Best concert I've been to in awhile. Loved the venue. I am partial to the feel of the smaller venues, but the show was outstanding. Great sound from a fantastic band.

Frightened Rabbit was awesome and their performance was all energy! Wintersleep was a surprising plus! The instrumental that Wintersleep played at their closing was exceptional! The guys at the merchandising table were very informative and friendly. Terminal 5 was a great Venue and offered lots of different levels and areas to view the stage. There were several bars which kept the lines short BUT the security/bouncers staff out front and throughout the venue were RUDE, obnoxious and disrespectful (with exception of the man at the VIP area entrance) and they treated everyone like inmates at a prison. Overall it was a great show and a good Venue

This was our 8th time seeing FR (wife & I). Saw them twice in a 3 day span. Saw them in Philly at Starlight Ballroom on Thursday night and Terminal 5 in NYC on Saturday night. How this band is not playing arenas right now is beyond me. The setlist was varied and highly energetic. The setlist was different from their first go around this past spring. Out were 'Footshooter' & 'Skip The Youth' and in were 'Things' & "Not Miserable.' Great additions to the list beings that 'Things' is a tremendous opener. Having Craig Finn from The Hold Steady join them on stage to sing 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' during the encore was a welcomed surprise. Also, having a trumpet player play during 'I Feel Better' & 'Swim Until You Can't See Land' was fantastic. It's great seeing them play bigger venues, but I suspect that bigger things are still to come. The first time I saw them at The M Room in Philly they played before a crowd of about 15 people. So their ascent has been well deserved. Great shows, great albums, great band. The best indie rock has to offer. If you haven't seem them yet, do yourself a favor and see one of the best recording and live acts out today.

A terrific performance. Their songs come from the same emotional turmoil as most, but Frightened Rabbit has its own unique style and sound that gives their music a special flavor. Their lyrics can be achingly beautiful and often brilliant. The only drawback was the quality of the sound. Vocals were a little muffled, not clean and crisp. But otherwise, great!

Opening bands (Bad Veins, Maps and Atlases) were FANTASTIC. Great sound, incredible musicians, a thrill to watch. Frightened Rabbit was electrifying. The whole hall pulsated with the beat - at one point I was worried the floor might fall through. Everyone felt it, too. Simply spectacular.

I drove 4 hours to see this show, and it was absolutely worth it. I'd travel even further to seee them. They sound even better live than their studio CD's... which says a lot because their CD's are all very good (Midnight Organ Fight is Excellent!) Excellent musicians. Fun show. Highly recommended. I enjoyed this show even more than Vampire Weekend a couple of weeks ago in Asheville, NC.

Though I was disappointed by the Middle East, I was greatly impressed by the Bad Veins and even more impressed by Frightened Rabbit. I expected much from Frightened Rabbit, but they easily exceeded the standard I had set. Vocals were dead on and I was captivated from the first note to the encore.

This is the first show where I actually legitimately enjoyed the opening bands. And of course, Frightened Rabbit was amazing. I really liked the venue, too. The best part of the evening was when Frightened Rabbit brought a couple on stage and the guy asked the girl, "Will you get 'Old Old Fashioned' with me?" He pulled out a ring and she said yes, at which point Frightened Rabbit followed up by playing "Old Old Fashioned" (which also just happens to be my favorite song). This has definitely been my favorite of all the shows I've been to before.

Frightened Rabbit is a high energy outfit who clearly love their work, but their studio output up to now (3 studio albums) limits the length of their overall set. Still, they put in a full 90, playing all of their most well known stuff from their past two albums. Hell (the venue) at the Masquerade is intimate but cramped, both for patrons and band. I would like to see what the Rabbit would do given a full stage to romp upon.

The show was great, three bands total, all from Scotland. Everyone was so nice to the crowd and seemed to really like being there. The only problem was the second band, Twilight Sad. They just didn't belong, their music didn't fit with the rest of the show. I've never seen so many people in a crowd yawning. Otherwise, awesome performances.

In Spring of 2007 I went to visit a good friend in Glasgow for afew weeks...he introduced me to this band, Frightened Rabbit, and told me they were getting alot of buzz and going to go somewhere. During my visit they happened to play a small show in Glasgow. I saw them for the first time and was very impressed. Now almost 3 years later they're making quite the name for themselves. Seeing them at the Masquerade an ocean away from where I first saw them was great. I'm happy for them. Awesome musicians. Great show.

I had never heard of frightened rabbit before this concert. A friend of a friend invited me and I was BLOWN AWAY by the down to earth demeanor of the band, their captivating lyrics, and their enthralling music. The guitar literally caused my hair to tingle, and I got goosebumps multiple times listening. The music transcended the physical space of echos and sound waves, and emotionally attached itself to the heart strings of the listeners. I did not expect anything of the sort, going to watch an unknown indie rock band in the heart of detroit. (The venue by the way was really nice, great place to watch live music). I had an incredible time, one of the highlights of summer. I will surely be listening to this band for years to come and will seek other opportunities to watch them play. Definitely, if you are looking for an intensely moving musical experience, check these guys out!

