I never thought I would ever get to see Buffalo Springfield LIVE but thanks to powerful modern medicine bundles, the natives are revived like a Ghost Dance of the Sioux. Mr. Soul (N.Y.) showed up with "Old Black" to really blast us into the past and then later to evoke tears with a harmonica in tunes like Broken Arrow and Sad Memory. In the spirit of the 60's the PEACE & HARMONY of three dueling guitarists beneath the stars and other celestial beings. As Neil Young said on stage Saturday night, "We're from the Past!" The loudest and hardest riffs were saved for the trip's end called "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World!"

Having grown up with Neil Young, literally, I was old enough to know and appreciate Buffalo Springfield, but too young to ever see them perform. My formative years were spent watching Neil s solo career blossom in addition to seeing CSNY on many an occasion. When I found out that the surviving members of Buffalo Springfield were going to hit the road, I had to be there. So last night, I make the pilgrimage to the Bay Area for the opening night of their 6 show stint in California. The Fox Theater is a great venue. There s not a bad seat in the house. Having a 5th row seat doesn t hurt either. I saw Neil s shows at this venue last year, so I knew where to go, where to park, and what to expect. Gillian Welch was the opening act. I knew that I was in for good times as her music held my attention with every note. She is a great musician, and whoever selected her to open for Buffalo Springfield is a true genius. (Probably Neil). Gillian Welch was so good that I was disappointed when her set was over. But the anticipation of what to expect going forward was compelling. Around 9:15, the lights dimmed, and our man walked out onto the stage with Stephen Stills, Rick (the bass player) Rosas, Richie Furay, and Joe Vitale. Stephen Stills looked great. He s lost a lot of weight, and he just had his act together. Neil was wearing a vintage leather jacket with fringes hanging off it, Buffalo Springfield era. The crowd was on our feet, and for good reason. The opening notes, and right into it with On The Way Home! This is where things got really interesting and exciting. As a long standing fan of Neil s, I was thinking he would be singing On The Way Home. To the contrary, Richie Furay did. If you have Buffalo Springfield s 3 albums, which I would recommend all three, you would know that Neil wasn t singing this song. Richie Furay was. The band was concerned about Neil s vocals back then, so Richie Furay would from time to time sing for Neil on Neil s songs. The entire set was phenomenal, but so were Richie Furay, Neil, and Stephen Stills! Richie Furay impressed me the most. He was just on target, and seemed to be holding the entire show together with his vocals and rythm guitar. Throghout the entire gig, I was waiting for Neil to breakout. It never happened. That s what made this show incredible. I saw a side of Neil Young in concert I had never seen before. He wasn t acting as a solo artist. He was part of a band of equals. As much as I wanted Neil to break away from the band and get into one of those incredbile Neil solos, he didn t do it. This made the performance all the better. The coordination of their music was just impeccable. The selections were great. There was a song Richie Furay did after Clancey that I had never heard before, but aside from it, all the tunes were old Buffalo Springfield until the very end, Rockin In The Free World. Broken Arrow was stunning, as was A Child s Claim to Fame, Rock n Roll Woman, and Burned. There were so many great tunes that I have never heard done live, and they were done right by Buffalo Springfield. The crowd was a little foreign to me. I didn t see anyone I knew, but that was OK. I wasn t there to socialize, only to take it all in. My greatest regret was not having a ticket for this evening s show. Had I known how good Buffalo Springfield were going to be, I would have gone both nights. My advice to anyone who has an interest in their music do what it takes to see them perform. This is a side of Neil Young you have never seen before, and you may not see again.

God bless the 1960's rockers who are still out there sharing and showing everyone, like a fine wine, it gets better with age. I will go see any of these excellent 60's music groups that have stood the test, not only of time, but new generations that love and appreciate them just as much as us original fans. You go boys!!! Love you to pieces.

The show was great. Neil was in a great mood, happy, talking and his voice was right on. Steven was in great shape and his voice was the best I have heard in a long time. Ritchie, ahhh it was heaven hearing his voice. This was a concert of a life time, will never forget this one. The bowl needs better parking.

