Wonderfully talented performers put on an incredibly amazing show! It was a little raunchy at times due to the two 'MC's' of the event (warning that you do see penis) but the performances were amazing and I would go again in a heartbeat. The talent showcased was just incredible. Live music, acrobats, contortionists, and more! Definitely go if you can!

Some amazing acts, fun MC's, intimate venue. Probably not for the narrow minded, religious right. Acrobatic acts were fun to watch. Comedy was risque' but not vulgar, with maybe one exception....the fun take on "the quick change artist"! Wife laughed so hard, I thought she was going to fall off her chair.

The show was definitely an adult show. I really enjoyed the interaction with the audience. The show had an excellent combination of comedy, acrobatics, and awe!. I liked the small venue. every seat in the house was close enough to enjoy the show. There was enough variety to keep you wondering - what's next? The show was on the sexy side - not the trashy side. It was not a one sided show made for both men and woman.

I should first say that we have seen absinthe in vegas several times so am a bit biased. The ticket prices were very reasonable so if you have nothing better to do then..... otherwise the show is very low budget from the spotlight guy using a shop light to the very small stage which limits what the very capable acrobats are able to do. The only actual nudity was male and dare I saw quite underwhelming... Vegas show has sexy beautiful women while this one seemed to hired their ladies from the local amish sect and overdressed them from jc penny's. Rather than fill the transitional time with funny MC work they have a gal singing constantly with the audience paying more attention to the next setup. And PLEASE, drop the mouth to mouth full size banana transfer skit, too gross This show could have and should have been much better and is benefitting off the reviews of ABSINTHE in Vegas, BTW a MUST SEE SHOW WHEN IN VEGAS AT ANY PRICE!!

I have seen several Cirques and this was the worst one. Yes, it had some talented people but it wasn't enough. I've seen Cirque in tents before but this was ridiculous. The stage was too small to really do anything really great. The comedians were bad. I am not a prude at all but I got so tired of listening to them say "fuck" and seeing him naked didn't help either. They were just obnoxious. Sorry, you asked.

The combination of mild eroticism, hilarious physical comedy and outstanding acrobatics was quite memorable. I was laughing so hard multiple times that tears were streaming down my face. The small venue and stage made for a quite intimate, almost small nightclub-like, experience.

My wife and I enjoyed this cabaret style venue. There is not a bad seat in the house. The acts are top notch without the glitz of a Las Vegas venue, the focus is on the performers and their craft. We felt that the "emcee" was over the top on the adult language, a bit too crass for our taste.

If you're tired of everything looking like everything else, you'll like it. It's not vanilla. Can offend if you are too square, and if you are in the front row, you may be messed with...just sayin' It's a mixed bag of acrobatics, tricks, comedy, music, etc. Fun times-great start to a fun evening...we went from there to voo doo donuts and kit kat club. I bought tickets for my husband's 42nd birthday, and gave them to him as a surprise, he had no clue and was so happy. We had the best time there! The cast is so fun, and interactive. My husband was chosen to go on stage for their intermission entertainment, and had his 15 minutes of fame! I got most of it on video! I didn't even tell them it was his birthday! What an unforgettable night. I would recommend this to anyone with a sense of humor, and doesn't mind a little crudeness.

the show was pretty good. I think a little over priced, but good entertainment. the seating arrangement sucked though. I purchased seats in the 4th row which I thought would be great seats, but the seats are not like Cirque shows where they are tiered. The seating is all on the same level, so we couldn't see the show behind the people that were in front of us, so we ended up moving back so we could see better.

I should not have gone into this show with preconceived notions about what I was going to experience, based off the numerous other Cirque shows I've seen. This show was average in comparison to the others; the venue was quite quaint and the show as a whole lacked a clear storyline. I'd talked Cirque du Soleil shows up to my boyfriend and his response was that it was quite short and was an okay way to spend an evening. That being said, I'm glad I went. The people were talented and the act at the end with the balancing stole the show!

Could have been better if they did not use the words: penis, balls, fuck, over and over again. There was more vulgarity than acrobatics. Waste of money, must have been why the tent was nearly empty.

Empire is set in a much smaller venue which makes it more intimate and close. I went to previews before opening and their is a craft to the product. Has humor and riskiness in it's demonstrations of performance. Would not be for everybody's taste, so study what it's all about.

Filled with sexual humor and circus tricks. I thought it was great until the last performer. The show was faced paced and lively until him. Great trick but WAY too slow and I actually got bored. When I realized it was the last trick I wondered why they would such a silly show that way. Oh well, can't win them all. Well with the discount ticket price and a good way to spend an hour and a half of your life.

Wow! Surprisingly offbeat. Quintessential Portland-like show. Great music, lots of variety, fast paced. The gymnastic ability of the performers was jam dropping. No wonder all the acts were young! Oh, and you might just be a part of the show (as my husband was) so be prepared and be a good sport and you'll have a great time.If you're offended by language or full frontal nudity (the performers, not you), might not be the show for you.

