I went to a lot of concerts this summer and a couple of them really stood out as above the rest, but this one truly took the cake! Rob Thomas certainly knows how to connect with the crowd and make you feel like you are having a shared experience. The Counting Crows were sometimes great and sometimes lackluster, but Matchbox 20 was ON the entire time! Just a wonderful show!!

I'd give this ten stars if I could. We saw Matchbox Twenty in 2013 and I walked away thinking that the best concert performance I've ever seen. Over the next four years, we saw Lifehouse, The Goo Goo Dolls, Three Doors Down, Daughtry, Rob Thomas solo, Roger Waters (solo), David Gilmour (solo) and U2, plus others. I still held Matchbox near the top of my list, but David Gilmour was nothing short of incredible. Gilmour's music from Pink Floyd to current, plus his light show, we believed, made him the top concert we'd seen. Then we saw Matchbox again in July 2017. Being two different types of music, we believe that Matchbox ranks right there with Gilmour as the top concerts, with Matchbox being the top rock act we've seen. Matchbox is by far the most active and theatrical band we've seen. These guys BRING IT! Amazing performance. Add to that, they had a grand piano, a keyboard, a steel slide, plus guitars, base and drums. While Rob Thomas put on a flawless vocal performance, Kyle Cook, with guitar, continually ran across the stage and Paul Doucette pounded out matching guitar work - AND played the grand piano and drums! If you have the chance to see Matchbox, don't pass. These guys are amazing.

Before this concert, I did not know many Counting Crow songs, Only the ones released on the radio. This being said, I did not enjoy their portion of the concert. They did not play their #1 hits and mostly tried to promote their latest album by playing songs from it. Matchbox 20 was amazing. They are all great performers and always keep the audience involved, while playing all of the music we have all grown to love!

Matchbox was amazing. we have been to quite a few concerts and this was one of the best thanks to Matchbox 20. Rob got out there and sang his heart out to the crowd. They we're thankful to their fans. Counting Crows I couldn't say the same, it didn't seem like they wanted to be there. They didn't sing any of their popular songs. Everyone around us in the audience said the same. I would skip the the Crows and Matchobox will be enough.

We already knew Matchbox Twenty would deliver- they always do. High energy performance, Rob hits every note, incredible performers. Can I talk about Kyle? How amazing it was that he opened with his band Rivers & Rust (Marshall has a wonderful voice, and the band was also on point - can't wait for their album) and went on to do his full set with Matchbox?? He also took time between shows to meet people/sign autographs. AND - he recognized my husband and me from an earlier tweet about our anniversary - I can't recognize friends in the grocery store without expecting them and I'm not famous. Surreal experience. Counting Crows - I did not expect much. I love listening to Adam speak, he's fun, but when he toured with Rob Thomas last year, I wasn't impressed with his live performance. WOW - this time he was performing to the level of MB20. Sounded like his albums, sounded like he still enjoyed his songs, and the crowd was responding in kind. (I know he has a disorder that affects his performances sometimes - it was great to see him in good form). Also, the music in Counting Crows songs is just really well done. Wish I had more money, so I could travel and watch them perform more venues.

Long time fan of the Counting Crows, seen them many, many times and always enjoyed it. Surprisingly they seemed to lack energy and were in a word "meh" this time. Matchbox 20, on the other hand, blew me away. I have always liked them, enjoyed a number of songs but I was concerned how they would be live. My concerns were quieted from the get go as they rocked start to finish. High energy and electrified the crowd. I had no idea how many of their songs I knew and really liked. Song after song throughout the whole show. I can remember thinking after about the first hour or so that I wasn't sure they had any more that I didn't know. Couldn't have been more wrong. Right through the encore was friendly, familiar song that I was delighted to see them do live. Terrific performance.

