Festival Supreme was one of the greatest days ever. I really hope the festival becomes a yearly event. The only thing i could say that was a bit of a pain was the fact that there was too many good acts that were on back to back witch mad you have to choose one and miss the other. Plus by the time i found out about something awesome (like the free arcade) i missed most of it. I would say getting a bigger venue would help a lot too but even if it was in someones back yard ir a shit hole aly way id be there having just as much fun. Thank you jack black and kyle gass for an amazing day. Bucketlist checked.

This was an amazing gathering of comedic legends who are all exceptionally talented at music! My one complaint was I missed everyone at the tent club intimacy which included Sarah Silverman, Will Forte, Megan Mullaly, and others because of the packed small space/lines. Also the timing made me choose between Tenacious D and Sarah Silverman?? Should've just had no performances during Tenacious D. Also they played Adam Sandlers performance on screens during Mr Show that has a huge following. Plus, the event wasn't that much better for VIP ticket holders. There was a lot of "guests" allowed backstage and to meet the performers but why not do a meet and greet ahead of time for VIP?

I went to Festival Supreme this year because I loved so many of the acts performing. Ultimately I was disappointed by all the acts I really wanted to see. Tenacious D, Reggie Watts, Richard Cheese and Tim Minchin all sort of phoned it in. Not very exciting performances. I didn't care about Die Anteword headlining. It was kinda weird that they booked so many music acts. That said Andrew WK rocked the house. And I was never a fan of his. But his live performance converted me 100%. He and his band CRUSHED it. Also PPL MVR was pretty sick. Still, I was really there for comedy music. No stand-up comedy act that I saw there worked, the venue was just not suited for it. Kids in the Hall somehow also killed it despite the fact that they performed on a huge stage to a massive theater doing traditional sketch, their commitment and understanding of how to work the stage and the crowd made it work. Was it worth $45... yes. Do I feel like I would go to Festival Supreme again? I don't know. Do I wish the D would've rocked harder? Yes. Don't do jazz D.

The venue was oversold and it was near impossible to see anyone at Club Intimacy unless you arrived really early. The lines for food, beer, and bathrooms were constantly a long wait, but the worst part was the short sets of the comedians. Most comics did 15 minutes of material. Zach Galafinakas did less than 10. I wouldn't go to this event next year if it was free.

This event was very poorly arranged and having it at the pier was a bad choice. The comedians were good, there's no doubt about that, but we weren't even able to see all of them due to the closing one of the stages for being overcrowded. I also have to believe that they oversold tickets because people were packed like sardines. Unless this was held at a different venue and huge adjustments are made, I will not be going next year or recommending this to anyone.

This event was awesome. And it was worth the $100 bucks to see that much comedy in a short amount of time. The only reason why this event lost a star was that it was way too crowded. I spent more of my time being shoved, squeezing through small areas, and being stepped on than being able to enjoy all of the comedic acts. I definitley had some bruised feet when I got home. I think it was an awesome concept and it was the coolest thing I've ever done related to seeing comedy. The only thing I would suggest for next time would be either selling less tickets, moving it to a larger venue. Maybe a different beer than new castle too haha. And maybe cheaper than $9. That's steep for a beer.

This event was extremely disappointing! I couldn't get back to the 'club intimacy' tent to see the stand up performers. Additionally, the 'omega stage' where there were super loud music performances was right across from the 'mighty tent' where there was more comedy. So when Mr. Show was performing I could barely hear a word! It was such a bummer!! I wish I hadn't wasted my money. Its a shame because on paper this event looked absolutely spectacular and then in actuality its was horrible.

First of all, I was one of the first people to buy tickets. Only later did I find out that performers were doing 15-30 minutes of material, and there would be more than one stage. In my mind, it was smaller than it actually was. It turned out that 9,000 people attended this event, in an extremely small space on the pier's parking lot area. On top of that tickets were over $100 including the famous ticketmaster service charges! I don't think I would attend again. Not that much laughing per dollar spent.

My boyfriend and I could only stay at the Festival for about 15 minutes. Horrendously long beer and bathroom lines, and just way too packed. It's sad to pay $100 for a ticket and not even be able to see the acts you want, since the Intimacy Stage area was full. Too small a space and horrible planning. I heard lots of grumblings from other patrons, too.

