Great event in a terrific city. This was our first time in Cleveland, at the Hall of Fame, and the The Cleveland Public Auditorium and Conference Center. Very well run concert event (with the possible exception of too few security points of entrance). I would have liked to see a bigger Red Carpet viewing area (especially considering the weather), but that didn't dampen (see what I did there?) our enthusiasm for an outstanding show. Yes it was 5 hours, but we're music nerds.... it was amazing!

What a night, what an event, what a lifetime of memories!!!! My musical heroes reach the Promised Land of Earful Delights, as they are enshrined forever with the Masters of Music!! So much better in person to see and hear history being made in front of your eyes and ears!!

Everyone was fantastic, but highlights were Cat Stevens, the Linda Ronstadt tribute and my favorites Hall & Oates. While I enjoyed Bruce and the E-Street band, their long windedness of speeches really put a damper on the show. We were hoping for a big jam at the end, but it was over after Nirvana, possibly because the curfew was broken, according to one of the ushers who worked at Barclays.

other than the E Streeters and their insufferable self-indulgence killings the show for well over an hour, it was SPECTACULAR. Their song selection needs to be revisited aswrell. NOBODY wants obscure deep album tracks at a festival.

None of these will be the same from year to year, but for 2014, allowing the E Street Band to eat up an hour by themselves was way, way, waaaay too long. Producers should have been more ruthless about speech times. Given the home crowd, the ESB should have closed the evening instead of Nirvana if the Rock Hall was going to let Bruce & Co. go as long as they wanted. The show went so long, the all-star jam that typically concludes these inductions was called off, which was disappointing - especially after Kiss declined to perform.

It was an amazing night from Cat Stevens, Hall & Oates and Nirvana were to die for! The only down side was the E Street Band's hour long speeches and choice of songs.

The induction was awesome with the exception of no jam session at the end. Pick a new venue if its going to have a curfew.

E-Street hogged (not stole) the night, uggh, talk about boring. Hall and Oates, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, and Linda Ronstadt tribute were great. Was absolutely incredible to see surviving Nirvana members play songs with guest singers. One of, if not THE best sounding venue I have ever been to.

4 RT tickets to NYC 3 nights in a Manhattan hotel Watching the E-Street Band get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with our teenage daughters (18 and 15): PRICELESS!! It was a surprise for my husband and worked out perfectly. The girls had never been to a Bruce concert, and they got WAY more than that. Peter Gabriel, tribute to Linda Rondstat, Cat Stevens, the E-Street Band, and Nirvana. The only disappointment was Hall and Oates, though Questlove's induction speech was entertaining. Tom Morello and Chris Martin were awesome as well. The speeches by the E-Street Band probably went on a little too long, but as a die hard fan, I didn't mind. The only regret is that there was no All-Star jam at the end (although Nirvana and E-Street made up for it). Probably because the speeches took too long and they ran out of time. All in all, an amazing evening!

The event was great! The speeches were a bit much; however, they earned it!!! Barclay's Center is a great venue! The sound could have been better; however, we were seated at the very top of the stadium - maybe it was better down on the floor.

The whole show was exceptionally enjoyable EXCEPT, the E -Street band kidnapped the entire show for over a hour and change. This was not the E Street show. The speeches were to be between 30 seconds and one minute.I could see taking maybe a minute more but come on! The band went on and on and on. This dragged the show way down. The rest of the show was exceptional! A special shout out to Hall And Oates( outstanding) and the tribute to Linda was amazing. All inductees were wonderful. Chris Martin's speech was very funny!

An unforgettable experience!!! Who would have thought I'd be seeing Yusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens, perform live. I bought the VIP package and attended several of the rehearsal sessions, including his. I couldn't get to all of them. Next year, I'm taking time off from work and going to everything. It was an awesome show and an experience of a lifetime. Well worth the very large price tag!!!