I haven't seen this band in 14 years but it's like no time has passed. They have so much energy, are so exited to play and want to make you just as excited. This set was similar to others on the tour except they swapped out two songs for "So Sad So Lonely" (which rocked!!) and "Shame." Paul played drums, guitar (sometimes almost at once) and piano. Kyle's guitar sounds phenomenal live. Really high-energy set. Rob said he knows that "nothing ever happens on a Tuesday," but they were there to change it. Played 10/12 from Yourself or Someone Like You to commemorate 20 years of the album. Would love to see them again on this tour.

Performances of the co-headliners were as expected. But note! Rivers and Rust, the opening act, is a duo with Kyle Cook, lead guitarist of Matchbox Twenty. They also appear at the main merchandise table after their set. So if you want the maximum Matchbox Twenty experience, be sure to be there on time! (We got there late and missed them, thanks to White Rivers' oh-so-inconvenient location in the boonies of the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation.)

Matchbox 20 did not disappoint, (they never do). The band is as "tight" as ever. River & Rust was a pleasant surprise, of course a number of years ago Matchbox 20 introduced us to Maroon 5... White River Amphitheatre is a good venue, great sound-good seating options....However I thought the food & drink selections were grossly overpriced...I didn't think a venue could be more expensive than a major league sporting event...and the food quality did not match what I get either Mariners or Seahawks...this will make me rethink attending concerts at this venue.

I thought the concert was outstanding, I have only heard Mr. Jones by Counting crows, but I thought their music was real good also, and as for Matchbox 20, Oh my, I was completely impressed with the music they played and the stage show it's self........I was standing the whole time they were performing. The only was it could have been better would have been with a VIP meet and greet but they priced those way out of the price range I would be willing to pay for it................but all the groups I thought were good and gave a good performance, If you get a chance to see this show, I would recommend it if you like Counting Crows and Matchbox 20.......

I love MB20 and Rob Thomas - and make a point of going to atleast one show every tour. Matchbox Twenty put on a great show - as always. A great variety of music and a high energy show. Rivers & Rust were great openers and Kyle and Sheila were very nice at the meet and greet. This venue was very nice. With VIP parking there was a very short walk. Seats were roomy and comfortable with plenty of leg room. There were plenty of nice restrooms - no annoying waits.

It seems some people's comments have been far more flattering to Matchbox's set than the Crows'. I find this confusing. While Robb Thomas and co. know how to put on a show, what makes this concert special is Counting Crows. People have complained because they want to hear all the hits played exactly the way they are on record so they can all sing along. Counting Crows has never done- and will never do- this. They are artists, and music is their art form. Their desire to change their set list daily is what makes each of their shows an event. Regulars in their set like "Miami" and "Palisades Park" are great songs even if they are not "hits." Give them a listen sometimes, and be open-minded to how they incorporate classics like "Pale Blue Eyes" and "Born to Run" into their own pieces and cover songs that inspire them. Some of the greatest artists ever have been about so much more than sing-alongs and greatest hits shows. They are not stuck in 1994; why you be?

Matchbox Twenty was fantastic! They had a great set list covering all of their albums and lots of energy on the stage. Rivers and Rust opened and they were good too. Counting Crows played next and they were rather static. OK but I wouldn't be interested in seeing them live again. Matchbox Twenty played last and was definitely the highlight of the evening.

Matchbox 20 was great! They played all of their hits, and the show was very entertaining. The Counting Crows band sounded great. The lead singer did not really sing most of the songs but was just saying the lyrics. They did not play "Mr. Jones", and that was disappointing. I will not attend another Counting Crows concert. I love the Counting Crows I did not like their over the top stage lighting. I think Adam was not his best but bless his heart he tried. The lights were way too much, sometimes just because you can doesn't mean you should. Matchbox Twenty was tight. The stage was sparse and one expensive overhead flexible lighting rig. Much nicer. As for the venue. The walkway / colannade and bars are visible to the sides of the stage. That's greedy tacky and takes away from the artist and is sad. Definitely not a venue built for listening it was built to cash in. My complaint is that they could have done both with the right designers. It's a sound cone shaped open back venue that uses volume to substitute for good acoustics.

