are literally just fold up chairs. Will not be attending any future events at the VMC.

This was my first hockey game. I had a great time. It was nonstop action. Our seats were right behind the players box. The other team had a player who lost two teeth and their team Doc set them on the rail right in front of us. Gory but awesome.

Great seats. Doubt there is a bad seat in the arena at Moda Center since 300 level is closed for the games. WHL games are more exciting than nhl games at times.

I love everything about the winter hawks games! If they win or lose I will always be their fans!

Such a fun experience! First Winterhawks game and they did not disappoint!

Behind 0-3 at the end of the first period of play, I was disgusted and left the venue. I have no patience for sloppy play and figured the game was already decided. I was wrong of course. The Hawks came screaming back at the beginning of the 2nd period and went on to win the game. If I had stayed, by the way, they would have lost 5-2. My loss, their gain. Ha!

The game was great and so were the seats! So much fun!

It was my first hockey game; and I was pleased. It was fast paced, exciting, and good for families. The game was so close, at the end they were still tied, had a sudden death, and then a shootout. Even the mascot was enthusiastic! I would go again.

Always a great time at a Hawks game. Good hockey, good beer and a fun skate after. If you're not watching the Hawks like, you're missing out!

Winterhawks games are always fun for the whole family and the New Years eve game always seems to be special. After the game you can skate on the rink and there are other activities to d like bouncey houses etc. THE CATCH is you have to rent your skates at the Winterhawks skating center BEFORE the game and bring them with you. They do not provide skates and they do not make this super clear. Still though it is a great family tradition and one my teenage girls and I plan on continuing into the coming years!

Great game but the food was bad for the price we pay food should be hot not cold

It was very entertaining. The team is great. I sat front row next to the penalty box. The only problem was one guy constantly yelling at the players and refs. It got old fast. This guy was making fun of the players names constantly. Then he started yelling at the refs making fun of ones eyebrows. It takes a special coward to hide behind the glass, women and children then to yells insults. When the ref turned around to look to see who was yelling the guy hid behind everyone. I think the ref was a great guy because of instead of getting mad he smiled and laughed it off. There is always a heckler in the group who wants to be the center of attention.

I was very impressed with the team. These young men showed a lot of class. The NFL and other professional athletes can learn a lot from these young hockey players class and style.

Fun, lots of action and great seats! Plus it was a huge win.

Great game, great event, I like WHL more than NHL!

Refs didn't call things they should have. It seems they were favoring the guest team.

Hawks looked rough at first but came back from a 2 point defecit to win the game in the last 10 minutes.

Sunday night game vs rival Seattle on a non-school sunday night (President's day on Monday) so lots of families and kids in attendance. The winterhawks showed up and played an entertaining game. Unfortunately the winterhawks organization did not show up. Stood in line to enter the arena for 40 minutes causing us to miss a good portion of the first period. The excuse was that the ticket scanners were on the fritz. Not excusable as your IT people must be on hand. Apparently the Winterhawks couldn't be ready for the more than 9000 that attended because the concessions were a mess. Waited for 30 minutes in a non-moving concession line before giving up, having missed a good part of the second period. The business side of the organization should be ashamed.

I don't know about you but junk food at an event is half of the fun. I bought four tickets to this event for me and my family and the game was wonderful. The food was not. The lines were extremely long (so I missed a whole period waiting) they ran out of food, service was very slow and my god the water was more expensive than the beer, the prices are way out of balance.. The game looked to be almost sold out and all the food stands weren't even open, please plan ahead and maybe all will go better.

This was very easy to get in the game and vert fast! I would do it again any day! Great game and seats.

Awesome game. Good time with my 10 year old daughter and my 4 year old son. They are fans for life. They got autographs from the players after the game and was a great time!!!

Fun times for us going up to Portland and watching the Winter Hawks play Seattle and also winning definitely helped the evening. Looking forward to going to another game very soon.