Peter Gabriel was incredible and the thread of the E Street Family Tree with David Sancious was a special moment. The Linda Ronstadt tribute was a highlight with those amazing ladies! Bruce's speech was outstanding and the songs played were terrific. Hall & Oats were amazing and funny too. Kiss is and always was a joke and the jerks couldn't even fake liking one another enough to perform. Well I guess that's why they were not in the silly make-up because they can't stand looking at each other without any. Joan Jett kicked ass and she should have kicked Courtney Love's for always being such an idiot and to show her how to rock with dignity and class! Kim Gordon was wild and is a true Rock and Roll goddess! The abrupt ending without the usual all-star jam was very disappointing as was the experience at the arena. The food choices don't come close to the quality that THE Garden or Met-Life Stadium offers. The service was bad at best and the food and drink prices were insane. The acoustics and video screen positions were terrible too. For the price of the ticket you'd think Barclay Center would have provided a real luxury experience. Not so but the historical aspect of the show made up for that.

This was an extraordinary event, and I am so glad to have attended. Cat Stevens and the women covering Linda Ronstadt were the highlights, while the E Street Band interminably droned on--they think they got in on their merits, instead of Bruce's reflected glory, and took over an hour.

I really enjoyed our night at the RRHOF induction ceremony. If I had a chance to change anything, I would like: 1. to have a program; 2. Barclays to have a band to play to get the "thank yous" finished more quickly;" 3. there to be a rousing ending with all the bands singing together, 4. less expensive food and drinks. The show was wonderful, the workers were very polite and energetic and the place was very clean. It was a great night of music!

and no all star jam? The HOF opened this up to the public following years of all the inductees performing in a blow out finale. You can't now pull the plug on that. Weak.

At Tuesday's induction ceremony concert, there was much to delight in. The tribute to Linda Ronstadt, with all those powerful women singing her songs, was wonderful. Seeing Peter Gabriel for the first time, especially in duet with Youssou N'Dour, breathtaking. But then there were the irritants. Great that Kiss was inducted. But to have those treacly speeches replace even one note of music was a letdown. Inducting Cat Stevens, who sounded spectacular, instead of Yusuf Islam was like inducting "Cassius Clay" into the Boxing Hall of Fame. A half hour to repeat the history of the Beatles and Stones through the induction of their managers? And then there was the complete hijacking of the event by Bruce and the E Street Band. The individual speeches made me long for the Oscar orchestra to play someone off. Since I was there in large part to see Hall and Oates, I certainly thought they were shortchanged by having to follow an hour and a half of self-indulgence by the E Streeters. Was Nirvana inducted? By 11:45 I had finally succumbed, so I'll never know.

Sensational and diverse performances. Really interesting and entertaining introduction/induction speeches. But there should be a limit on the length of the acceptance speeches, especially for a whole band. I would definitely go to this event should it return to Barclays Center in the future.

Always wanted to attend ! So glad they finally opened it up to the fans ! The night didn't disappoint ! Chris Martin's Induction speech for Peter Gabriel was the best !! Gabriel's performance was super. Cat Stevens was the surprise of the night, when he sang people rose to their feet and sang along AMAZING !! The other performances were great Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks, Melissa Ehtheridge, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow's tribute to Linda Ronstadt , Bruce & The E Street Band, Hall & Oates, and Nirvana with Joan Jett. Kiss didn't perform and I'm sure that was a huge disappointment to the huge amount of Kiss fans in the audience. It was 5 1/2 hours of Rock n Roll history !! So happy I attended now I can cross this off my bucket list !