Buffalo Springfield performed at the Santa Barbara Bowl on June 8th, and it was a wonderful trip back to my youth. Steve Stills, Richey Furay, and Neil Young from the original group were all there and put on a wonderful show. Neil Young was witty and funny while conversing with the audience. The band played all of their big hits, and other album cuts that we also enjoyed.

Probably the most fun concert I've been to in years. The crowd was very enthusiastic and chatty- reminiscing about seeing the band back in the day, etc. It was clear that most of the audience wasn't there for the music as much as they were there just to see THEM. No, the performances weren't perfect. No, their voices haven't all held up (especially Stills). But so what? These guys are living history, and they gave us their all. They clearly were having a lot of fun up there. Some of the songs were just so-so, but others absolutely ROCKED. I hope I have half their energy when I reach their age. As expected, Neil dominated the show. His great charm and wit, plus some fierce playing carried the show to unexpected heights. Unlike most other concerts I've attended over the years, I have been thinking back on this one for days afterward. Yeah, I'm 44 years late, but I finally saw Buffalo Springfield!

The band sounded great, Stephen Stills was on his game and in synch with the rest of the band, providing a lot of the foundation from which others' shined. Furay was incredible, although he seems to be crafting a little bit too hard compared to the spontaneity of their Bridge School reunion. Neil simply rocked as usual, the guy's simply amazing and clealry one of a kind. Bluebird was probably the best of the bunch, and Kind Woman really resonated as well. The sound system was a little off, not loud enough, kind of sad considering all the money spent at the SB Bowl to upgrade. The most disappointing aspect of the entire evening was the crowd, what a bunch of slackers. I realize it's an older demographic, but come on folks, get off your butts and dance and scream and have some fun and feed the band! I understand Tuesday's show was off the hook, largely because of the energy in the crowd which is obviously critical for the band to kick into high gear. Wednesday it seemed like the more they gave the less the crowd returned. Very sad, very boring and depressing in that regard. But the boys did well and it's awesome to see them jamming together and having fun with it (which was evident in between songs and their bantering with eachother). Great stuff, hope they can keep it going and it would be nice if they included some special guests on future dates!

After waiting over 40 years to see these guys together singing again I was very pleased to hear the great music that they made in the 60's. The only issue I had was Steven Stills voice is shot and he needs a very long rest before he goes out with CSN again. Great evening at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

Why should anyone be surprised that the buffalo Springfield absolutely killed in sant Barbara on june8, 2011? After all, the principals, richie furay,Steve stills, and Neil young have been touring and practicing for the whole 40 years or so since they played together last. The only thing surprising is to recall what good song writers they were back then. Each time they kicked into a new song, the audience was reminded o f just wat a bunch of wonder kids they were back then. And each time they finished a song, the audience was reminded that time doesn't have to diminish anything. It seemed to me that they were having a great time. Back in the day they broke up because there was too much talent-and too many big egos-for one small band to contain. Now, though, they seemed to look at each other and realize just how rare and wonderful it can be to get all that talent back together and on the same team. Steves vocals haven't stood up well through the years. No matter, richie and neal had his back. Richie couldn't quite hit some of the high notes. No matter, the audience filled in from memory.

It started out a bit rough, but once the boys got going, they sounded great. One of the best parts was that it was obvious that they were enjoying themselves. With how badly they hated each other when they broke up, it was good to see them having fun playing together. The only reason i don't rate the show 5 stars was due to the venue and audience. Why do people think it's okay to talk during outdoor concerts? I didn't pay to listen to them. Freakin idiots.

