Julieta Venegas

Few singer/songwriters have as broad an appeal as Julieta Venegas. Having established herself as an alternative artist at the forefront of the Mexican music scene in the late 90s, her third album showed a departure into pop rock that immediately earned her worldwide attention. Her live shows translate the melodic hooks of her songs into a powerful performance, and many ticket holders stay on after in hopes that she’ll come back out for an encore. This is definitely one show fans wish would go on forever.

How could a show with so much great potential turn out so poor? I've never paid that much money for tickets to see talent backed by two guys trying to make production tracks sound like a concert. There should've at least been a dedicated drumset behind the multi-instrumentalist producers; they were clearly talented, but upstaged Julieta in many cases while playing several instruments to create music behind her that sounded anemic without proper dynamics. No band?!?! C'mon guys. This is exactly where a Musician's Union should be able to step in and shut down a "concert" in response to a show's producer killing the job market in an attempt to guard profit margins and in turn letting down dedicated fans. Tried to get my money back (4 tickets) but the house manager ended up being rude and kicked me out. Wow.

Had a great time listening to JV's old and new material. Such a talented performer and band. It was like listening to the record, they were that good. Venue was excelent; usher escorted us all the way to our seats.

I drove 2 hours to see this show ...She played an awesome set, a little short I thought, but still worth it. She had so much energy and sounded amazing live!

She is a great performer. I would have given her 5 stars but the rest of the experience was unacceptable. The tickets stated doors open at 7pm, doors opened at 8pm and there was a line outside the venue that went around the block. The opening acts were ok but ended early. The main act came on stage about 45 minutes later, this was dissappointing. Not cool for a Sunday evening event. Julieta rocked! so I felt better about waiting so long..

The show performed at the House of Blues by Julieta Venegas was phenomenal, she combines guitars with keyboards , and the very cultural sounds of her accordion. Her multi talented group includes some wind instruments as well as amazing percussion. To top it all off, her mesmerizing voice pierces through her crowd and infatuates everyone immediately. What i truly enjoyed from this show though, is the unmatched positivity that this artist gives off, she briefly explains her songs before playing them, and it makes the listener feel human just like her.

Julieta Venegas is an unforgettable performer, singer and songwriter. Her music has been an indelible part of my life for more years than I care to count. Seeing her live for the second time was a dream come true. Her set was intimate and accessible at the small venue she performed at. She is like an angel that walks among us, singing to us to help us overcome our grievances and pains. The romance of her love songs is sublime. The tragedy in her sad songs is truly melancholic. I highly recommend seeing her with someone you love

I loved everything about this concert. She was lovely. She sounds incredible live. She sang all of my favorite songs. She also gave a brief introduction about each song and its meaning, very thoughtful. She played a variety of musical instruments, very impressive! I believe Julieta Venegas is the best singer of all of Latin America as well as Spain. She is so underrated! Her songs mean something and she has kept her style and not followed the crowd just to sell records. She also has a great image and is a great role model for our youth.