This was our 3rd event.: 2013 to see Rush in LA, and last year to see Pearl Jam in Brooklyn. Loved the city of Cleveland, but the show was not nearly as good or as smoothly run as the last 2 we'd been to. Loved the Rock Hall and would reccommend to all. The Auditorium where the ceremony was held, was beautiful, but not set up well for a concert venue as it was long and narrow, and if you were in the back half of the venue on the sides, you had to sit sideways to view, and the stage was a long ways away. Quicken Arena would be awesome for this show, just like the Barclays center in Brooklyn was last year. As far as the show went, it was odd seeing the headliner Bon Jovi go 1st. Usually there's a build up throughout the night, but this was right out of the chute. I don't know if they had to leave to get back out on tour, or if Howard Stern, who inducted them and is claimed to hate Cleveland, wanted to get in and out. Not Sure. Dire Straits having to induct themselves, Mark Knopfler and his brother not showing up, and them not playing any songs, was both strange and very disappointing. Nina Simone's songs were well performed by several artists including Lauren Hill, but her brother seemed to hi-jack the stage for a long time making her induction a racial thing. C'mon, I got cable news for that. We were there for the Cars probably more than anyone and they didn't disappoint. But the night, in our opinion, was stolen by the Moody Blues. I was a casual fan, but left a big fan after their wonderful intro by Ann Wilson of Heart and their great acceptance speeches and performance of 4 or 5 songs. After the Moody Blues performed, the lights came on and we were told that was the end of the show. I was really disappointed in the fact that there was no jam at the end. I thought maybe they'd pick a Dire Straits song to perform, but I wonder if any of the prior performers even stuck around after their turn. Hopefully they get back on track next year. Rooting for Def Leppard to get in.

The venue was beautiful however the way they let people into the building was less than desirable. The show itself was great. Bon Jovi was amazing. The Killers opening the show with the Petty tribute...WOW! The cars were really good. They totally lost us towards the end of the show with Nina Simone s brother on stage for so long dragging it out. We actually ended up leaving before the show was over. But again we mostly got to see who we cane to see. Would ve liked if Moody Blues wasn t last. But overall a once in a lifetime experience

I always said whenever the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame finally inducts Bon Jovi, I want to be there. It was very difficult to obtain tickets for the induction ceremony, but it was worth all the trouble! The vibe at the Rock Hall during the day and the Public Auditorium at night was awesome. We met fans from all over the country and they were there mostly for Bon Jovi but also the Cars and the Moody Blues. All ages and all walks of life. In the auditorium you saw tuxedos and diamond studded gowns (the VIPs) to hoodies and blue jeans (the fans). A great mixture. The inductions and dedications/memorials were interesting to say the least. From Howard Stern's induction of Bon Jovi (which you had to be there to believe what he said) to Dire Straits self-induction and no performance. The performances by Bon Jovi and the Cars were spot one. Great to see Richie singing beside Jon - the way it should be. The Cars sounded great! Ann Wilson performed....her voice was powerful and strong - just like back in the 80s. There were a few slow spots and the night started to drag a little, but after over four hours of entertainment I guess that can be expected. Overall, an awesome night. Can't wait for when another of my favorite rock stars gets the honor of being inducted.....I will be there again. Keep the induction ceremony in Cleveland; it should always be near the Rock Hall.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is always a great tribute to deserving musicians. This was no different. People debate about who is chosen, but in reality any artists are all part of history. I go to the ceremonies whenever i can. It is history and learning. It is respect and appreciation. Bon Jovi, the Cars, the Moody Blues - all were gracious and amazing. Moody Blues playing together 52 years cant be better. I am happy I was there.

worst induction since 2009 when it started in cleveland seriously, you couldnt get anybody to induct dire straits? they had to induct themselves?! You couldnt get a band to perform their songs? yet you have the killer do a tom petty song? no jam at the end? weak all around...class was weak as well..i felt sorry for dire straits! they had to induct themselves?! how disrespectful..

I have seen a lot of these on HBO as well as at the Hall of Fame.....none of the trademark features were there -especially the jam at the end. I found it weird that Dire Straits inducted themselves and not a single Dire Straits song was sung. Moodly Blues sounded great - Bon Jovi rocked it and The Killers did a great tribute to Tom Petty. But overall I was very disappointmed.

Well organized event that moved quickly for the most part. Some parts were sentimental, some were sour grapes (with and without justification), great music overall with the exception of Dire Straits who did not perform, several great speeches (Ann Wilson introducing The Moody Blues was one), some speeches that ran way too long after making their points, but hey, it was all rock and roll and we love it. Cleveland was a wonderful host for this event and the people of Cleveland were so friendly. Wouldn't mind seeing every induction ceremony held in Cleveland. Cleveland Rocks!