Badly run, and uncomfortable place to have it. No where to sit, and you couldn't hear the jokes when there were some. Too much music, not enough comedy.

Someone fell asleep at the wheel planning this event. The line to get in was crazy long, and took about 45 minutes. Once inside. there were three main tents where the acts performed. The stand up comedian tent, named Club Intimacy, was separate from the rest of the festival. It required leaving the fenced off area, crossing through a public pier area, and re-entering another fenced off area. This process caused a huge bottleneck at both the exit and entrance. Local police came and told people to turn around because they were at capacity. I saw a lot of people leave the area, and I personally missed two comedians I had hoped to see before I finally got in. Later, Mr. Show performed, but Adam Sandler was performing at the same time within earshot. The two performances drowned each other out making it very hard to hear what was going on. Additionally they started playing Sandler's set on these large screens on both sides of Mr. Show's stage. It was a mess. There were some good acts, and the final Tenacious D set was great, but I paid over $100 for this show and felt like I got about $35 worth of value.

Eric Idle and Billy Idol shared the stage. Bands played at alternating times on alternating stages and each stage was broadcast so you could stay in one spot and not actually miss a thing. Conan showed up. The Lonely Island headlined UNANNOUNCED. It was incredible.

Many different comedy and musical acts, and I enjoyed all of them. Great surprise to see Conan O'Brian and other cool unannounced guests. Free video games in the arcade were an added bonus. Good food selections for this type of event. The only downside was having the ability to easily move from one stage to another in order to catch all the acts.

Incredibly poor organization and execution. After waiting in line over an hour and missing the performer we mainly wanted to see we bailed after seeing a poor setup with overcrowded tents and no seating. I would very much like my money back for this.

Musical comedy events like this never happen, and should more often, so it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of a premiere such as Festival Supreme. I can see this evolving every year to include more and more great acts that weren't a part of this first experience. I could list names, but if you are reading this review, then I'm sure you can think of a bunch yourself, whether you were a part of this first annual event or wished you could've been. The reason I only gave 4 stars and not five was twofold. The first is due to the organization of the event. I believe it was completely overbooked. I read that there were 9000 people that attended in total and that blows my mind. The line itself once I got in it around 2:30 took about an hour and by the time I was halfway to the gate, it had doubled in size behind me. Then of course more lines that kept increasing inside to get food and beer, this actually wasn't too bad, but what really chaffed my groin was the fact that they were mostly cash only!! In this day and age of Digital currencies on the rise and pretty much everyone having a paypal account or at least a debit/credit account used to pay for transactions online, you would thing a major event like this would better cater to this fact. I suppose I listed the second with the cash only bit. But a third gripe would be that there were multiple schedule conflicts and too short of sets for some and seemingly too long sets for others. For my part I could've just lived the entire event through in the Mighty Tent. I got to see Eric Idle in person as well as the Mighty Boosh and The Mr. Show reunion! Any the fact that Scott Ian and Brendon Small came on as Titanica guitarists blew my mind! I just wish there was a place to go after each guests sets to get autographs and take pics with them. I did get a pic, albeit a blurry one, of Tom Kenny and myself, but that was after lingering around and waiting for just that right moment while Tim & Eric's set was ongoing. So overall I had myself a blast at the Festival Supreme and would more than likely go again depending on the line-up. I hope they release a compilation DVD of all the material and sell at a decent price soon so I can see everyone that I missed out seeing.

I traveled all the way from Texas on road to see this event and it was completely worth it. All the acts did great, well the ones i saw at least. I do like it was put together, much like several music festivals I've been too. Mighty Boosh was the main reason i was going but i am a big fan of everyone there. I hope to see this event happen again and it was cool to be apart of the potential beginnings of somethings magical lol. Great job and I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as i did.

The venue was great! Could probably have been bigger considering the turnout.....but was still great! Especially, since they had everything up on the big screen in the central most point of the floor, so everyone could always catch what was going on.....even in line for food/drink! The unbelievable seven hour line-up of of 16 different comedy/music performers was absolutely incredible! Never mind the unexpected guests! Jack Black is genius to have put it all together!! It was funny & fantastic & so much fun from start to finish! Hands down, Megan Mullally & Stephanie Hunt's band NANCY AND BETH gave the best performance of the festival! Finger's crossed that the 2013 Festival Supreme was really the First Annual! I'll definitely be there next yr, if they put it all together again!

