From the very moment the Band (Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Donckel) hit the stage the energy at The Riviera was phenomenal. They played songs that spanned their catalog of great music. The whole show was amazing from start to finish.

This was my third trip to see Air perform live at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. I have been fortunate to be front-row at every performance; this one just topped them all. The lighting & visuals have progressed dramatically; they even played some classic Air favorites that the band performed on their last stop in Chicago nearly 3 years ago, which I did not anticipate. All the songs were performed sharply & concise; just like the Frenchmen's manner of dress.

As pioneers of the ambient upbeat, AIR proved they truly have what it takes! Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed their jam session of La Femme D'Argent. Wish I had the money to go on tour with them! AIR is my favorite band and I can't wait to hear more from these talented Frenchies!! xo

Air performed admirably, but as for the venue, that's another question. The beautiful old theater could use a little love and care. But what really stood out for me, as a sound engineer was painful to hear. After the second song the left speaker went out, for about one third of the song That was a shame, because you can see the band react to it but they pulled through. And the vocals were buried below most of the songs. The visuals were excellent, besides being synced to the songs graphic designs with top-notch. Air is a top-notch world-class band, I would highly recommend them to anyone.

So, my brother and I stroll into the Riv an hour after the show was scheduled to start... As we get to the door I receive a text that reads, "AM is already off the stage, where are you?" We see a mutual acquaintance at the door with his younger sister. I tell them that we missed the opener and he replies, "There was an opening band?" We find a great spot by a mini-bar near the left of the stage and from the first song to the last song of the encore I was absolutely amazed at how well AIR is live. They should be filling arenas or opening for Roger Waters. I will see AIR every time they come to a city where I'm living.

From prior reviews one would conjecture that the show would leave you dissatisfied; our European friends aloof and cold. I found the opposite to be true. They played their hearts out, shared sweet candor with the crowd, and gave an amazing encore, building up L'Femme d' Argent until the frequencies shook the house with love. For a chilled-out crowd on a Wednesday night in Chi-Chi, the performance exceeded my expectations.

I've never heard of AIR before - I went to the show to see the opening artist, AM. I enjoyed AM's set, but I was not impressed by AIR. They have no stage presence, I wondered at times if they had a pulse. The vocals were very low, so it sounded like mumbling. The majority of the show was very slow, very mellow, to the point that I wished I had a chair to sit in. The encore set was much better, more upbeat. I felt the ticket was way overpriced, and I wouldn't pay to see them again live. I'm going to borrow my friend's CD, because they struck me as more of a studio act rather than a live act.

I had minimum exposure to AIR before the concert but their sound was unique and promising. The concert turned out to be amazing. AIR's music is truly a wonderful journey full of nostalgia and passion. Their frenetic blend of spatial sounds and guitar reverberation was mind-blowing and put everyone in a convulsive trance. If you like their music, you'll love them live.

This was one of the best shows I have ever seen. They brought high energy when appropriate and emotion through expression. I was right up front on the rail in front of Jean-Bonoit. I would recommend their shows to anyone! It s a groovy breath of fresh AIR.

Great to see a legendary European synth band in the heartland. Air delivered a solid, seamless rock show complete with 'modern aesthetic' visual enhancements. I wish I had procured mind altering substances just for the pretty lights and pictures. However, the over-priced beer seemed to work adequately. Air presented a beautiful, slick show that completely met my expectations. I expected to see two thin, neatly dressed, Euro metro sexuals surrounded by synthesisers and keyboards, swaying (not dancing or head bobbing) under a thoroughly space-age visual presentation. I bought a tee shirt (one size was all they offered). Thank goodness I'm not a large person, or I might have had to sew it on as a patch. Love the 'paper doll' figures and paper musical equipment set; brilliant piece of marketing and memorabilia!

This was my first Air concert and I thought it was absolutely amazing, beautiful and well done!! I was in the floor the whole time and I extremely enjoyed myself. The light effect was brilliant, and as always they show there originality.

This was my first Air show because this band rarely comes to the US. I was expecting a fulfilling show, mostly of their hits, but instead the crowd was bored because the band looked bored. The band looked happy only when the crowd started cheering, when they played a hit. I don't understand why the band just didnt play hits only. The show was a complete waste of time.
