TesseracT

TESSERACT IN CONCERT:British prog-metal titans Tesseract are pioneers of the djent metal technique characterized by distorted, palm-muted guitar chords, joining bands like Meshuggah and Textures as torchbearers of the niche style. With their syncopated riffs, epic solos, and distinctive djent playing, the band put on one heck of an epic live show, slaying fans around the globe with the bludgeoning force of thunderous tracks like "Nascent" and "Nocturne." Back on the road for their latest tour, fans of face-melting metal can expect total satisfaction as the band shred their way through their catalog.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Started by Acle Kahney in 2003, Tesseract emerged from the burgeoning djent metal scene pioneered by Kahney and other guitarists like Periphy's Misha Mansoor and Monuments' John Browne.

Tesseract did their thing. Plini and Astronoid as well. For the price you really can't get a better performance. Clean venue was also a plus, and it was packed but enough space. Will be back!

All four bands: Skyharbor, ERRA, the Contortionist, and Tesseract... put on an amazing show at the TLA. Every band was well worth the price of admisison. I'm a huge fan of 3 of the 4 bands and having them all on the bill was phenomenal. If this same gig were to happen again, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Ben Sharp's Cloudkicker was there. TesseracT's vocalist was not. I couldn't have imagined it going any better way. A+

To start Astronoid, who I'd not really listened to sounded like they had some awesome material. My only issue with them were that they were not balanced right so a lot of the melody and the vocalist were lost to the bass and drum. When I could hear it was great! Plini came on and the balance was much better. Again I don't know much of their stuff but it sounded great. My wife wasn't a fan of that style of music (no vocals), but even she enjoyed several of their songs! Then Tesseract came on and just completely nailed it. As with all the live stuff I've seen they create an amazing set that just seems to flow from one song perfectly into the next, with some great showmanship from Dan to tie it all together. The only issue I had was that they played Of Matter: Proxy and Retrospect but didn't finish it up with Resist (which is my favourite song) and it just felt a little bit incomplete, but that's just a matter of opinion as by cutting that song they were able to add a different banger from their collection! Here's to hoping that they can play Resist next time!

I ve lived in the Philadelphia area most of my life and I absolutely LOVE seeing shows at the TLA. Plini was why I went to this show but I familiarized my self with TesseracT in the weeks preceding and I am now a big fan. Plini and his band were as I knew they would be... incredible! TesseracT are now a big favorite of mine. Stellar musicianship, cool and interesting songs. I hope it s not too long before they return to the area.

One of the best concerts I have been to. The venue looks a bit old but then it is also more intimate with the artists.

This was my first metal concert ever and all three bands were great. Super well rehearsed, and incredibly talented. Fun little venue with great sound as well. 10/10 would recommend.

The show was incredible, so much energy and raw power from some very talented musicians. I can't wait to see them again. The opening acts Skyharbor and Erra were awesome.

Cloudkicker was amazing and by far the best act of the night (closely followed by Intronaut)... However, I was really disappointed in Tesseract. I had been looking forward to watching them play, but as soon as I saw that they had backing tracks going through the PA I was instantly turned off because that's beyond lame. So my group and I left a couple songs into their set.

Tesseract put on an incredible show! Slightly disappointed the singer was sick and could not perform but even as a 3 piece they were amazing. Also loved the openers, mostly Cloudkicker