I was in high school when most of the Buffalo Springfield songs were written and a freshman in college when they disbanded. After it was announced the band would reunite for a spring tour, I got out my old vinyl copy of Retrospective. I had forgotten just how well written the material is and I was truly amazed at how the songs moved me after all these years. I estimated they probably had 13 or 14 really good songs. At the Wiltern show Sunday night Neil joked, We only know thirteen songs , but those thirteen songs are exceptional. The question surrounding most reunion tours is, Can a bunch of sixty something rockers turn back the clock without looking (and sounding) like a bunch of, well, sixties somethings ? I will not go so far as to say the band members sounded like they did in 1968, but they certainly did not embarrass themselves. Most importantly, the band members played with a sense of enthusiasm and passion that was very infectious. Most of the vocals were very good and they held the harmonies together quite nicely. Then there was the guitar playing. Based on these concerts, Stills and Young can hold their own in any company of guitar players, from any era. We were we lucky enough to attend one of the Wiltern shows and a Santa Barbara show and they were both extremely enjoyable concerts. They may not have been the most technically perfect shows I have ever seen, but they may have been the most emotionally charged rock concerts I have attended. They chose the perfect song to start the evening, ON THE WAY HOME. The lyrics of that song set the stage perfectly for all the great music to follow. Now I won't be back till later on, if I do come back at all, but you know me, and I miss you now . It was like looking into the eyes of your sweetheart after 40 years and finding that she has aged with extreme grace and is still music to your ears.

This show totally rocked the house. After forty years of not playing together, I find it amazing they were able to pick up their old songs, and run with them as if they were in their twenties again. The few missed chords or out of key notes were quickly forgotten and by the time they got to their final song...Keep on Rockin in the Free World...they were as tight as could be. There was no sense of tension between Stills and Young and Richie Furay was phenomenal. It was officially announced to today that there will be e 30 show fall tour. I'll be first in line for tickets!

Great concert overall. Gillian Welch as the opening act was solid. Her rendition of the Airplane's White Rabbit was excellent. Didn't see that one coming. Brought down the house. Buffalo Springfield was a trip back to 1968. Very loose set with a lot of small talk and kidding around. Richie Furay tended to lead on most vocals and still has a great set of pipes. Steve Stills is still great on the guitar, but the voice is starting t falter. Neil Young was fantasftic as usual. How an old dude can perform like that is amazing. Simple show. All the BS classics + some Poco + some of Young's solo hits. Just a very nice and enjoyable show at the Bowl.

The first act that came out to play were a country western couple. They were talented and the lady had a good voice but it wasn't my kind of music until she sang "Go Ask Alice". The audience gave her a standing ovation for this song. Buffalo Springfield was great. They sang a few too many slow songs but "Mr. Soul", "Bluebird", and "For What Its Worth" were amazing. Neil Young has never sounded better and was very entertaining with some of the funny comments he made to the audience. When Neil sang "Rockin In The Free World" at the end, it was the greatest moment ever for them and the crowd went wild. This was a very memorable concert for me. I will never forget it.

Went to the first show of the Buffalo Springfield reunion in Oakland and it was great. Richie, Stephen & Neil were all in fine form. Stephen voice has gotten a little grittier over the years but sounds good. Neil...well he still has that unique voice. Richie was very impressive and his voice is as good as ever. They played everything you would expect them to play and closed the show with Neil's "Keep On Rockin' In The Free World" The sounds was great! I went to see the Cars there a couple of weeks ago and the sound was horrible but tonight's sound was crystal clear. I could hear Richie's acoustic even while Stephen & Neil were rocking on electric. They're only doing a few shows but if you're a fan, catch them if you can.

I was an original Buffalo Springfield fan way before I met my husband in 1976. Unfortunately I was not able to see them in concert before they disbanded. I was lucky enough to see Neil Young (God Bless Him), POCO (Loved them!) and of course CSN and then CSNY (had every album). But I never thought I would have the opportunity to see Buffalo Springfield. When I received the email from JamBase that they were on tour, I freaked! The available seats for Oakland were too far back and I was not about to see them after all these years through binoculars so I threw caution to the wind and bought tickets to the Santa Barbara Bowl! My husband was shocked but he knew I was on a mission. So off we went to Santa Barbara where we stayed and saw the show at the beautiful Santa Barbara Bowl. It was one of the best nights of my life and I will never forget it. I had a glass of wine, got a t-shirt and along with the love of my life saw Buffalo Springfield as awesome and amazing as every song I had ever heard on their albums! And yes, it transported me to a different time and left a memory that was worth every penny spent! Actually more!