The Hawks are the farm team for the Chicago Blackhawks. The skill levels are quite amazing considering these guys are mostly 15 to 20 years old. Good action and lots of fun. Nice venue with various food choices. Not really a bad seat in the house.

Great old school venue, Hawks are fun to watch, reasonable rates for tickets, fun fans. Good time, every time.

The game was great. This is the fourth winter hawks game I have been to this season and the team played very well. I was disappointed to see how many empty seats there were since when I bought my tickets it look as though the crowd was pretty close to being sold out. Always fun when it is mascot night and they all get to come out on the ice during the fire period intermission. (Kept having to resubmit because the section about tell us about your seats was too long. If you are going to have someone review something you should let them write what they want to write.)

I'm from out of state. I live in South Dakota and I attended my first WHL game. It was a blast in Portland. The teams had lots of hard hits and great saves from the goalies playing. CONS: I didn't like the small steps from the venue because my girlfriend had a hard time getting up and down the steps there. PARKING SUCKED, Trailblazers were playing the same night as Winterhawks. It created headaches for myself trying to find a parking spot. Wish they played out of the downtown area. Overall a really fun time and wish I had season tickets.

Had a great time with the family. Can't wait to go again.

What a fantastic night at the coliseum, Winterhawks do it right with a quick opening goal and nearly 11,000 Teddy Bears hit the ice, fun for the entire family, will make this a traditional Christmas event.

You can't beat the value of Winterhawks hockey. It looks and feels much like the nhl, only for a fraction of the price. Personally, I think I would have paid $50 or more for that ticket, yet it was much less. Simply an amazing deal on a very exciting team.

This was an exciting game! Game 5 and the Hawks were a force to behold. My adoration for this team is superlative in the sense that there are no "big" words in the English language that can describe appropriately how much affection I feel towards each and every team member. Kooteny may have taken home the cup, but I don't see this as a loss at all for Portland. I can only see the positive aspects of games well-played and a team who is now seasoned to take a hit and jump back up on their feet again. In all fairness, Congrats to Kootenay for taking home the cup. Regarding the Hawks, my husband and I are hooked and have decided to become season ticket holders for sure. GO HAWKS! My husband and I went to both the Friday and Saturday games at the Rosegarden (5/6 & 5/7). Friday's game was exciting and the Hawks came out winners. Last night's game was a shocker. This game HAS to go down in history as the most poorly officiated game in Hockey history. The calls and penalties against Portland were so outweighed; it was unbelievably difficult to comprehend. Kootenay is a scrappy team who plays dirty and who does everything they can to get under their competitor's skin. The Hawks are different in that they keep their cool, play the game, and do their best to stay together and win the game. The second period was heartbreaking, but the Hawks came back in the last few moments with a goal and they didn't stop. As the third period played out, the Hawks scored again, and again, and again. Then, yet another penalty and power play was thrown our way that worked in Kootenay's favor. All I have to say is, Kootenay...if you honestly believe you won this game, you are fooling yourself. How can Kootenay believe that they honestly won this game when 90 percent of their goals were when the Hawks were down to 3 players... Unbelievable. I will say, though, that we watched the Canadian feed on Root after the game, and the commentary basically reinforced what we saw at the game. As delicately as they could, the commentators commented on how "interesting" the game was and how "unexpected" the calls were. On the local news, Mike Johnston eloquently remarked at how he hadn't seen this type of officiating in the 25 years he's been in hockey..when he could've come right out and said that it was a crooked game. GO HAWKS! We'll be there agin on Friday 5/13 in the front row to cheer you on!

Winterhawks gave it their all, but 3 terrible calls which resulted in a double minor and 2 five minute majors cost us 4 goals. Third period was unbelievable as the Hawks almost pulled it off starting the period down 6-2, coming back to 5-6 with 9 minutes left in the game. Looking forward to game 5.

