Saw this on 01March in Orlando. Show was so dark (lots of night scenes and too much fog), could NOT hear the actors, was very disappointed. Puppetry was well done. Would not reccomend this show - I'm a season ticket holder and this was even worse than Flashdance. My favs so far are Book of Morman and Mary Poppins.

The horse puppets were spectacular. As for the play itself and the music, my reaction was "meh". It could have been a lot shorter as far as I was concerned.

Amazing, amazing puppetry and special affects. A true feat of genius to translate this onto the stage. It felt like the written words on a page breathing to life. One could feel the epic presence of a world war pounding all around, yet have an intimate glimpse into the character's lives. The puppeteers were the true heroes of this production and did not disappoint. Only disappointment was the constant 'large' emoting of the main character, it just grew tiresome at points. But all was redeemed by the amazing overall production. Another great theater production.

War Horse exceeded our expectations. Very emotional moments surrounded by tragic events of war. Also the puppets projected actual personalities that were believable and "real" characters which fit in perfectly. Ya just gotta see it! Downside: Love the Moran Theatre and always select the loge. Some of the actors did not project sufficiently to hear during critical segments of the play. This should in no way reflect on the overall brilliance of War Horse. Comparison: My wife and I agreed that Wicked (seen in Miami) was on the top of our list -- it is now in second place!

The worse play I have seen in a long time. The play was boring 95% of the time. Could not understand most of the actors dialog and the sound effects were poor. I'm really sorry I wasted my time and money.

I saw the movie and all of the scenes were understood by me. However, some around me, mentioned they did not understand the relationship between the scene and play. I seemed to forget these were puppets. They just drew me into the play, and I felt the emotion of Joey and the war. The performers were outstanding in their parts. Has been a long time since I have been to one of the plays, but will certainly be coming back.

The sound system was terrible, and the accents were soo heavy you could not understand much of what was being said. We might as well have been watching a real Italian Opera.

The special effects added a sense of realism drawing you in and making you feel you were taking part. Most spectacular of all were the horse puppets. Don't miss this show!

I already saw the movie, which was somewhat boring. In contrast, the play was terrific from beginning to end! Terrific venue, terrific cast, terrific puppets. It was easy to hear the actors. The movement of the horses showed that people had studied live horse movements and behavior extensively. My wife really enjoyed the goose.

While the story of War House does not stand out, the utterly amazing puppetry of the event makes up for it. Not since seeing The Lion King have I been so captivated. The people responsible for the realistic portrayal of the horses deserve 5 stars. I could even "feel" the horses pulling the grass with their teeth.

War Horse was a play that I would recommend everyone see, horse lover or not. The whole show was wonderful, but they obviously spent a lot of time researching how horses move and act. They made them very life-like in their motions and behavior. I got the tickets for my moms birthday and we both had a great time!

Poor acoustics couple with the heavy English/Irish accents of the actors took some zing out of the play. Special effects were nothing short of FABULOUS and worth the price of admission. The puppeteers did a masterful job recreating the "essence" of a real horse

It was so amazing at the life size of the horses and the men that worked them did a great job. You really thought they were real. Good play. First time at the Hershey Theater, but will return for more shows. Beautiful theater.

This musical adaptation from the screen play captures the heart. Easily you forget that the horses are puppets and become drawn into their very real personalities. You feel the thrill of watching them gallop and their fears as service animals during war. The relationship between horse and man can bring one through the range of emotions This was the perfect Christmas gift. Everyone should want a horse for the holidays!

Sadly sound difficulties ruined the audiences' ability to deeply connect with the characters and story line. Moreover noone wanted to explain to patrons that there was a problem so patrons left either thinking their hearing was faulty or the play was simply not as moving as one had hoped, heard, and read. Very unprofessionally handled by Hershey Theatre staff as well as the production company. After the performance I Spoke to some of the lead actors and shared my experience with them so that they would have an explanation as to why the Audience did not seem responsive. They said the sound engineer was an apprentice that night. Very unfortunate. Additionally the lighting engineer was terribly unpleasant when I inquired as to the problem, all he could do was point the finger and snarl that he did not want to be bothered with the issue. Overall it was a disappointing end to a much anticipated event.

I hesitated to see the touring company, because we had seen the play in London, where it was so well-done. I was absolutely thrilled that the touring company was equal to the challenge. The play was so emotional and so beautifully presented. Everything about it was amazing. It was easy to forget that I wasn't watching real horses. They were that personal and that real.

The horses become very real within a few minutes of the opening curtain. Easy to become emotionally involved with them. Knew I wanted to see the stage show after seeing the movie, and am still amazed at what was accomplished. The Battle of the Somme on stage! Use of projected images further enhances the experience.

The whole play was outstanding. If you could just eliminate the puppeteers in your mind you would believe all the animals were truly alive. The coordination among the puppeteers is just incredible.

It was a great play. I never saw the movie or read the book but this really touched me and you forgot that the horses were actually puppets. I was moved to tears so I couldn't have watched the real horses go through this ordeal. Very good!

Having seen the movie, I wasn't sure what to expect. I have been a fan of musicals as well and had never experienced anything like this production. The puppeteers were genius and the story well-told.

My son, daughter-in-law & myself saw this performance while they were visiting over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and although they knew very little (I had seen the movie) about the overall theme of this play, they were literally "blown away" with the performance! I did feel that although there may have been TOO much emphasis for the "war" theme especially in Act #2, that did NOT detract at all from the overall quality of this show! The puppetry was simply AMAZING (5 star +) for the two star horses (Joey & Topperhorn) but be sure not to overlook that "duck" as well! Simply put, if you do NOT attend this show you will miss one of the best broadway touring performances in many of a year! Make certain to put "War Horse" in your current bucket list; I will certainly see it if it should ever return to the Syracuse NY area! ENJOY!!!