Ritchie Furry's voice is still amazing .The" dueling" guitars between Neil Young and Steven Stills was great. It didnt seem like duel after all these years. It was more smiling at each other, and show me what you got. As a added bonus there was a lot of comedy and storytelling in the show ( mainly from Mr Young). Parking for the event was terrible, as were the venue's regulations about outside food. As a person with a restricted diet and food allergies, there was little provided by the Santa Barbara Bowl that I could eat. Outside food and drink was prohibited. That was unfortunate. Flow into and out of the stadium was fine and the crowd was very tame. Gillian Welch was amazing, but the audience talked over her. Buffalo Springfield was also good.

Have been hoping for a Buffalo Springfield concert since I came of age musically in 1969 or so, and this concert substantially exceeded my expectations. They were emotionally loose, musically tight and having a great time. Their rockers made it easy to understand how they used to blow the roof off of the Whiskey, and the harmonies on the ballads made it clear how they helped to launch folk-rock and country-rock. A wonderful, memorable concert.

As Neil said, "We are from the Past", but their music is just as relevant now as back then. It was a great show, good crowd enthusiasm, and great musicians giving their all onstage. I never even dreamed I'd see the day that this band would get together again. But they did, and played, clearly, for the pure love of it. An event not to be missed, with music that stands the test of forty plus years. Past met present in a night of what was old was new again. While the youth of today may not know or appreciate what influence the group had on rock in the 60's and on much of what followed it's easy to see why this band was the launching pad for so many great musicians. To quote one of their album titles, seeing Buffalo Springfield live after all these years was one very good reason we needed Buffalo Springfield Again.

Quite a trip down memory lane - took me right back to late 60's growing up in So. Cal. probably like most of the audience. B.S.'s instrumentals and jamming was outstanding and first rate; a few vocals were pitchy and sounded like they could have benefitted from a little more rehearsing. Still the last half of the concert shined and was strong.

I went to see the Buffalo Springfield June 4, The following are my thoughts. Well, it was a great show. We were way back in the top rows, but the sound was good. Standing O as they walked on stage. Richie in the middle, Neil to his left and Stephen to his right. Joe and Rick in the back and mostly in the shadows. You could tell this was a celebration of the remaining members of the original band. Stephen looked good. Very slim these days. His voice was rough at times, but he made it work, even taking a verse in RITFW. His bluesy grit is pretty rough these days. Neil was the ultimate hippie singer. Boots, jeans, Shirt covered by a leather fringed coat, all topped with a western hat. Throw in Old Black with the Peace strap, and he was back on the Whiskey Stage. His voice is the same as it was so many years ago., It hasn't wavered (no pun intended). Richie looked so happy to be there are center stage. He was wearing his black western shirt with the embroidered buffaloes. The set list has been on here already, so I won't bore you with that. I will say that a couple of songs were outstanding. In no particular order. They hit the stage without a word and launched into On The Way Home, and the race was on. Bluebird, Burned and Rocking In The Free World, For What Its Worth and Rock and Roll Woman, featured Stephen and Neil in their classic guitar battles. Neil charging and retreating toward Stephen like a raging bull. Stephen standing stock still, letting his fretwork be the weapon of choice. Neil's harmonica work on I Am A Child and Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing, was sweet. A little different sound, I think, because Neil played using his hands instead of the neck gear he normally uses. I think using hands brought some different nuances that were good for the songs. Richie's voice was spot on perfect, as always. You could close your eyes and here the same voice that sang the records 40+ years ago. Clancy, Sad Memory, One The Way Home, and Kind Woman were perfect. It is fun to watch Richie as he closes his eyes and folds himself into the music. He lives it as he sings it. Everybody seemed to be a festive mood. Richie and Neil had smiles almost the whole night. Neil was very talkative. Stephen played his guitar with style. You could tell these guys were having a great time. As far as the set list is concerned, they covered all three albums. I'm sure everyone heard several of their favorites. Rocking In The Free World was the only non-BS song played. If I could have had a choice, it would have been nice to add Buffalo Springfield Again to the set list. Anyway, if they come to your town as part of the new fall tour, grab a ticket as fast as you can. I hope they come back to SoCal. I will be there again.

