I wish we hadn't tried in vain for meet and greet with Eliza Doolittle. Everyone was just trying to monopolize her time. Also, the sound effects warm-up guy was annoying and unnecessary, and even though it was an all-ages show there was much cussing from him and Plan B. Plus, Plan B would roughhouse with his band onstage. All that aside, I still would give it 3 1/2 stars (rounded up to 4 and thus recommend) since Eliza and Plan B sang so beautifully.

I was lucky enough to see Plan B and his terrific band two nights in a row: opening for Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae at Roseland, and his headlining gig at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Both sets were great, but obviously the full set on Thursday night was really special. I can't say enough about how talented Ben Drew is. He's a very intense performer, but he also has a sweet, boyish side. His voice sounded fine, and the band was absolutely solid. Beatboxer Faith SFX - who did about 20 minutes before introducing Plan B - was also impressive. If you don't have his album, by all means get it! He really deserves to be successful over here in the U.S., not just the U.K. and Europe.

Great show! Band is fun on and off stage. Danced my ass off. Beatboxer really had the crowd going. Nice to be at a smaller venue where it was intimate and felt real. Hey Leon and Cassell, try not to get into too much trouble out there!

Got turned on to "The Defamation of Strickland Banks" by a friend. They played most of the album and brought outstanding energy despite a half-full El Rey theater. Highly recommended.

Eliza Doolittle performed first. She was pretty good. I really liked her voice. Her cover of Kanye's "Runaway" was pretty good. Then FaithSFX came out and he blew everyone away. He is just amazing, and what he can do is unreal. Greatest beatboxer!! Plan B was next. I just love this man. Seriously amazing! He has such an incredible voice. So much soul in his voice and then he is just a genious when he raps. The highlight of my night is when he did "Pieces." That's one of the songs he has with Chase & Status. It was awesome. Some of the crowd started a mosh pit. I also loved the cover of Seal's "Kiss From A Rose." He bought Faith back out for that song and a few others. He ended with "Stay Too Long," and they went crazy. Plan B was jumping all over his guitar player Tom and everyone. It was awesome! Overall, the concert was brilliant. I loved every second of it. Got to meet Plan B and the band after and they were all amazing in every way possible.

The very talented Eliza Doolittle warmed us up for the main event, the fantastic group currently taking the world by storm, Plan B. The energy they elicited from the crowd was palpable and contagious. Ben and his group took us through the story of Strickland Banks and his incarceration but it didn't stop there as we were then whipped up into a mosh pit frenzy with cover songs and their own punk/rap offerings. It was a fantastic night.

I have a lot of respect for this artist, he has such varied talents and huge potential but the concert was a little bit too Karaoke. Too many covers of wedding songs. Think it should have had a more balanced combination of soul music, dubstep and rap.

Plan B killed it on stage- his first set included songs from his latest album while the second set was mash up of old school songs that were re-done.