Augustines we amazing. The singer is phenomenal and they deserve so much more recognition then what they have now. I'm excited to see where that band goes. They're a 3 piece band that puts out a 5 to 6 piece sound. Frightened Rabbit is a 6-7 piece band that should more likely have 4 members. For that many people being on stage... I was not impressed.

What an awesome concert this was !!!! Both bands were amazing ... rocked the house ! The Augustine's (fka We Are Augustines) opened the show. I did not know them before the show. I have now bought every bit of their music I can find ! They were INCREDIBLE - played with so much passion and energy and fun ... I could have listened to them for hours. If you want to see what they are about, look up their video of their Paris performance of Chapel Song with the "incredible end" in youtube ... I have watched that video over and over again ... I have added this band to my list of "favorites" and will definitely buy tickets the next time they come to LA. Frightened Rabbit was SUPERB! ... they were very casual with audience .. that was awesome ... they played a lot of songs from their current release as well as older songs which I was not familiar with. However I have been busy looking up their older songs as well. They also performed a new song out on an EP, Candlelit - it was great. FR had a great mix of acoustic songs as well as numbers that rocked out. So much engergy and passion up on the stage .. it was electrifying! I danced all night long! This was my first time to the Avalon. I have to say that I liked this venue quite a bit .. the sound system was great without killing your ears. This is one of the best venues of its size.

This was my second bad experience with this venue. I certainly don't expect religious reverence during songs, but in both locations we tried to view the show, at least half the people around us were carrying on conversations loudly and being very rude in general. We tried several times to ask them to be quieter, to no avail. Moving did not improve the situation.

This was an unbelievable show. They are absolutely amazing. While on their records there are a lot of layers which is great, the sound during this performance was scaled back and had a great vibe to it, with just enough rock and roll, romance, melodies, and amazing heartfelt lyrics. I only started listening to Frightened Rabbit about six months ago and this was my first time seeing them live. I couldn't even find anyone to go with so I went alone because there was NO WAY I was going to miss this opportunity. I haven't taken The Winter of Mixed Drinks out of my car since it came out. So I just stood against the wall and rocked out! FR is pretty incredible live, no let down at all there. The let down was how short the show was. Less than an hour and a half but maybe I'm just used to longer shows? It felt over way too soon though. If the band wasn't feeling it I wouldn't be surprised. The crowd was kind of a dud, which they generally are in L.A. it seems. The first song was "Skip the Youth" and when I surveyed the crowd there was very little movement. Just people staring. Fortunately by the end, the last song being "Keep Yourself Warm," people were much more into it. It didn't matter to me. There could have been no crowd and I would have been just as blown away by the bearded Scottish brilliance that is FR.

Love that song -well performed, wanted to love the show a bit more too! Lead vocals seemed overshadowed by the music, perhaps not as strong a match. The 4 cord repetition was accompanied by The Edge string style (resulting in a U2 reference). Honored to have seen this "newer" band play their 1st Fillmore show. Not sure if a more intimate venue would be better suited for Frightened Rabbit -almost an around the bond fire, pass the whiskey bottle, kind of thing..

The show was definitely great and the best Webster Hall show I've seen this year. The crowd was filled with die-hard fans and almost everyone knew all the words. The bad did a great job at bringing some of these slow rockers to the stage and making it a great live show. They really plowed through their set which felt like it ended all too quickly but was a standard 15 songs give or take. I would love to see them again, but I would imagine that it will be at increasingly larger venues.

Frightened Rabbit always brings new and exciting bands that blend well with their sound. First, I was likely not the typical attendee for the Frightened Rabbit show on May 6th at the Electric Factory. I am in my 50's, and was directed by my oldest son to review Frightened Rabbit about five years ago. When he was young, I influenced his musical tastes to some extent, and he has tried to pass along like a favor some of the artists that capture his interest and fancy. So, I have been a fan for about four years, but I haven't really been fully engaged until Pedestrian Verse. In simple terms, I loved that album, and that interest prompted me to back an familiarize myself with the earlier output. So, in short, I expected the show to be fantastic, and yet it exceeded expectations. The set choices were spot on perfect, with the exception that I would have loved to hear "Poke." Of course, I could name quite a few I would like to have heard, but that is true with all great shows. I think the compelling and most favorable dynamic was that they did not try to recreate the polished production values of the record. For some songs, that would be desirable, but the quirky and intriguing element of their music is that it is organic - riffs, bridges, reprises, and leitmotifs somewhat grow out of themselves, and so the stage show treatment for some songs requires a shift in presentation. I am too old to sing, and yell, and dance, and jump as much as I did. My wife, who is only passably familiar with the songs, had a great time as well. After a Springsteen concert in the late 1980's, and a Skynyrd concert in 1976, this one may well be third on my all time list. I had that much fun.