This concert took me back to my teenage years, with so many familiar songs. However, it was not just a nostalgia trip, because the guys brought more depth, passion, and energy to the songs than they did in their younger days. It was inspirational to this 60-something guy to see Neil and Stephen attacking the guitars, to hear the beautiful harmonies, and to see the looks of joy on their faces. An incredible experience - I wish it could have gone on for hours longer.

The sound was engineered well, lighting nice, moods exlint ! Guitar wars were cool , a blast from the past. Richie Furrie, what a blessing he still is. Neil was in a fun mood and Steve sang fine, like a fine ol wine ! Stopping the song a few bars in....good stuff, count it again ! Keep on rockin in the free world, thank you Neil. Over all I loved this evening, it was magical and these old hoots kicked it hard and good. The vocal mixes were suprisingly nice, good harmonies. ! Kick ass in Tennessee boys ! Oh and ya'll come back now hear !

As a whole, the concert was enjoyable. However, Stills' voice, whether talking, or "singing" is gone. Stills still has a great guitar talent. The best songs were performed by Neil and the other guy.

Poor Stephen Stills... still struggling through whatever it is that ails him. But to hear those great songs again, and to see Young & Furay still rocking in the free world made up for it. And the SB bowl is a delightful venue.

venue was awesome, the weather was amazing, remieniscing was fun, but band should have could have spent a little time conversing with the audience. afterall it's only been 40+ years since they last played together...we would like to know what's been going on in all that time! a little retrospective on their lives, etc. perhaps...

Great songs and performance. You could tell some of the band was missing as the sound just wasn't the same on many songs although Richie and Neil sounded great.

You always wonder when you see an old sixties group reuniting for a short tour, is there anything left? Maybe because they only were together for a short time in the first place, maybe because they had an abundance of wonderful material, maybe because there was so much talent in the band, but, whatever! That was a great show! The great musical interplay that was the signature of the Springfield all those years ago was still there, as were the vocals, most notably Richie Furey who shined all night. You realize why Neil and Steve deferred to him on many songs they actually wrote. He is the best of the three vocally and can literally carry a song with just his voice and guitar. Neil Young was in high spirits all night and his ferocious guitar playing was the highlight of many songs especially Bluebird. Steven Stills seemed subdued and not out front vocally but played guitar quite well all night.

I saw them at their last concert in 1968 and never expected to see them again. Good to see some of us geezers still know how to have a good time. The opening act did a surprise rendition of "White Rabbit" that was a perfect lead in to the show. The guitars were blazing between the three of them. Just go and enjoy yourselves singalong with the anthem "For What it's Worth". Who knew we would be doing this in 2011!

Forty something years is a long time for a band to wait for a reunion. The Buffalo Springfield were the wellspring for so much that became the heart and soul of country rock, song-writer rock, and the a whole generation of imitations that still flourish. For me it was always the Byrds and the Buffalo Springfield and anything that branched from their many sparkiling offshoots. Think about it. Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Poco, Crosby Stills Nash and ...yeah him again, Messina & Loggins....and from the Byrds...the Burritos, Gram Parsons, the Eagles, and all of the people who've imitated and followed them over the years creating the Alt Country music category to a large degree. This concert was like seeing the fire rekindled. Richie's voice was incredible and terrific to hear again, Neil was wry and explosive as always...Steve, although the vocal chops have faded over the years, was an enthusiastic contributor to the magic that was this amazing band and is this astounding revival. What fun to hear all those old songs come alive anew and fresh with a mature perspective of men approaching their 70's... "For What it's Worth" (their hit), "Kind Woman", "I Am a Child" "Rock and Roll Woman" "Bluebird", "Hello, Mr Soul"... they all soared in the Santa Barbara night like forgotten loves remembered...rendered and cherished. And finally... Neil Young classic as a closer...."Keep Rockin' in the Free World". Biting truths still relevant and meaningful for the nearly geriatric audience dancing in the aisles as if Woodstock was yesterday.