First thing: The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory is an awesome venue. Everything was so new and clean. Parking garage was available with a short walk to the venue, and traffic was smooth entering and exiting. Lots of people were working and very helpful. The only problem was trying to access restrooms from the sold out lawn seats. The women's and men's rooms are on opposite sides of the lawn. As always Matchbox Twenty rocked the house! Amazing show as always. During the encore, they did a cover of Simple Mind's Don't You that was point on. But Counting Crows was a dud. The songs they played were very slow and some were not recognizable. They didn't even play Mr. Jones. What artist doesn't play their biggest hits? If Counting Crows had played last, I would've left early.

Venue needs a lot of work. Took most of the show to get the sound right, and still highly under construction. I ve seen the Counting Crows many times, this was by far the most mediocre performance I have seen my Adam Duritz. He acted like he didn t care and wasn t feeling well or jiving with the audience like he usually does. Thank goodness Matchbox 20 was so amazing!! I was very disappointed in the Counting Crows. I am a LONG time fan of theirs and was truly disappointed in the way Adam sang the songs. When we go to a concert we want to hear the songs they way they were written and performed on the album. That did not happen with 99% of the songs. On the upside, :) Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 was so good! we were all up dancing and singing along. It was quite memorable. The new venue still has some kinks to work out. 8000 people on the lawn is WAY too many. The sound system was good, i will be very interested to see a concert with the doors closed.

I had a very enjoyable evening. Parking was a little difficult so we parked a little far out but the weather was nice so it was a nice walk. They checked for contraband at the door and bags had to be smaller than 8x11 so some got turned away but I was within limits. They checked our binoculars to make sure they were not alcohol carrying kind. Lol. Our seats were great under the covering and the temperature was perfect. Matchbox 20 delivered a performance that kept me engaged the whole time! I love how passionate Rob Thomas is and his band as well. Lots of memories were brought back. I can t wait to see them again!

I went to the Counting Crows/ Matchbox 20 concert. I went for the Counting Crows. We bought VIP tickets. Which is why we got to meet them and sit in on rehearsal. I have to say Adam was AMAZING. He picked up the mike and he was loud and clear and amazing. Even at rehearsal. We liked Matchbox 20. But there was a huge difference between the artists. Counting Crows was soulful and voice driven, emotional and effortless (Adam chewed gum the entire time and seemed relaxed. His voice was very powerful) Rob Thomas is more of an entertainer and the Matchbox 20 set was more lively and interacting with the crowd. But it was night and day. Rob Thomas was trying, straining. Nothing wrong with that. Adam was just doing what he does, felt like he was singing directly to you. Or actually more like he was singing to the person he wrote the song about and you were eavesdropping. Each song was altered. None sounded like the CD. I don't know how his band follows/ keeps up with him. I would see Counting Crows 100 more times. At one point Adam and his guitar player, David, did an acoustic song. I noticed that the guitar player didn't have a pick. He was just using his fingers. INSANE Adam never introduced the band, or himself really. He said hi and made a couple jokes. He was amazing at the photo op. Lighthearted, made comments to each person as they came up. He smiled for every photo. Even when I made it awkward! What an amazing experience. I have always loved the Counting Crows... They are timeless. Their lyrics are thoughtful, deep, descriptive and intelligent. For as long as I can remember my lifelong dream was to be a drummer for the Counting Crows. No,I can't play drums..

Rivers and Rust were awesome. If you are a CC fan (I'm not), they did put on a great show and we enjoyed it. It was a million times better than when CC toured with Rob Thomas last year. Matchbox Twenty was stellar as ever. Paul Doucette is AMAZING. Kyle was awesome. Rob's voice seemed a bit hoarse, but it didn't detract from the music of professionalism of putting on an outrageously good show. Wonderful band. Wonderful show. I was overjoyed to be there!