I always have faith in the Hawks and they came through in the 3rd period with a win. The game started out with The Chiefs in control - cocky, aggressive, and just plain arrogant. I didn't like the way the game started at all, but as the crowd began to chant the Hawks' name in the 2nd and 3rd periods, I could see the team gain confidence and begin to take control of the game...and eventually they dominated. I sat beind the benches and it was definitely a different perspective there than anywhere else I've ever sat at the Garden. A LOT of action. Towards the end, the game was honestly about defending the 3-2 score. The Chiefs were really fighting to get even and go into OT. I was nervous, wringing my hands together, and wishing, wishing, wishing. The Hawks didn't let me down. It was a knock down, drag out fight to the end and The Hawks came out a winner - bruises, black eyes and all. The Chiefs are an aggressive team. I'm happy that my good 'ol boys came through again. I still have my Hawks wallpaper on my phone and my computer screen at work as a good luck charm for tonight's game. GO HAWKS!

Game was great. I was a little disappointed in the staff's lack of attempt to get the crowd involved before the 3rd period. The "Make Some Noise" declaration didn't come on the big screen until then. Luckily the Winterhawks scored enough to keep the crowd interested, though the 1st period with a 1-0 Spokane lead was a little dead. The couple next to me left after the 1st period, though that also could have something to do with the fact that it was either a 2nd or 3rd date and super awkward. There was no "Go Hawks Go" up on the big screen....the crowd started that cheer. This is PLAYOFF hockey. You can do better. Only other thing I'd recommend is a Spokane (visitor) only section. I saw some of their fans get absolutely taunted. Nothing huge that needed reported but I'm not sure they had all that much fun, especially since their team lost and Portland fans made sure they knew it. As far as our seats, we sat in section 113, row E. I wouldn't sit here again. I'd go up higher in the 200 section. You have the ability to see the entire ice, instead of having to look up on the big screen when the puck goes into the corner on the opposite side of the ice (see pictures).

The Hawks are an amazingly talented team. The Chiefs scored first but The Hawks came right back with a goal almost immediately. They defended their turf and came out in the end with a victory. The thing I like most about The Hawks is they are good boys in that I feel they play a clean game. Hockey players, to me, are true blue athletes. They are good 'ol boys because they are passionate about the game and work really hard to stay together as a team. The fact that the WHL is the stepping stone to the NHL means a lot to me because I can already see the talent and the passion. I would be a proud "mamma" to see one of my boys go to the pros. WAY TO GO HAWKS! We'll be there on Sat. 4/30 to cheer you on! Woo HOO!!!!!!!!

The Winterhawks game was so much. My husband and I had seats right behind the team which was great and reasonable priced. It was full of action and several fights between the two teams, and Winterhawks won. Will definitely attend another game and maybe get season tickets.

Seats were great and the game was even better... the crowd was full and fired up. Only bad thing was no fights! But the win is better ... Awesome performance!

Classic night of hockey honoring the Portland Buckeroos. The Coliseum has the old school feel that made the throwback jerseys look right at home. The Winterhawks put on an impressive display, dominating the game from start to finish.

This game got hot. The tension between the teams was enough to keep me from blinking. I have to admit, I love when it gets aggressive. Got to see some ruffing, a few blows, and even a little blood. But the game itself was GREAT! The Winterhawks are on a roll kicking ass! Great game guys, I'll be back soon!

Great event! Hockey, is exciting, fast paced and never a dull moment

HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THE HUSBAND AND KIDS (WAS THEIR FIRST TIME TO A GAME), BROUGHT BACK WONDERFUL CHILDHOOD MEMEORIES FOR ME. WE BECAME A FAN ALL OVER AGAIN!!

It was day before New Year's Eve and I was looking online looking for stuff to do. I remember my daughter's friend telling us that they were going to a hockey game. So I looked it up and saw the prices and was shocked how affordable they were. I immediately buy the three best seats available and we ended up in sec 177 - end zone action baby! We had a great New Year's Eve! We're Winterhawks fans now!