I saw this show from 9th row center. Buffalo Springfield did the same set as in previous shows - no surprises. Neil seemed to be having a good time, did a lot of talking to the crowd and cracking jokes. I go to all the NY shows so I wasn't going to miss this one, with his old friends. Never seen Furay before; saw Poco years ago without him so I was looking forward to seeing him. Was not disappointed. Show opened with 'On The Way Home,' with Richie singing, as on the album. Later they did 'Nowadays Clancy.....' (another NY song) - Richie sang the 1st verse and Neil sang the 2nd. That was cool. As mentioned in other reviews, Steve Stills really can't sing anymore, but he tries hard and it's still his unmistakable voice. He is still a good guitar player worth listening to. He and Neil did a quite lengthy battle at the end of 'Bluebird.' It was fun because Stills' Strat / amps make a completely different sound than Old Black. I've seen Young play 'Keep On Rockin' In The Free World' many times, with CSN, with Crazy Horse, with Booker T and the MG's, with the Stray Gators - but I've never seen him do it with 3 false endings and 3 'encore refrains.' He saved that for Buffalo Springfield!

I have seen Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young recently so I knew what to expect from Stills and Young. Richie Furay was on the same high level as the other two. Considering the length of time since they were a group it was remarkable. . .both vocally and instrumentally.

Seeing Buffalo Springfield was a nostalgic treat indeed, but their aging voices are not quite what they used to be, although it didn't really affect the overall experience. Gillian Welch and her partner, however, had the most glorious pure voices. It was a shame that the crowd at the Santa Barbara Bowl were so incredibly rude that it made it difficult to enjoy the opening act, even illiciting a comment from the performers that the crowd would have plenty of time to talk between acts. My advice to people that aren't interested in the opening act is to stay home until the main attraction, or at least have the decency to speak softly.

OK, I loved Buffalo Springfield, and was glad for the momentous occaision. Overall, a mild letdown. I didn't expect more, but I did hope for it. The set list was comprehensive - and the same, in the exact same order, as all the shows this June. It became pretty clear, with the announcement of a fall tour and probable live album, that his was a paid warm-up to work out the kinks for the fall "401k" tour. Musically -ok, but as you'd expect after 43 years, the vocals were strained. The mood was pleasant, but not loaded with the significance you'd expect after 40 years. An added bonus - the no camera policy - which meant they literally held cameras during the show "at artists' request" was obnoxious, and came with a brief lecture from the 300 lb. security bouncer to everyone that they would confiscate cel phone cameras if you took it out of your pocket. C'mon guys, listen to your own lyrics!

Awesome to see the Master, Neil Young, at work with his old band. The back and forth diaglogue with Stills and Young was classic. Neil was in rare form and you could tell he was in great spirits and enjoying the reumion with his old band as he talked throughout the show. Highlights were I Am a Child, Bluebird, Mr. Soul and Kind Woman. There is only one Neil Young and I recommend seeing him play any time you get the chance because you don't know how many more chances you will get!!

Concert was tight, instrumental riff's were very good. Neil Young was in a great mood, and really cooking. Richie Furay's voice was great, just like in the 60's. Stephen Stills doesn't hit the high notes like he used to, but has more of a bluesy style. Lot's of energy in the concert, really fun.

Stephen plays a mean guitar...Richie's voice still sonorous...but Neil....well, he made the show. His voice, his humor, his guitar licks, and most of all: his reverence and sheer joy in being a rock and roller. No vanity...no self-importance....just a lucky guy who gets to do what he loves passionately. And the audience was right there with him. Nice set list.

