Slayer

Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs.

This show was by far the best concert I have ever seen. Testament made a great start to the show then Behemoth added to the atmosphere of the show. Then Antgrax came on and had a perfect set and I was lucky enough to get about 8 picks from Scott Ian because they all threw entire handfuls out as well as the setlist. Lamb of God was next and got the pit really going especially with Walk With Me and I also got a setlist from them. The best part of the show by far was SLAYER!!! Starting with Repentless and ending with Angel of Death made this one of the most energetic and amazing concerts ever with both the vibe of the band and the moshing of the crowd. I got bot Gary and Kerry's picks and a concert I will never forget. Hopefully I will see them again in San Antonio but if I don't then I'm really glad to say I have been able to see Slayer before they ended their career in thrash metal.

Slayer killed it. I would have liked to see Testament, but the show started too early for me. I arrived during Lamb of God's set. I have seen LOG now three times in Texas, and have been happy with their performance every time. This was only the second time I saw Slayer, but the first time was on the Reign in Blood tour. I miss Jeff Hanneman but Gary Holt is one of my all time favorite axe slingers, so he is a good choice to handle the other guitar duties. I like Dave Lombardo, and he helped shape the ultimate metal album, Reign in Blood. But; Paul Bostaph has played enough with Slayer for me to consider him their other drummer. Plus; he played on God Hates Us All, one of my faves. And he plays on Exodus Shovel Headed Kill Machine, another fave. And he plays on Testament's Formation of Damnation, another fave. And he kills it live. The show was solid. Tom's vocals were good, Kerry ripped some solid solos, as did Gary. And Paul killed it as always. Slayer!

The concert started about 2:00 p.m. and lasted til 11 p.m. WOW!! What an experience! The excitement began on the left of Fiddler's Green where there was 2 stages. There were plenty of things to do including listening to the bands, moshing, walking around, meeting other people, buying souveniors, meeting the band, and buying cheap tickets to other concerts! Around 5, the main entry to Fiddler's opened where the main stage resided. There were several food and drink establishments to choose from while waiting for the next band. What a great lineup for a good price-The Black Dahlia Murder, God Forbid, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, & more!

Overall the show was awesome, most of the bands rocked out. I like how they kept the show going by the use of two stages seperate from the main stage so that there was always a band playing from one stage to the other without any set up time because when one stage was rockin the other stage was preping for the next act. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that it was on dirt and also the fact that it was on flat land. Unless you were super tall or pushed your way to the front a person could not see a thing and if you did push your way through to get closer a person had to deal with the dust being kicked up from the mosh pit and I have asthma and I am still coughing up crud today. Just a suggestion but maybe for future shows it should be dug out into an incline so that everyone could see better and maybe some astro turf or something to keep the dust level down. The other complaint that I have is a four dollar water that was hot I probably wouldn't have minded if it was cold and thanks to Rockstar energy drink for providing free cold rockstars otherwise I would have been drinking hot water all day. Don't get me wrong I loved the show and most of the bands but it came with a pretty hefty price.

Hull yuh bruh they killed it and venue rocks even lawn tickets. TRAPPED IN PURGATORY! A LIFELESS OBJECT ALIVE!!! It took us 30 min to find our car as only the first half of the parking lot had markers of any kind. Then another 45 min for the back of the lot cars to start moving.

Quite possibly the best show I've seen, been a fan of Lamb of God since I was 8 and slayer since I was 6. Missed Behemoth, but as soon as lamb of God came on it god wild. Slayer shreds, so many solos. Amazing energy. Never been to a show as good as this. I'm not usually a person who takes photos at a show and only got one, sure wish I got more though.

Saw the same tandem of Slayer and Lamb of God on the Unholy Alliance tour in 2007, and have seen Lamb of God numerous other times. Would ve been better without Behemoth, they sound great but would have rather seen more of the other bands. Also the venue needs to settle down on the price gouging on the concessions! A concert is nearing the price of a vacation if you decide to buy any beverages or food! Ticket price was awesome! Got 2 pit tickets (presale) at $55 ea! The show was amazing but the only problem I had was they let Lamb of God play before Slayer. I would think that either Anthrax or Testament would've had that honor, but they gave it to a band who's audience likes to jump during songs. That is stupid and annoying as hell. The whole concert was amazing. Each of the five band's sets was unique and well done. Slayer's fire was so precise, making inverted crosses in bursts of 1-second flame jets, and tons of other pyrotechnic amazements. The music was top notch. It was all different flavors of metal from each group, but all so powerful and awesome, each in their own way. It was incredibly, unfathomably loud and clear at that high volume. Hats off to the two sound pits (which looked like IT shops). Loved the Santander venue. I wish I could see them all over again.

Seen Slayer a few times, but something was off with the sound board ,all you could hear was guitar solos lost in a muddy mess. I traveled from Ct down to Florida for this show. Me and my best friend drove from Spring Hill to Orlando. Unfortunately, we ended up missing death angel, but made it into the hard rock live just in time for anthrax. I've see. Both anthrax and slayer a number of times, but seeing them together was just amazing. The intimate nature of the venue and the energy of the crowd made for an awesome environment. Everyone was cool, and security was fine. They didn't bother anyone for moshing, and The pit was confined to the front of the stage. We actually ended up on the floor and the view was really good. I got to take some really good pictures.i would definitely see a show here again.

