Hoodie Allen
Alternative hip-hop artist Hoodie Allen crossed over from underground to mainstream attention with his 2012 All American EP, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes chart as well as the Billboard top ten. The rapper and singer was born Steven Markowitz in New York City and grew up in a Jewish household in Plainview, Long Island, writing lyrics as a kid and rapping at friends' parties in high school, where he adopted his moniker from the childhood nickname Hoodie. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, he released 2008’s Making Waves mixtape and 2009’s Bagels and Beats EP and Pep Rally mixtape, which sampled Death Cab for Cutie, Flight Facilities, and Two Door Cinema Club, and generated internet buzz for its track "You Are Not A Robot", sampling Marina & The Diamonds.

First thing I did after I walked in the door was visit the merch table to get myself a t-shirt. Hoodie was there (as he is at every one of his shows) and he grabbed my shirt for me, quickly chatted with me, and then signed it before handing it to me. Myles Parrish and Luke Christopher opened the show and both had great sets. Hoodie Allen then came out and did his thing and absolutely killed it. Highly, HIGHLY recommend that you see Hoodie Allen whenever you get the chance because I always missed out on his earlier concerts and definitely regret doing so.

The concert venue is small and quaint. Seating needs to be redone. Hoodie Allen really puts on a very good energetic concert. First time seeing them. Takes me back to live rap bands like Roots as a kid. Took my two older kids and they extremely enjoyed it. Great experience.

I LOVE me some hoodie allen, he put on a great show... very entertaining and sounded perfect. I definitely felt too old to be there considering about 99% of the audience was white suburban high schoolers. I had a good time nonetheless. Unfortunately there was another show after him so the meet and greet got cut WAY too short, I was just a few people away from meeting him when we all got pushed out. Kind of a big disappointment but it was out of hoodie's control so oh well!

The opening acts were amazing, and Hoodie was beyond my expectations. It didn't even seem like a rap concert. He did songs from all three major EP's (Pep Rally, Leap Year, and All American), he did covers, and Jimmy's drum solos were BEYOND BELIEF!

Although Kyle and Hoodie were great... I bought two tickets for the sole purpose of seeing BLACKBEAR. We then heard at the concert that he was not there. I wish I would have been informed of this otherwise I would have sold my tickets. I am disappointed I was never informed of this.

My daughter and her friends came out of this event pumped up with adrenaline. They could not stop raving about it. The highlight for them was certainly HA who they said was in non-stop motion on the stage, constantly engaging the crowd. Something about the stage, I guess, allowed him to go further into the audience. They enjoyed the openers too.

First let me say I had never heard the name hoodie Allen before my friend texted me to ask if I wanted to go to his concert. Second let me say I'm so glad that I went. The concert was amazing. He is actually incredibly talented and the sheer energy he put into his performance was outstanding. The venue was also perfect for this type of event. Everything just was amazing. I didn't know all of the artists but they all made it a really great and unforgettable time. By the end of it I was a fan of all three artists and not just Hoodie. It was really fun seeing the Kyle's Choreo, as well as the fan interaction they had with the surf board and raft. We may have been packed in like sardines, but I loved it.

We bought these tickets originally to see Blackbear but apparently he dropped out of the tour. It would have been nice if they notified ticket holders out of courtesy. Otherwise, it was a good show. Overall, I really wasn't impressed. The doors were supposed to open at 7:00 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. show, but we didn't get inside until 7:15 p.m. For some reason, Hoodie needed three opening acts, which really wasn't necessary. 2 of the acts were decent and 1 wasn't at all. The wait time between the acts was long, but the wait time after the last act and right before Hoodie came on was beyond ridiculous! I thought it was disrespectful to the fans to make them wait that long. Even his band was on the stage ready to play, but Hoodie was delaying coming out.

Hoodie Allen is by far the best entertainer I have ever seen live. His set is incredibly long(which is great!!), but he keeps the energy going throughout the entire show. Never once does he slow down, and his vocal talent still stays strong all the way until the end. Hoodie is truly about the fans... Signing/selling march for the first hour the doors are open. His opener, SuperDuperKyle is just as outstanding as Hoodie. I had not heard of him before the Happy Camper Tour, but I am now a fan. This was also the other opener, Blackbear's, final show because of a temper tantrum he decided to have. He has talent, but he needs to get some serious help and realize he cancelled for his own selfish reasons. Blackbear left his many fans that were looking forward to seeing him on the HC tour upset and majorly disappointed.

We took our daughter and 2 friends to this concert for her birthday and they had a blast! The VIP with Hoodie was an all time life's greatest moment (so far)! They also received early admission and were 2nd row through the 2nd act. Unfortunately due to the pushing and shoving, by the time Hoodie came on they had to come out of the crowd to stand near the back. That was a huge disappointment to them but they still had a great time!

Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Hoodie Allen but this show was really amazing. His opening acts were amazing and really entertaining. Hoodie himself really delivered a memorable show. That doesn't mean it wasn't exhausting, I didn't lose my voice or I didn't have a headache from the music (because it was), I just personally feel that those cons didn't out weight the pros. I'm a 42 year old Mom semi dragged to this concert by my 13 year old daughter and was pleasantly surprised by the music and show. The openers were good and I happen to think she has good taste in music for a kid. I downloaded his albums after the show! I enjoy all types of music therefore was openminded to his. Other than standing outside in the cold for way too long (remember I'm old), I have nothing to complain about. The meet and greet made her night that much more special. Although, she wouldn't allow me in the picture! (So I took my own with him. Ha!) Would see him again.