I had a great time at the Festival Supreme. There should have been better thought into the venue layout though. The Mighty Tent caused a choke point for people trying to walk to the Intimacy Stage or the bathrooms. If there was a clearly marked pathway with employees making people walk it would not have been as bad. With no one getting people to move, there was quite a bit of crowding on the side of the Mighty tent making the walk past the tent slow and tedious. Then there was the issue of when you made it past the huge crowd of people to get to the intimacy tent, they sent you back the other way because the tent was full. Having big names like Patton Oswald, Demetri Martin, Sarah Silverman, and Tim Minchin on a stage like that made it impossible to reach because it was always full. Although this review might seem all negative, I did enjoy it and would go again. Hopefully they have it at a bigger venue, or they learn from these mistakes and make stages more accessable.

This comedy festival was a nice idea, but there were way too many people in way too small of a space. Since the "festival" was actually not that big, really only one stage was going at a time, with people shuffling back and forth between them. I never made it to "Club Intimacy" which was the smaller third stage, but given that I was unable to move around at the other stages, or while trying to get a refreshment, or while trying to go to the bathroom, I'm not sure how much more intimate I wanted to get. I'm a tall guy and have a little perspective, and basically the entire pier was a bunch of lines. To get from one stage to another meant cutting through 15 different lines that went from one side of the pier to the other. After 7 pm, the lines coagulated into a big mass shifting back and forth between stage 1 and stage 2. The only beer available at that point was Heineken, which was unfortunate, but probably also a reflection that the festival organizers oversold and didn't adequately plan for the crowds. All the performers were really funny of course. Not to take it for granted, but of course they were funny. These were some illustrious names, including Adam Sandler who isn't exactly easy to catch these days. Zach Galifinakas was the big dumb loser of the night; he mumbled through a 10 minute set while people hollered at him to speak up. When he left the stage there was almost no applause, just thousands of fans reflecting in silence on his futility.

I attended for my husband's birthday gift. Who knew I was the one that would feel so treated. Everything was awesome I don't even know where to begin. The Mighty Boosh that my daughter was soooooo jealous missing. I thought there creativity and artistic balance was out of this world. A new group for me though I understand the have been around for a while. I had to pinch myself repeatedly to recognize I was in the presence and only feet away from Black, Zach (I will mess up his name for sure), Silverman, Sandler, and Idol x 2 OMG and even more! Each artist is so amazing and so talented I can only say thank you thank you thank you.

The event was oversold, it was so crowded I felt like I was in a traffic jam of people. Merch wasn't stocked enough and sold out way too fast. It was nearly impossible to see the stage, which would've been okay if the bigscreens were higher. They were just as tall as the stage so they were pretty pointless. The sound was shitty and you couldn't hear it very far. Sets were way too short. I flew pretty far for this event and was really heartbroken that I didn't really get to see the acts I wanted. Quality is always better than quantity.

The artists were great but the event was way oversold which made an uncomfortable experience for everyone. If they plan another one, it should be in a much larger space. Thanks for the Boosh though. It almost made the pain of standing in a crush of people for 7 hours bearable.

So. Many. People. Dear god. If it hadn't been for Beardyman and Lonely Island, I don't think it would have been worth the ulcer. Also, who's brilliant idea was it to put all the big screens (except for one) at stage level? If I can't see the stage, I PROBABLY CANT SEE THOSE EITHER. Other than that, everything was totally super amazing.

Way too expensive. Wasn't really advertised that it was music only. I thought it would be more stand up which is what I was looking for. I don't need to see Fred Armisen as a British punk rocker for an hour. And some acts were way too short. Zach Galifianakis performed for less than 10 minutes.

This was advertised as music and comedy, but should have been advertised as musical comedy. Was very misleading. And not funny. The line up was a tease bc only one guy actually did stand up. The rest sang along to bands. The set up was not well thought out. The bathrooms were by the biggest tent, which made it near impossible to get to. People were complaining left and right about how horrible it was. The only people I heard laughing were the guys that were completely stoned. The show did get better with Zach G and Triumph the dog. But those two alone were not worth the $100 general admission tix.