A few disappointments this time, but still the best show in town. The diversity of performances is always great as are the induction and acceptance speeches, even if they get a little too long-winded sometimes. Disappointed that Dire Straits was not represented by a performance. Also disappointed that there was no final jam session to end the ceremony. However, allowing each inductee present a performance of four songs instead of the usual two almost made up for it. Hearing The Cars perform, Ann Wilson's tribute to Chris Cornell, Brittany Howard's tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and Andra Day's tribute to Nina Simone was worth the price of admission.

Although we purchased our tickets to see (and hear!) Jeff Lynne and ELO's induction, the line up for the night was amazing: Journey, Yes, Pearl Jam, Tupac, Nile Rogers, and Joan Baez. We left being fans of every artist! The atmosphere was fun. We were dancing and singing along -- and each artist has such an incredible story. Performances were great and so were the film clips on the inductees. Some of the inductee's speeches were hilarious! Plus, it was really nice being with a ton of people who all share a love of music and got into the spirit of the R&R Hall of Fame. Oh, and the filming was kept moving along. The night went quickly - and Barclays' staff handles these big events really well. (ie checked tickets, made sure people didn't just gather in the aisles.) We purchased a VIP package and the very few comments we read online beforehand about past inductions weren't so positive. We were a little nervous, but that wasn't our experience at all. Sound Check was really interesting and fun. The staff was on top of everything! Same goes for the cocktail party and gift bags we got. Very impressive. This is something we'd definitely do again!

What a fabulous time at the 2017 RHOF ceremony at the Barclay Center! Things moved along at a quick enough pace that you didn t get bored but slowly enough to pay each inductee the attention they deserved. Journey was my real reason for going but so happy to see the talent among the rest, as well. Drinks are ridiculously expensive, even by NYC standards, so be prepared for that. I was also disappointed that there was no swag to purchase; was really looking forward to buying a shirt that night. Ah well, I screamed like I was 12, danced and shouted in my seat, and enjoyed every moment!

Most of the night went off well. The stadium is very nice. The staff at Barclay were quite friendly and welcoming. We had an awesome group of people (Section 26) surrounding us. Most of the performances were good. Could have lived my entire life without hearing Snoop Dog's speech. Then along came Pearl Jam. Letterman gave a funny, endearing intro. I had a good laugh watching the TelePrompTer go up and down about 10 times as Letterman continually went off script. And Before he could get out the first name (Mike McCready), the place erupted. When they hit the stage to play, it felt like a PJ concert. Great night!

The show is 5 hours long, but this is my third time going to HOF show so expected it. Performances were great by all bands. Only issue we had is the side of the arena we were on they would not allow us to exit using the side exits. They made everyone in a sold out show leave through the front down one escalator. As the title of the review says, it really is a bucket list type of event for rock and roll fans. You get an opportunity to see multiple, legendary artists talk about their inspirations and to see them play. I enjoyed the introduction speeches as well as the artist speeches as much is seeing them rock out. It absolutely heightens the level of appreciation for what they've done and what they still do to this day. In terms of the specific acts, Yes sounded great. They're musicianship was still wonderful. Wakemans speech was simply stand-up comedy. Joan Baez is a wonderful human being and her speech exemplified that. ELO did a wonderful tribute to Chuck Berry with Roll Over Beethoven. I wish ELO would have played different songs, but it's his night and he gets to play what he wants to play. Journey was great and nice to hear Steve Perry. Obviously everyone wish he would have sang but that didn't happen. It was a Pearl Jam Crowd, a Pearl Jam night, and from their speeches to their performance was just what you would expect from Pearl Jam. Simply great

From the opening intro, this show was flawless. We had great seats & the sound & lighting was perfect. This year's inductees transported me back to the 70's & 80's. The highlight for me was journey's induction. Even though Steve didn't sing just having the complete journey line up together again was worth the trip& nothing can compare to Neal Schon's gitaur work. Opening with ELO definitely got the crowd reved up. Getty Lee playing with Yes was perfect. The Barclay center did justice to the hall of fame concert.