This was a dream come true. I've been wanting to see Buffalo Springfield reunite for decades. It was so wonderful to see Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, and Neil Young up on the stage together, getting along, and playing their hearts out. Neil Young was in great spirits, having a blast finally with his favorite band. Highlights were I am a Child, Kind Woman, Mr. Soul, For What Its Worth, Broken Arrow, Rock and Roll Woman. Harmonies were not always perfect, but it didn't matter. It was just a magical evening watching and listening to one of my favorite bands play in a beautiful setting above the Pacific Ocean in the hills of Santa Barbara.

This was a long-awaited reunion concert from a key group in rock n roll history. The three band members performed exceptionally well (Stills looked great), voices surprisingly intact (particularly Richie's), and they rocked a lot harder than expected. Now, as an aside (and guys don't take this the wrong way, cause we love ya...) the quality and pricing of the swag was not up to what I expected. Tee shirt quality is C+ at best for $30 (design was fine) and was that a coffee cup I saw for $30?! OK, maybe it was $20. Sound, staging, and venue was top-notch. Gillian Welch as opening act was an inspired choice.

ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. FROM THE FIRST POWER CHORD TO THE LAST. THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU HAVE OLD TIME ROCKERS GET TOGOTHER AND SHOW THEIR STUFF AFTER 40 PLUS YEARS OF PERFECTING THEIR CRAFT. IT REALLY DOSENT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. IF THEY COME TO YOUR TOWN RUN DONT WALK BUT WHATEVER YOU DO JUST GET YOURSELF THERE. I NOW UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CAME UP WITH THE NAME "BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD". THE SOUND WAS MASSIVE AND POWERFULL JUST LIKE A BUFFALO BUT WHITH THAT MID NORTH AMERICAN CONTINANT SOUND THAT COMBINES ROCK, COUNTRY AND JUST DOWN RIGHT GRITTINESS OF SOUND THAT MAKES YOU STAND ON YOUR FEET AND HOPE IT NEVER ENDS.

The show was outstanding! I was amazed that everyone s voice could still hit all the high notes as well as the low ones. I hope they recorded the show for live concert CD's for sale because I want one! Mr. Young seemed to be having a great time as he was dancing all over the stage, and it looked like he was just plain having fun working with the other original members of the band after all these years. There was a lot of gray hair in the seats and on stage, but everyone remembered had to rock out for the night!

After a recent concert experience with groups from the 60s, my wife and I were maybe a little apprehensive about this one, especially considering how long it'd been since they last toured. They did not disappoint. After they finished with Mr. Soul, I turned to wife and yelled over the din of applause, "So much for Geezer Rock! They cook!" From the rockers to the beautiful ballads, the arrangements were spot on. I never got to see them when they were touring in the 60s (my buddy saw them at the Whittier High School gym), but they're one of my all time favorite bands, and I've always wondered what they sounded like live. Listening to that music reinforced how much they had going way back before country went rock, or rock went country. It was groundbreaking then, and holds up so, so well today. A huge thank you to the guys for finally getting back together. It was worth every penny and more.

What a magical fantastic evening! The first concert of the reunion tour! The weather was perfect and the band was great! Kind of a rough start on the first couple of songs, but you get that at most any concert. Total time-warp to the past! I loved every second of it. This reunion tour shouldn't be missed by anyone that ever listened to and loved their original incarnation! Neil is fantastic no matter who he plays with-or alone. Such rock history and an emotionaly overwhelming experience for me! ( just my humble opinion- For What It's Worth)

Simply a great show of different talents, who a long time ago went their own way & did their own thing - only to later reunite for a spell and realize again - how good they were together! Might make a good biography, but the fellas might think otherwise?? Also how lucky I was growing up with this music; thanks guys, you made my summer once again!! . . . and thank you Ms Welch - loved your voice; I quickly recognized your voice from the O Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack - a pleasant surprise!!