I've always been a big fan of Frabbit led by Scott but tonight was incredible. They played a lot their old stuff which was great treat and they were so much fun with the crowd. So many funny stories! The only thing is that Newport has to fix their sound system... You do that and you can allow great bands like this one to truly shine, but there was too many times when they sounded like ass cause the feedback from amps overpowered the vocals. Other than that Frabbit, keep doin what your doin.

Frightened Rabbit are one if my favorite bands and getting to see them live in NY was simply amazing! I'm from the Isle of Man so opportunities to see live music are rare. Their set was out of this world but when Scott got up on the balcony to do Poke (my favorite song) and the whole audience fell silent it blew my mind! It was such a magical moment. Thought that it was a great show. Love seeings bands at this venue and I had been looking forward to finally seeing Frightened Rabbit after missing them in Boston last year. Didn't see the opening acts unfortunately but had a great time.

Hands down one of my all time favorite bands, and they did not disappoint. Jammed nonstop for almost 2 hours of perfection. Wouldn't have changed a second of it!

The entire show was fantastic. I also enjoyed both supporting acts (the Philistines Jr. And Augustines) even though it was the first time I saw either of them live.

Everything about the show was phenomenal. The opening band, the crowd's vibe and participation, the lead singer's banter with the crowd, and most importantly, Frightened Rabbit. A 10/10 performance, I look forward to seeing this band again.

I really enjoyed Frightened Rabbit live. They were even better in person then on cd! They were funny and personable as well and the setting seemed intimate at the Showbox. My only complaint was the opening bands. The first one was okay (Bad Veins), but the second band (Plants and Animals) was miserable and played for an hour! Torture.

I had pretty moderate expectations for this bands live show before going to see them. Didn't expect anything spectacular, but thought it'd be pretty decent. These guys were half asleep throughout the ENTIRE show. Super boring, talked in between songs about how cool it was that they "got to walk around downtown Seattle and be tourists all day before the show" but somehow didn't have the energy to move around throughout any part of their entire set? Awesome can I have my $25 back? Maps & Atlases, on the other hand, opened for Frightened Rabbit and absolutely dominated. Maybe that's why FR seemed so lame?

I listened to Midnight Organ Fight for several months straight in 2008. Needless to say, that was a very damp, tear drenched period in my life. Not because I was experiencing some cathartic, emotion-wrought event in my life (I wasn't) but because Frightened Rabbit rivals Elliott Smith for the 'Most Depressing Act of the Decade'. So why on earth would I want to see them live? Especially after the disappointment I endured as a result of not being able to see them at Coachella (damn you, volcano). Why would I allow my excitement to build up again? Am I a masochist? Possibly. Either way, it was worth seeing them live. The show was intimate, and it wasn't packed or uncomfortable. The band sounded great, and were obviously drunk. I think. But hey, they're Scottish. Drinking whiskey, overusing the word 'cheers', and singing sad songs is what they do. The venue was nice as well. The Henry Fonda is right down the street from my house, and the owners completely revamped the theatre. It's no longer a complete dump. In fact, it's pretty swanky. Also, they allow you to pop into the Blue Palms for beer/sausages/truffle oil and blue cheese fries, which is pretty amazing in and of itself.

The band was great, but the sound at the theatre was terrible. I couldn't understand the singers of any of the 3 bands. When I stepped out onto the patio, it was so much better, you could actually hear what they were saying. Please please Music Box...fix the sound!!!

Show was pretty awesome. Maps and Atlases was a pleasant surprise and Frightened Rabbit's performance exceeded my expectations. Was very uptempo and kept the whole floor hopping throughout the night.

No need to blather on rhapsodic. From the charm of leadman Scott Hutchinison to the complex and dramatic music to the cursing of the series finale on Lost on the same night, all made for a fantastic show. Best I have seen this year.

Frightened Rabbit blew me away. I wasn't expecting them to rock so hard, I was just looking forward to a fun night at the Fillmore and grooving to a few songs of theirs that I knew. I was happily mistaken. I could be in my own world and get transported to another place during one portion of a song, and then be dancing and rocking with my friends during another part of the same song. They had such great stage presence too... the lead singer made it quite clear how happy he was to be playing at the Fillmore- he said he never thought this would be a reality. Had lots of fun and don't care at all that I'm a little hungover at work on a Thursday. Would see them again in a minute.

before the show I checked the LiveNation site multiple times to see if there was an opening act... didn't appear to be one. When I got to the venue, I found out that there were TWO openers. This really disappointed me - not because I don't like openers, but because I hadn't expected it. Then, they both were not-so-good. FR went on at 10 (2 hours after when I was expecting them to go on based on how the show was promoted). They're a solid live act... great technically with good stage presence. Drummer was pretty kick-ass.

Great show. A little down-tempo, I would have liked to see them play the songs a little more like the record, but overall it was a great show. Of course, Webster Hall sounds terrible, but that's not the band's fault.