I surprised my husband with tickets to the game for his birthday. We had a great time, but the crowd was so small, open seats everywhere. We use to go alot more a few years ago and they seemed to have done way more things for the crowds, for example: games, songs that got the crowd going, and putting crowds faces on the big screen, silly give aways. I was surprised that none of that happens anymore. Would have been fun for our children that attended with us. We still had a good time and hopeful can attend another game soon!!

The rivalry game was an awsome game due the 6-0 shut out. The only real dissappointment in the game was no fighting.

Hockey is the best sport ever!!! How can you go wrong.

Awesome close game with lots of action and drama. Hawks tied it up with less than 2 seconds left and went on to win it in the shoot out. Dash for Cash promotion was a blast too. GO HAWKS!!

First period very boring for hockey, no big checks, no goals, no fights. The second, and especially third periods were great! The Hawks broke it open with the score, there were some huge hits and three fights in which Portland got the better of. A great Seattle beating, a great game!

Outstanding venue, great WHL fans, and a last minute win by Everett? This visiting fan was thrilled!

3 goals in the first 5 minutes. Regulation end in a 5-5 tie. Know what happens if you get a penalty during 3 on 3 overtime? Come-from-behind win in shoot out. What more could you ask for?

Good time for the whole family. Exciting. Even though we do not follow the Winter Hawks as dedicated fans it is easy to get into the game and support the home team!

That was a fantastic intense game and worth the cost for seats. The event is super fun and low cost. I only wish the food wasn't so expensive.

From the beginning to end the action never stopped. We missed most of the first quarter due to train MAC stoppage, but were able to enjoy every minute there after. Seeing the WINTERHAWKS trash Seattle was a treat, and the last and final goal with 4sec left on the clock, was an end to a perfect 2015 New Years Eve.

I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta watching Gretzky and the Oilers play. We watched a great hockey game Friday night with an energetic crowd and solid team. I haven't played for years but would love to be younger and still able to play after being at the game.

Good stuff. Recommend everyone should attend at least one game.

It has started to become a tradition for my friends and I to go to the Teddy Bear Toss. We had fun at the event. Wish Coliseum sold hot chocolate. Section 6 row N was pretty good seats. Had to stand up to see if a goal was shot on our end.

Love the daylight games! Too bad theHawks didn't play better. They wasted a golden opportunity to make new fans.

Bought tickets for what was billed as a New Years Eve party with the Winterhawks. I thought it would be a fun event for my teenagers. Here are some cautions for those of you thinking about doing this next year: 1. You MUST rent skates on-line prior to the game, or bring your own if you want to participate in the after-game skate party. Then you wait in a huge line after the game to pick them up. We did not know that, so our kids could not skate, nor could they get autographs from the players because they only interacted with the fans on the ice. 2. The prize-filled balloon drop at midnight was anti-climatic. There were not near enough balloons for the size of the crowd, and they all sort of fell in one tiny area of the stadium. 3. They advertised a "carnival" after the game. There were a few cheezy things set up, and definitely NOT geared to anyone above the age of ten. 4. The game was sold out, yet the sit-down restaurants were not open in the MODA center. The staff told us they only open for the Blazer games. So we were stuck with the fast food...blah...

I took my patent and my kids (ages 12 and 11). Everyone had a great time! We will definitely be good back again and taking more friends and family with us. The price were reasonable for a sporting event, parking was easy and event staff was helpful.

The Winterhawks lost, but my daughters (ages 5 and 8) absolutely loved their first game. Great family fun.

Portland Winterhawks played a heck of a game. Fans were awesome. Event staff were great. Merch selection was decent. I highly recommend.

For how amazing the arena is the seats were awfully uncomfortable... worse the showare and absolutely zero leg room no matter what size u are... fans are a wee aggressive... as I am sure some showare fans are as well