$100 ticket should get you in with the ability to actually see/hear the performers. Or get a beer without a 50 minute wait. Or walk to the next tent. They oversold the venue but so much we were packed in like sardines. Usually impossible to even move one foot. Going from one tent to the next to see the next performer was not possible, even with a 30 minute lead time. For one performer we waited for 30 mins before the show and were able to get a couple hundred feet away, but the sound system was so low we couldn't hear anything. Then add in the audio bleed from nearby stages and the whole thing was awful. God awful. Most people there were extremely angry and wanted refunds. We ended up leaving after 90 minutes of seeing nothing.

After traveling from Seattle and really looking forward to it, I can't begin to say how disappointing this was. I am used to festivals but was amazed at the lack of planning from beginning to end. From the long line to get in (without any festival staff directing) to the skinny lanes around the Mighty Tent for bathrooms and drinks, it was a logistical nightmare. It seemed way oversold. (in fact, they even ran out of sponsor beer with about 4 hours to go.) The sound from the main stage blocked out the sound in the Mighty Tent. The video there should have been of the act in the TENT, not of the main stage. Perhaps the joke was on me as I didn't realize most of the acts would present their musical side projects-yes that's what Tenacious D does and does it well, but I didn't think everyone else would do the same. It became tedious. You would think that the lineup of incredibly talented individuals would know that you can't just put on a wig, strap on a guitar and call it funny. For the high ticket price, it needs a total organizational overhaul.

Firs the traffic tried to destroy the Metal, but the Metal did not fall. Then the Parking tried to slow the Metal, but the Metal, strike it down! Then the Logistical Snafus tried to wreck the metal, but... you get the point. This event, hosted by Jack Black and Kyle Gass, was an event that lived up to its epic moniker, Festival Supreme! The idea of doing an entire outdoor festival-style event centered around Musical Comedy sounded like a stretch, but the lineup was so astoundingly awesome for the cost of the ticket ($99), that I had to give it a shot. For a first time event of this magnitude there was a few logistical things they could do better next time, but overall it was such a great time, I easily forgot the problems. To see Adam Sandler live, along with Triumph, Conan, Megan Mullally, David Cross & Bob Odenkirk, and The Mighty Boosh was enough to make me forget the impossible crowds and lines for things. Adam Sandler was in rare form, but it seemed that he and a few others that performed that day seemed taken aback by the sheer crowds. Zack Galafiankis had what seemed like a short set, and he never played the piano, which would have been perfect for a comedic music fest. The Mr. Show Experience was awesome but the Dave & Bob seemed put off a bit by the problems with feedback and the sound. I personally didn't have a problem hearing them, but the way that the stage was set up meant that the sound from the opposite stage was blaring in the background. I really enjoyed the Mr. Show guys, and I really hope they weren't so put off as to not do an event like this in the future. The Finally was pretty epic with awesome musicianship and perfect comedic timing. The Lonely Island guys were an especially cool surprise and they put on an excellent show of their own (which amounted to a mini-set in the middle of the Tenacious D's set). The problems with the event, which included having to leave one part of the venue to get the Club Intimacy tent & Arcade was inconvenient, and the work being done on the roads made it ridiculously hard to find parking, and the mile long line to get into venue, which would have been a real problems for another less-than-epic festival, all seemed to pale in light of the sheer talent and enthusiasm of the performers. I hope the Metal will find it's was back to Santa Monica again this time next year, and if it does, I'll be the first in line.

I was expecting a LOT from these acts, based on their standup and previous reputations. Problem 1: Tenacious D does musical comedy very well, pretty much every other act appearing here does not. It's not their thing, and so they did not do it well. I would have infinitely preferred to see an actual comedy festival of standup by these acts, rather than all of them trying to emulate Tenacious D. Problem 2: It was unclear on the promotional materials that this wasn't a normal comedy festival with standup by these acts. It should have been. I probably would not have come. Problem 3: The logistics were horrifying mismanaged, the event was obscenely oversold, they had technical problems left and right, there were literally four picnic tables for 8,000 people, the bathrooms were nightmarish, there were no easy paths to get any where, just excessive lines and crowds. Biggest disappointments: Bob & David were good until they left the stage and their friends took over, Triumph was terrible, Adam Sandler was just tragically bad, Zach Galifianakis was racist in a crazily unfunny way and only did ten minutes, and Fred Armisen just pretended to be a british rocker, which was not funny in any way shape or form. Seriously, we discussed it at length: there's no way it was funny. Silver lining: Two comedians that actually did comedy and not poor attempts at musical comedy were hilarious: Patton Oswalt and Hannibal Buress stand out.