It was a very entertaining evening. Parking was a bit of an issue with the Blazer game going on next door. We had good seats at a 2 person table. The cast & crew interacted with the audience from the moment you walked in the tent. It was very relaxing to get there early and have a drink while the cast warmed up the crowd. Because of the small venue every seat was a great seat. Every act was entertaining and you asked yourself How can they do that after each performer. Definitely not suited for children. Unlike most venues the drinks and snacks were reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

If you are familiar with Cirque du Soleil grand extravaganzas...take that and shrink it down to a 12' round stage inside a intimately sized round tent. They have bendy people. They have gymnastic artists. They have the requisite clowns. They have audience participation (warning...don't buy first row unless you want to be part of the show...or at least accept some risk of it). It's in the flavor of Cirque just much smaller but completely impressive. We were in the second row so all the performances were ultra close. I was a little concerned when the male clown flashed his junk but that was pretty much it. The humor is burlesque but the artists are amazing.

Show came recommended by Cirque du Soleil in my email. Staff were warm and friendly. Paid for a front row table, chair was broke and got worse. Show had a breathtaking grand finale. Overall not worth the nearly $200 I spent. We were expecting a burlesque show. Entertaining it was not. I wouldn't pay over $20 to see again. Very disappointed in the cost of the tickets and the value of the entertainment. My chair broke during the grand finale!! I had to change seats!!

Make no mistake, this is a great show. The various acts superb, but after dropping the "F" bomb multiple times it became tiresome. People laugh and giggle at unexpected cursing, but like a middle schooler making fart jokes...it gets old quickly. The emcee and his partner need to be rescripted a bit. Yes, the show has a burlesque naughty adult side but there are ways to pull that off elegantly (consider the show Zumanity) without slapstick innuendo and repetitive cursing. The strength of the show is in the beauty and skill of the various acts. I would go again and am relieved I didn't take my nephews as we had considered.

Wow, and now for something completely different. Jaw dropping astonishment from the opening act. Great variety in this awesome venue. I liked the comfortable VIP booths (which come with table service) located a little bit elevated at the back/sides (still only about 12 rows back) so you are unlikely to be part of a banana "incident", etc. But, if you want to be more engaged and maybe even part of the show - sit up close.

A big fan of Cirque du Soleil, I bought tickets to "Spiegelworld presents EMPIRE" based on an email from the Cirque Club. Empire is basically a traveling ripoff of Cirque's Las Vegas show "Zumanity." While Zumanity has both talent and class, Empire has talent, but no class. The MCs for Empire were obnoxious, foul-mouthed for no reason, raunchy in a bad way, and just not very entertaining. they were simply trying way too hard to be provocative, and it was simply unerotic, unfunny and rather pointless. The individual acts were great, and deserved better segue and presentations/build-up from the MCs.

My wife and I are 55 and enjoyed this show a lot. It's campy, it has some amazing acorbatics and it's audience involved with a small environment. Brief nudity (very brief), and some language so if you don't like that kind of thing....don't go! I was a lot of fun with a lot of audience laughing much of the time. A few tips; Sit in the first two rows and you are at risk to be picked on. Men watch out. Come early and doors don't open until 6:30 with only outdoor waiting area and very little cover, so if raining come after 6:30 There are no bad seats except for seats that say "obstructed" view. You will have a pole that holds the building up partially blocking your view

We saw the show in Portland and it was amazing. The comedy was a bit salty but nothing over the top. The acrobatics, lively music etc... There was never a dull moment. When the description read minors permitted with adult approval, I almost bought tickets for my teenagers. So glad I didn't. Can we say full frontal male nudity x 2. I would like to say the talent was amazing. Really fine acrobatics. Why did the host and hostess have to make the show raunchy with overly gross comedy. The talent had nothing to do with raunchy. The acrobatic acts were sexy and fun, then the host and hostess ruined the show with what they called humor. Unfortunately, that seems to be what I remember most. Buyer beware.

It all starts with four simple steps up into a modest foyer which transitions into an oasis of unlikely characters and settings that capture the senses so often forgotten or shelved for the normalcy of life. Where else can the shows anchoring, most wonderfully dysfunctional couple, a feather and its well balanced master, a duo of aerial brothers from Mexico, a fierce female trio of athletes disguised as catwalk models, a tumbling relationship of trust and strength, a breathless beauty and a beautiful beastly dance duo, an Asian import that has talent absent all inhibitions, 8 skate wheels that are transformed into a beautiful cloud lifted effortlessly by exemplary strength, a Jimi Hendrix reincarnated guitarist coupled with, the haunting notes of a vocalist to set all other standards by, and an angelic athlete unrestrained by a glass world, one that no one could have imagined or easily forgotten….. all culminating into 2 hours of crowd interactions, laughter, releasing of personal inhibitions and an indelible mark that changes ones perspective forever… I found myself simultaneously being distracted and transported, moving forward with the performance all the while wishing I could go back and savor, even longer, the previous departure from reality just a bit longer. I didn t want to leave; I wanted to Run Away with the Troop of interlinked performers and be a part of this tear in the fabric of time that allows one to be fully emerged into a world few ever get to experience firsthand….. FUN VARIETY SHOW! I still can't get over the building that they travel with...It's so much more than a tent! Just amazing! The intimate setting "in the round" makes for pretty good viewing from any seat. But don't enter late because you may not get the seats you paid for. DO NOT SIT UP FRONT unless you love attention... We were waylaid by the Blazer fan swarms...I didn't realize I bought tickets on a game night and it's pretty crazy having to pay $40 for parking and then getting blocked in and having to wait until the Blazer game lets out to even leave the parking lot (not Rose Quarter parking lot...those were all full way earlier even!)