The Induction Ceremony was unforgettable from the moment Dhani Harrison entered the stage to induct ELO until Pearl Jam exited the stage with the fellow inductees after playing Rockin In The Free World all together. All of the music was great. The speeches made were positive, kind, emotional and funny. The ceremony was close to 5 hours, which was the same as when I was there in 2014. This night the time flew by, as the speeches weren't too long and all the acts were amazing. The crowd was very spirited, especially for Pearl Jam! What a night!

This is my 3rd induction ceremony (1st in New York) and it did not live up to my expectations. The sound was set at very low level, we flew in from Chicago and were in section 121, paying a whopping $125.00 per ticket. For this price I expected to at least hear the induction speeches, not just try and make out the words on the video screens. How come nobody can raise the microphones up to the taller people so their words are amplified so that they don't have to bend down so low to try and talk into the mics? Even when mouths were even with the mic, the presenters and people accepting the awards were difficult to here. Each band was allowed to perform only 3 songs each, with N.W.A. taking a pass on performing. So here are a group of hip hop artists who have a chance to showcase their talents to a rock and roll crowd and they don't perform, nobody could understand that, very disappointing. As far as the other bands, the sound could have been increased during the performances for all of the groups and since N.W.A. did not perform each band could had performed another song from their great careers. Bert Burns, a song writer from the early 60's with song credits that include, Twist and Shout, Cry to Me, Brown Eyed Girl and Piece of My Heart among many others, was inducted by the great Steven Van Zant, yet none of his songs were performed. I would had let the Black Keys, Steven and the Roots perform a couple of his hits, we don't understand why none of his songs were performed, very disrespectful to him and his family. As far as the no shows of Richie Blackmore of Deep Purple and Peter Cetera of Chicago, if they were no shows due to differences with band mates all I can say is, how about everybody try and get along for one night for us the fans, who bought their records, the t-shirts, posters, and most importantly concert tickets so we could see them when they were together. This was their one chance to show case their talents once again for us yet those moments will never happen, very disappointing. Thank you Danny Seraphine for setting aside your differences with the rest of the guys in Chicago and showing up and playing. How come there were not any concert shirts or other items available for this event? I know they are out there yet we canvased the arena and did not find any, again disappointing. The Arena itself never had a chance to showcase itself sound wise, and since listening to music is about SOUND, if it is held there again I suggest they concentrate on improving the sound, especially for the paying customers in the back of the arena. The two shows I attended at Public Hall in Cleveland blew this show away, not even the jam session at the end (which was about 15 minutes to short) could save the day. So if you want to go to one of these, go to Public Hall in Cleveland, it is much more intimate then the Barclay's is for this type of an event.

Congrats to all the 2016 inductees-Chicago, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, Steve Miller Band. NWA. We had no idea this would be such an amazing and explosive event of music joined by so many other talented artists such as Sheryl Crowe playing in a trio and so many other surpriseside. Thanks for the awesome memories of the evening.

Starting with David Byrne and The Roots to Deep Purple's, Hush and Steve Van Zandt to hearing all the accomplishment of Bert Burns then on to Steve Miller, Fly Like and Eagle, Time Keeps on Searching, Keep Me Rockin with Joker and his sparkle blue guitar. N.W.A talks were long and thought there might have been some music to go along with but Sheryl Crow popped in with Great Expectations next stop, Chicago Sat in the park, and Rob Tomas jumping into Does anybody really know what time it is? A fun night indeed. Little long on the speeches but hey, they deserve to have center stage.

And I do mean "all night", ending well after midnight. This was the second Rock Hall of Fame induction I had attended, with each being it's own unique evening due to the variety of performances. This year's show included many classic artists and the setlist played like the best mixtape ever from my high school and college years. From Peter Gabriel to Cat Stevens to Linda Ronstadt to Hall & Oates. I was well into my 30s when Nirvana formed, but still felt the rush upon hearing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" played for the first time in 20 years. However, I felt that the evening had peaked a couple hours earlier when the E St. Band blasted through the most intense 30 minutes I've seen on an arena stage in many, many years. Barclay's turned out to be a great venue, with pretty decent sound for a sports arena. And there's nothing better than a subway station with a short walk of your seats. Back to our hotel within a half hour of shows end.