This is my second year at Festival Supreme. The first year my friend and I parked ourselves at the standup stage and had an amazing time--especially sincethere is so much audience turnover between sets that you can edge your way closer to the stage. This year we explored more and had a blast. From comedy music shows with Tenacious D, Tig Nataro and Bill Burr doing standup then playing music to the wedding chapel in which great comedians officiate ceremonies (brett geler shot the shit with me and my friend for a few seconds!).

My friend and I went mostly for the stand-up comedy in the auditorium. Everyone was killing it at this show. We did not catch most of the outside stages--though we did step out to catch Bo Burnham. From the little we experienced from the outside, it was almost as great. Tough to see if you are not very tall (like myself) but the time between shows was seamless. An act at one end would finish and an act at the other end would start almost immediately. The sound was pretty decent for outside. Inside was perfect. The one bummer. Drunk History. After seeing the amazing guests for Comedy Bang Bang AND the great performance, my friend and I figured we would stick around to see what Drunk History might bring--we also had managed to gradually move up to the second row. They tanked pretty hard. While I know this happens for all forms of art--people bomb. This show felt as if it was haphazardly thrown together. Maybe not. The videos was fun to watch, but the stage time was a bummer. The night improved as we caught the end of Tenacious D and all of The State. The night was so chill and fun, I give the event 5 stars even with the one bummer act. Only one crummy act out of 15-ish performances we got to see. Pretty damn good.

Great event! The best thing I can say about Festival Supreme is that there were acts I really wanted to see but couldn't--because I was watching someone else perform. The lineup was solid from the beginning until the end. The afternoon stand-up comics were hilarious. I loved the variety of music acts. I'm first in line to buy tickets to FS'15!

This event was a must-do for fans of comedy. The major draw for me was the set by MTV's The State comedy troupe! The stages were nice, easy to get seats or a good standing spot, and the venue was spacious so you never felt too crowded in. The schedule made it hard to pick and choose what to see since lots of the hot acts overlapped, but the sets were staggered so nobody was ever "overpowering" somebody on an adjacent stage. My biggest complaint was the price of concessions -- $7 for a slice of cheese pizza and $4 for a small bottle of water was absolutely ridiculous. Why do that? I would've bought more concessions if they had been reasonably priced. Overall, this was one of the best run festivals I've ever been to. Can't wait for next year!

Loved the venue this year at the Shrine Auditorium as the first year was a bit too small (though cool on the pier). The lineup didn't seem to be as good however; perhaps more hardcore comedic fans would have known them all, but I am more of a casual watcher and didn't recognize many of the names. The first year, many superstars such as Adam Sandler, Lonely Island, Sara Silverman, and many others that I recognized were there; this year the names were less recognizable to someone who's a bit out of tune with pop culture (though the performers were still very good and I now have more favorite comedians, and will download their skits on amazon!). i think it's still a great event but less of a star factor

I was excited to go to this festival, since I'm a huge fan of many of the comedians on the bill. However, with the exception of the all-too-professional Maria Banford - the show was a bust. I'm not even sure why Janine Gerafalo was there - she's not funny and she didn't write any jokes, neither did TJ Miller. This show is not worth the price. So glad we didn't splurge and get the VIP tix - or this review would have been much worse.

Lame show. I was looking forward to it too.. I can believe something like that costed 120?! Parking was an extra 20. Most of the comedians were not on ball, and everyone was mostly promoting themselves. Dethklok was the saving grace. Brendon is a genius! Next time I'll save my time and money and go to a Dethklok show, where the prices aren't outrageous and the show is phenomenal. Stop robbing your fans Jack!

