It was so enjoyable and the characters were perfect with their roles. I liked the different storylines from the movie but I did feel that it was so similar to the movie. I would definitely go again to this show.

We enjoyed the production very much. I thought the ticket prices were affordable. The cast did an amazing job! From our seat in 105 it was impossible to see the right side of the stage. Overall, we still LOVED it!

I felt it would be impossible to recreate the motion picture version on stage. but I was wrong! From the opening scene, I felt as though I was there too. Almost as if I was seeing the story for the first time, And I'm in my 50's. Also enjoyed the scene that was omitted from the original film. Can't say enough great things. ( Remember there are events that may frighten the very young.) Something my grandkids will remember when I'm long gone. Get your Grandkids, our take your neighbor and their family. You can't take it with you, and soon it maybe to late!!!

All of the cast, including Toto, were wonderful! Story strayed a little from the original a few times but I'm assuming that is due to it being on stage. There was one glaring omission that is integral to The Wizard of Oz...there was no yellow brick road! I understand not being able to have a carpet or anything on the floor because that would make it difficult to move the props/scenery quickly and easily....but why couldn't there have been an overhead light shining the yellow brick road onto the stage? This was noticed not only by us, but also several people sitting around us. It was definitely noticed by the children in the audience as I heard the little boy sitting in the row behind us ask his mom "where is the yellow brick road?" when the cast started singing that they were off to see the wizard. Overall, I would recommend the show and also the theater. It is an older building but you aren't squished in your seat. We had first row in the balcony but I think you would pretty much have a good view from anywhere.

Dorothy will blow you away. Not only does she have some ridiculous vocals, when she spoke, she sounded exactly like Judy garland! It was like seeing garland live! The actors were incredible, the sets, lighting, projections - amazing! You have to see it!

Our family has loved the Wizard of Oz movie for years. Excited to see the stage version and we were not disappointed. The story stayed true to the film, the song and dance numbers were well-done. The stage sets were amazing. Overall, a very enjoyable show. Only drawback was the venue - the Miller High Life theater has seen better days. Worn and tired - and rather chilly to boot!

Being the classic is it, it could be hard to live up to expectations, but it did! My mom, sister and I went for my bday and it was great for young and old. Loved the cast, the costumes, the choreography, the music, the lighting; all great. Loved the jitterbug scene too, as it was unexpected! Only thing I would have changed would have been to give 'Toto's' trainer a bow!

I'm not a fine arts person, but my wife really want to see this show. I was dreading it to be honest. It didn't take 5 minutes of this show to blow me away. We attended opening night and I Loved, Loved, Loved every bit of it! The talent was amazing the costuming was awesome. I'm glad they changed it up some. It was new and refreshing. The songs and music were spot on. The visual effects and props were great. We even all enjoyed the comedy that was incorporated. I can't say one thing was my favorite part, because I Loved every bit of it. However, I do believe Toto "stole the show". He was so cute and adorable and did an amazing job. My 3 daughters and husband took me as a Belated Birthday gift, because they know how much I Love the Wizard of Oz. I'm so glad I got to experience it live. Whether you're a fan or Not of WIzard of Oz, I definitely recommend you following the Yellow Brick Road and attending. I wish I could see it again and again and again. AMAZING!!

In a charming and humorous way, the Wizard of Oz musical carries you off to a faraway land, where you can't help but sympathize with 3 endearing characters busy lamenting their overwhelming weaknesses. The innocent and compassionate Dorothy unwittingly ministers to their needs as they journey together. Their missions challenge each of them to become their best selves and use their full potential for the good of others, to their own amazement! The sound was extraordinarily good, allowing the audience to fully enjoy the fabulous voices of each actor. The sets were simple yet realistic and so easily moved! Each actor successfully managed to carry out their roles toward a united effort. Fun, happy, make-believe, that draws you in and makes you feel good. Hooray for a great job!

As a huge fan of the original (I mean, I dressed up as Dorothy to see the movie that was shown in the movie theater a few weeks ago), I was hesitant to put much faith into the production. I have extrememly high standards when it come to classics such as The Wizard of Oz. I was fortunate enough to experience this production twice during their visit to San Diego. The first time through, I realized I was getting upset and angry that they had the nerve to add songs to the repertoire of the evening and that it didn't sound exactly like the Judy Garland version. I had to take a step back and remind myself that it wasn't Ms. Garland on the stage so, yes, it will be different. A different artist has a different style, and once that permeated throughout my thoughts, I came to understand that the actress and rest of the crew were amazing! They were on key and made the experience enjoyable throughout the performance. The stage and sets blew me away. During our intermission on Saturday I was able to text my friend coming on Sunday with me. I told her that the sets were simple amazing and that I was thrilled to be able to see it all again. Overall, it was a fantastic production and I feel very fortunate to have been able to experience it twice during their week here. It was completely worth the time and money to be thrown into the world above the rainbow!

This show was much better than I expected - we took my 5 year old granddaughter dressed as Dorothy and everyone there said she was adorable, she received so much attention even the Press at the Auditorium Theatre posted her picture on their facebook page! There were mostly adults in the packed house! We were thrilled about that - but the performance was amazing - the actors did a fantastic job - their voices were beautiful and strong and Toto was adorable - he didn't seem at all bothered by the special effects! Great show - if you have the opportunity - see this.

The production was clearly well thought out with backdrop and fog and lights. The dancing and singing were well choreographed with precision. The story is tightly woven and does not stray away from the movie. Small children under 8 are not recommended to be brought to the show. The children that sat around me did not understand the story and were bored easily. It is difficult to have small children sit through 2+ hours of stage performance without whining or having to go to the bathroom. Just leave them home and have a great time.