The Slayer,Anthrax, and Death Angel concert was amazing. Not only did all three bands sound perfect, the Hard Rock Live at Universal is a great venue. I would definitely go back to see another show. The only bad thing I would have to say about the show is the beer is expensive. I bought a Hard Rock Live cup for $13 and refills after that or $10. But if you bought a $6 cup it actually filled the original $13 come up just fine so it seems like they were trying to rip you off. That wasn't cool. It's already expensive enough without them trying to gouge you $4 more for a beer. Thank God me and my buddy figured out that you could buy a $6 beer and still fill up your cup. Shame on you guys at the Hard Rock Live. But I will probably be back. Thanks for a good time.Again if anybody has a chance to see Slayer on this tour,do it,it's definitely worth it

I had a great time at the Hard Rock seeing Slayer, Anthrax and death angel. It was my first time at the Hard Rock, though I do go to tons of live shows and concert venues all over Florida. The sound in the venue was awesome. Slayer is a band that likes to crank it up and everything sounded clear. It's a Slayer show and people know how crazy those can get. Security was not hassling people like I've seen at other venues when people try to mosh or just generally go crazy. I would definitely go back to the Hard Rock again.

Great show. The loudest show that I have ever attended at that venue. Carcass was good, first time that I can remember seeing a full set live. Testament was amazing!!! They always put a ton of pressure on the headliner . Such an underrated and unappreciated band. Slayer is Slayer. Fast, heavy and loud as hell. It felt like the sound concussion was breaking kidneys stones loose. It was amazing!

This is the 5th time I have seen Slayer. This was 110 MINUTES of ear ringing metal. They did all the classic stuff. They did several new songs. SLAYER ALWAYS DELIVERS. This time was no exception.

Awesome, there's nothing I can say about slayer that any true fan doesn't already know. So yeah, can't wait to see them again. Wished carcass played a little bit longer.

It's a Slayer show so of course it was awesome! Suicidal Tendencies was great also but I missed the Overkill show because I thought each band would play longer. Each band had shortened sets due to the format and that was either good or bad depending on how long you wanted to stay to see each one versus how long you didn't want to stand around in the crowd. Very intimate concert hall since it is such a small venue and the line to the bar sucked because there was only two bars, one of which closed before Slayer started but the bartenders worked very hard and were quite polite despite the overwhelming odds against them. Again, it was a Slayer show so it is pretty much always going to be awesome but the venue had its ups and downs due to how small it was.

We sat in the comfy chairs in the balcony and watched the mayhem. Only one drunk idiot annoyed us and security was all over him. Setlist for ST and Slayer could have been better, yet thats just my musical preferences. My pop sugar young wife's first experience at a metal show. She survived and was smiling at the end. So it was all good.

Suicidal tendencies was the reason I went to see this concert. They are my all time favorite band and they were awesome. Mike Muir has such high energy and puts his all into every song. The whole band was great. Dean Pleasants on guitar was amazing. I would go see this again tonite if I could. Slayer was also excellent and a crowd pleaser.

Traveled 150 miles in a snow storm to see Slayer. They Sounded great. The whole band sounded tremendous. Exodus was ok but Suicidal Tendencies was annoying. I would rather watch Slayer play for 2 1/2 hours. Went in before the show started and got right in front of the stage. Best spot ever. The crowd was wild which made it a lot of fun. The drums sounded really good. Great night.. What to see them again..

The meet & greet with "The most dangerous band in the world", EXODUS was nothing but spectacular they took us back stage all 7 of us where we got too meet the band and get a few items autographed by the band. Of course my camera sucks so the tour manger had used one of their cameras too take my picture and then they e-mailed the picture too me. Exodus where totally cool and John Souza was like the coolest out the whole bunch and seemed too be generously excited about the whole thing. We got both our picture taken with band and then we got a group photo in front of the stage. All the band's seemed too totally kick ass. The highlight was of course Slayer. They played a fairly decent long set. "man is Tom Araya getting old".

My second visit ever to the Hard Rock and I was blown away. Wasn't sure what to expect since my first visit was a VIP deal with Satriani. Which was a seated venue. Knowing the crowd that would attend a slayer show I was curious what the floor would be like and to my amazement the theater style seating was gone and the floor was open for fans to do as they do. Maybe it was to protect their property or maybe it was to accomodate us freaks, either way someone with a brain has their hands in the goings ons at this establishment. I was greeted at the line for the bar by the head man himself ( forget your name bro) and escorted to a location of the bar where there was no lines. Did he recognize me from the VIP show and hook me up? Or is he just that cool to his patrons? Either way hands down from now on I will be looking at more upcoming events at the Hard Rock as opposed to the House of Blues .. Just like the more top notch atmosphere and their ability to adapt to the different walks of life they attract. (Regardless of drink prices-though worth every penny as the bar staff do you "right right" as well ;-) )

We missed Exodus. Took forever to get to the doors. ST was pretty good. They still played a good show. But SLAYER brought down the house!!! Every single song was spot on and in key. They knew what we needed to hear and they delivered it with a double flying kick in the teeth!!!