This years event was Fantastic!! I will certainly recommend anyone looking for a good mix of comedy and music make the trek to Festival Supreme!!! The layout this year was improved over the conditions on the pier last year, especially the entrance circumstances! I was completely entertained from 2pm when I walked in the door until 11:55pm when my Uber driver picked me up. I will be back next year, traveling from JAX To LAX - that's Jacksonville FL, to Los Angeles, CA - it was worth it. Hi five Jack Black!!!

it was crowded as hell, but i had VIP tickets so had access to the comfortable, spacious private lounge to get away from things when i needed to. there were so many acts, i missed a lot of them due to overlapping of my favorites. the main reason i went - the Mighty Boosh - were fantastic; only wish they'd been able to play more than a half hour set. Reggie Watts was infectious, Eric Idle was hilarious (with a walk-on from Billy Idol; a strange but great combination) and Tenacious D REALLY kicked ass! the weather was great and the location - right on the Santa Monica Pier - was perfect. any large event will be very crowded so i can't consider that a negative.

They sold waaaay too many tickets to make this event a good one. Hopefully since this was the first one they can iron out some issues before they hold it again. The pier was just not the right set up for what they had in mind. One tent you couldn't ever get into because it was too small for the thousands of people. Not to mention the sound system was all messed up, in some places you couldn't hear them at all. But, the absolute worse was the overcrowding!! We left early (after 8 plus hours) due to the poor set up.

It felt like there was little consideration for the folks that they packed into such a small area. No places to sit, too small of spaces to hear acts, audio from main stage overshadowed other tents. flow of acts created bottlenecks....all of this made even the best of fans throw their hands up in defeat and leave early. For $116 ticket it felt like a huge rip off. Money hungry with no thought to the experience of the folks attending. Not funny.

The music was the best part. However, there were a lot of things that made the experience not as great. First off, the stage noise would clash. Adam Sandler was singing Halloween Songs while The Mr. Show Experience was trying to put on a Mr. Show. They put the best stand up comics in the smallest stage possible and closed off the entrance when it filled to capacity. I was really upset about that. There was also no where to sit and the lighting was terrible. People didn't know to lookout when they walk. Not enough bar stations. People waiting in like for 30+min to get a beer. Ridiculous. It also got very cold at night. What I did like about it was the TV feeds of the stages, so you could still see acts without rushing across the pier for a spot.

I was really looking forward to Festival Supreme. I wondered how they would pull it off, but figured it would be a success. Well, think again. The part of the pier that hosted the festival was MUCH to small for the amount of tickets that were sold. At one point, after Beardyman, there was a total traffic jam of people from the Club Intimacy tent to the regular part of the festival. No one could even take a step without forcibly pushing another out of the way. We didn't bother even going to that tent again. Getting food or water was pretty much out of the question unless you were in for a long wait. To get a bottle of water you had to stand in a LONG line with all of the people trying to get beer. The acts themselves didn't impress me (with the exception of Beardyman, Zach G. and Triumph). Comedians trying to be musicians generally didn't work for me. Zach G was actually hysterical during his standup (the only straightforward standup act their was) but it was only 15 minutes long. It really made no sense. There weren't enough seats. I was hungry. The acts generally weren't funny. That's about it. No need to give it another go next year.

This was definitely a fun event. The events at the open stage were the best by far. This stage was high enough that you could get a pretty good view from anywhere in the crowd and the openness of the standing area allowed the sound to carry through the entire venue. The smaller, covered stages, however, produced disappointing experiences. The tents tended to feel overcrowded and confined, and the stages were so low that there was usually no way to see the stage from even the middle of the crowded tent. Even the monitors were only half-visible from the middle of the audience. While all of the acts were funny, it was disappointing that some acts gave such short performances. We could not figure out if this was the choice of the performers or if organizers were telling them to cut things short -- sometimes the latter seemed to be the case. If this event happens again, I think it might be more effective to have only one line-up, and to just keep things confined to the main stage and have performers do full sets.

For the first of its kind, the Festival Supreme was a definite success. There were things that could be improved upon: (1) technical difficulties abound, especially toward the beginning of the show; (2) sets were too short, allowing no build to huge laughs (because comedy isn't music, stories require context to have comedic value); (3) oversold the venue, hard to move around from stage to stage. I would say that the experience was worthwhile overall for a couple of reasons: (1) the curated comedians/musicians and surprise guests were amazing (e.g., Mighty Boosh cast, Mr. Show cast, Conan O'Brien, Zach Galifianakis); (2) where else can you get together so many die-hard comedy fans who appreciate obscure comedic acts; (3) the killer closing act by Tenacious D.