The show was great. For an upcoming artist the show was amazing! Now what I didn't like was having to wait 4 hours in line thinking we where going to get to meet him and then getting passed in line by a bunch of ppl showing up right before the show. I recomend to come at the time of the show or maybe a little after the show started to not wait in line. Another thing, he had 3 opening acts before he actually came out. The show started at 8:30 pm and he ended up coming out at almost 10. We where very close to the front row of the stage. 2 ppl in front of me and then there was the stage where he preformed. You would think we had the best seats ever but truth is it was horrible. Ppl shoved and sweated all over you. And they where rude and you couldn't breath and ppl started getting into fights and they just didn't respect your space cuz everyone was so squished up. The view was way better from the seats then infront of the stage! Over all the show was great but stay in a seat not in the crowd!

Although it took over two hours to get to the actual performance in a sweaty cramped mob, it was definitely all worth it. Hoodie was even better in person. His vocals were incredible and the show had many exciting aspects to keep all the viewers interested. There were many different creative segments aside from just singing his songs. These were throwing cake at the audience during "cake boy", playing jump rope with the bras thrown on stage, having a dance off with the sexiest and most energetic fans, and surprising the crowd by changing scenery to different ends of the ballroom. The lights, confetti, balloons, smoke, and other effects effects also gave the show a great vibe. If you have a concert coming up near you and you do not attend, then you are making the worst decision of your life.

In a week when I saw the following artists (all at Final Four in Atlanta); Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Ludacris, Fol Rida, Sting, Dave Matthews Band, Zac Brown Band, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, BY FAR MY FAVORITE concert this week was Hoodie Allen!! This was easily the best concert I've ever been to! Hoodie had so much energy the whole time, it was just incredible. It felt like a crazy party even. The only downside was the crowd was pretty young, a lot younger than I expected but that didn't affect my experience really at all. The opening acts were very good as well, and what I really enjoyed was the down time between acts was very short. I would definitely recommend seeing Hoodie Allen live.

I went to see Hoodie with my best friend because she really loves him and I sometimes listened to his songs as well. I hadn't set high expectations because usually rappers aren't too great live and I wasn't as into Hoodie as she was. But i was completely wrong. He sounded exactly the same live, his opening act Jared Evan was so great. I met some new friends, the scene was nice, the energy was through the roof and I had one of the best nights ever. He had a meet and greet afterward but I ended up going home since it was over an hour drive back.

I came from Cleveland Ohio and I would definitley come again if the played again in Chicago!! The house of blues in Chicago is one of the nicest venues I've been to and the staff is great! Great show! I love that Hoodie Allen has reasonably priced VIP packages and that he was selling and signing his own merchandise at the merch stand for everyone that didn't get a meet and greet. His performance is interactive and a lot of fun- very high energy. The only two things I would change- volume- the band was loud, making it hard to hear Hoodie, and I would have loved to hear more Myles.

Hoodie put on one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. All three acts interacted with the crowd and really wanted everyone to have a great time. The finale was crazy! Get there early though, people were outside waiting starting at 4:30pm the day before the show.

I've been a fan of Hoodie Allen for a few years now and I was lucky to be able to go to his show last summer at the Cabooze Plaza in Minneapolis. I was even more excited to find out that he was returning to perform at the Skyway Theatre this year. Hoodie puts on an absolutely amazing performance and there's no way you won't have fun! I also really enjoyed his two openers, SuperDuperKyle and Blackbear. All three of them were so much fun to watch on stage and I will definitely be going to see Hoodie again whenever he returns to Minnesota. Also, I was very fortunate enough to be able to meet him! He is such a sweet and nice guy. So genuine and you can tell that he loves what he does and he does not take any of it for granted.

hoodie is my favorite person to see in concert. I had so much fun and was never bored here! His act was amazing. After he came back on for encore it was so lit and honestly the best thing ever.

Honestly the best show you'll see. Happy Camper has definitely been one of his best tours and albums. Hoodie is so down to earth and gives so many chances to meet him on tour. He also stays interacting on twitter. Such a nice dude, glad and happy I support him :-)

Hoodie Allen is an amazing rapper and seeing him live is an unforgettable experience all around. Blackhear and Kyle were so amazing as well and made you laugh and gave great performances. The whole show was absolutely unforgettable and i could go see it every day forever if it was possible

Well - this is our fourth show and it was definitely the best. The atmosphere, sound, lighting and videography all played a part in this fabulous show. My daughter was sick but said that nothing would keep her from going to the show because it's all about the new with old songs. I was standing back by Jason the lighting/soundboard wizard and my daughter was in the pit. We left with smiles on our faces.... and the traditional free Fillmore posters.

No words can explain how much fun we had. We met Hoodie at the merch table, he was beyond nice!! And the show was incredible. DO NOT miss the openers, Max and Chiddy Bang. They were FANTASTIC too.

The concert was spectacular. Hoodie Allen really made a lasting impression. This was my first concert to go to by him and I will for sure go to every other concert he has in Dallas. He was super energetic the entire time and was extremely nice when meeting his fans. I was able to get my shirt signed by him and then had the awesome opportunity of getting a picture with him after the show and both times he was so kind. I would definitely recommend this concert to anyone!

Hoodie Allen just keeps getting better and better! This is the third show of his that I have attended in the past year. Hoodie has been giving it his all. His new album, people keep talking is incredible! His setlist was a perfect blend of these new songs and his oldies from crew cuts, pep rally and all American. Insane show! Would go back any day! ALSO MEETING HOODIE BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST HUNDES TO BUY MERCH WAS AMAZING!

Hoodie Allen puts on a solid show. Not only are his lyrics fun and clever, but his backing band of drums, bass, guitar and DJ was a great compliment. The venue (The Wiltern) is great too!