The performance was excellent, well played and the scenes and costumes were top notch! The Characters did an excellent job of even sounding like the original stars of Wizard of Oz. I realize that nothing is ever 100% Perfect, but this performance was as close to it as can be. I recommend everyone see this play and recapture the memories of watching the movie. If you have never seen Wizard the Oz, the movie, then I suggest you see the play first, then rent the movie. I would have liked to see some YELLOW BRICK road on the floor of the stage, but otherwise, superb!

Beautiful costumes, dancing and singing. I would recommend printing out tickets, do not use mobile or will call. The Scenery, the colorful costumes the songs, and talented cast brought memories of watching the movie that Judy Garland starred in, back to life, with some different and humorous twists. I found it interesting that there was not even a portion of a yellow brick road on the stage for Dorothy to step off on. I did see a very tiny portion of the yellow brick road, but it was in the distant background scenery. It did not take away from this performance.

I always love the shows at the Duke Energy Center, but this one seemed poorly managed. There was NO merchandise table (seriously?! We WANTED to give you money, and couldn't.) The concessions lines were ridiculously long. At intermission, the bathrooms were so crowded, it took us until AFTER the show had already started back to get done. With as many kids as they surely knew would attend this, everything was not well done within the venue. Maybe intermission could have been longer, or more options offered for concessions, etc.

Story line and music held true to the movie. However, although the music/dancing is good it lacks the 'oomph' of a typical Broadway musical so it is more in line for a younger audience. Performers were very good and professional. Choreography was simple and in tune with the story and like the songs, except for a solo by the Lion, I never felt like jumping to my feet or cheering loudly. Costumes were well done and colorful. While difficult to recreate certain scenes, i.e. the tornado, a back drop screen was effective in portraying some. Overall a nice show to take a young family to.

I wasn't quite sure how this story, which we all know as the elaborate movie production, would translate to the stage. To my pleasant surprise it was a huge success! The appeal of this play was big for me but in execution, I found the performance uninspiring. no particular performer stood out. I suffer from knowing the story too too well and therefore there were no surprises and I think there could have been. This is not "Wicked" but it could have been something special. For now, it is suitable for children at a local theater but certainly not the Boston Opera House.

The choreography was amazing the ensemble group worked well with each. Main actors also gave an excellent performance. This was an excellent musical!! We went with our adult kids and extended family, everyone had such a fun evening. This musical was filled with exceptional talent from all, even the real dog (Toto) and the costume crew. I must say I was pretty impressed by Dorothy, the lion, tin man and scarecrow, however it wouldn't be fair to pick a favorite because everyone was SO talented :) Thank you for helping our family make such fun memories.

It was near zero when my daughter and grand daughter journeyed to the Land of Oz. We were greeted to warmth, color and cheerily beautiful song and dance. The highly professional and talented troupe merrily guided us over the rainbow and back. It was a wonderful performance with many highs, particularly in Munchkin Land. Lovely time with two of my favorite people in the world. Thank you all!

I was not sure what to expect as I had not seen a stage version of The Wizard of Oz before. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and how well it was performed by everybody in the show including the non lead characters. I thought the person playing the Scarecrow was especially good as was the person playing Dorthy. The music, dancing, everything, was excellent! I wish they had given out handbills about the actors so we could know a little more about them like at other venues, but that aside I would recommend this show to all ages! I would even see it again, i enjoyed it that much!

Not worth it. Was so excited to take my son to tea with Flinda and he show. The tea party was nice. The show wasn t that great. Very long! Almost three hours and parts just dragged. Choreography was visibly. Would not recommend to others.

Great production values by a very talented cast! This was my 10 year old granddaughter \u2018s Birthday present and she loved it. We have been to this theater twice now, and there isn t a bad seat in the house and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

I bought tickets for my cousins and our moms. My cousins and I grew up watching this movie and it s still one of our favorites. It was a no brainer to go! Then my mom said she read reviews and they were pretty bad. Talk about a downer. I completely disagree with those reviews! I am no professional judge by an means but I (and my 2 cousins and our mothers) really enjoyed it! The acting, singing, and dancing was fantastic! The sound was also clear which is always important. Overall, I would definitely recommend this show.

They played it word for word just like the movie! One of the things I generally dislike about plays is when they deviate from the movie, but this one was right on the money!! The singing was beautiful, the acting was terrific and the costume designer did a great job. Glenda's costume was the best, and her entrance was just like the movie. This was the best play I've ever seen, and I've seen many by far. I actually got lost in this one, just like I was watching a good movie. Toto was the most well-behaved dog I think I've ever seen - barked only on cue! The only disappointment I had was there were no programs, nor memorabilia to purchase.

I took my 10 year old. We started with Tea and Crumpets with Glinda. My daughter is not a princessy girl, but seemed in awe. Off to the theatre. The script was written very well and followed the movie storyline. The characters seemed to have taken pointers from the movie, also. Dorothy, made you sad when she was sad. The lion sounded exactly like the original. The monkeys were a nice unexpected surprise. All in all, WE thoroughly examined the play and it was not only really good, but most sincerely good. Great job!!!

We were disappointed in Wizard of Oz. Acting was kareokee except for the wicked witch and lion. Backdrops were mostly digital and amateur. We have seen better acting and sets at local high school performances.

The set design was great but I felt like I was attending a high school play for the amount of money I spent.

If you're a big fan of the Wizard of Oz or under 14 yrs. old, you'll love it. They follow the lines in the movie pretty much while adding an extra one liner here and there. Dorothy did a great job acting as well as singing. All of the costumes are good except for the tears in a few the of the stockings. They need to find a way to hide the wires for flying like Aladdin did with the magic carpet.

My children absolutely loved this performance. I started to think that it was running a bit long for the attention span of a 5 and 7 year old, but they stayed engaged the entire time. The costumes were great, Toto was awesome, and the venue was beautiful.