oi! waking up with a comedy hangover..If y'all weren't Festival Supreme than y'all missed out on one of the greatest nights in comedy/Music. I laughed my ass off for 7 straight hours & got to see every comedian I wished to see including my queen Sarah Silverman, Reggie Watts, Triumph the insult Comic Dog, Craig Robinson, Garfunkel and Oates, Tig Notaro, The Mighty Boosh, One of the founding members of The Monty Python crew: The legendary Eric Idle, as well as awesome guest appearance by Billy Idol, Conan O'brien, & The Lonely Island. Awesome ass night & an amazing way to cap my year of shows/concerts this year. The only cons about the show were having to stand all day & perhaps overbooking the area cause there were a lot of people squeezed in there but I managed. Overall an amazing night which I will not soon forget.

It was a good location idea on the pier and good talent on the bill. Reggie Watts was sick! He came out strong. He's funny and can bust out some serious improvised songs on his equipment he uses. Some sets were too short. Especially Zach Galafianakis! He did stand up for 10 minutes and left. No musical numbers included in his set. I was disappointed. I enjoyed Triumph. He was mean and his set was all around intentionally hacky. His musical numbers were rhythmically off tempo but still hilarious. Awesome to see Conan O'Brian come out and make a cameo! Mr Show's set was a technical disaster and this was one of the sets I wanted to see the most. There was a bunch of mic feedback and hard to hear what they were saying over Adam Sandler playing at the same time on the other side of the venue. If you were in the back of the crowd, you were hating it. The jumbo screens also started showing Adam Sandler's stage for a few minutes. I enjoyed what I could understand. The D killed it. Their sound was supreme and energy was awesome. It was a great ending to the festival. Thanks Rage Cage and Jaybles!

It's not everyday you get the opportunity to pay more than $100 to conduct intense people-watching at a comedy music event filled with grimacing faces. Whether it was the 30 minutes it took to get a beer, the impossibility of even reaching Club Intimacy (which accounted for 1/3 of the show), or the brief and lackluster performances of some of the top-billed talent (I'm looking at you, Zach), Festival Supreme failed to live up to its promise and proved that the Santa Monica Pier is a venue that should only be utilized by planning experts throwing extremely exclusive events. Don't even get me started on the bizarre fact that you couldn't take alcoholic beverages between areas or the incredibly poor A/V system. Essentially, the event should have incorporated two stages, with acts occurring in sequence as opposed to simultaneously to deliver 6 straight hours of awesome music and comedy. Instead, the hit-or-miss nature of the performances, over-crowded seating, and challenges of even reaching certain areas made us feel as though we were on the periphery of the event, never quite close enough to hear properly or be in on the joke.

First, it was billed as "comedy and music" when really it was comedians making music. Not a biggie, but thought it would be a mix of standup. Second, the logistics were a fail: one tent was completely closed off, the screen setup meant that if someone ran long, someone what got drowned out. The beverage lines were insane and the ticket price--in light of all of that--was a ripoff. If they do it again, it needs to be a proper venue with a rotating stage that can handle the crowd. Extra points for a mobile cell tower.

As I was wobbling forward in line, awaiting my turn to be frisked, I got this semi-psychotic fear out of nowhere that this was all too good to be true. I thought to myself that this must be gigantic trap to rid the world of chubby geeks and hipster scum dogs and that I just drove 12 straight hours over night just to meet a horrible death just inside the gates. Luckily for me it was just a moment of delusionary fun brought on by sleep deprivation and I was able to enjoy the next 7 hours, being fueled by only excitement and deep admiration for all the acts I was luckily enough to experience right there in person! Yes is was extra sweaty due to the weird warm foggy-muggy weather, extra crowded due to all the cheap A-holes pushing their way passed the security and the general ambiance of alcohol fed unsolicited critiques from my fellow audience members over who is more relevant and other pretentious comparisons to cochilla and whatever exclusive bs they've attended in the past, but I digress. It seemed that every conversation with a fellow audience member quickly turned into a 'whose Pen-15 is bigger contest' on who-knew-of-who first and who-loves-who-more rather than just actually appreciating the fact that we're all together here to share a mutual love for what we are about to experience, and that we are flippin fortunate to even experience such a crazy line up in the first place but again, I digress. Case in point, all the acts were effin awesome and I fucking loved it. I would have liked to be able to have seen Mr.Show but I had it with the stupid A-holes in the tent and decided to leave to watch Sandler as they booed Adam Sandler and openly aired their stupid critiques like a bunch of mindless monkeys, making the whole audio mishap that happened later for Mr.Show EXTRA HILARIOUS! Karma rocks so hard sometimes. Well anyway the vibes from the crowd loosened way up during Sandlers set and the rest of the night was an absolute fun frenzy of supreme excellence and Jack Black can still wail like a M-effer Boosh, Idle/Idol, Watts, all brought it like mad as well! It was seriously righteous!