Was disappointed in Counting Crows, we had seen them back in 2003 and really liked them, so we had expected to enjoy them this time. It was like they were talking the songs rather than singing them, and the pace of the songs was weird. Maybe they were just off that night, but we just weren't feeling it. Matchbox 20 was the highlight of the show for us, they played a good range of songs and sounded good. I felt like I was back in the late 90s for a while! I'm glad we went, just wish Counting Crows had been better.

This was my 6th tour seeing MB20/Rob Thomas...by far the BEST! So many olf songs and they still sound better live.....as if that is possible. So much fun!

Matchbox was great. Rob Thomas controls the energy of the room. His band members are great also. Counting Crows disappointed everyone. They did okay at times but everyone was really waiting for their best song Mr. Jones which they did NOT play. The crowd all walked out extremely confused and upset about not having that song play.

Great Concert. Even though the acoustics in the place were not great, Matchbox 20 put on an excellent show, as did Counting Crowes. I would definitely go see Rob and the boys again.

I throughly enjoyed this concert and this arena. Matchbox 20 is one of my favorite bands and I've seen them every time They've come to central FL. They never disappoint and each time I'm more amazed and excited !! I love Rob Thomas!! Highly recommend. And Dailys Place was a nice arena. I have never been there before and it was very nicely set up

Matchbox Twenty put on an amazing live show. What a talented group of artists those guys are. Rob Thomas definitely still has the "it" factor, I hope they keep it up for many years to come so I can keep going to see them.

Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows tour well together. Rob Thomas and Matchbox Twenty brought a huge amount of energy to the show. I was surprised that Counting Crows was the opener, and Adam didn't have his usual amount of energy/commentary/"we will be back" etc., but the band made up for it. The venue was smokey, and no one stood up for Counting Crows which was odd. Otherwise, a great show for 3.5 hours total...

Matchbox 20 was incredible! Rob Thomas is the ultimate performer. My husband wasn't a huge fan, but went because I was and even he said one the best shows he's seen! The crowd was definitely older in the floor seats (well, our age!) and not sure about rest of the areas, and the women LOVE Rob. Counting Crows were great too although their sound quality was not nearly as clear as MB20. Rivers and Rust were GREAT also! We actually hadn't heard of them but were interested in learning more.

Did not disappoint. They jammed. They played a great set list with mesmerizing versions of the music and vocals. Have seen them together and Rob Thomas solo on several occasions live and on tv. This was my favorite performance. Would do that again anytime.

Rob Thomas and his mates sounded so crisp and good, and carried the night like a headliner should. They played 22 MB20 songs without having to rely on solo or cover material. The band was full of energy and in the moment.

Counting Crows is my favorite band and I haven't seen them in 17 years! I loved every minute! Matchbox 20 was amazing also. Great show, great energy! Most people were there to see Matchbox 20, but we found some diehard Crows fans. I had lawn tickets, but since I rode the shuttle they upgraded my ticket to sect 2 which was awesome!

Show was awesome. I knew every song they played except one. Wish they had played Kody but it was still AWESOME!! The band was so into it. Rob Thomas was into it. He was all over the stage. He took someone's cell and went all around the stage recording. I would've died. It was great!! I will definitely go again. Loved it when sweaty Rob Thomas said "I'm glad we did this in September when it's not HOT!" Hahaha. Counting Crows was not so good. I feel bad for saying that but....

My first time to Riverbend and seeing Matchbox 20. I have seen Counting Crows over 20 times. Both performances were excellent and the venue was great. Very easy to get in and out and the flow of the event was great as well.

Counting crows opened the show with a great set list; theirs was the longest opener I've ever seen... it was like a concert before the concert. Matchbox 20 was great. Everything about the show was super. As for the venue (Blossom Music Center; Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio)... I have only one complaint which is the food. Bought a pretzel and it was nasty; it was cold, barely salted, and tasted old. I will take my own snacks to this venue from now on.

Matchbox 20 was so worth going to see. They played all my favorite songs. Too bad the person at Blossom who was the camera man was so terrible! I don't know what he was doing. Never kept the camera on the person singing or playing! No close ups. Weird!