If your group or band being inducted a special night for sure. If not, a long night with all the speeches. Nothing like what is seen on HBO, sound quality better, views better and editing out makes it more watchable and entertaining on HBO. All said it was a great weekend in Cleveland and glad to have gone

Rock Hall Induction nights are always a little short on music, but the emotion and laughter can't be beat. No matter your thoughts of that particular year's inductees, they all seem to be genuinely touched and most speeches reflect that. The event is always educational as well...to me anyway. Cleveland Public Hall has so much history and is a wonderful place to watch/hear music. Unfortunately, it is missing some modern luxuries that we have gotten used to elsewhere. (Bathroom line can be torturous.) It is intimate, though, which is good for the fans there but bad because more tickets could be sold elsewhere. It does seem like the right place for an induction ceremony, however. Prepare for a long night of music education through a look back at history, speeches and a few songs scattered about. Always a good time. As for this year's ceremony, things were a little more uneven than usual. Starting off with the band most came to see was interesting, but not out of place. (Bon Jovi...not judging popularity, but they were the reason tickets were expensive as hell this year.) Great to see them all on stage together. Dire Straits were the night's massive disappointment, with many (including Mark Knopfler) not showing. No one is required to attend and I completely understand how the rest of the band handled it. But there should have been a much longer presentation if not a musical tribute. The Cars and the Moodys were both predictably great in word and song. Sister Rosetta Tharp and Nina Simone had very nice tributes and great music. (Nina's brother might still be talking if they would have let him...) Little Steven let us in on a new 'singles' category and announced five or six of the first songs inducted in this category. Nice addition, I think, as the Hall needs to be as inclusive and encompassing as possible. The Tom Petty and Chris Cornell tribute songs were great. Maybe placed at the end of the show with a few other songs might have salvaged the second biggest disappointment of eve....the abrupt end to the show after the Moody Blues finished their set. No wrap up and nothing like a finale jam at all. When you have an eclectic mix, it might be tough to meld them together. But something should have been done to properly finish off the night. Perhaps next year. Cleveland is definitely a great place for this event as at least part of the rotation. One could do way worse than include this show in a long week or weekend visit to this fine city.

What a great event. The venue is beautiful, and it was really fun to see the bands, but there were a few things that could use some fine tuning. The intro by Howard Stern for Bon Jovi went on WAY too long. Plus, each member of Bon Jovi gave us their biographies. As fans, we know all this already (the R & R HOF also had full info about the inductees)...so no need to elaborate with lengthy speeches. The location of the microphones off to the side of the stage in a corner meant that for each intro and band, there were 20% of the people from one side or another that could not see the musicians except on a screen. Not fun. Bad the music is the magic. That's why I went and it was worth it!

Would be 5 stars but felt the show went about an hour too long (5 hours). There were some long acceptance speeches that got carried away. The music played was second to none ......wish to The Cars could have played more songs. The Venue is small and made it a quaint arena feeling. Good job with serving drinks and pizza as I mentioned earlier it was a long night. They started the show very prompt at 7:30pm (unusual for a rock and roll event) but as it turns out very necessary. I would definitely go again and probably will.

This was an amazing experience to see Bon Jovi, Moody Blues, The Cars and Dire Straits being inducted. Just wish all members of Dire Straits could have buried the bad blood between them to come and participate in receiving this honor. Have to say I was a little disappointed that all the bands did not come back out for a jam session like in past years.

This was the 3rd consecutive Induction Ceremony I've attended and while they are always a special event this one was not up to par. It lasted about 4 hours long which was an hour longer than last year's ceremony. Howard Stern and Bon Jovi took an hour alone and some of the speakers just went on and on and on. The sound in this pretty but ancient facility was also way below the level of previous events. While I'm glad I attended I'm going to start being more selective on attending future ceremonies based upon where the event is located and who is being inducted.