I actually texted someone on my way home to recommend they go. Loved it, was my most favorite show I've seen.

Really beautiful show. Each act was amazing in it's own way. The energy was great, each act was simply breathtaking and so skillful. The show overall had a great amount of comedy too!

I know it's unfair and perhaps even cliche to compare this show to Cirque, but here goes.... Cirque is grander and more impressive. Cirque is also more expensive and has a budget to allow for more. In and of itself, this show held it's own. The "husband/wife" comedy due were hilarious. I was laughing so hard, tears were streaming down my face. The "feather" performer was amazing, as were the two men who performed together, one tossing the other around on his feet. The setting was intimate. I understand that they design and travel with their own set and it was impressive. Had somewhat of an old west feel. Very cool. There is also a bar on site, albeit with limited cocktail options, but better than nothing. All in all, the show was great. The performers were clearly talented and passionate. There was not the ariel aspect that Cirque has, but it was still very very good. If they were in Portland again, I would not hesitate to see them again and recommend them to all of my friends.

We found Empire to be absolutely mind blowing! A visual and auditory feast! Sexy, funny with extraordinary daring acrobatics. The last piece with the feather was so intense and so moving it brought me to tears! Love, love loved it!!!

My husband and I drove from Seattle to Portland for the weekend just to see this show. We've seen small shows all the way to large Vegas Cirque du Soleil shows, and we loved this show! We had no idea what to expect, as the reviews varied from loving it to hating it. It was a small and intimate crowd, and I can't imagine there was a single bad seat in the whole place, our view was wonderful! The entire show was very well put together. It was hilarious! I will say it is not for the prudent, as the show was crude (and had a little bit of nudity), but very very well done! There were acrobatics, small skits, and they did their own music. These performers are obviously incredibly talented! I would absolutely go see it again, and I'd tell all of our friends to go see it too. It made for a spectacular date night!

When we were brought to our seats, the actual seats were missing. There were some stage hand items on the floor where our chairs were supposed to be. When we were re-sat, I was nervous that someone would come up and want the seats that we were given. As the show went on I wondered if that wasn't part of the act since some parts of the show were audience interactive. We enjoyed the program. There was a great deal of talent and very unique acts. The intimacy of the event is to be cherished. To see the gifted performers so close is the way we should all see performances.

This was an amazing show. I was excited to see it given the reviews it was getting. This show is hilarious, raunchy, daring and exciting. There were many times that I laughed so hard I cried and other times where I held my breath and was on the edge of my seat. This show is hard to describe; saying it is a sexy carnival show does not do it justice. I loved Spiegelworld and would see it any time it is in my city. I highly recommend it!

Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was the fastest and most reviving 90 minutes. Was sad to see it end. Don't sit in the front row.

I'd seen Absinthe while in Vegas so when I saw there was another show that Spiegelworld was putting on while I was visiting in Portland I had to go. While not as good as the Vegas show I still have to say that the show was awesome. While I don't want to give too much away the feather routine and Bubble girl were my favorite and the show's hosts are hilarious! There is some nudity and vulgarity which I loved but others may not like as much. If you don't have any issues with that definitely go see this show while it's still there!

This show was a mess. The exception was the mind blowing balancing act finale. Aside from that, I felt like I was watching performers who just missed the cut at a community college talent show tryout. Had I paid the $10 cover at Dante's Sunday Sinferno to see this act, the rating would be much higher. But after spending $150 for a pair of tickets, I was expecting professional performers, trained dancers, etc. That's not to say I wasn't entertained. I was. I'm easily entertained.

We didn't really know what to expect from the show. From the beginning they had you guessing what kind of entertainment was going to happen. The performers were incredible, they all had their own style of entertainment. The host and hostess were very entertaining and funny. The two people doing the music, women singing and the guitar player were outstanding. My only disappointment was you did not offer CD of their music. Thank you for a wonderful entertaining evening that we will remember and talk about for a long time. Our hats off to the cast..

Highly recommended. Will definitely go again. Amazing athletic performances. Great music. Intimate setting. Funny and risqué. Not for those with delicate sensibilities.

as always the performance was amazing. we had a little trouble finding parking, that is the problem with sharing a venue, and got in a little late but it was totally worth it. the 'tent' was amazing, the performers were amazing, the live music was amazing. having the venue be so small for this was amazing, its way easier to interact with the crowd (we had to duck sometimes!) and to get a really good look at what they are doing and have it all happen nearly in our laps.