I had one highlight of the night and that was seeing Beardyman live at a comfortable distance and the sound was awesome! His set was a bit short but he jam packs it with talent so I wasn't mad at it. The act before him was so bad I couldn't believe it and every minute that cut into Beardyman's set made me very mad. Because it also cut into the time I could have been watching Reggie Watts. Luckily the sound at Club Intimacy was on point (at least for the Beardyman set). I then left to catch the last of Reggie Watts who is always awesome but I saw maybe the last few minutes. I was so disappointed I had to choose between Beardyman and Reggie Watts. They were the 2 main reasons I went. I was also sold on Zach Galifinakis being there. I expected a longer set with him being on the piano. Just wasn't so. He did maybe 5 minutes of comedy that I couldn't hear very well. The sound at the Mighty Tent was awful and I can just go on complaining about how oversold it was and how unorganized it was but I'll leave that to everyone else. I'd give 1 star but I did enjoy seeing Beardyman. Bottom line, the acts were great, everything else was so very bad.

It really showed that this was the first time running the event. The lines were poorly organized, the bike valet was setup an hour into the event, and it was overcrowded to the point where you could not transition into the Stand Up stage. Not to mention Zach Galifianakis doing a whopping 10 minutes of stand up.

This festival was very disorganized and I vote for a different venue if held again in the future. Upon arriving, my friend and I went to buy beer and because there were so few tents the lines were outrageous. Also, by the time we got to the front of the line, they were already sold out of a lot of the alcohol choices even including the sponsored beer, Newcastle. After getting our beer, we made our way to the Intimacy Tent to see some stand-up and were told that we could not get to that part of the venue with alcohol in hand. Thus, we were forced to chug our newly purchased beers and ultimately couldn't even make it into the venue because the line was so long at the entrance. There is no reason they couldn't have roped off the walk to the tent so that we could take our beverages with us. In the end, we didn't get to see any event in that tent. Furthermore, the pathways to the different events were so slim that you literally had to push your way through. There was one set of porta potties only and it was in a very awkward part of the venue, which again was very difficult to get to. This made lasting through the entire festival quite difficult. In the end, we did stay until the final event and really enjoyed all of the acts we could see on the main stage. (Most of the acts were decent, but most of them you couldn't even get to.) I would suggest finding a larger and more spread out venue next time. Instead of having small tents, I would suggest setting up three big stages and having it open so that anyone can try to see the show. Maybe even have a set of alcohol tents and porta potties seperate for each stage. Lastly, this event was too expensive for what it was. I enjoyed all of the events I managed to see, but that was so few that it made it not worthwhile. Zach Galifianakis' set ended too early and was all of his old material, but Adam Sandler, Tenacious D, Lonely Island and Triumph were very good. Unfortunately, those are the only acts I could get to and for $99 I would have liked to see more than just 4 performances.

I was really looking forward to going to this comedy fest. The lineup was amazing, all of these awesome acts all in one show, and the fact that it was taking place 2 miles from my apartment, even better. My friend and I got to Santa Monica Pier just before 3pm, but we didn't get into the venue for about 40 minutes because the line was massively long, and everyone was trying to get into the one entrance with 6 people checking id's. Once we got in, we did get to see a few great acts, but the "Club Intimacy" tent was inaccessible the entire show because it was at capacity, so we didn't get to see Demitri Martin, Patton Oswald, or Will Forte. Even just walking over there from the main stages was nearly impossible. However, towards the end of the show, seeing Adam Sandler, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (with Conan), and Tenacious D (with the Lonely Island), was pretty amazing, and almost made up for the logistical nightmare the festival was. It was definitely worth seeing the acts that we did get to see, but I probably wouldn't go again. Definitely needed a bigger venue for that many people, and a more thought out layout.