Although the acoustics at the Public Hall were terrible, it was a great show. I'm looking forward to watching it on HBO so I can actually hear what was said. Bon Jovi was great. Andra Day was a standout. Her rendition of I Put A Spell On You was amazing. Too bad Dire Straights could not resolve their issues long enough to perform.

As a long time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I was thrilled to have scored two tickets. I am NOT happy that I paid twice as much as in 2015 and had worse seats (I blame Ticketmaster for that one). That being said, it was a cold and nasty day/night in Cleveland so it was great to get inside. I love Public Hall and have since the 60's, seeing the Doors and Janis there. The opening with the Killlers paying tribute to Tom Petty was a nice touch. Howard Stern was well....Howard Stern. He is a huge Bon Jovi supporter and has been since day 1 so he was perfect to induct them. The members of the band had nice and thoughtful things to say but I thought Jon Bon Jovi went on wayyyyyy too long. I am surprised he didn't thank his hairdresser and whatever shampoo he used back in the day. Their 4 song set was saved by ex member Richie Sambora to me. It was a fun night to me except for that long speech and the no songs by Dire Straits due to the Knopfler Brothers not attending. Come on guys; give the Rock Hall the finger if you want, but be gentlemen and show your fans some respect. I felt the ladies who sang way out did the men. Stellar stuff. And Ann Wilson from Heart pairing with Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains doing "Black Hole Sun" in tribute to Chris Cornell had me in tears. WOW! I am a big Cars fan and Ric was funny and sweet. Brandon Flowers of the Killers paid them big ups as he presented them their award. Their set was great and so was the Moody Blues. (also a big fan of theirs) I was disappointed no jam at the end. I heard it discussed that mixing Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe and the others wouldn't work but come on...you had Paul Shaffer and Quest Love and others to pull it together...you have to wonder why it didn't happen? But all in all, I love this induction in Cleveland no matter who is on the bill. Met people from all over and if we could have just ordered nicer weather it would have been stellar.,,Thanks Cleveland for a good time.

Have been waiting for 25 years for Chicago to receive this well-deserved recognition, so it was a special night. Looks like a lot of folks felt the same about Deep Purple, Steve Miller, and Cheap Trick. Lots of good music, wonderful facility. We were nowhere near the celebrities on the floor, but sound and lighting were impressive in the upper levels. One surprising negative: No Commemorative Program and no souvenir merchandise (T-Shirts, Hats, etc). Considering how much stuff is available at the museum store in Cleveland, I was surprised at the absence of memorabilia.

It was a once in a lifetime event-crossed off the bucket list. I first saw Chicago when they were the Chicago Transit Authority back in 1968, and seen them many times over the years. Overall, each group was introduced first with a video, then an emcee, and most members spoke. Then they played 3 songs from their playlist. All except NWA, no video and no playing. [thank you Hall of Fame!] Most people still wonder how a rap band is considered rock and roll, when there are plenty of deserving RnR bands not in the HOF. Barclay's Arena is new and nice. HOWEVER, food and soda is terrible. Burger was smaller than a $1 one, roll huge [aka Where's the Beef??], and the cheese half off on the paper. No ketchup, no salt for the under cooked fries, limited soda selection [probably someone getting paid off by Coke to just boost sagging Coke sales], pretzel had about 10 grains of salt-but that was okay because it was a week old and disgusting. Oh, and half the escalators were not operating.

The music was incredible from the 4 bands that played. Quite honestly, I was not disappointed that NWA chose not to perform - no matter what they said, I believe that hip-hop does not belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. None of the speeches were overly tedious. With regard to the absence of Richie Blackmore and Peter Cetera, their bandmates showed class by not dissing their choice to abstain from attending. Little Steven's induction speech for Bert Bynes was respectful, informative, and funny all at the same time. The format of the show was kept very simple --- there were no extraneous speeches from HOF reps or other celebrities, just the intros, acceptance speeches, and music.
